First weigh in... 5lb off 😊 Can't believe it as I really didn't feel I had lost anything

EmilyK83 · 22/09/2016 06:41

Em!!!! That's brilliant, well done - you must have a permanent grin on your face!!

Congrats haveacup! Can definitely still follow SW when pregnant, it's approved by the Royal college of midwives, we have a few pregnant/bf ladies in our group.

Well done Mummy, amazing first week!

Wow Em. A size 12. You skinny bitch!

Well done the rest of the losers, some great losses there.

Yesterday was a bit of a crap day. Saw my sister and she has told me some stuff about what is happening she hasn't told the rest of them. Lost the plot a bit when I got home. So no lunch and couldn't face cooking.

Dp bless him was going to do it but I couldn't face the billionty questions about how to do it so we had a thai takeaway instead. I didn't have much so hoping to get back on track today.

B. Coffee
L. Veg soup or ham salad sandwich. Probably be the sandwich as I missed my b choice yesterday.
T. Gammon, veg, mash.

ninnypoo · 22/09/2016 06:54

First weigh in and lost 4.5lbs! I'm absolutely delighted as before I reset my progress I rarely lost more than 1 or 2lbs a week (even in my first week) but now I'm only 2.5lbs away from picking up where I left off, weight wise...

PositiveAttitude · 22/09/2016 08:05

Well done losers and congratulations to Haveacup

A quick question please: Is 1 tablespoon of wheatbran the equivalent to 1 scan bran?

Thank you

OrianaBanana · 22/09/2016 09:13

I'm nearly 28 weeks now Lemony. I spent a while being off track but I can see from the rest of me that weight's going on in places it shouldn't be. It's not surprising as this morning I almost bought a Danish pastry to have with a (decaf!) coffee without thinking - that's what I've been doing. I weighed in last night as heavy as I was when I started SW in March 2015 (so 1.5 stones up) which is depressing if understandable.

I'd also like to avoid gestational diabetes and I'm hoping a healthy SW way of eating will help (and the increased intake of fibre will help too... Confused)

B - oat crisp (HExB1), milk (HExA1), coffee, nectarine
L - speed food salad with some sort of free protein, from the canteen, satsuma
D - SW chips, baked white fish with seasoning, carrots and broccoli and possibly broad beans
S - 2 hifi lights (HExB2), pear, apple, fudge (3 syns), handful of caramel popcorn (5), some cheese triangles (HExA2)
Plenty of WATER

Must do some meal planning and an online shop tonight.

EmilyK83 · 22/09/2016 11:04

Well done ninny!

Am not sure Positive, sorry...have you checked the app?

Today's meal plan for me:

B - apple and physalis
L - Moroccan carrot and chickpea salad (1)
D - Chilean corn pie with tomato salad

The evening meal is part of a review thing I'm doing, it has syns but I need to work out how many!

Cereal bars as HexB, there's milk in the corn pie so no doubt that'll be HexA plus more...

I've been doing the stupid self-sabotage thing and went completely off plan and didn't go to my meeting last week. I know I've had a gain, but I'm not sure how much as my home scales broke and I bought different ones. I'm estimating 3-4lb. Enough!

I am back on plan today. I have a massive pan of soup on the go and I'm going to live off that for a few days, for lunches and when I want a snack.

B: 2 hifi light bars, yogurt. (No fruit, haven't got any in.)
L: SOUP.
T: Probably salad with SW burger and A of cheese.
Snacks: ALL THE SOUP.

ALemonyPea · 22/09/2016 13:30

Well done losers.

Oriana, do you know if you're having a girl or boy? Is this your first?

Nothing on the app for wheatbran, sorry positive.

Been to the gym again today. Felt good, managed longer than last time. No evil looks off anyone.

B: scrambled eggs, mushrooms
D: crackers (4 syns) with HEA cheese, ham, pear, carrot, froyo (not on the same plate)
T: salmon with veggie rice
HEB on Alpen bars for snacks

OrianaBanana · 22/09/2016 13:41

She's a girl Lemony, and she'll be my second. Well, my third pregnancy.

Nearly bought all manner of things for lunch at the canteen but settled on sushi for 3.5 syns from the co-op...

Why would they give you evil looks at the gym?

ALemonyPea · 22/09/2016 14:02

Oh lovely.

Last time I was at the gym, my sisters ex boyfriends wife was there and burning holes in the back of my head with her evil glares. Much more civilised with her not there.

BasinHaircut · 22/09/2016 14:20

Just popping in to food diary:
B - banana, pear and yoghurt (6syns)
L - chicken wrap (HEXB) and syns for humous but not sure how many!
D - salmon with roasted veg and halloumi (HEXA) plus green beans
Sn- Probably none, shouldn't need anything else.

Got a big milestone in couch to 5k tonight too, my first 20 minutes solid run.

OrianaBanana · 22/09/2016 15:58

That sounds horrible Lemony - good that she wasn't there this time!

PositiveAttitude · 22/09/2016 16:59

Well done on the 20 mins run, Basin.

Thanks for those who tried to help out with the wheatbran question. Just for your info 60g is a HE B. I have used mine today to make a chocolate orange cake. It was probably the best I have ever made. I have had half and the other half will either be pudding tonight, or tomorrow.

DS (patisserie chef) is on holiday this week. He is really stretching my temptation limits!! Whenever he has time on his hands he creates the most amazing sweet cakes, pastries, and also breads. So far over the ast few days we have had various cakes and things and I admit I have tried a mouthful sometimes, but I then just feel like crap when I have cos I really don't want it, need it, but there it is looking yummy, smelling yummy and screaming "EAT ME EAT ME!!!!" He is just making a batch of something which is smelling divine......my bran chocolate cake is feeling like a very second rate substitute!!!
And as if the world is out to get me.......I have just seen mint oreos!!!!!! They would have been my "go to" for my study snack I am sure. I set myself an hour a day to study and always used to have a bowl of bits to munch on to help my brain work. Blush Now its bowl of fruit bits! I really need to stick to this and keep going.

I am also getting a little bit down pissed off because no-one....not one single person has mentioned that I look as if i have lost weight. I have lost over 2 stone since June, and i feel so much better (still loads to go, but it's a good start). Did any of you start REALLY big and when did people notice your loss?

justamo · 22/09/2016 17:24

Thank you for the tooth reassurance maygirl I'm too scared to google!
A miracle occurred at weigh in. I'm down 1.5 pounds. I'm wondering if the chocolate binge will show up next week and I've had another today Blush
B - fruit & yoghurt
L -2 hifi bars & mountain of chocolate
D - stuffed peppers.
Exercise - 3 mile run, 5 mile walk.

Sixpencenonethericher · 22/09/2016 17:44

Positive I was a size 22 and 16 stone now I'm 14 1 and a size 16 but only my close family notice none of my friends have yet I can't tell only in my clothes

Buttwing · 22/09/2016 19:23

Positive have you bought any new clothes? People tend not to notice so much if you are wearing your old stuff I've found.

PositiveAttitude · 22/09/2016 19:36

Thanks for that. No, I haven't bought new clothes yet - I was thinking of getting a new load of winter clothes soon. So, yes, I am walking around in the same clothes that are all now too big for me really. I am hoping to be buying 2 sizes smaller when I buy things than the size I bought at the beginning of the summer.
When I get my winter clothes out of their summer storage I am looking forward to digging out a pair of jeans that I have not worn for a few years. I am just hoping that I didn't throw them away at the end of last winter when I had not been able to wear them for ages.

I will just have to be patient and know within myself that I have done it, until that new wardrobe is sorted.

Titsywoo · 22/09/2016 19:52

Wow you've done so well positive, 2 stone in 3 months is amazing :) If you are bigger it takes a while for people to notice. Especially if your clothes are a bit baggy.

Weigh in tomorrow and I'm hoping I have done ok. Made the nicest chicken last night. Skinless and boneless chicken thighs marinaded overnight in 2tbsp balsamic vinegar, 3 tbsp honey and 1 tbsp soy sauce plus a big pinch of ground ginger and garlic granules (obviously you could use fresh versions of these. Put them on a baking tray with a little of the marinade poured on top of each then cooked at 180 for 30 mins. Yummy yummy chinese chicken and each bit was 1.5 syns max (less probably as a fair bit of the marinade doesn't get eaten but better to be safe!).

So 14st 7 last week and really hoping for a 2lb loss :)

ALemonyPea · 22/09/2016 20:51

Ah Positive,mi was the same a few months ago when no one was commenting on my 2 stone loss. I get loads of comments now that I've dropped 2 dress sizes and wearing nicer clothes. You'll get them, don't fret.

froubylou · 22/09/2016 20:59

Positive I have lost 1st 10 lbs and it's only the last few lbs that people have started noticing. I am still wearing the same clothes but have a next sale vip slot booked for tomorrow so hopefully will get a few new bits.

I think it depends where you are losing it from. My weight always goes from my boobs, thighs and bum first. Which if you wear certain things isn't always as noticeable as losing tummy weight. Mine is just starting to come off my tummy and people are noticing it more.

Don't know what size to buy tomorrow. 16s are a bit big but very comfortable. But not sure I am quite a 14 yet. And I need some jeans!

I might play safe and get 16s. At least they will be comfortable and if I feel they are too big can always exchange I suppose.

I have about 4 pairs of diesel jeans in a drawer that are sizes 12/ 14 but properly tiny compared to the size 14 jeans you can get from next etc. If I can get my arse in them at some point I will be properly happy!

maygirl · 22/09/2016 22:11

Sounds yummy Titsy!

EmilyK83 · 23/09/2016 07:36

Titsy, that sounds amazing!

Today's meal plan for me:

BasinHaircut · 23/09/2016 09:00

Morning all.

I don't think people really start to notice until you start losing it from your 'worst' areas. For me it's always really obvious when it comes off my face and arms. I've always had big arms, my mum and sister do too so not much I can do about it, but they do seem to be where I store fat. But weirdly my tummy goes down first.

Tonight will be off plan. I'm going to dinner and plan to enjoy the food without worrying about it. Won't go mad though and I'm not drinking any alcohol so shouldn't be too bad.

But rest of today:
B - banana, berries and yoghurt (6syns)
L - whole meal roll (HEXB) with ham and scrape of butter (2syns?), cucumber, carrot and pepper sticks.

Don't know what I'm having for dinner but it will rob ably involve cheese. But I'll still have my HEXA at least!

emwithme · 23/09/2016 09:02

Positive people didn't really notice with me until I'd lost between 1.5 - 2 stones but the main change came when I bought new clothes in the smaller sizes (I entirely skipped 16s on the way down!)

I am wearing my new, size 12 jeans today. I still cannot believe that I can fit my giant arse into these unfeasibly tiny trousers. I know it means my giant arse isn't giant any more and is nearer to unfeasibly tiny (well, unfeasibly for me) but that is actually quite difficult to reconcile. I've been fat (or at least big) FOR EVER.

WI yesterday and only lost 1/2 a lb but I don't care, because size 12 jeans, and also I am into a new stone bracket that I don't recall seeing for years and years and years (probably also close to 20)

Today's food:

B: Eggy muffins
L: Ham salad, apple, pear, satsumas
D: Spaghetti bolognaise
HEA: Milk
HEB: Apricots (probably, while watching a film tonight)
