Well done losers + good luck Emily!

Today B scrambled eggs, smoked salmon and mushrooms, wholemeal thin HeB, 1 syn of butter,HeA milk
L nothing, mega busy
Snack apple, ham, tomato
D spag bol, + roast veg and salad
Turkish delight mullerlight.. Can't decide if I like it or not lol!
Staying low syn after after going over on Sunday. Bit gutted with myself as I'd definitely lost between wed-sun with lower syn days and scan bran, but after flexi day at friends on Sunday I feel really bloated and bigger again. I think I'll cry on the scales if have another gain Blush.
Day out with DC tmr, just cooked some salmon and chicken bits to take with us, loads of salad for me and little DD who loves her raw veg. DS won't touch the stuff!

Aspergallus · 09/08/2016 23:03

Hit 1st 7lbs at WI tonight. Really pleased. Have been quite unwell (and therefore a bit quiet) past 2 weeks but haven't succumbed to the boredom munchies.

MollyRedskirts · 10/08/2016 09:03

Well done, losers!

Positive - a patisserie chef! Shock You must have incredible willpower!

I'm determined to climb back on plan today, and stay there until my night out on Sunday.

I have vague plans for food that include making a massive pan of chicken noodle soup. I also have leftover cowboy pie in the fridge, without mash, so with some aging broccoli, that'll do for lunch.

I'm planning on saving my HEX so I can have cheesy beans on toast for tea. I watched that programme last night on iplayer about how baked beans are manufactured. It was fascinating!

Someone asked what my keema curry recipe is, downthread. Answer: don't have one. I tend to look in the SW curry book or site for recipes, then if there isn't one or I don't think it sounds nice, I search the BBC sites and the like. I'm terrible for not following recipes anyway, I always end up altering them.

Who's going camping? (Terrible memory for names, especially usernames, and my phone won't let me scroll to check. Sorry!) What about taking some peppers and tomatoes for speed? They'll last not being in the fridge and you don't even need to chop the peppers, you can break them up with your hands and feel alll grrr and outdoorsy.

Heck sausages are low syn, but only some of them, so check the app. The paprika and chicken italia are quite low. They'd be good. I'd take a few things that can be made up with hot water, like mugshots and Ainsley Harriott cous cous.

chough · 10/08/2016 15:31

Hello, all.
I liked em's in- depth description of her chocolate sundae: it was like she was re- living it.

EmilyK83 · 10/08/2016 16:23

Well today's been a bit crap.

B - green tea. Was at a press launch.
L - a small bite of a sausage roll (thanks to the press launch), then a skinny latte at a new client meeting
D - will be pasta Bolognese with some veg

Oops.

froubylou · 10/08/2016 16:40

Hello all

Feel much better today thank god. Haven't time to be ill and I hate the house getting a tip around me.

Was my WI this morning. I missed last week and was off plan probably 4 days out of 7. And then was off again Monday and Tuesday as I was ill. But managed to sneak in a 1lb loss so happy with that.

Been busy today so not had much at all.

B. Coffee
L. Missed it as was out and about. Just had a pear to get me to teatime.
T. Roast chicken nando style, jacket potato and salad.

Sixpencenonethericher · 10/08/2016 17:38

Hiya I've lost nearly 2 stone before and after pics. Still got 4 stone to go

Hello all, feeling really fed up with myself. I've been doing this for a couple of months now and have only lost half a stone - I do fine on a 'normal' week but then on holiday or weekends away where we eat out a lot, I put a couple of pounds back on. I need to give myself a kick up the bum and go back to basics I think.

I'm also REALLY fed up with green salads. I have salad for lunch every day and am starting to feel like if I see another plate of lettuce or spinach I'll scream. What is everyone's favourite salad that doesn't have a ton of lettuce in it?!

I really do love this thread, you are all so inspiring and supportive of each other.

EmilyK83 · 10/08/2016 17:52

Well done on the loss frouby!

Wow Sixpence, can really see the change there, you must be so happy with how it's going!

Hey noodle! Is there any way you can make more SW-friendly choices when eating out, or reduce syns slightly during the week to make up for it?

Salad-wise, I've been making a lush one with grated carrots, chickpeas and HexB dried apricots, with a dressing made from lemon juice, ras el hanout, cinnamon and synned honey. Kinda Moroccan-style - it's lovely!

Sixpencenonethericher · 10/08/2016 17:58

Thanks I can't see it yet i can only notice in my clothes x

ALemonyPea · 10/08/2016 18:20

Well done on the losses.

You can def tell in the photos Six. Well done.

Had an impromptu day trip out today, so hadn't anything in for myself, but bought a chilli chicken noodle salad from Tesco for 4 syns and some propercorn salted popcorn, also 4 syns, instead of the McDonalds everyone else had.

All in all, a good day. I do feel quite hungry now though, but think that's more thirst than hunger.

B: fruit, apricots for HEB, yoghurt
D: chilli chicken salad
T: bacon and mushroom frittata, salad

froubylou · 10/08/2016 18:24

Noodle I struggle on days out too. I do better when I have a plan. So try looking at food choices for the places you are going to beforehand. If not jacket potatoes are good if they do them. If not ask for a full salad instead of carbs with a steak or chicken portion.

But I do give myself permission to be off plan on special days. We had a long weekend staycation type weekend last week. Dp was off and the weather was nice so we had days out and a bbq. But that was unusual so I made the most of it.

Other good swaps are boiled rice with Indian or chinese food. Salad instead of chips etc. If you like a drink spirits and a diet mixer instead of lager or wine.

I am planning on aiming for a steady 1lb a week loss until the school holidays are over.

noodlezoodle · 10/08/2016 18:29

Thanks emily and frouby, you're right, I do need to plan ahead better when I'm eating out. I think I still have the mindset that because it's a meal out it's a treat and I can have whatever I like, whereas really I need to be thinking of it as a normal part of life and to make better choices. Or if I don't make better choices, not to moan about the lack of progress Smile

Emily that carrot salad sounds delicious, I might give it a go.

WhenTheDragonsCame · 10/08/2016 19:02

MollyRedSkirts, that was me going camping. Thank you for the tips.

I have bought some chicken legs which I am planning on roasting tomorrow and taking to heat up on the BBQ Friday night. I can then have a couple of those (no skin), a burger and some salad followed by some fruit. I picked up some Hifi bars at WI(banana and double choc) which I am taking as well.

Iceland have a special offer at the moment (might be delivery only) where when you buy 3 slimming world products you get a bag of frozen berries free. If you spend £30 delivery is free.

Our holiday at the end of the month is going to be staying in 4 different Premier Inns so we will be eating out every night. I am going to try and make sensible choices but I am not holding out much hope for a loss that week!

Brunch = Fry up including bacon, fried pots, mushrooms, tomatoes, beans, an egg and toast
Dinner = tomato, mushroom, red pepper, spring onion and garam masala omelette with lettuce and cucumber.

MollyRedskirts · 10/08/2016 20:36

Favourite salad: tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, mint, coriander, pomegranate, healthy A of feta (but just as nice without). Goes fabulously with Aldi's minted lamb kebabs, 2 syns each.

MollyRedskirts · 10/08/2016 20:37

It works with watermelon instead of pomegranate too.

puppydogmummy · 10/08/2016 20:39

Feeling a bit autumnal here so I got out the slow cooker and made a sort of aubergine tomato stew..... Just home from work and am RAVENOUS! Having the stew with pasta it's yum. Think slow cooker def being used more this coming season esp on my late work nights Grin

froubylou · 10/08/2016 20:46

A simple tomato salad goes nicely with ryvitas too. Just chop up tomatos and a bit of basil. Chuck in a bit of feta if you fancy it. I had it last week with that mackerel pate for speed and it worked really well.

I also find different lettuce makes a big difference to flavour. I do a ceaser salad type salad with romaine lettuce, tuna, soft boiled egg and a sprinkle of parmasean cheese. I use a ff dressing or you could syn some proper ceaser dressing if you wanted or use ff yogurt.

I do tsaki (sp) dressing with ff yoghurt, mint and cucumber. Or you can make mint yoghurt sauce with ff yog and mint.

And I want to try and make an American style coleslaw too. It tastes of dill so need to Google what is in it and try and make my own.

chough · 10/08/2016 20:54

puppydogmummy, the Schwarz slow cooker recipe mixes have only a few syns in them, working out at about 1 or 2 syns per portion.
Just add meat and veg according to instructions on pack.
We had the chicken curry one for last Sunday's lunch, when we returned from a forest dog walk.
I had mine with cauli rice, which I've still not decided whether I like!

maygirl · 10/08/2016 22:06

Measley 0.5 pound off . well done other losers and looking good Sixpence!
B bacon in lettuce as a wrap. HeA milk in coffee
L picnic out with DC, took salad of raw courgetti and veggie sticks with homemade free dressing, salmon, chicken bits, 2 ryvita heB with philli light 3syns , grapes. Steered clear of National Trust cafe!
Weigh in with few tasters, but wasn't much there tbh, was hoping to get my dinner lol!
D pasta with mixed beans. Slice chilli cheese 5.5 syns. Pimms 3 syns . Nearly had a pissed off post weigh in binge but headed it off with the cheese n drink. .. Not great but not a disaster!

Puppy the SW pulled pork is my favourite slow cooker meal, with a heB roll and homemade coleslaw .

Sixpencenonethericher · 11/08/2016 08:12

Morning I lost 2 pound this week 1 stone 12 now good luck any other wwighers

EmilyK83 · 11/08/2016 08:53

Well done May and Sixpence!

After a shitty day yesterday, I'm focused again today - work issues but I'm not going to let them affect this!!

B - fruit
L - egg and laughing cow extra light sandwich (2 syns for the cheese) and chopped carrots, celery, cucumber
D - pasta with chicken liver ragu and veg

Skinny latte as HexA, bread at lunch as HexB. Aiming for 5-10 syns...

emwithme · 11/08/2016 09:03

Well last night's fish and chips was glorious even though I am an idiot and left my purse at home, fortunately DH had his wallet and it is nearly time for me to leave for weigh in and my poo hasn't arrived! It's normally here by now. I have another 10 minutes before I have to leave for group and it needs to have happened by then or I will definitely have a giant gain this morning (rather than the tiny gain I am expecting Grin )

Today's plan is group (leaving DH and DN in their respective beds, because I can) and then off to Clark's Village to go school shoe shopping (I am such a mug good aunty that I volunteer to do this - well, they are half price down here!) and nice bra shopping and possibly chocolate shopping then it's time for DN to go to her other aunty and I am child free again, so it's back on plan tonight.

Today's food:

Breakfast: Overnight oats (HEB)
Lunch: Subway salad (before we go to Street) or possibly something nice from Pret or Starbucks (while we are at Street), depending on when DN has brekkie.
Dinner: DH has mentioned that he would like a decent sausage, so I'll get some Heck ones when I'm on my way home. Probably sausage, mash and onion gravy.
