Can I get scan bran online? I'm only a member online.

WingDefence · 03/08/2016 10:18

Hi Life - I'm an online member too and I bought mine on Holland & Barrett. Someone on facebook mentioned that it was in the 1p deal at the moment but they may have sold out but have a look.

I was just having a skim of some articles on the SW website and found this really good one about what to do when you've gained. But the articles and also the comments actually talk about what to do when you think you've screwed up and how to try not to throw it all away. I thought Comeon and all of us could benefit from some of the tips:

Morning all I was good yesterday and I will be today but I'm dreading wi on Thursday

chough · 03/08/2016 10:39

Life and Wing, yes, apart from in group,I 've only ever seen scan bran for sale in Holland and Barrett.
If there's not one near you, maybe they sell online?

MollyRedskirts · 03/08/2016 10:55

Buttwing, you are far from being alone feeling like that. It's really common, and I'm a victim of it myself. It's SCARY thinking about being at target. I'm reaching the weight where I always stall and have given up at this point before.

I'm trying to overcome it by pretending I'm at target now, if that makes sense? I'm not going mad with buying new clothes but if I see something I really like, I'll buy it now, where in the past I'd think 'No point, I'm trying to lose weight'. I think this time around I'm being kinder to myself and it is working.

WingDefence · 03/08/2016 11:05

chough I got my SB from H&B online and bought a fuckton to get free p&p!

WingDefence · 03/08/2016 12:23

My overnight scan bran. Definitely makes the SB palatable! I love overnight oats but this makes a welcome change and a very easy way to get 5 SB in when doing the challenge (which I'm going to try to do for the next couple of days as we are popping down to London Friday/Saturday with the DCs by train).

chough · 03/08/2016 13:04

Wing, the scan bran certainly needs to be made palatable; it couldn't be eaten without being moistened in some way.
Molly and Buttwing, a couple of members in my group this week were talking about how they find staying in target more difficult than losing the weight, when they felt that they were more motivated, as they knew what to do and had a goal to aim for.
To be honest, the consultant didn't really offer them any useful advice, and wasn't particularly sympathetic, either. I felt disappointed for them.
Her attitude was " you've got to target, so what are you worrying about?", but that was no help to them, and I think they went away quite fed up.

PositiveAttitude · 03/08/2016 13:55

Blimey Wing how many did you have to order to get the free delivery?? I have just ordered 12 packs and only paid £8. Shock

Buttwing · 03/08/2016 14:08

Awhh thanks guys it's good to know I'm not losing my marbles just yet!

Emily so so true what you said about having control of food I'd forgotten how good that feels! It's made me want to be in that place again. I've had a great day so far and feeling much more positive as well as my food I've also decided to sort out all the crap in my house too. I've de cluttered the office while the baby is sleeping, I've filed everything that's been hanging around for ages and chucked out two bin bags of rubbish. It also stopped me eatingGrin

Buttwing · 03/08/2016 14:09

Sorry meant to add well done emptynest that's a fab loss!

Emptynestx2 · 03/08/2016 15:36

Thank you Buttwing, I'm going away tomorrow so it will probably balance out but I'm hopefully on the right track!

Can someone tell me what scan bran is and what's the challenge? I could try and pick some up when I'm in the UK this week.

WingDefence · 03/08/2016 15:40

Positive I'm a dunce - I just looked up my order to answer your question and I realised that I bought 7 packs but for some reason I must've thought 'buying shed loads of SB when I've never tried it before just to get free P&P is a DAFT idea' right at the last minute. So I didn't Blush

Still feels like I've got loads left though!

Today meals have been:
B weetabix hexB, milk hexA, banana (not speed I know)
L overnight SB with speed fruit, muler light, F yog
Snacks apple, nectarine.

So much sweet stuff that I was craving something savoury and have made myself a mug of bovril it's out of date but I'm sure I'll be fine, right? and eaten two slices of ham. Yum.

D tonight will be free & speedy veg soup I made yesterday to use up some old veg and then when my friends come over I'll cook some SW wedges with a quark garlic dip thing I'm going to make up, perhaps some crudites, plus more speedy fruit and the quark/options mix.

I want to make the hummous but I don't have a food processor. I feel like I'm missing out - has anyone got any recommendations for a small FP that I don't need to keep out on the counter?

chough · 03/08/2016 15:48

Wing, I don't have a food processor, just a hand blender, and it's fine for making hummous, blended soups, etc.
Easy to wash and takes up little room in a drawer.

WingDefence · 03/08/2016 15:57

Ooh chough I never thought of that. I have one of those!

chough · 03/08/2016 15:59

Well, if you've got the hummous ingredients, you can make that to add to your spread now!

froubylou · 03/08/2016 17:23

Hello all

Been out for the day and.it wasn't a complete disaster. Though we are having takeaway tonight but I really am too tired to care.

B. Coffee
L. Chicken burger thing. Wasn't nice so disappointing to waste syns but hey Ho. And a banana.
T. Will be a curry of some sort and boiled rice.

It could have been a lot worse though. I didn't have ice cream or chips or bacon butties. Or any of the other lovely looking food. I didn't buy fudge or chocolates to bring home. And I pushed a heavy pram for frigging miles around mainly field. So go to have burned the chicken burger off.

Wi tomorrow night too so will weigh heavy anyway. Oh well. A St's would be ok I guess. Should stand me in good stead for a good loss next week I suppose.

EmilyK83 · 03/08/2016 17:23

Been a productive afternoon. Got some work done, and have just made syn-free chicken liver pate, got syn-free scotch eggs in the oven and a gammon joint boiling away on the hob! And I just had a pre-interview phone call with a SW person - I have a consultant interview next week!

feralcat19 · 03/08/2016 17:44

Ooo Emily, do you have recipes for your chicken liver pate and scotch egg?

Good luck for your consultant interview!!

WingDefence · 03/08/2016 17:47

Brilliant Emily on the interview and the productivity!

Frouby that all sounds reasonable and you may find it doesn't have time to turn into LBs at the scale by tomorrow night Wink

I have hummus/hummous/humous/hommous whatever ingredients now. Will let you know how I get on later.

chough · 03/08/2016 18:04

Wing, I wasn't sure about the spelling either, so I just copied you!

EmilyK83 · 03/08/2016 18:14

Thanks Wing and feral!

Feral - for the scotch eggs I just defrost a pack of Linda McCartney red onion and rosemary sausages, boil and peel 3 eggs, wrap the sausage "meat" round the eggs and cook them on a frylight sprayed tray in the oven at 180 for about half an hour.

Pate is a tub of Asda frozen chicken livers (about 225g) defrosted and chopped up, and pan fried till cooked with 1 chopped onion and 2-3 cloves of garlic. Then added some sage, salt and pepper and blitzed it together with about 3tbsp of quark!

WingDefence · 03/08/2016 18:19

Are chicken livers free? I can't stand liver but I love paté! The scotch eggs sound delicious too. Mmm.

Chrisinthemorning · 03/08/2016 18:21

Hello all
Can I join?
I did SW a year ago and lost 1.5 stone and got to target (10st). I've gained 6lb and feel rubbish. I need motivation.

noodlezoodle · 03/08/2016 18:30

Well done losers, some really great results there!

emily I love picnic-y stuff, that all sounds delicious, yum.

Had bacon, spinach and goat's cheese frittata for dinner last night which was delicious and there are enough leftovers for lunch today. I tried making the SW potato and carrot rosti to go with it which was also lovely. The two together were a bit too similar in consistency, but I'll definitely make the rosti again to go with eggs or something similar. My SW chips tend to be a bit of a failure as I can't seem to get them crispy enough so this was nicer.

Today will be:
B: weetabix
L: Frittata and salad
D: Hoi sin chicken meatballs and courgetti
