Got to admit, I don't really drink now either - it's not me being virtuous, it's that I'd rather save my syns for chocolate Grin Saying that, I found out the other day that Pimms is only 2.5 syns a measure (not that I can remember how big a measure is...) so that's quite tempting this summer...

Butt - how about homemade burgers, halloumi and veg kebabs, homemade kofta kebabs? And sausage-wise, there are some low syn ones that are actually quite nice - the Weight Watchers pork ones are only 0.5 Syns each and not too bad at all...

tabulahrasa · 05/06/2016 08:34

I had barbecue yesterday...

I did veg kebabs with mint and lemon juice on them, sweet chilli prawn ones (white wine vinegar a whole load of sweetener and a spoonful of yon lazy chilli) and tuna done like masala chops.

nomoreheroes · 05/06/2016 08:58

You are all very good. I ended up having a small glass of beer and 3 biggish glasses of wine last night. Blush In my very weak defence I rarely use many syns on much else! I'll see how the weight thing keeps going with the way I'm currently living and if I get stuck in a rut then it'll have to be reduced a lot I suspect.

I made beef koftas the other evening buttwing and while I did them on the pan they would have been yummy on the barbecue. Made a tzatziki with FF greek yogurt, finely diced cucumber, crushed garlic, squeeze of lemon and chopped fresh mint.

Chicken skewers are always a hit here...with chorizo if you've syns to spare, or marinated in curry powder and yogurt if not.

I think m&s skinny burgers are free if you want something handy.

EmilyK83 · 05/06/2016 10:44

Right! Today's plan - first SP day of this weigh in week. According to my scales I've got my 3.5 stone award when I'm naked, but I don't fancy stripping off in group on Tues...

B - fruit, sweetened quark and first HexB muesli

L - sausages (1 syn for 2), eggs, bacon, mushrooms, leeks, tomatoes

D - cottage pie with a carrot and swede mash and broccoli.

Skinny latte for my HexA. Probably Alpen Lights for my HexB. Finished yesterday on 9 syns, aiming for roughly the same again today...

maygirl · 05/06/2016 10:49

I struggle with the booze a bit. If definately slows my weight loss even if I stick within syn allowance. I did dry January and had my best month for weightloss. I swing between banning it for 2-3 weeks, or sticking to a few at the weekends cos I shouldn't have to deny myself totally on SW...! I wish I didn't enjoy it so much! I'd rather have wine than chocs! Currently on a post hol ban on drinking at home this month, 2 nights out planned where will have some (one wine tasting with DH Blush ). I'm too all or nothing lol!

BBQs I love baking salmon in foil parcels, with lime or lemon juice. Big mushrooms also nice baked in foil with garlic cheese/garlic quark on top. Baked spud instead of bread, pasta or cous cous salad, bean salad, h/m coleslaw. Heck sausages are my favourite low syn ones at the moment

ALemonyPea · 05/06/2016 10:52

I'm not a big drinker anyway, so not fussed about drinking. I like o have a glass of wine when we are eating out but rarely in the house.

Glorious weather here today. Think a walk is in order.

B: yoghurt and fruit
D: ham and egg salad
T chicken casserole with mash and plenty veg. Might chick in a Yorkshire pudding.

maygirl · 05/06/2016 11:04

Having had Pimms on holiday last week I know it's 2 syns for 25 ml or 3 syns for 35 ml. Not tried it but noticed on the app that the strawberry and lime Pimms is only 1.5 syn per 25 ml. I bought the fever- tree light tonic thinking it was free, but was 4.5 syns for 500 ml bottle. I like to drink diet tonic on its own during non alcohol weeks sometimes!

muminthecity · 05/06/2016 11:08

I've given up wine completely but I do like pimms, and have recently started drinking apple flavoured vodka with diet lemonade which is lovely and refreshing.

muminthecity · 05/06/2016 11:11

My planned meals for today:
B - banana and strawberries
L - baked sweet potato with cheese (HEA) and salad
D - roast beef at my parents house. Will steer clear of the roast potatoes (which will be smothered in oil knowing my mum!) and the yorkshires and will fill up on the veg. Few syns for gravy.

OrianaBanana · 05/06/2016 11:20

Yeah I got stung by the fevertree tonic water before Confused I like slimline tonic with a bit of ice and lime - I can pretend I'm drinking gin. Also you can get sugar free squash and blend with sugar free lemonade, speed fruit and mint and cucumber and pretend it's pims... Hmm

ALemonyPea · 05/06/2016 11:41

I like the idea of strawberry and lime pimms. What do you dilute it with? Lemonade?

OrianaBanana · 05/06/2016 12:05

Yes - sugar free! Smile

maygirl · 05/06/2016 15:37

We had a taster once with SW alcohol free pimms, think it was fruit, cucumber and mint with diet lilt and a little balsamic vinegar ! It was OK but felt like a step too far to start drinking vinegar lol!

B butternut squash pancakes with raspberries and sweet freedom 1 syn - my groups been going crazy for these!
L big meal at DMs with the family, on plan, roast duck, hassleback potatoes , sprouts, carrots, peas, fennel, courgette, spinach. Cauli, gravy 2 syns
Skipped the dessert, looked up syns and was Shock!
D probably won't be hungry after all that! Maybe a salad or yogurt and fruit if I am.
HeB pack ryvita minis tonight in front of TV. Milk in coffee heA

ALemonyPea · 05/06/2016 16:03

So much for not drinking. Ended up at a beer garden, had a small glass of wine. Is it 6 syns?

How do you make sweet potato pancakes? Sound interesting.

EmilyK83 · 05/06/2016 16:03

Ooh may, butternut pancakes sound interesting - could you share the recipe please? 😊

maygirl · 05/06/2016 18:18

Butternut squash pancakes, SP
150g mashed butternut squash
Whisked with 2 eggs
Sweetener if u want. (I added sweet freedom afterwards to drizzle over)
Fry small amounts like scotch pancakes in frylight, flipping when top starts to set.
Serve with speed fruit, quark/ yogurt
I baked the squash last night as had oven on, but others at group have been microwaving chunks. They were very soft to try and flip, not sure if cos I over blended in my nutribullet. Will try normal mashing next time and making smaller ones flip easier. This recipe made a large amount. I did an early gym session after eating this but still made it to lunchtime without needing a snack .

Colourfulpast1975 · 05/06/2016 18:19

I need to bring some food at my next slimming world meeting, can you suggest something please ?

EmilyK83 · 05/06/2016 18:26

Fab, thanks may - will give them a go!

Colourful - I love smoked salmon pate - blitz up smoked salmon with quark, lemon juice and fresh dill, it's so good! And veggie sticks to dip?

OrianaBanana · 05/06/2016 18:44

Yes smoked salmon pate and veg sticks always popular, or free hummus. Or try bringing a drink (like free Pimms Wink) or a fruit salad. Some also bring mini quiches, or chicken drumsticks, or cocktail sticks with ham pineapple and pickled onions Grin

Colourfulpast1975 · 05/06/2016 18:45

Emily - brilliant thank you xxx

OrianaBanana · 05/06/2016 18:47

Sweetcorn fritters and interesting salads also good too. Or chicken skewers, (cut up) free sausages on sticks...

ALemonyPea · 05/06/2016 19:13

Aaaarrrggghhhhh. I only had be glass of wine, mand I want to fill my face with crap. Resisting so far, so might have a bath and go to bed early.

I have to take something to group myself this coming week, so was maybe going to do a quich. Was wondering about doing potato salad, but not really suitable for a morning meeting.

froubylou · 05/06/2016 19:41

Bloody hell I need to check the app for fever tree tonic. I drink it with my gin and thought it was free. I have the little cans with 150ml in. Bet they are 1.5 syns. But I have still been just under my syns most days so will just have to be aware.

Had a bbq late lunch/tea so had a couple of heck sausages, and a couple of chicken skewers with salad. 3 g and ts so probably on 15 syns. Had a lovely time though and am very burnt lol.

Buttwing · 05/06/2016 20:03

Thanks for the bbq ideas, we had a lovely time got the paddling pool out and the kids had a great time

We had-
Steak
Chicken thighs in tomato and smoked paprika
Sainsburys be good sausages
They had burgers (couldn't be arsed making my own!)
Prawn skewers with chilli and garlic
New potatoes
Corn on the cob
Pointed peppers
Butternut squash chips for me

I'm doing an sp day so it fitted in really well. I've still got Eton mess to have for pudding.

mumtoblaire · 05/06/2016 21:25

Good God went really off plan the last few days. Got head hunted for a job I used to do and grabbing it with both hands - not been enjoying my role for a good few months now.

so must have ate about 100 syns over the weekend - not including the bottle of Cava I had all to myselfBlushWink

Weigh in tomorrow morning and no matter what I am back on track.

The weather here has been amazing but a bit too hot for me.

Hope everyone had an awesome weekend.
