Wing, what Lemony said.
You'll be back on track on Monday, no problem.
One of the main things that DH and I like about holidays is meals out, and eating things we wouldn't usually have ( we both follow SW).
We just get back on plan when we get home.
I must say, though, that I seem to put weight on very easily: even after only a couple of days away, my clothes feel tight, and I think surely those extra calories can't be converted into fat so quickly.
It's like the fish and chips have been injected into my hips, rather than eaten.

Unthoughtknown · 29/07/2016 20:40

Hi all :waves:

Can I join? I've lost 9lbs on SW so far and have 6 to go to get to target...but I've maintained for a few weeks now. Trying to restart properly today.

Breakfast: Fibre 1 bar (4 syns)

Brunch: Omelette made with a babybel (half a HE), beans, cucumber

Tea: beef stirfry with rice and SW 5 spice sauce

Snacks
Babybel (other half of HE)
Grande skinny latte 6.5
Skimmed milk in tea 2

Forgot to have my HEB choice!

We are having an indian takeaway tomorrow.....i'll try to make a good choice

chough · 29/07/2016 20:52

Hello, Unthoughtknown, you're doing really well.
Ooh, I wouldn't forget to have my HEB choice! The night is young yet!

EmilyK83 · 29/07/2016 20:56

Agree - enjoy it Wing!

Hi Unthought!

I couldn't forget my b choice either! Was going to have dried fruit tonight, but just demolished a bowl of HexB muesli with fat free yoghurt mixed with sweetener and cinnamon for dessert instead...

Have decided that this weekend will be a batch cooking weekend. Made a mixed bean goulash tonight - some for dinner tomorrow, the rest for the freezer. Also going to make a chilli con carne and a potato, spinach and chickpea curry to freeze.

Tomorrow morning I'm off to an event thing to find out about becoming a SW consultant...

ALemonyPea · 29/07/2016 21:11

You'd make a great consultant Emily.

chough · 29/07/2016 21:18

Further to the not forgetting things, I did that SW" fast forward" a few years ago : it was very restrictive, so completely at odds with the usual "free food" practice, and I was obsessed with food for the week.
One of the meals was a mince, veg and tablespoon of kidney bean thing.
The day after this, I found a tin of kidney beans in the cupboard, wondered what I'd bought them for, then remembered I should have put them in with the mince.
I was distraught over missing out on that tablespoon of kidney beans ( still not had closure!).
Emily, that's exciting about the consultant event- hope it goes well.
If you've not already seen it, look at Nikki Ryan's "fopperholic" facebook page.

EmilyK83 · 29/07/2016 21:47

Awww thanks Lemony! Grin

Will update tomorrow Chough! And I'll search out that page now, thank you...

EmilyK83 · 30/07/2016 09:03

Today's plan:

B - apricots and fat free yoghurt
L - ham and laughing cow extra light (1) sandwich on HexB bread, with veggie sticks on the side
D - mixed bean goulash, rice and veg

Skinny latte as HexA. Managed to end yesterday on 5 syns, hoping to stay under 10 today. My scales this morning finally seem to be showing some downward movement for the first time this week, so fingers crossed for Tuesday's weigh in!

Emptynestx2 · 30/07/2016 09:04

Good luck Em, I wish someone would open a SW Group here, I really want to attend a group!

Re Indian meals, we can't get decent takeaway where I live so we've made a lot from Hairy Dieters and can highly recommend them. Are there any good SW curries or Chinese dishes?

EmilyK83 · 30/07/2016 09:09

Thanks!

I've got to admit, the SW Iceland tikka sauce isn't bad at all. We've used the easy chicken curry recipe from the SW website before and it's not too bad, and we've been known to use a tin of Heinz dhal curry lentils (free) as a side. Some supermarket poppadums are only 2 syns each, and I make my own raita with fat free yoghurt, mint and cucumber.

Chinese-wise, there's a few half decent chow mein recipes knocking around on the Internet, and the sweet and sour curry sauce recipe on the SW website (1.5 syns per portion) is surprisingly good!

Emptynestx2 · 30/07/2016 10:36

Thanks I'll have a search. Tried banana pancakes this morning but looked a bit like scrambled egg! Tasted ok but it was very runny so hard to flip, am I doing something wrong?!

We don't have such good supermarkets so a lot of the convenience foods and low fat varieties aren't available, I just have to use normal varieties of yogurts etc and stock up on tinned things when back in the uk, I'll look out for the Dahl lentils now and also SIL told me about pilau rice seasoning - is it easily available?

ALemonyPea · 30/07/2016 10:49

Empty, you do know cooked bananas are syned right? I was caught out with that a few weeks ago when I blitzed one in a food processor.

Emptynestx2 · 30/07/2016 10:53

I didn't! What difference does it make if it's cut up on top or inside though? Some things I really don't understand but I'll put it on top next time, is it ok to put sweetener in? Going to make breakfast muffins tomorrow!

feralcat19 · 30/07/2016 11:05

Tried the chicken chow mein recipe on the SW website for the first time and even DH said how tasty it was and there was LOADS so I'm definitely doing that one again.

ALemonyPea · 30/07/2016 12:57

I know, it seems ridiculous doesn't it as you'd be eating it anyway. I understand the juice thing as you'll be having a lot more fruit for one cup of juice.

Sweetener is fine. I make pancakes with sweetener, egg and vanilla essence and they're lovely.

EmilyK83 · 30/07/2016 13:23

I think it's to do with caramelisation and starches turning into sugars when you cook fruit? I may be wrong, though...

Just finished meal planning up to next Friday - involves batch cooking this weekend (did a mixed bean goulash yesterday, making a chilli con carne and a potato, spinach and chickpea curry today), and using up stuff from the cupboards/freezer so it's a nice short shopping list!

WingDefence · 30/07/2016 16:01

Back home! Rubbish journey back and I had a happy meal at the services (to get the toy for the DCs, honest) but I just went to find out the syns and my account has been deactivated!! Shock I vaguely remember an email last week about the automatic payment not being taken but that's possibly because I've paid for those three monthly subscription deals before so I wonder if I didn't actually set up an automatic renewal payment before.

Can't be bothered to get up from the sofa though and get my debit card to reactivate it this minute... Can anyone please tell me they huge syns in a cheeseburger happy meal with fries?! (Oops)

chough · 30/07/2016 16:20

Wing, I wouldn't worry about the happy meal syns, coming as it does at the end of your holiday with other extra syns.
WI on Monday will draw a line under it all, while you start afresh.
This is the "might as well be hung for a sheep as a lamb" school of thought!

WingDefence · 30/07/2016 16:24

Haha well I've just looked them up (hauled myself off the sofa to get my debit card) and it's 15 for a tiny plonky cheeseburger (not worth it) but only 8 for the small fries (totally worth it!) Grin

I know what you are all saying about it being my holiday but as I was only 0.5lbs away from my 2 stone and 3.5 from target I could have done with not putting much on! I'm not one of those gain fast/lose fast ladies unfortunately. Think an SP week or scan bran challenge week could be in order.

froubylou · 30/07/2016 16:29

Hello all

Welcome back to blighty wing. Put a line under your holiday and start again asap. I put 1.5lbs on in a weekend away. The following weeks I lost 2.5 and 3 and I am usually a 1.5 a week girl so it soon came off.

Todays plan

B. Coffee
L. Hm soup. Bean and veg one from hairy dieters. Is lush, packed with speed and very filling.
T. Jacket spud and freezer surprise. Think its bolognaise but won't know for sure until I have defrosted it lol. Might cook a bit of veg to speed it up.

Heb will probably be a hifi bar. HeA in coffee.

I have also just remembered I have a dark chocolate and raspberry bar stashed in the fridge so that's syns sorted.

chough · 30/07/2016 16:30

Wing, you might go for WI on Monday and find that the damage isn't too bad.
Look forward now and plan a good week.
SP/ scan bran are good ideas for a weight loss boost as you get back on track.

chough · 30/07/2016 16:34

freezer surprise Grin Grin
Hope it's not defrosted in foil and not visible.
frouby's tea: jacket potato topped with black forest fruits.

EmilyK83 · 30/07/2016 17:05

Welcome back Wing! I'm sure the damage won't be as bad as you think!

Laughing at the freezer surprise...and at chough's comment...now that sounds like an interesting meal Grin

froubylou · 30/07/2016 18:17

Lol Chough. It was bolognaise so I got lucky.

I don't label stuff as I like a nice surprise every now and again. Last week I thought it was bolognaise but was in fact veg chilli. And a few weeks ago a beef stew turned out to be lamb tagine.

And I once took my mum some stuff up to make some space. Told her it was bolognaise and it was some left over curry dp had frozen. He must have been drunk when he did it because there was half a nan bread on top!

I usually evict them into the bin when I find them as I never reheat rice and he shoves it all in.

GipsyDanger · 30/07/2016 18:24

I started last week and I'm not impressed so far to be honest. The open discussion about how much you've lost and 'how much for next week' does not appeal to me at all. And I can't wrap my head around the Syns thing, how do you calculate them if it's not on the app. The app and website are fabulous. And I am very Hmm that you can eat pasta to your hearts content and not gain weight. It's all so confusing Confused
