I've been on plan so far, it's just fighting that feeling that makes me want to seek comfort in food. Me and DH are having our first child-free night out this week since having DS2. It was a difficult pregnancy, so we've not actually had a night out for two years. I am definitely, definitely not going to be on plan for that, so I need to be on plan leading up to it.

Breakfast: strawberries, nectarine with 2 syns choc shot, yogurt.
Snack: Peanut hi-fi for HEB, pack Aldi quavers for 3 syns.
Lunch: Probably a Subway salad
Tea: Mince to use up, thinking either spag bol or keema curry depending on what DH fancies and whether I manage to clear Dish Mountain before cooking again.

ALemonyPea · 08/08/2016 13:01

Keema curry sounds interesting. What's the recipe?

Definitely go off plan for your first night out post DC. I think that's a rule.

chough · 08/08/2016 13:07

Well done all, on losses.
At WI today, I've gained the pound that I'd lost last week, so I'm back to where I was when I returned to SW two weeks ago after not attending group for a few months!
I've definitely not gone over on syns, but I know I could have had more speed food, and could have been more sensible about portion control, so they are the things I will change this week.
My consultant was talking today about 2 scan bran a day being a good weight loss boost, so I will do that, too.

gadget1974 · 08/08/2016 13:28

Hi All, god I'm crap at updating on this thread. Last week was a 3lb loss after a 2lb gain the week before. Going for final WI tonight before holiday. Fingers crossed it will be 3lb as that will give me a 2.5 st loss over a 12 week period.

I have to ask, do any of you have a person in your group that doesn't seem to understand how SW works? We have one, she loses a lb then puts on a lb. She says she doesn't know why she's not losing more, personally I think it might be down to the whole box of Hi-fi bars she eats immediately after weigh in - yes all six of them one after the other.

froubylou · 08/08/2016 14:13

Afternoon all

Feeling a bit meh today. Really tired and my tummy is a bit sore. Af arrived last night which isn't helping but tummy ache not a period pain ache. More acid than anything else. I was going to blitz the kitchen but think I am going to snuggle up with ds instead. Felt rough yesterday too.

Hate not feeling 100%.

B. Coffee
L. Ryvitas and ff cottage cheese
T. Lamb skewers and salad and rice.

EmilyK83 · 08/08/2016 14:18

Big hugs Molly, and hope you feel better soon frouby!

Gadget - we have one of those - loses and gains the same pound or two (and sometimes gains more). Claims she's sticking to plan, doesn't go over syns etc - but we doubted it a few months back when she told us she'd been having Asda salad pots for lunch that worked out at 15.5 syns each. Don't think she's looking up syn values of stuff before eating them, but doesn't seem to want to do food diaries either - frustrating, as everyone wants her to do well but she doesn't seem to realise that she needs to do the food diaries for people to be able to help!

Comeonmommy · 08/08/2016 16:16

I'm so far off plan I can't even see it!!!!!

Had a fantastic family weekend as I haven't been feeling very well which was great but I struggle with chronic pain and ME so am paying for it today. Then, add to it that my grandad passed away last night and I'm tired and emotional and junk food is my friend. So far today I have eaten a bagel, salt vinegar crisps, a mini twix and mini drifter plus some chewitts ...... that's under 10 syns, right??

chough · 08/08/2016 16:20

Comeonmommy, sorry to hear about the loss of your grandad.
I like your "10 syn" feast.
A few extra syns at a difficult time for you won't matter: you can just start again.

ALemonyPea · 08/08/2016 18:33

Sorry for your loss ComeOn Flowers I think your list is on the 'free in times of need' list.

Weigh day tomorrow. My scales say I've lost, but they mock me sometimes.mill be happy to have stayed the same after my three days off plan.

EmilyK83 · 08/08/2016 18:53

So sorry Comeon Flowers extra syns at times like this are completely understandable!

Good luck for tomorrow Lemony!

Not posted a food pic in a while - so here's my tea: homemade burger with plastic cheese and gherkins, SW chips and salad!

Lianne852 · 08/08/2016 20:47

Can you tell me if I want a rose wine and no sugar lemonade how many sins is a class xxx

ALemonyPea · 08/08/2016 20:57

Hi Leanne, welcome. Depends on the size of the glass in how much wine you had really. There are 5-6 syns in 125ml of rose wine for a guide.

puppydogmummy · 08/08/2016 21:58

Woohoo! 4 lbs off tonight! Great meeting too all in stitches trying to work out what the best sweets were for sun value and if girl jelly babies have less Suns than girls lol. You can guess the level of our humour.Grin

MollyRedskirts · 08/08/2016 22:06

I'm sorry ComeOn. Losing people is bloody shit. It sounds like we have similar medical stuff going on too. I've not got an ME diagnosis, the most it's ever been called is 'Post-Cancer Fatigue', but it's too long after my treatment for it to still be that, really. Beginning to think I might have fibromyalgia. Anyway, yay, two of us on this thread in the shit energy club. Wink

My day went to poo as expected, but as you all said, I will get back on it. It could have been much worse. I shared a pizza with DH instead of having a whole one to myself like I would have done once.

emwithme · 08/08/2016 22:16

So sorry for your loss, comeon

Today's breakfast: Scrambled eggs (my omelette failed Grin ) mushrooms and tomato.

Today's tea: Home made burgers, actifry chips, salad.

Let's just skim over the bit in between eh? A squishy white bread baguette with beef and onions, cooked in proper fat, and some proper chips, and then the biggest ice cream sundae ever

I am a bit grr though, because I came on this evening and I'm not due for another week Angry. Oh well, I can blame this week's gain on shark star week!

EmilyK83 · 08/08/2016 22:41

Hi Lianne!

Puppy, that's an amazing loss, well done!!

Em...I want your lunch!!! Grin

WhenTheDragonsCame · 08/08/2016 23:59

Hello

I joined slimming world 2 weeks ago as I have put on 2 stone in the last year!

I haven't weighed in yet as I was on holiday for all of the sessions last week so tomorrow is my first one.

I have seen people talk about recipes that have been "tweaked". Can somebody explain what this means please?

Thank you Smile

TobleroneBoo · 09/08/2016 07:11

I made slimming world crispy chilli beef last night - it wasn't crispy but it was delicious!

EmilyK83 · 09/08/2016 07:19

Ooh Toblerone that sounds amazing!!

Hi Dragons - good luck tomorrow! A tweak is when you're using a free food for a different purpose to what it's intended for, which can lead you to have more calories than you would otherwise...things like using smash to make a pizza base or potatoes to make "SW crisps". Or couscous as an alternative to flour to make a cake. While they're free foods, the premise is that you're not using them for the normal purpose and they're normally used for snacks rather than main meals, and because they can add extra calories, tweaks should in theory be synned...

Lookproperly · 09/08/2016 07:45

Hi all, would it be ok if I jumped into your thread? Rejoined SW about 8 weeks ago. Have lost 9.5lb so far, currently weigh 11st 2lb.

A bit disappointed with my progress especially as I'm going on holiday for a fortnight on Saturday and had hoped to have lost more by then.

My downfall is mainly stupid mindless over-eating treats before bed. I often have a fairly good on-plan day, then allow myself a treat before bed (which is within my syn allowance)- but I don't stop at one and it all goes downhill from there!

I also think I eat too much in an attempt to prevent myself getting hungry and making a bad decision- e.g. Last week I ate a whole melon for a snack.

I'm trying to learn from my mistakes and will keep on going albeit a bit slowly!

So breakfast was lean bacon, egg, and bubble and squeak.

Lianne852 · 09/08/2016 08:11

Morning aww thanks you for being so welcoming. I lost 4lb last week and 2 this week. So its coming off. I haven't been on holiday since have the babies one after the other 4 years ago because of my body. So I really need to get it off so that I don't spend the whole holiday crying at my body. Got until May so hopefully. U women with the before and after pics are really inspiring me that I can do it xxxx

gadget1974 · 09/08/2016 08:23

HI All, weigh in last night and I lost 2lb, bit annoyed as I wanted 3lb which would have given me 2.5 stone since I started 12 weeks ago. Weighed myself this morning and had I gone to my normal weigh in (normally go on tuesdays) I would have made it. Ah well. On holiday now for 3 weeks so officially off plan!

Lianne852 · 09/08/2016 09:31

Wow 2.5 stone that's amazing well done. I hope I am saying that in a few months. Xx

Comeonmommy · 09/08/2016 10:18

Hi Molly, I've also got fibromyalgia. I don't know about you but I find It's really hard some days staying to plan!!! Waking up exhausted and in pain doesn't fill you with enthusiasm to eat fruit and veg!!! I'd say I just need to embrace my weight but I won't stay the same - I'm putting on about a stone a year thanks to meds so being on plan mainly keeps me staying the same. Not sure how I turn it into weight loss - need to find a way to step it up a gear!!
