Gipsy I don't stay to group as my toddler hates it. So if you don't get anything from. It stay for the first few and then make a decision if group is for you. You can get some good information from them though.

And although in theory you could eat a load of pasta you have to match free food with 1/3 speed food and eat to your appetite. Which will hopefully reduce by eating more speed food and reducing sugar.

maygirl · 30/07/2016 18:54

Gypsy there's a syns calculator on the app/website you can use if you have the nutritional info from the packet.

maygirl · 30/07/2016 19:06

Hope I don't get freezer surprise tonight! - on my way home late by train from Bridesmaid dress shopping , kids want pizza so I have asked DH to get one of my HeB balls of dough out I froze earlier this week... Hope he gets the right thing out, it's not labelled!

L out with girls during shopping trip, everyone ordered off 3 course meal deal menu but I stuck to 1 course even though ended up paying the same. Had steak with green bean and bean salad, actually asked for the butter sauce on the side which I never normally remember/want to do! Did enjoy a delicious Bellini for my days syns.

Took apple with me for the train.
B tweaked the SW apple betty recipe to use up my glut of redcurrants, swopping the fruit. 1 syn for cooked redcurrants. Served with sweetened quark.
HeA will be cheese on pizza if the right dough is ready for me!

Feeling good as originally assumed today would be totally off plan but I'm doing OK. Just gotta resist DH and kids shop pizza later.

ALemonyPea · 30/07/2016 19:56

I've been so good today. We went to the seaside and to a gelato shop, that makes the bestest gelato ever, and I didn't have any, apart from having to lick DHs on the way as it was dripping down my hand.

Gypsy, syn calculator on the website, or for a rou guide, there is 0.5 syns for every 20 calories. I've found the website is pretty good at getting new foods on.

Having pork chops for tea, I have even cut the fat off, which is my favouritest park normally.

GipsyDanger · 30/07/2016 20:19

Thanks for the links. Ill persevere, I'm still breastfeeding at the moment and the hunger pangs Shock
And I'm not overly keen on yogurts 😰
... Apples, does anyone else eat the whole thing, core seeds and all or is that just me Grin

maygirl · 30/07/2016 20:31

Ooo i thought it was 1 syn for 20 calorie?
Are you having your extra healthy extras that you get for breastfeeding Gypsy? How old is your little one?

Correct freezer item defrosted, had a very nice but somewhat small pizza with salad.

ALemonyPea · 30/07/2016 20:34

I'm not keen on yoghurts either, but I do like Danone light and free, which are SW free. Very tasty and thick, unlike crappy muller lights.

Re the eating as much pasta and losing weight, the whole point of having speed food is to replace a third of what you'd normally eat, so pasta, with much lower speedy foods, rather than having a fuckton of pasta and speedy foods.

Stick with it, it takes a few weeks for it to click what you need to do. I've been doing it 16 weeks now and it's become 2nd nature.

ALemonyPea · 30/07/2016 20:36

Ooo now it might be 1 syn. Hold on...

Oops, yes it is 1 syn for 20 calories. I think I was thinking of something else. Blush ignore me.

chough · 30/07/2016 20:43

Gipsy, don't forget that the 20 calorie/ 1 syn calculation only applies where there's no free food allowance.
So, if a small bar of chocolate contains 100 calories, it would be 5 syns, as there's no free food in it.
If you were calculating the syns for, say, a ready meal chicken curry and rice, there would be some free food in it ie. chicken, rice, so that affects syn value.

GipsyDanger · 30/07/2016 20:48

Cool, I get that now 👌🏻

Fikee · 30/07/2016 23:01

Hi all, I'm back from holidays and spent a week sort of half on / half off plan. I didn't eat anything like as badly as I would have before sw but I'm amazed at how bloated and crappy I feel now I'm home- though not so bad that I regret the fish and chips and clotted cream scones! I was thinking of doing a few eesp days to get rid of the bloat. I haven't done it before so any tips appreciated. It's basically sw with no carbs right?

froubylou · 31/07/2016 08:19

Fikee it's not no carbs. It's no free foods unless they have the s or p symbol. So basically all your speed or protein foods. You still get your hea and 2 b choices. So lower carb but you arent relying on the chemical change of no carbs but reducing your calories by replacing free food with more speed.

Made some soup yesterday with beans and cabbage in. Had a munchy attack last night and had another bowl full. Good job dp passed out on the sofa. Talk about windy! 😳😳

WingDefence · 31/07/2016 08:56

Frouby do you have a recipe for the soup or was it a chuck it all in job?!

chough · 31/07/2016 09:31

Fikee, some members of my SW group who'd had good losses last week were saying that they'd had a few SP meals, but not a full SP day, so that might be something for you to try.
So, perhaps a SP lunch, but then usual EE tea, with pasta or potatoes, or whatever.

Fikee · 31/07/2016 10:00

Thanks all. Actually I did a sneaky weigh-in at home this morning and I've only put on 1lb so still at my target weight! Still feel bigger though and can't shake that bloated horrible feeling so going to do a couple of eesp days to kick start me back on plan. Apple for breakfast so far, salad for lunch planned and chicken with lots of green speed veggies for dinner. Snacking only on fruit. Thinking about it i probably unintentionally easy eesp fairly regularly anyway.

froubylou · 31/07/2016 10:35

Wing it was from the hairy dieters book with a few t weeks.

1/2 cabbage
1 courgette
2 carrots
2 leeks
1 onion
1 fennel

2 tins of anchovies, drained
100ml of wine (if you want it)
(Recipe says 50g lean back bacon but didn't have any so used anchovies instead)

1 tin tomatoes
Enough stock to cover
A couple of handfuls of pasta
TiN of cannelloni beans
I also chucked in 50g of red lentils as it thickens it up a bit.

Melt the anchovies or fry your bacon off
Add the veg apart from courgette and cabbage, gently fry off until soft ish
Add wine if using and simmer until reduced by half

Add rest of veg and stock and berans. simmer for about 10 minutes or until veg soft, add pasta and cooK until pasta Al dente.

It sounds a bit of a faff but it isn't. Basically cook your hard veg, add everything else, simmer, add pasta and finish off.

Its very wind inducing though!

Sixpencenonethericher · 31/07/2016 10:49

Morning all I'm always reading but forget to post , I joined online in March and. I've lost 1 stone 8. But I've lost the plot and having the weekend off and I'll be good from tmrw , my weigh day is Thursday

Emptynestx2 · 31/07/2016 11:15

Hi sixpence, don't give up, I lost that much last year then lost the plot and it's all back on now, I regret it so much as I as still 1.5st from my target so now it's 3st again. I think my problem is that I can't see myself slim, I start getting there and feel better and then relax again.

Hope you get back on plan tomorrow x

Sixpencenonethericher · 31/07/2016 11:26

Thanks , I'm back on it.now despite my dh trying to get me to eat cake lol
Im ignoring him

EmilyK83 · 31/07/2016 14:16

1st 8 is brilliant sixpence - you can get back on it!

Today's meals for me:

B - none (oops) - well actually, a green tea...
L - egg wraps filled with tuna and sweetcorn mayo (1 syn for extra light mayo) and salad
D - chicken liver and lentil Bolognese with spaghetti. Never tried it before, but discovered frozen chicken livers for 50p a tub in Asda so I'm giving it a go!

Skinny latte for HexA, Alpen Lights for HexB. Managed to end yesterday on 10.5 syns, aiming for similar today...

MollyRedskirts · 31/07/2016 16:24

I'm another who is getting back on it. I went to a friend's party last weekend and as I never ever go out, and haven't been for years, I went gin-crazy. Which then turned into a half on, half off plan sort of week.

Still, I got weighed and it was only a 1.5lb gain which I am determined to wipe out this week!

B: Banana and custard mullerlight with 0.5 syn cooked rhubarb, cherries, blueberries, HEB of blueberry wheats. No speed because the sodding strawberries went mouldy.

L: 3 Birdseye vegetable fingers (6 syns), mash potato made with stock and 3 LCL blue cheese triangles (3/5 of HEA, will have remaining two later), cauliflower, processed peas, small amount mixed veg - carrots, broccoli, more cauliflower, peas.

D: No clue yet.

ALemonyPea · 31/07/2016 16:50

Welcome newbies

Bit of a random day today, trying to eat what we have in the house before our little break as don't want to buy anything fresh.

B: hifi bar
D: naked noodle pot, orange, peach, nectarine, yoghurt
T: burger, hea cheese, sweet potato chips, curried beans, salad

Sixpencenonethericher · 31/07/2016 17:09

I just ate 2 cupcakes oh well onwards and upwards

froubylou · 31/07/2016 17:36

We have just ordered chinese. Sigh.

I will have some chIcken chow mein and some beef in black bean sauce so nothing too horrendous.

B was poached eggs, bacon, beans, tomatos, and mushrooms. Nothing else so should be under 15 syn's if I don't make a pig of myself with Chinese tea.

The dog is also out of season now so lots of walking back on the cards.

Been a rubbish holidays so far. Sisters guinea pigs have had ringworm. It's highly contagious and we have ponies which we can pass it on to. Which means I have avoided all my family for the last 3 weeks incase any of them have it but don't know they do. If ponies get it it would mean no competING for rest of summer and its a pita to get rid of as the pores live in wood and stuff.

So we haven't been out and about half as much as we would usually. Next weekend we should be ok though. The dcs have missed their cousins especially ds. He is only 2 so doesn't understand.

Need to do a massive shop tomorrow. Everything looks a bit bare apart from the freezer which is full of farty soup!

Going to try and mix my b choices up a bit next week. Going to get brown bread in, have weetaBix and muesli already and might try ryvitas for a change.

I made some pate from pilchards and sea food sticks last year. It's lush I just need to remember how to do it lol.

chough · 31/07/2016 17:44

frouby, RE Ryvita as a "b" choice.
Had scrambled eggs for breakfast yesterday, and was going to have toast, but had run out of bread, so had 3 sesame Ryvitas with the eggs.
Not perfect, as no speed with it, but it was yummy.
