That does sound a good idea Chough. I love scrambled eggs but try not to have too much bread. So maybe once a week. So it never seems worth buying it as I can never fit it in the freezer.

Is it all ryvitas that are classed as a b choice or do I need to look at the app?

EmilyK83 · 31/07/2016 19:16

If you like chicken livers and are looking for budget recipes, I definitely recommend this:

cookingonabootstrap.com/2014/01/22/best-ever-bolognese-with-lentils-and-chicken-liver-49p/

Made it for dinner tonight, using a tub of Asda frozen chicken livers (50p) that I'd defrosted. It's not the best looking pasta sauce, but it tastes amazing - and it works out at under £1 per portion! So filling with the lentils too...

Em was it you recommended the waitrose frozen yogurt?

Holy crap that stuff is good!! I got some today and had after my Sunday dinner while the others had vienetta (we're a classy bunchWink) it was amazing!

I think it would be really good with strawberries and squirty cream.

B-banana and yogurt
L-half a pack of chicken and a benefit bar
D-roast lamb, roast potatoes, roast sweet potatoes, parsnips, carrots, broccoli, and spring greens.
too much frozen yogurt.

EmilyK83 · 31/07/2016 19:21

It's amazing isn't it!! There's a few of us in here who're addicted to it! I love how it tastes like actual ice cream rather than a diet option... Strawberries and squirty cream sound like an amazing idea!

chough · 31/07/2016 19:27

frouby, I think all the Ryvita crispbreads are "b" choices, but it's a different number of crispbreads for the various kinds.
I check HE's on SW website when I'm not sure.

emwithme · 31/07/2016 19:33

Isn't it the nicest diet chocolate thing EVER. I scarfed an entire tub last night watching the Minion movie (DH is away, it was fab).

Today's food:

Brunch: Bacon, eggs, beans, mushrooms, tomato
Dinner: Salmon fillet, sweet potato fries, salad (currently cooking it).

I really must do some housework. Or get a cleaner...

PositiveAttitude · 31/07/2016 19:37

Who was it on here that did the Scan Bran challenge? What was the weight loss outcome?

DD1 and I did it for 3 days this week - I know you are supposed to do it for 5 days, but the group had run out of scan bran, so we bought all we could. It wasn't too bad, but I have decided that it goes in one end like cardboard and comes out the other like sandpaper! Grin I just hope it was worth it - will find out on WI on Tuesday.

Today:
B - Fruit - Strawberries, grapes and raspberries
L - pasta bolognese with cheese (HE A)
D - SW sausages, poached egg, wholemeal toast (heB)and tomatoes. And a quark and white chocolate mousse (2 syns)

Snacks - Aldi curly fries (3 syns) and maybe more before bed.

EmilyK83 · 31/07/2016 20:12

I did it for 4 days, Positive...lost 2.5lb that week!

PositiveAttitude · 31/07/2016 21:57

Well done Emily. I am hoping for a good WI Tuesday after my 3 day torture challenge.

emwithme · 31/07/2016 22:49

I did it for 4 days and lost 2 lbs. I am otherwise a pound-a-week person (except for star week...have averaged 0.75 lbs a month)

noodlezoodle · 01/08/2016 01:49

I would love to join you all on this thread - I've been lurking for a few weeks (sorry, that sounds creepy doesn't it) and it has been so helpful as I've been getting used to SW.

I'm English but I live in America - SW isn't as widely known here as WW and there aren't any local groups so I'm doing it online. The plan is mostly the same except we have 2 HEA and 1 HEB and 10 syns. The US SW website is pretty hard to navigate and I've found this thread way more useful, and you're all so supportive of each other.

I've been doing this for a couple of months now and only lost 7lbs - partly because I'm slow and partly because I went on holiday back to England for 2 weeks and was not at all good about staying on plan!

Today has been:
B: weetabix
L: Jacket potato with HEA cheese and low fat cottage cheese & pineapple, plus a side salad
D: Not sure... going out so I need to try and be good...

EmilyK83 · 01/08/2016 07:59

Good luck for tomorrow Positive!

Hi noodle! Interesting that it's different in the US...very jealous of your two HexA! Interesting that you can only have 10 syns - are syn values of things the same over there as they are here?

My plan for today:

B - melon
L - mug shot (can't stand them but we're trying to clear out the cupboards and there are two that need using), Moroccan style carrot salad with HexB dried apricots
D - potato, chickpea and spinach curry, rice and veg

WingDefence · 01/08/2016 08:00

Welcome noodle! I think SW is going to be relaunching or having a big push in the States soon as a consultant near me who I follow on insta and FB has been having photo shoots for it...

So I was not looking forward to WI... But I only put on a pound! I suspect I had a good loss last week but didn't WI as I was away and that must've limited the damage. Phew! Grin

Sixpencenonethericher · 01/08/2016 08:53

Morning all good luck weighers I'm back on it today

Stella08 · 01/08/2016 09:00

Good morning. I lost 5st but since Feb I've regained 1.5st. Weigh day today and I've probably gained again. I'm gonna stay to class and get my head into gear again!!! I can't go back to where I was before!!! Good luck to everyone weighing in today Smile

EmilyK83 · 01/08/2016 09:20

Wow Stella, what a difference - you look amazing!

EmilyK83 · 01/08/2016 09:21

And well done Wing, that's good going for having that time off too!

MollyRedskirts · 01/08/2016 09:28

Morning all!

I need to go food shopping later in Aldi, but I'm having a massive brain fail and can't think what we need besides dishwasher tablets. Can't eat those!

emwithme · 01/08/2016 10:34

God I'd love 2 HEA, 1 HEB and 10 syns. Milk and cheese...yes please! I don't tend to have more than 10 syns a day except when I do and then it's WAAAAAAY over

DH has been delivered to his coach and is now on the M5 supervising 45 army cadets. I am at work half an hour early having had breakfast in the car.

Today's food:

Breakfast: breakfast muffins
Lunch: ham salad, apple, pear, satsumas
Dinner: Pork steak, sweet potato mash, mange tout.
HEA: Milk
HEB: Ryvita (with cottage cheese)

puppydogmummy · 01/08/2016 10:59

chough · 01/08/2016 13:43

Hello, all.
I returned to group last Monday after an absence of a few months. I have lost one pound today; I'm pleased with a loss, but would have liked more.
However, I don't think my weight last Monday was a true picture, as I'd only been back on plan for one day, after a week's holiday, eating my way around Yorkshire, and I think some of those excess syns were still to be converted into fat, IYKWIM!
On my way home from group, I joined a local gym, as my physio has recommended swimming and pool exercises to help recovery from an injury a few months ago ( reason for group attendance lapse). So, some body magic there to help.
Then, when I got home , I made some of em's breakfast muffins, and they're now out of the oven, cooling. I made enough for breakfasts for the next two days.

gedlams · 01/08/2016 15:23

New to this.. can anyone help. being going to SW since Jan and lost 1st 6lb but I have another stone to go, but I seem to be yo yoing at the moment and nothing I try seems to be working. I am doing everything by the book eating salads, lots of veg but nothing is working. every time I go on Wednesday I feel disheartened and I do not know if its just me but some weeks I can lose 3lbs and the next put it back on with extra even though I haven't done anything different? im sure the scales can not be that wrong.. can they!!

chough · 01/08/2016 15:48

Hello, gedlams.
Perhaps a talk with your consultant would help you; you could fill in a SAS log for her to look at and discuss with you.
A few possibilities:
Are you weighing healthy extras accurately, and not just guessing, likewise synned items such as butter or mayonnaise?
Are you having 5 to 15 syns a day; it's not the plan to have more and important not to have less.
Are you definitely having a third of a plate of speed foods, and making speed foods your first choice between meals?
Are you controlling portions and not overeating, eg one jacket potato is a normal portion, not two.
Your consultant could advise you to do a "fast forward" and would give you the details.
You have done really well so far, so don't give up: there will be an answer.
