Yep Wing - chicken livers are free Smile

Hey Chris! There's so much support and motivation and so many ideas in these threads - hopefully we can all help you get back on track!

PositiveAttitude · 03/08/2016 18:54

Empty The scan bran challenge is having Scan bran as your HEB for 4 days (5 scan bran). It is mega high in fibre and for some people it gives a boost to weight loss when done for the occasional week. I lost 5.5lb last week doing it for 3 days, so I think it worked for me. There are loads of recipes and ideas online as to how to eat them because they are quite like unappetising carpet tiles.

maygirl · 03/08/2016 21:48

Totally fed up, back up a pound and I'd tried really hard this week. Got to make some drastic changes as doing the same thing each week is getting me nowhere.
So I've got scan bran, will up speed veg and stick to 8 syns in the week, 15 at weekend.
Today
B redcurrant flan 1_syn with more redcurrants, sweetened quark
Nectarine
HeA milk in coffees
Dance class
L ate out, chose a tuna salad, was a little Mayo on it, counting 5 syns . they were out of my first 2 choices of a jacket potato or omelette. - had looked at menu online before
Back to gym for boxing class
D chickpea curry, rice, poppadoms 4 syns, mango chutney 2 syns after WI. Too cross to add more salad! Angry

Comeonmommy · 03/08/2016 22:45

Thank you all for your support, I am back on trackSmile. Well done to all you losers......can't wait til I can announce some loses - I'm getting there a lb at a time Wink

chough · 04/08/2016 08:04

maygirl, try not to be too despondent at that gain: it's disappointing when we know we don't deserve it. Sometimes, there's just no explanation.
You will probably have a good loss at next WI, as your efforts from last week will be "in the bank".
You just have to make sure that your disappointment doesn't put you off making such a good effort this week, but it sounds as though you are keen not to do that.

EmilyK83 · 04/08/2016 08:11

Maygirl - it can sometimes take a few weeks for losses to show after a really good week - hopefully next week you'll have an amazing loss!

Well...we're off to a restaurant launch party tonight but I'm planning on eating beforehand so I don't end up having too many of the nibbles, haha! So this is today's plan...

B - fruit
L - leftover carrot soup, maybe a boiled egg on the side
D - going to attempt a syn-free creamy gammon and mustard pasta, with veg on the side.

Skinny latte as HexA, Hifi bars as HexB. Finished yesterday on 5 syns, today will be more with the launch but I don't mind Smile

WingDefence · 04/08/2016 09:46

Emily in my head I imagine you to be Tracy Macleod (Independent critic, often on Masterchef), swanning off to all these restaurants to review them! Grin

Welcome Chris and that is such a pain maygirl :( Sounds like you stuck to plan totally yesterday though and I'm impressed with all that exercise!

Had fun with my friends last night. Did loads of SW wedges (some just salt & pepper, some with italian garlic seasoning), the hummus was AMAZING thank you feral! It was a bit of a faff blending it but when I'd finished and gave it a taste I actually asked myself why I'd never made it before - I love hummus but the shop bought stuff is just so syn-ful. Might be my new addiction! Did that with crudites.

We were all stuffed after eating that lot that we never got onto the fruit so I didn't make the choc dip. I just hope it doesn't all go off before we get back (although I may see if I've got room in my freezer). Thanks for all the tips. You lot are great!

Finished on 5.5 syns yesterday for the scan bran.

B weetabix hexb + milk hexa plus blackberries and blueberries (forgot to make overnight scan bran last night)
L SW hummus and crudites left over from last night or I may keep those for the train journey tomorrow and have a jacket pot instead.
D prawn stir fry w/ dried noodles.

I need to stay motivated this weekend going to London. We've booked into Gaucho tomorrow evening with the DCs which used to be DH and my favourite date restaurant so lots of lovely steak.

Sixpencenonethericher · 04/08/2016 09:57

Morning all a miracle has occurred here I lost 2 pound

MollyRedskirts · 04/08/2016 10:37

Aw Maygirl, chin up, it happens to the best of us. I would tell you to pull up your big girl pants, but none of us want to be wearing them. Wink You did really well and I bet you you'll see the results next week.

Wing, I am drooling over your dinner party thinger. I can never get my hommous right, I think I miss the tahini when I try and make it SW.

Sixpence, quick! Try turning water into syn free wine! Well done.

I've just had breakfast and I'm still bloody hungry. My big cat came for a cuddle and he smells suspiciously cheesy and not in a good way, but he made my mouth water which is utterly disgusting and if you'll excuse me, I need to go and wash my cat.

froubylou · 04/08/2016 10:41

Hello all

Well done losers! It's my WI tonight and am not optimistic. Had a crap week of too many takeaways and not enough speed. As long as I scrape through with a Sts I will be happy.

May are you measuring your stats as well as weighing? Are you maybe doing more dance so maybe toning up a bit?

Bloody dp is pumping up the air in dds bike for me to go on a bike ride with him. Ffs. I haven't ridden a bike for 20 years. DD is finding it hilarious. I only agreed last night as I was 2 gins up.

If I don't come back to this thread I have fallen in the lake.

EmilyK83 · 04/08/2016 10:41

Haha Wing - I wish! She probably earns a hell of a lot more for it than I do Wink

Sixpence that's amazing, well done!

Sixpencenonethericher · 04/08/2016 11:07

Thanks girls , I don't normally count any syns on weigh day and I bought a cinnamon bun to eat today but I don't want it I want to be good all week

emwithme · 04/08/2016 13:55

Pissed off. Only lost 1/2 lb after being 100% on plan all week, and switching up my HEBs a bit too. Oh well...as others have said, it should hopefully show next week. Onwards and downwards...16lbs to target.

Sixpencenonethericher · 04/08/2016 14:12

It's weird I stayed 100 per cent lost 1 pound one week had a few bad days and lost 3 pound
Not surprised your pissed off em you might have a lot more next week

sglodion · 04/08/2016 14:13

Can I join please? Joined for the first time last year but my heart wasn't in it and gave up after the first weigh in Blush
Started again this Monday, am 12 stone 8.5lbs at 5ft 3. First goal is going to be 10.5 stone. OH is doing it with me which is helping tremendously because when one of us is having a weak moment, the other pushes us along. Fingers crossed for a good result first weigh in!

PositiveAttitude · 04/08/2016 15:16

Well done losers!

For those not so happy - keep going. I find it encouraging to read the personal stories online of those who have kept going and pushed through the tough times to get to their target. Everyone has tough times, and that is why SW is so good, cos we can all encourage each other and while some are having bad times, others are having surprising good times, like sixpence ( well done, by the way!)

Welcome, sglodion - it makes such a difference if you do this with someone else. DD1 and I are doing it together and it is really good to bounce ideas around and talk through meals, syns etc.....no one else in the family would be in the slightest bit interested if I tried to discuss with them!

Birthday food was a SW disaster yesterday but bloody lush!! so I wanted to get back 100% today - hmmmmm not quite worked. I had my 2 year old grandson this morning and he wanted a picnic at the park, packed the picnic and off we went - picnic lunch all devoured by 11am, so by 12:30 he wanted lunch number 2!!! He wanted to share his lunch ( 1 & 2) with me, so I have already over indulged today! Blush I think I will stick with a couple of Heck sausages for dinner with as much speed veg as I can get on the plate. Only 24 hours off plan and I feel like a really fat slob again. Sad Angry

wonkylampshade · 04/08/2016 16:01

Does anyone have a dedinitive answer for frozen peas? I see lot of others asking online whether they are syns or not?

wonkylampshade · 04/08/2016 16:01

*definitive

maygirl · 04/08/2016 16:07

Well done sixpence and Em, and welcome sglodion.
Thanks for the pep talk everyone, big girl pants pulled up under armpits and I'm attacking this!
B overnight scanbran heB in coffee flavoured quark and sweet freedom 2 syns, melon. Half heA skim milk in coffee
L prawns and melon followed by leftover bits from fridge- pulled pork, tiny bit h/m coleslaw 0.5 syn, pepper, cucumber , concentrated on eating extra slowly and not stuffing myself!

D will be roast chicken with roast butternut and veg. Looks like turning out to be an SP day. Might have rest of heA as 12g cheese with fruit after dinner.
Booked into gym for kettlebells.
I feel the same inches wise as clothes same as ever, but I have been thinking today about trying to choose more fitted clothes, I think my jeggings have a lot to answer for ! In my young thinner days my skirts and jeans had no extra room in them so if had a small gain or ate too much at a meal I really knew about it and pulled things back immediately!

chough · 04/08/2016 16:08

wonky, frozen peas are definitely free.
They're not a speed food, though, so maybe that's the cause of confusion.
You can have them on SP days, as they are P (protein).

maygirl · 04/08/2016 16:09

Frozen peas are syn free but don't count towards your third of a plate speed

emwithme · 04/08/2016 17:23

Yup. Frozen peas (and fresh peas) are a "P" so you can have them on an SP day but on a normal EE day they don't count towards your 1/3 speed.

Having an SP day today:

Breakfast (post WI): Breakfast muffins
Lunch: Ham salad, apple, pear, satsumas
Dinner: Salmon fillet with ribbon cut stir fry veg
HEA: Milk
HEB1: Cashew nuts
HEB2: Hifi bars.

Twinklestar2 · 04/08/2016 18:24

I succumbed to chocolate yesterday Blush

Today's menu

Berries and mullerlight, latte as hex a

Wholemeal roll - hex b - with chicken and salad

Fruit for snacks

Dinner is shepherds pie and veg

Off to the gym too reluctantly

Chrisinthemorning · 04/08/2016 18:44

I've had
B- berries, skimmed milk, crunchy bran cereal
L- crayfish salad, no dressing, Muller light
S- chicken breast chunks
D- chilli and rice
8 Syns of white wine

WingDefence · 04/08/2016 20:09

How'd you get on frouby? Welcome sglodion (unusual NN!), unlucky em and well done sixpence. Some good words there Positive.

So I'm on 6.5 syns so far and I've just found out that hula hoops puft are only 3.5 a bag! I bought some for DS for packed lunches this week but he didn't like them - result Grin

Going to make overnight SB for breakfast tomorrow and take all the leftover crudites and homemade hummus (didn't have it at lunchtime) on the train plus a bag of strawbs/blackbs/bluebs. And watch DH and the DCs eat sarnies, biscuits and choc no doubt but if I can save syns so don't have to worry as much when we're out with family on Sunday I don't mind.
