Thanks for the eggs tip. Nice surprise and helps with the few Cadburys mini eggs I might have stolen from DD I'm interested to read about the 10% thing. Yet another perk I miss out on doing it online!

And there's a Turtle Bay vaguely near me too Emily so I'd also be interested in your review.

ALemonyPea · 26/07/2016 19:25

Oh my dear lord, this could be dangerous. There is only 1 syn in a tuc cracker. 1 syn! So I could keep my HEA and have cheese and crackers every day if I wanted. Much excitement in the Lemoy household.

chough · 26/07/2016 19:28

Not had a Tuc biscuit since about 1978, but could definitely be tempted.
I seem to recall they are a bit salty ( a good thing).
I know now that I will keep thinking about them.

emwithme · 26/07/2016 19:36

The question is not so much how many syns are in one tuc cracker but how many syns are in a PACKET of tuc crackers. They are not something I can only have one or two of, a bit like Jaffa Cakes. They can only be consumed in whole packets (and that is why I am a fat bastard and hence doing SW)

However, I am right now heavy breathing cat. I am in LOVE and it's forever and ever. I have just scarfed eaten half a tub of Waitrose Love Live Belgian Chocolate Frozen Yoghurt. OH MY DAYS. This is my favourite thing ever. It's chocolatey and creamy and delicious and I ate it like Ben and Jerrys out of the tub and only 15 syns for the whole bloody tub.

I am going to go and clear the shelves in Waitrose tomorrow then I will feel safe to mention it in group on Thursday morning Grin

Right...I've just done some maths.

According to the tesco website (which has the nutritional information for tuc crackers) there are 28 crackers in a pack. At 1 syn each, that means I can eat half a packet of crackers a day as long as I have no other syns

(Also, the ones with the deliciously cheesey stuff in the middle are only 3 1/2 syns and there are about 11 of those in each packet so it's about half a pack of those too).

froubylou · 26/07/2016 19:46

Just made a lovely soup for tomorrow's lunch.

It's a slight variation on a hairy bikers one. Full of speed and very tasty.

Butternut squash
1 onion
1 large leek
1 large carrot
1 fennel bulb
1 onion
1 stick celery
2 cloves of garlic
50g of red lentils
1.2 litres of chicken stock
2 tins of tomatoes
Salt and pepper

Fry all veg off in fry light until they go soft and start to catch. Add the garlic for last minute, add rest of ingredients and then leave to simmer for about 30 minutes.

It's lush and there is loads!

chough · 26/07/2016 19:59

em, re that half packet of tuc biscuits: would they need something to go on them, and you'd have no syns left?
Eat them on their own?
Or maybe an "a" choice of cream cheese ( Primula/ Laughing Cow).
Like the sound of froubysoup

ALemonyPea · 26/07/2016 20:14

Grin Em, that cat made me laugh. I practically skipped around the kitchen when I realised.

I cannot for the life of me make soup. It's either too runny, or so thick I can slice it and serve it in the middle of a sandwich.

froubylou · 26/07/2016 21:12

If your soup is runny Lemony it isn't soup it's broth.

And if it's thick it's a stew or a hash!

1 carrot/onion/celery is a really good base for any soup. Then just chuck shit in it. Add a tin of tomatoes for aN Italian feel, tin of baked beans for a veggie soup kind of feel, rice or pasta for some bulk.

I either blend all of it for a creamy soup or if it does look a bit like a bowl of chicken stock with veg floating around in it, blend half of it. Baked beans are really good to thicken it up especially if you blend half of it too.

I find if I have a batch of soup for lunches in I don't pick at other stuff. And am rarely hungry. I freeze portions in those plastic takeaway cartons you get and it's a perfect big bowl full.

I do miss crusty bread with it though.

puppydogmummy · 26/07/2016 21:34

Hmmmmmm half a pound on this week not sure how that happened as I've kept to plan and even filled in my journal. Think I need to watch my portion sizes ( I'm a carb queen) but am interested in the trying a different Hex B everyday? I have eeetabix with different fruit 7 days a week. Any advice or thoughts?

maygirl · 26/07/2016 23:19

I had some of that frozen yogurt last week too Em, its so good!
Well done losers!!

Been hangry today! Don't know why as had decent breakfast . I just got crosser and crosser all day and speed foods weren't cutting it!

PositiveAttitude · 27/07/2016 05:27

A really good WI last night. After my expected 8lb gain from my all inclusive with bloody lush cakes and desserts on tap holiday last week I actually, technically, on paper come away with a 2lb loss last night. Shock
A bit of a cheat as I had lost more before I went away between WI and going, but I am not going to think about that part!
That meant I got my first stone award. Week 7, with the holiday in the mix as well. I am pleased with that!

Do Waitrose do any other flavours, Em? Not keen on chocolate ice cream, but strawberry......hmmmmmm!!!

Our chinese Fakeaway was really good. I made masses, so that's lunches sorted for the next few days, too.

Well done all you losers! Puppy, dont get disheartened - hopefully you will reap the benefits of last weeks hard work on your next WI.

maygirl · 27/07/2016 07:54

There's a raspberry and blackcurrant frozen yogurt Positive, but surprisingly more syns than the choc, 20 syns per pot or 4 per portion. Its lovely though. Also a natural flavour, even more syns, 4.5 per portion, 22.5 per pot, not tried that one .
Wow well done on weight loss after holidays and great idea with the fakeaway!

Got DDs friend to play today and they will be making own pizzas. I'm going to do myself one with 60g wholemeal dough and heA cheese. + a salad
B fruit and yogurt.
D taking DM to an appt, might be late so plan to slow cook a chicken whilst I'm out. WI later too.

chough · 27/07/2016 08:16

puppy, have a look back in your book or on the SW website for some ideas for different "b" choices, and see what you like the sound of.
Maybe different cereals, soup, or nuts and seeds.
I like strawberries with fat free natural yoghurt and flaxseeds ( supposed to be good for women of a certain age, of which I am one).
Or hi-fi bars bought in group, to eat on their own, or chopped up with fruit and yoghurt.

emwithme · 27/07/2016 09:29

I'm thinking of shaking up my HEBs too. I've done the scan bran challenge this week (bloody hell it's hateful stuff, but oat bran is slightly less evil) - lost 2 lbs in 4 days last week and hoping for a similar loss this week. I tend to have hifi bars for my chocolate fix, but if I can get that from Waitrose froyo (I am still heavy breathing cat at the thought of it) or weetabix/muesli if I'm having an SP day and am in a rush in the morning and haven't prepared anything but I might throw in some seeds or nuts or some nice crisp breads like ryvitas on a couple of days next week.

DH is away with his Army Cadets on Saturday and Sunday - back Sunday night for the evening and then off on Monday Morning I have to deliver him a difficult 45 minute drive away for 8 am next Monday, I do not like him very much for that for 10 days on annual camp so now's the time for me to try new recipes that I don't think he'll like and eat my bodyweight in fish and mushrooms.

Today's food:

Breakfast: Muffins
Lunch: Chicken salad, apple, pear, satsumas
Dinner: Chicken noodle stir fry.
HEA: Milk
HEB: Hifi bars

ALemonyPea · 27/07/2016 10:47

I like the idea of having different HEBs as ATM I'm only having peanut hifi bars Blush. Think I will shake them up after I come back from my mini holiday.

Great NSV for me today. Tried on clothes that haven't fitted for a few years, and I can get into the majority of them. Very excited!

B: fruit and hifi bar
D: left over bolognese with added speed and hea cheese
T: chicken curry with rice, or maybe cauliflower rice

EmilyK83 · 27/07/2016 10:55

Em - half a tub is only 7.5 syns, it's all good! Wink

Lemony - it was amazing! Feel seriously bloated now though, straight back on plan!

Today:

B - melon
L - celery soup with HexB pitta and a boiled egg
D - chilli con carne, rice and salad

Skinny latte as my HexA, 5 syns of treats max!

EmilyK83 · 27/07/2016 11:01

Oh ffs - turns out I missed a load of posts as I didn't update the thread (I always have the page open on my phone) before posting! Well done on losses prof and positive!

Puppy - it's only a tiny gain, am sure it'll come off next week! With the different HexB choices, there's loads you can have - some tinned soups, nuts, seeds, dried fruit, bread, cereal/cereal bars, crispbreads...loads of choice! I'm doing a HexB gluten free pitta bread today, then for the rest of the week I have things like Alpen Light bars, prunes, Finn Crisp crispbreads, muesli, pistachios and scan bran. Hope that helps!

froubylou · 27/07/2016 12:38

Hello all

Wi went well today. 2lb off despite being off plan 3 days. But to be fair I only ate 1 meal on those 3 days so probably why.

Got my club 10 too!

Today's plan

T. Pasta with tomato sauce

EmilyK83 · 27/07/2016 12:52

Nicely done frouby!!!

ALemonyPea · 27/07/2016 13:44

Yay, welcome to the club Frouby!

Heloooo I'm baaaaackGrin

Everyone is doing so well! The pictures at the beginning of the thread are amazing!

Well I've buggered off for a bit and had a break. My weightloss is still 3.5 stone and after a break of about 6 weeks I've maintained which I'm pleased about, I just felt like I needed a break from sw for a bit I've eaten healthily just not thought about every single thing I've put in my mouth. Anyway blah blah I'm back on like a car bonnet want to lose the last stone and a half to get to my target of 9 stone 11.

B- banana
L- spinach, bacon, mushroom and two poached eggs
D- not sure maybe pasta and prawns

Twinklestar2 · 27/07/2016 14:27

Menu

Shredded wheat and skimmed

Pasta and pesto salad

Snacked on a mugshot.

Unsure on dinner as may be working late.

Also have some strawberries and a Mullerlight too.

EmilyK83 · 27/07/2016 16:56

Welcome back Butt! And a maintain after 6 weeks off is impressive!!

WingDefence · 27/07/2016 17:34

Butt! Well done to losses everyone, I'm Envy at those of you with Amaze Waitrose FroYo nearby, and hi to all.
