18 syns for dough balls with garlic butter! Seeing if I can find the superfoods salad now...

EmilyK83 · 28/07/2016 11:13

Main course superfood salad with dressing is 11 syns. Apparently the mini dough balls on the lunch menu are 6.5 syns, may be a better option?

Comeonmommy · 28/07/2016 11:15

Chough, your message makes perfect sense and it is the same for me. I love planning my meals and snacks and it is very satisfying getting to the end of a day and being able to hand on heart say that I stayed on plan. If I stray for even as little as a week, I can feel it - my body just doesn't feel as awake. I didn't get on at group but I love this community. Especially when someone finds a new treat - froyo is my new best friend!!!!!!

paddiessmum76 · 28/07/2016 11:20

Hi I have gluten free oats low fat yogurt and fresh fruit every morning. Will try the prune juice tho I prefer dried prunes and figs but have to watch the syns. I drink loads of water and green tea. My partner is having the same issue too tho Ive told him to introduce the wholemeal bread by having toast in the morning :)

chough · 28/07/2016 11:25

Comeonmommy, yes, I'm really pleased to have found this little corner, too: so friendly and with great tips.
Emily beat me to it getting back from SW syns online to look up those Pizza Express syns.
Some of those pizza syns, though! I would very easily eat a whole pizza.

Twinklestar2 · 28/07/2016 11:25

18 syns for dough balls?!! NOOOOOOOOOOO!!

Twinklestar2 · 28/07/2016 11:27

Are the Legerra pizzas a no-no?

littlepooch · 28/07/2016 11:29

Hello all

I was wondering if anyone follows the plan online using the SW website? Are the tools/info useful and easy to follow for s newbie like me? I did SW years ago and lost weight but can't remember how it works, and anyway I'm sure it's all changed since then.

Our nearest class is two buses and a long walk away and with an 8 month old I dont think that's doable for me especially since the class starts at 9.30am.
Are the classes really important? I'm not sure I could stay anyway with the baby as she won't sit still for long Grin

chough · 28/07/2016 11:29

Twinkle, just decide whether you think they are worth it.
If yes, enjoy every mouthful, but count those flexible syns and stay in control.
Enjoy your lunch out.

Twinklestar2 · 28/07/2016 11:34

Thx chough - good advice :D

Emptynestx2 · 28/07/2016 11:47

Hi Cough and Em, thanks for the welcome, I think part of success is getting into the right frame of mind, I've tried so many times but my head hasn't been in it, I'm hoping it is this time. I've had a tough year but I've decided that this year I'm going to turn things around! I'm not sure if I need to rejoin or not as it has to be online as I don't live in England, I'll see how I get in with your support on here for now.

Thanks again and good luck everyone!

paddiessmum76 · 28/07/2016 11:57

Me, I am because I just don't have the time to go every week. I really like it I also do my own online food diary so I can see what Im eating and how many syns I am having each day

Buttwing · 28/07/2016 12:23

We take the kids to pizza express quite often the pizzas are so high!! And don't even get me started on the salads! I can't justify the Syns on leaves!! I usually have the spicy pasta with chicken I think it's pretty low and it's actually really nice I didn't feel that deprived.

B-banana and benefit bar
L-baked potato, beans, and bacon
D-soy and sweet chilli chicken, rice and peppers.

Anyone know how many Syns in a tablespoon of sweet chilli sauce?

Welcome to the new peopleSmile

froubylou · 28/07/2016 12:44

Welcome newbie!

Body magicing the fuck out of my house today. And chased dpony around on lunge so all good.

B. Coffee
L. 2 of those kfc mini bite things. Dp had then and they were rubbish.
T. Hm pasta sauce and pasta. Possibly with veg.

Hifi bar or might have muesli and ff yog.

Need 2 lbs for my 1.5 award and really want it!

chough · 28/07/2016 12:46

Buttwing, 1.5 for the sauce.

abigwideworld · 28/07/2016 13:57

Hello everyone :)

I've been doing SW for about 15 weeks now and keep forgetting there is a SW section on MN! I'm 27 weeks pregnant and have gained about half a stone since starting SW (17lbs altogether).

Buttwing · 28/07/2016 15:23

Thanks choughSmile that's not too bad between two of us.
Really quick tasty meal by the way chicken breast marinated in soy and a tablespoon of sweet chilli sauce its much taStier than it sounds!

Welcome abig that's amazing, good on for doing sw while pregnant! I gained 5 stone with my last 2 pregnancies (they were very close together!) which is why I'm here.

Twinklestar2 · 28/07/2016 17:46

I'm so proud of myself, I had dough balls and salad. I never order the salad! I always order pizza cause I think I should - habit really. So pleased I stuck with my planned meal.

emwithme · 28/07/2016 17:53

Welcome newbies!

WI today and 2.5 lbs off Grin so half of my "official" holiday gain gone (in reality it's 4.5 lbs of 7 gone).

Am shaking up my HEBs a bit to get some variety in there. Have bought some dark rye ryvita (because I like them enough to eat them but not enough that I'll over-eat them) and then the supermarket had some wholemeal thins reduced - I've not tried them before (but for 35 p for six thought I'd give them a go). Just had one now with some cottage cheese, chicken and baby plum tomatoes (20p) and they weren't bad at all. Filled the little gap between getting in from work and making dinner shortly.

SP day today:

Breakfast: Muffins, apple
Lunch: Ham salad, apple, pear, satsumas
Dinner: Prawn stir fry
HEA: Milk
HEB1: Sandwich thin
HEB2: Hifi bars

Will probably have the other half a tub of waitrose froyo later too.

maygirl · 28/07/2016 18:06

Hi newbies!

B beans, mushrooms, egg.
Morning of speed fruit and veg snacking picking at mate's allotment! Got a load to bring home too, so lucky!!!
L pasta, hexA cheese, allotment brocolli and beetroot, sooo good, freshly picked!
More fresh redcurrants, blueberries and cucumber
Snack now before gym, HexB of tinned prunes with yogurt. Going to try the HexB challenge!
D will be dal, hardboiled egg, rice and salad later.
No syns so far, most unusual for me!
Will save most of them as out for lunch tomorrow.

maygirl · 28/07/2016 18:07

Well done Em and Twinkle!

ALemonyPea · 28/07/2016 19:39

Well done losers.

I feel so bloated today, despite hardly eating anything. Probably all the fizzy (diet) pop I've had. Have a friend visiting and although stayed on plan, it's not been that great.

B: nothing
D: KFC rice box (10.5 syns)
T: salmon, new potatoes and veg, broccoli cheese with hea
Snack of hifi bar for HEB

chough · 28/07/2016 19:50

Twinkle, it was a good idea planning ahead for your lunch out. You enjoyed it, stayed in control, and feel good about yourself.
Em, when you say muffins for your breakfast, what are they please?

Comeonmommy · 28/07/2016 20:23

My 6 year anniversary today so have been out for a meal. Planned ahead and ordered the steak but did have a few chips. Special occasion so had a sparkly J20 and was naughty and had chocolate dessert - when I got it I really didn't want it!!!!! I haven't had any other syns so should be OK - ish

Twinklestar2 · 28/07/2016 20:45

Thank you everyone Smile

Away for the weekend at MIL's and a wedding on Saturday but have already told mil to buy salad Grin
