I lurk more than post but still here. STS last week which I think was due to PMT, but hoping for a loss this week. 1lb would see me match my lowest weight I achieved last year and 1.5lb my club 10. It's 4 weeks till I go away and I would love to be below 10 stone for then (currently 10 7 so unlikely now).

Bought some scanbran yesterday. I quite like it Blush but don't want to eat 5 pieces of it a day as I love my shredded wheat too much. Does anyone reckon 1-2 slices a day would make a difference? And everywhere I read says to have 1-2 glasses of water with it- a small glass or a pint?

froubylou · 02/07/2016 15:20

Afternoon all

I am still here and still plodding along.

Haven't eaten yet today. Been to a livestock auction this morning and bought some chickens and a couple of ducklings. Chickens at the stables all bedded down but have the ducklings at home for now in the bottom half of the guinea pig cage. They are very cute!

But not had chance to eat yet as we have been manic.

We are out for tea later. Not sure where. Was supposed to be a pub tea but now dp and dd are wittering about pizza hut.ffs. Don't think there is anything other than the salad bar that is remotely sw friendly. Going to have a look at the app and see what is the lowest.

KittyOShea · 02/07/2016 18:09

I'm still here too but a little off plan- on hols and off over to stay with my sister for a week to go to her wedding. Gained a pound last week but am still within shouting distance of target so not too bothered until I get home again to get back on track.

ALemonyPea · 02/07/2016 18:39

What the hell is wrong with me Angry. Can't stop eating today. Have had a few small handfuls of M&Ms out of the massive bag DH bought from the shops today, and some mini cheesy crackers. Think I need to have my jaw wired.

Thanks for the salad dressing ideas, think I will try the yoghurt ones, mhave a pot in the fridge.

nomoreheroes · 02/07/2016 18:50

I'm also in need of jaw wiring. DH went to Lidl and bought about 4 different delicious breads...my absolute downfall. I had about 25 syns worth of bread and butter. Then I picked at kids leftover chicken nuggets. So mad at myself!! Especially as I started out with great intentions having been out for dinner last night. ConfusedSad Come on Lemony, we better pull ourselves together! Tomorrow is a new day. I'm having burgers for dinner later just with salad and pickles. No bun or chips. Will go for a long walk tomorrow and also need to vacuum and wash floors. We'll be fine. Flowers

pippinandtog · 02/07/2016 19:56

Prof, my consultant recommends 2 scan bran daily, and I find that does make a difference; she advises 1500ml water daily.
I don't mind scan bran, either as a "b" choice ( 2 and 1 Weetabix with warm milk), or dipped in soup, or in a SW cake recipe.

EmilyK83 · 02/07/2016 20:23

So...2 meals out yesterday, behaved as much as I could. Smoked salmon salad for lunch, no oil, just syns for mayo. Evening meal out I went for monkfish, lentil dhal and pickled veg for my main.

Today was a bit different. Had to review an afternoon tea for work! So good though.

Tonight's been a syn-free tomato, basil and bacon spaghetti dish at home...I'm hoping the fact that I've walked almost 8 miles today will counteract some of the last couple of days!

Heading to Heathrow tomorrow afternoon for an overnight stay at the airport before flying out for our holiday v early Monday morning. Just hoping that the promised terror attack at Heathrow doesn't happen... :-/

WingDefence · 03/07/2016 08:54

Eek Emily - I'm sure your holiday will be success!

Those of us who can't stop nibbling, it could be thirst so try drinking water everything you're tempted to nibble?

I didn't need my overnight oats last night for tea as there was plenty of salad and fruit so gave it to DH to bring him and put in the fridge last night. Went downstairs this morning, opened the fridge and... he'd forgotten. They've been left in the car all night and I don't want to chance eating it now. What a waste of strawberries, raspberries (and they are so expensive fresh aren't they :(), let alone the muller light and oats. Not happy...

WingDefence · 03/07/2016 08:54

*every time

EmilyK83 · 03/07/2016 10:22

Fingers crossed - thanks Wing! I wouldn't chance eating those either - so annoying :(

Today's plan:

B - raspberries and yoghurt
L - leftover pasta from last night
D - we'll be at a hotel at Heathrow, but we're planning to pick up some picky bits from Waitrose en route to have a hotel room picnic while watching the footie this evening! That'll be where all my syns go today

Alpen Lights for HexB, skinny latte on the m4 somewhere for my HexA...

ALemonyPea · 03/07/2016 10:49

My nibbling last night was purely because they were in front of me. I was ok once I made DH remove them from the room. Hopefully hasn't had a big effect on my weight loss. Going to do 2 SP days as damage control just in case and not have many syns.

B: bacon, egg and mushroom double decker using crust less whole meal (HEB)
D: ham and cheese salad (HEA)
T: tin M&S beef stew (as everyone else having pies) with carrots, broccoli, sprouts and cauliflower.
Snack: Hifi bar (HEB) and fruit

Lifeisontheup2 · 03/07/2016 11:19

I forgot to take any meal to work yesterday so bought some souper green soup and rye bread, can count the soup as HEB and syn the rye bread.

Today I've had boiled new potatoes and tomatoes fried using low cal spray and topped with 2 eggs. Hopefully that will fill me up until work and then i can finish the soup with rye bread for my meal break and take a nectarine, raspberries, strawberries and a 0% activia yoghurt to keep me going.

I'm so tired though which is when my will power normally fails, fingers crossed my crewmate doesn't decide to be 'nice' and buy me a cake.

emwithme · 03/07/2016 18:01

I've been taking myself to bed early this week when the "I MUST EATS" have come on. I know I'm not hungry, I'm not thirsty either (I drink about 3 litres of weak sugar-free squash a day, on top of 3 or 4 cups of tea/coffee) so it's just bloody boredom.

Today's food:

Brunch: Bacon, eggs, beans, mushrooms, tomato
Dinner: Roast beef, yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes, carrots, cabbage. Proper gravy
HEA: Milk
HEB: Hifi bars

Only another week to go before I go on holiday to Cologne let's see how much I can gain in a week while I'm away and I really want to lose the last pound for my 3 stone before I go. I'm meeting up with friends I last saw in September in Amsterdam...

PositiveAttitude · 03/07/2016 18:18

emwithme How did you manage your revision for your exam without nibbles? I have been revising a lot this weekend and I had not realised how much of a habit it was for me to nibble my way through it, until yesterday. Now I am really frustrated as revision has gone badly and I am really hungry!!

Meal out for anniversary celebration last night. Steak and new potaoes. Salad came laden with oily dressing, so I just picked at that! Angry Then a lush red velvet cake and ice-cream Blush.

froubylou · 03/07/2016 18:36

Evening all

Been busy again all day so haven't eaten much.

B. Coffee
L. 3 crab sticks and a whole beetroot
T. Salad, new potatoes and some swordfish steak. Twas vair nice and made a change from salmon. Had a tblespn of coleslaw. Syns for the big fat g and t I am now enjoying!

And yesterday wasn't too bad either in the end. Went to a lovely posh gastropub and had a duo of lamb which was lamb fillet and a little Shepperds pie made with diced lamb. Served with veg and a jus! It was very tasty but I wasn't sure how.many syns in the pie. Didn't have any other syns all day so should have been fine.

Hoping for 1.5 off this week for my 1st award.

emwithme · 03/07/2016 19:04

PositiveAttitude I chopped up a bowl of speed veggies (cucumber - seeds removed, celery, radish, peppers and a handful of - not chopped - cherry tomatoes) to have next to me, for the inevitable need to do a "hand to mouth" motion. I then rewarded myself at the end with a kitkat or a bag of pufts or similar.

ALemonyPea · 03/07/2016 19:44

I've had a very good day food wise. However, how is a person meant to diet when their son brings them a box of chocolates from Belgium? From this shop. I've not had one yet, but I have sniffed the box several times

pippinandtog · 03/07/2016 20:32

Lemony, that chocolate looks gorgeous; wouldn't be surprised if just the sniffing used up your syns.
Really, though, syn-count them and enjoy them- eat mindfully, Lemony, which means not face down in the box. That is not eating mindfully.

froubylou · 03/07/2016 20:33

Have you had a lick yet lemony? I would so have by now 😂😂

Just had an atack of the munchies. So in have had a bowl of salad, a cheese slice (probably under for A today as only had 2 coffees), 2 slices of ham and a tin of anchovies. I did drain the oil so assume that they are free. Twas yum.

Now I am having my salted caramel hifi bar and 4 squares of dark chocolate.

ALemonyPea · 03/07/2016 20:47

I will have some on Tuesday after WI. Don't want to risk it after yesterday's mishap. Probably a gazillion syns in one.

Frouby, anchovies with oil drained off vary from 0.5 to 1, some think you're safe.

I am loving peanut Hifi bars ATM, wasn't on bothered by the salted caramel ones. Much prefer one big bar to two little ones. The new limited edition bar is coconut macaroon.

WingDefence · 04/07/2016 08:39

Hmm. WI this morning and I put on a pound Hmm

Not happy as I didn't particularly have a bad week :( Away twice at conferences this week (tomorrow and Thurs) so don't hold out much hope for a good loss next week. Grrrrrrrrrr.

pippinandtog · 04/07/2016 08:58

It's disappointing, Wing, to have a gain which you feel you don't deserve, but keep at it as it could be "in the bank" for next week.
Try to make good choices at your conferences and you will hopefully be pleased when you next step on the scales.

Lifeisontheup2 · 04/07/2016 09:13

First WI this morning and I've only lost a pound Sad Still at least it's a loss and I actually feel like I've lost more, clothes feel looser, onward and downward. Smile

WingDefence · 04/07/2016 09:25

Pippin thank you - I needed some words of support this morning as I find it hard sometimes not going to group. Only 7.5lbs till target so must pull my finger out!

DH is out so going to check emails then do some Davina.

Life - congrats on the loss! Keep at it, track everything again this week and you're heading in the right direction :)

gadget1974 · 04/07/2016 09:43

Nomoreheroes : My wife an I are both doing SW which makes things much easier. I also gave up drinking during the week (Used to have a bottle of wine every night).
I don't have a sweet tooth so for me, giving up chocolates/desserts wasn't an issue and we follow the plan pretty much to the letter. I lost a stone in the first two weeks and have settled into a more steady base since of between 2-3lb except for one week which we pretty much went off plan.

Breakfast is usually Yoghurt and Oatbran or Weetabix. I have a tub of fruit to snack on during the day. Lunch is something like a Jacket potato and tuna and dinner will be one of the sw recipes, we've done curry, diet coke chicken, chilli, fish & chips to name a few. We try to have at least one SP day a week.
The only other change for me is I try to do 5000 steps every day.

Neither of us tend to use any syns during the week, but may go over on the weekends (Those G&T's do add up!)
