Two days back on plan 100%! Even turned down cakes in the staff room on PPA and went to the gym for an hour this evening.

Today's food:
B: banana
Lunch: spaghetti hoops + hex a cheese
Snacks: 1x Alpen bar, lots of fruit
Tea: egg fried rice with bacon and veg

ALemonyPea · 16/09/2016 21:05

I love cauliflower, that and broccoli and sprouts are my favourite veggies.

Buttwing · 16/09/2016 21:08

Ha ha em I'm with lemony, I love it! My Italian grandma used to dip it in batter and deep fry it, it was amazing! But not very sw friendly!! I think it was a bhuna recipe that caught my eye too.

emwithme · 16/09/2016 23:09

Don't get me wrong, I love cauliflower. Adore the stuff. But for some reason (which I think is to do with undercooked-cauliflower-in-over-processed-cheese-sauce at school) I do not like the idea of this roasted cauli.

I am glad I used my syns tonight on a bag of pufts rather than a gin and tonic because we've just had to rush the girl-cat to the vet, we think she's been hit by a car. She's being kept in for fluids and pain relief and monitoring, the vet thinks she's going to be OK - nothing seems broken but her tail isn't quite right and she's just not herself. I am now trying not to dive headfirst into the chocolate cupboard...

ninnypoo · 17/09/2016 08:06

Sorry to hear about your cat emwithme Flowers

PositiveAttitude · 17/09/2016 08:17

I hope the cat's alright this morning Em

And I hope that you get some good answers when you call Frouby

For those who are just starting out on the SW journey - when I started I was scared to eat anything for about 2 days until I felt that I fully understood the concept and what was and wasn't "allowed". I have done loads of diets in the past by cutting out various food groups and understood that all quite easily, but SW was different and nothing was "banned" so I needed to get my head around it. Once I "got it" I love it!!!

I tried a different recipe for the scan bran chocolate cake last night - Disaster!!! Sooooooo dry!! The only way to eat it was to soak it in yogurt overnight and eat with loads of juicy raspberries! Wont be repeating that experiment.
I think i have had a good week after the car crash that was my birthday week with the 2lb gain. I have enjoyed getting back into the groove and I am actually looking forward to my Tuesday evening WI.

Have a good weekend everyone.

Meals today:
B - Scan bran chocolate crumbles with yogurt and raspberries. (sounds way better than it tastes!!!! (1/2 HE B)
L - Coronation chicken salad
D - Chicken, quiche, new pots and veg. HE A

Hi Fi bar x 1 (other half HEB)
Syns - not sure yet, will see what I fancy this evening in front of tv. Fruit for snacks.

EmilyK83 · 17/09/2016 11:05

Oh Em, really hope the cat's ok :(

Missed breakfast this morning, seems to happen a lot at weekends. Rest of the day is looking like this...

B - none
L - SW fry up to compensate for lack of breakfast
D - Aldi minted lamb (1), jacket potato and veg

Cheestrings as HexA, cereal bars as HexB. Noticed yesterday that Alpen Lights are only £1 in Iceland, if it helps anyone!

Finished yesterday on 13.5 syns, may well be more tonight...

Hope your cat is ok Em 💐

I seem to miss breakfast every weekend as well Emily. I was knackered last night and was asleep by 10, and didn't wake til 10 this morning. Very unlike me, I feel refreshed but will probably pay for it tonight.

Off t the beach today, they have the bestest gelato shop there, I am taking hifi bars instead.

B: nothing
D: omellete with ham and mushroom, pot of melon
T: Asda chicken curry (3 syns), wedges and salad

froubylou · 17/09/2016 11:49

Hello all

Food planned for weekend.

B. Coffee
L. Sw quiche I made yesterday, salad
T. Steak, new pots and salad.

Tomorrow

Brunch. Omelette
T. Sunday lunch.

emwithme · 17/09/2016 12:45

Thank you all...cat is back from her overnight stay at the vets, they think it's just bruising. She has eaten and washed and used the scratching pad (as well as the carpet) and is purring up a storm when stroked, so we think it's a near miss and a lucky escape. I am now looking at properties in the middle of nowhere, with a mile long drive does anyone have a spare £350k? (Gratuitous cat tax pic included - Erwin checking that we hadn't replaced Genie with a PodKitten when returning her from the V-E-T this morning)

Managed to avoid the temptation of chocolate last night, but had an extra HEA and HEB (aka cheese on toast) which did the trick.

Today's food:

Brunch: Bacon, eggs, mushrooms, tomato
Dinner (celebrating wedding anniversary): Steak, chips, salad, mushrooms, corn.
HEA: Milk
HEB: Hifi bars

Glad your cats ok em they really do become part of the family. We have two and a dog they are spoiled rotten in this house I often joke I am at the bottom of the pecking order after all the kids and the animals!

B-coffee
L-bacon, poached eggs, mushroom and spinach
D-chicken kebabs and salad.

I may end up doing an sp day but will see how I go.

Was in m and s earlier and saw they were doing a Japanese range, anyone any ideas on syn values? What I could see (through the hoards of people round it!) looked pretty healthy.

EmilyK83 · 17/09/2016 15:57

Awww glad she's ok Em!

Lemony - sounds like you needed that sleep!

Not sure on the Japanese front Butt, I may have a look at those tomorrow though...I'm down to my last 4 mini teacakes so am really hoping they have another tub or two in my local one!

Oh god I'm so hangry. Went to my mams today, and she had baked, when my sister got there she put it all out, sausage rolls, cheese scones, pies and a massive chocolate cake. I sat looking at it while drinking squash. Didn't eat any of it, and none of the gelato at the beach, but spent most of the day fighting my food demons. Gah!

Glad your cats ok Em. I live on a main bus route, and always worry my two will get squashed.

EmilyK83 · 17/09/2016 17:57

But just think how great you'll feel knowing you have IMMENSE willpower Lemony! That's seriously impressive!

OP posts:
Buttwing · 17/09/2016 18:54

Wow lemony that serious willpower!!

I didn't manage an sp day. I've decided for me periods and sp don't mixGrin
Just off to waitrose to stock up on my favourite dessert.

haveacupoftea · 17/09/2016 19:04

I am having trouble wrapping my head around Saturday night with no treats Confused

ALemonyPea · 17/09/2016 19:27

Thanks Blush. I am pretty pleased I didn't give in. Had a sort of mini panic attack about it all though.

Tea, you need Emily's little list of low syn goodies. Save your syns on a Saturday and get yourself a plate of stuff.

Buttwing · 17/09/2016 19:45

Humpphhhh they'd bloody sold out! It's my own fault I took the packet into my sw group to share, I reckon they've all gone and bought it. Delivery tonight so I will go tomorrow and stock right up!
I don't know what to do now I feel lost! Maybe a curly wurly?!

ALemonyPea · 17/09/2016 19:54

Oh grrr Butt. I really need to go and buy some for myself. Nearest Waitrose is in city centre or the little village about 20 minutes drive though.

froubylou · 17/09/2016 20:24

Hello all

Was just feeling a bit pissed off about my tea. Didn't fancy the steak so had a ham salad sandwich on full size wholemeal bread and a packet of crisps. And a small sausage roll.

Then realised if I don't have another gin I will probably just scrape through on an sp day. Had a bit of sw quiche earlier. Haven't looked at the syns of a small sausage roll but I can't see it being much more than 7ish?

Anyway I have eaten twice and it was all fairly sw friendly so happy at that.

Titsywoo · 17/09/2016 20:43

Hi all, I started in the middle of July and lost 7lbs in my first week then got ill for a few weeks and it all went wrong. I've managed to lose another pound since then but went back to meetings on Friday after the summer hols and need to get properly started. I need an operation so really need to lose another 3 and a half stone by around Feb.

I'm just struggling with what to eat - mainly getting my third speed foods in. My normal daily menu would be something like this:-

B: None I never have time
L: Sarnie and crisps from tesco
D: Pesto pasta/burger and chips/chicken escalope and rice

I don't like fruit much but I'll eat raspberries. I like veg but hate salad. No idea what to eat each day especially as I work and never know what to get in Tesco for lunch!

Ideas greatly appreciated. I'm trying to think of a menu for the week ahead but am drawing a complete blank!

EmilyK83 · 17/09/2016 21:41

Titsy - could you make SW breakfast muffins and keep them in the fridge so you always have breakfast to hand?

Lunches you can use your HexB wholemeal bread for a sandwich, and some crisps (eg Hula Hoops Puft) are pretty low in syns

Can still do burgers with SW chips in the evening - M&S do skinny burgers that are syn free, or there's the SW ones in Iceland, or make your own! I do a syn free coleslaw with mine - Asda do a pre-cut bag of coleslaw veg and I add fat free yoghurt and lemon juice - gets my speed in!

Maybe try some of the Iceland SW meals too, they're all syn free and have recipes on the side so you can make them yourself at home if you like them?

OP posts:
ALemonyPea · 17/09/2016 21:52

You really need to eat the third speed for SW to work. Pickled onions/beetroot/gherkins also count as speed if you like those. You could do pasta sauce with tomatoes, courgettes, mushrooms, onions and peppers and blitz it all down do you can't see them, still tastes just like tomatoes.

Not sure what to suggest for a grab and go thing at Tesco as most stuff will have syns. I'd just normally get a pot of salad, some ham and pease pudding.

MissMogwi · 17/09/2016 22:14

Hi can I join in?

I have just rejoined SW after almost 10 month, er, break. I lost 1st 7lb last time and I felt great. Then Xmas hit and I went off track.

Joined again on weds and I'd 'only' put 5lb back on, so not too bad. I really want to lose 2 stone and change my eating habits. I eat healthy meals but too much extra shite, like crisps, wine, gin, chocolate and so on!

Think I eat when I'm tired and or bored. Plus my office is packed with people baking, bringing treats, birthday buffets etc. and I'm a greedy mare who can't say no. BlushGrin

RavenQueen · 17/09/2016 22:51

Hi All xx

I'm so glad the cats ok Em 😊

After my really good start and wi on Thursday today has just been rubbish!! Went to my nans like always and she had done a egg and bacon sandwich for me,OH and the kids. Then since then I just seemed to have not been on track. Although I did have a Pasta N sauce for tea which was free, so that was a highlight, lol.
