Thought i would add some finds that i have tried for quick easy meals.

Obviously the batchelor and sauce pasta but on those lines.

Ainsley harriet lentil dahl is free, makes a large meal. I have with cucumber and ff nat yoghurt (so bit like a curry)

Ainsley harriet mushroom and bulgar wheat also tasty and free.

Discovered merchant gourmet lentils, they do some flavoured ones with mushroom / sundried tomatoes. Delicious and no need to heat if you are on the go. They are around 3 syns a pack i think, but worth it and if you are out and about etc variation for picnic.

The jamie oliver lentils / chickpea ones too are really tasty. Some higher in syns but fairly good and filling.

On friday i used a schwartz bombay pot mix which is 3.5 syns / lentil daal free / jamie oliver curried chickpeas 3.5 syns and a raita free. It made a really nice curry fed two of us and lots of left overs. Not bad on syn front for a curry. I know you can make fresh ones on low syn but cooking facilities aren't great for us in a house rennovation.

Oh and tesco had in some new batchelor pasta and sauce flavours in and 50p each a pesto one, a spicy arrabiata and i think a pancettta one. Haven't tried them yet though. Shame still no mushroom and wine one.

Hello, all.
Glad that you're "back in the zone", Wing.
Well done, em, on your nomination. I made your mini quiches/ muffins for our SW taster this morning, and they were all eaten and praised.
There were six members up for Woman of the Year, and all their stories were inspiring: it was really hard to choose who to vote for.
I was so pleased with my loss this week: 4 and a half pounds!
I've had 2 scan bran every day, several SP meals, and been reducing portion sizes, and it's definitely worked.

Coulddowithanap · 15/08/2016 13:16

Hi, I have just started slimming world. I'm on day 6 today and feeling quite positive. I am struggling to eat syns at the moment, I worry that if I start eating a packet of crisps or a curly wirly then I won't want to stop and end up eating loads.

Today my meals are:
B - muller light, fruit and tea
L - mugshot and fruit and coffee
D - either baked potato and beans or left over slimming world spag bol.

I usually have porridge in the morning as my healthy b and milk is my healthy a.

chough · 15/08/2016 13:23

Hello, Coulddowithanap, you don't seem to be eating much, and I wonder if that's why you're tempted to have too many syns, because you're hungry.
No need to deprive yourself on Slimming World!
If you have a consultant to check your food diary for you, they will be able to advise.

Hi everyone

I will be back with a vengeance on Saturday......am in Lake Garda....tis so beautiful but am Desperate to be back on plan!

Think I've gained about a stone.

OP posts:
chough · 15/08/2016 14:01

Hello, calzone, I know what you mean about being desperate to get back on plan.
A big part of the enjoyment of a holiday for me and DH is eating out ( and for me, red wine), but I feel much healthier and less bloated when I get back on plan at home.
Your gain might not be as much as you fear, but what will be will be!
Have a lovely rest of your holiday, and don't worry about weight gain: you can deal with that when you get back.

ALemonyPea · 15/08/2016 15:26

Was just thinking about you today Calzone, hope you've had a lovely holiday. Life is too short to be on a diet while on holiday, especially abroad.

Unthoughtknown · 15/08/2016 21:01

Ah Lake Garda is lovely Calzone - hope you're enjoying

B - Eggy bread with HE choice bread/Golden Syrup 2 syns/raspberries/mullerlight
S - Omlette muffin thingy
L - Slice of cake - 11.5 syns/Skinny latte (HE choice)
D - Teriaki pork/rice/veggies 1 syn
S - Muller light

Actually have eaten tons today, need to reign it in a bit.

emwithme · 15/08/2016 22:39

coulddowithanap you need to eat more free and speed foods. Don't deprive yourself! I would quite easily eat all that before the end of lunchtime, and then have a decent dinner. My portions are NOT small (and I've lost 3 stone over the past year)

Today's food:

B: Overnight "oats"
L: Beef salad, apple, pear, satsumas
D: Linguine bolognaise.
Snacks: Apple, pear, cathedral city mini cheese, pufts
HEA: Milk
HEB: Muesli in overnight oats

Entirely forgot when doing all my prep for the week yesterday to make my breakfast muffins Blush I spent all day wondering what I'd forgotten to do! Fortunately remembered at about 10 pm so stuck some overnight oats into the fridge. Made the muffins tonight so have them for tomorrow and Wednesday, have taster at Group on Thursday morning and will do overnight oats again on Friday so I only have to make these once this week.

froubylou · 16/08/2016 07:51

I alays feel slightly out of control when I am away and look forward to planning when I get back home.

I am finding the school holidays pretty tough as we are out and about a lot more. DD is 12 so old enough to understand healthy eating etc but I am all out of routine. Am not shopping at the start of the week or meal planning as much. And lunchtime we are usually out somewhere. Usually it's just me and ds pottering around.

Will be happy with small losses or St's I think until they are back at school.

No clue what I am going to eat today. Seafood salad for tea I reckon. Not sure on lunch. I usually just have coffee for breakfast but might have some fruit and yoghurt this morning.

wishingchair1 · 16/08/2016 07:59

Yesterday

B. Overnight wheat bran heb with blueberries
L. Pasta n sauce & salad
D. Jp, ff cottage cheese, salad
Strawberries snd ff nat yog
Hea milk

EmilyK83 · 16/08/2016 08:27

Today's plan:

B - weigh in (and taster morning at group)
L - ham, eggs and spinach
D - out to review a restaurant, will try to make relatively sensible choices...

Saving HexA and HexB for dinner!

EmilyK83 · 16/08/2016 11:23

1lb off this week - meaning now just 4lb to target and my scales now start with the number 9! Happy with that! Smile

ALemonyPea · 16/08/2016 11:43

Well done Emily!

I lost 4.5 lb this morning! So got my 3 stone award and only 4.5 to my 3.5 stone award, which would take me half way to goal. Also got slimmer of the week Grin

I thought I'd struggle with the school holidays but I've done better in them than when they've been at school. Think it's all the walking I e done that's helped as I've certainly not deprived myself.

Sixpencenonethericher · 16/08/2016 11:53

Well done lemony and em x

MollyRedskirts · 16/08/2016 11:53

Wishing, those easy meal ideas are really helpful, thank you. I rely on pasta n sauce a lot so I'm definitely going to try the dahl and those lentils.

I'm back on plan today. We had a brilliant night out, but like others have said, I like being in control and SW gives me that. I had some Ben and Jerrys cinnamon ice cream at the cinema (new Star Trek film is brilliant!) and while I was eating it, I was already plotting how to make a low syn version! I'm thinking quark with white chocolate Options and sweetener, cinnamon, and maybe a toffee or vanilla yogurt mixed in before freezing.

I bought some wheat bran and decided to try having that as my HEB for a few days. 60g is loads! Ended up mixing 30g into my usual berries and yogurt for breakfast... bleurgh. I'm not doing that again. It was grim, even with some choc shot.

MollyRedskirts · 16/08/2016 11:55

Ooh, well done Emily and Lemony! Your posts weren't there when I started typing. Those are fabulous achievements.

NotSayingImBatman · 16/08/2016 12:17

Afternoon chaps, hope you don't mind me sidling in?

I joined slimming world nearly two weeks ago, was very very good the first week but only lost 2lb. Left the meeting feeling very disappointed as I'm roughly 5stone overweight so thought it would fall off initially.

Still, onwards and upwards, second weigh in tomorrow...

EmilyK83 · 16/08/2016 13:00

Thank you!

Bloody hell Lemony that's amazing, well done! I'm going to read through all your posts from the last week to try and give myself a boost! Grin

Molly, let us know how the ice cream turns out if you make it!

Hi Batman! 2lb is still a great loss, don't beat yourself up about it! Good luck for weigh in tomorrow!

Changed my lunch plans - just had a peppered Quorn steak with some syn-free BBQ sauce I made last night and a bag of microwave veg. Couldn't be bothered with anything more taxing!

EmilyK83 · 16/08/2016 15:16

Soooooo...SW just phoned, they want me to start as a consultant in Jan Smile

WingDefence · 16/08/2016 15:25

Yay Emily - congrats! You're going to be brilliant I'm sure! Grin

Excellent losses too and ALemon and Batman!

coulddowithanap I'd be starving if I only ate what you've written down. Today so far I've had
B 2x weetabix plus skimmed milk and bluebs (yes I know they aren't speed but had to go shopping) hexa and hexb
L Couscous with some tikki chicken chucked in, half a green pepper and two random hard boiled eggs. I'm still stuffed from that three hours on.
In between - pint of sugar-free vimto, a handful of strawberries.
D tonight will be veggie curry and rice (less for me than the family). Probably a muller light for pud.

Might use some syns on a glass of wine tonight in front of the TV.

WingDefence · 16/08/2016 15:28

Oh and this article on the SW website about snacks 10 syns or under is fantastic. online.slimmingworld.co.uk/useful-features/snacks-nibbles.aspx

I love the pyramids that show how you can have (eg) one bag of cheesy doritos for 10 syns or 20 laughing cow mini cheese bites!

Should've said D will be SW recipe curry.

chough · 16/08/2016 15:29

Hello, all.
Batman, 2lb is a good loss, so don't be disappointed. Maybe some of the food you ate the previous week, before starting SW, was still to show on the scales, if you know what I mean. Your next weigh-in will give a better picture.
Emily, congratulations on the Consultant offer.

ALemonyPea · 16/08/2016 16:43

Wings link for those going to group and not doing it online.

I like the pyramid as well Wing, although would still rather have the Doritos haha. I've not had Doritos since I started though. 10 syns can be used on so much more.

Well done in the consultation offer Emily, you'll be great at it.

So hot here today, it's lovely, and I'm not feeling hungry because of it. Dreading winter where I like to stuff my face with stodgy things.

B: fruit and a hifi bar
D: naked noodles, pufts (3.5 syns). No speed, but I was at my sisters
T: SW sweet and sour chicken with veggie rice
Snack: yoghurt lolly (2.5 syns)

wishingchair1 · 16/08/2016 18:29

Molly, i have just made wheat bran muffins. I used two eggs, 60g wheat bran some ff nat yog, pepper and paprika. They were too eggy for me (i don't like eggs) but to behonest i think if you had them with a breakfast ie beans etc could be a bit like a bread roll.
I'm wondering if i could make a dough with it. Some yeast, water, grind up the wheat bran. Or does anyone think i would need to add some strong bread flour. Does anyone have syns for flour or if any is hexb.

I have just bought some kerry low low spreadable mature cheddar. Half a tub is hex a. It is just what to have it on.
