Calzone you're right of course - which makes yesterday even worse!! Shock

I have a need for speed! Another big lunch today at my church but I've made a couscous salad and I know others are making salads so should be able to get a load of speed in. DM is bringing a fresh fruit salad too so I'll skip the amazing homemade triples, cakes, desserts etc.

A few more people noticed my weight loss yesterday when I was out and about. So chuffed to be able to say I've lost nearly two stone :)

Have a fab day all!

froubylou · 26/06/2016 10:31

Morning all

Had a change of plan last night as dp didn't want an steak. Because he had fish and chips at 2pm. I told him he wouldn't want his tea if he had fish and chips. So words were had.

Anyway I found a sw chilli in the freezer I made a couple of weeks ago so had that with some rice.

So todays plan.

B. Coffee
L. Not sure yet. Will be having salad for tea so might have to rummage in freezer. Or ferret out some veg and make some soup.
T. Steak, salad and new potatoes.

Not sure on syns yet either. Aiming for a booze free day.

EmilyK83 · 26/06/2016 15:26

Been out clothes shopping today, picking up more holiday bits!

Food-wise....

B - melon
L - leftover turkey kofte curry
D - homemade burgers, SW chips, salad. 2 syns for a reduced fat cheese slice, will probably have pickles too

Skinny latte while shopping as HexA, Alpen Lights as HexB. And probably chocolate frozen yoghurt for syns...

ALemonyPea · 26/06/2016 16:47

You know when you go to someone's house, and they make an effort to accommodate your diet, but haven't understood properly, that's my mam. Went for dinner today, butter in turnip (so didn't have that), fat still on pork (my accurate part as well, but trimmed it all off), gravy made with meat juices. Fruit salad afterwards, only had strawberries in for speed and tinned mandarins, so had to be syned. Was lovely, but felt chested out of syns that weren't necessary.

B: nothing
D: pork dinner with cauli, broccoli and carrots, fruit salad and yoghurt afterwards
T: probably ham and feta (HEA) salad

Hifi bar for HEB for a snack

EmilyK83 · 26/06/2016 18:44

At least she's trying, Lemony! I have the same issue with my dad, bless him - hopefully over time they'll get better at it!

ALemonyPea · 26/06/2016 19:13

She is trying Grin. I'm appreciative of her effort, I think my post probably came across as the opposite. I love my mams cooking, it was quite hard to trim it down when I wanted to eat it all.

EmilyK83 · 26/06/2016 19:45

God I can imagine it was hard, I'd have eaten the lot I think!

Made the best burgers I've made so far tonight. Literally just 5% beef mince, pepper and more salt than you think you'd need. Shaped into burgers, cooked in a griddle pan. Topped with a 2 syn cheese slice and pickles (no bun). Seriously, seriously good!

ALemonyPea · 26/06/2016 19:48

I want to try my own burgers, maybe pork and apple. Might give them ago next weekend as was hoping to have a barbecue (cue torrential rain all week).

nomoreheroes · 26/06/2016 20:51

Hello all. Hope everyone's had a lovely weekend. I've had family visiting but food wise we've been good. Greek lamb with salad and sw chips on Friday, picnic lunch yesterday - salads, couscous and fruit - out for dinner last night - hummus and salad, skinny burger, no bun, no chips. But...a whole bottle of wine and a cocktail! And a hangover this morning so self medicated with a big slice of toast with butter AND peanut butter. Blush Worth every syn! Roast dinner today with a couple of syns for gravy and Yorkshire pudding. Probably too many. But had a lovely weekend of food, drink and good company so will not beat myself up about it. New day tomorrow. Smile

Buttwing · 26/06/2016 20:55

Hi all. I love homemade burgers I haven't made them for ages though you have inspired me to make them again!

B-banana
D-roast chicken, salad, corn on the cob, caponata.

2 hifis, a bowl of strawberries and Greek yogurt with a crushed mini merengue(1)
2 bites of chocolate pizza, sounds vile but my god it's so good!!

Bit of a picky day today as I've not been able to work out what I want to eat.

emwithme · 26/06/2016 21:18

We had burgers last night with actifry chips and salad. Bloody gorgeous.

Builder has been around today, doing the rest of the snagging. There's only two things left to do and he needs a specific part for one of them so hopefully that'll be sorted in the next couple of weeks. He v kindly helped DH put the TV bracket on the wall so I can have my coffee table back again, which was a bonus.

Today's food:

Brunch: Bacon, eggs, beans, mushrooms, tomato
Mid-afternoon snack: Apple, pear, satsumas
Dinner: Roast beef, roast potatoes, yorkshire puddings (2 x Aunt Bessies - 5 syns), carrots, broccoli. Proper gravy (I worked it out that it's 15 syns for a litre)
HEA: Milk
HEB: Hifi bars

Argh. TERRIBLENESS day today.

Started off all right but then just felt peckish all day, picking at bits here and there, finishing kids food...motivation terrible.

I was a bit irritated/ anxious about a piece of work I've had to get done for work over the weekend and basically ended up behaving like a teenager avoiding homework, bumbling around the kitchen, eating straight from the fridge etc.

Got to about 35 syns as a result.

My first day like this for a month. Hope it won't affect my WI on Tuesday night too badly. Hope I'll find my mojo again tomorrow...really annoyed with myself.

Aspergallus · 26/06/2016 21:19

Obviously I mean TERRIBLE day today, what a strange autocorrect.

calzone · 26/06/2016 22:52

B.....Linda sausages, bacon, tomatoes, toast, egg

L....fruit and yoghurt

D.....see photo

WI this morning and stayed the same. To be expected although the extra walking in London and not eating office lunches avoided it being a gain. Need to get back on with Davina this week!

maygirl · 27/06/2016 11:27

I have the same issue with my mum and she actually goes to SW! She hasn't lost much unsurprising, she keeps forgetting the plan!
Struggling here, last week it felt so easy to be on plan, no cravings, not bothered by not having stuff, but been having to fight temptation all weekend . Meals have been OK but have gone over syns.
B was weetabix and apple,
L pasta with veg, pesto 1 syn and salmon flakes,
D chilli con carne with rice, pak choi and baby corn for speed
Snacks berries, oranges,. But had 12 syns dark chocolate + benefit bar 3 syns and some of kids sweets and probably other stuff blocked out.
Motivation has gone, even though I have a dance event coming up I want to feel slim for Blush.
Today B melon. HeB bread + 1.5 syns as weighed more with avocado 3 syns, + tomatoes. HeA milk in coffee
L soup
D left over chilli with rice and salad.
Maybe a benefit bar later.
Hope mojo returns for me and all others struggling!

Anyone got any ideas for a quick and easy kid friendly on-plan tea?
Have 2 friends with younger kids coming round, so total 5 kids age 4-9 and 4 adults to feed. Some of kids v fussy. Was thinking of cold pasta salad with the veg separate! Cold sausages and other meats. But if anyone has more exciting idea would be welcome!

ALemonyPea · 27/06/2016 12:07

Pizza and hot dogs in buns are my go to when I have a lot of kids to feed. Or I do chicken and pepperoni pasta bake, goes down a treat as well.

Not feeling that hungry today, which is probably a good thing the day before WI.

B: scrambled eggs, mushrooms, pear yoghurt
D: Chilli and lime chicken pasta salad
T: Ham and feta salad (HEA)

Snacks: hifi bar (HEB) M&S prawn and calamari snack pot (1.5 syns)

EmilyK83 · 27/06/2016 12:25

So impressed with your dedication to finding the most SW friendly options while you were in London, Wing!

May - how about burrito bowls? Put rice, shredded lettuce, sweetcorn, grated cheese, cold roast chicken (or supermarket chicken slices), homemade syn free salsa, refried beans, sour cream (or ff yoghurt) in individual bowls, let everyone help themselves to a bowl ful of what they want?

Buttwing · 27/06/2016 12:28

Homemade burgers on wholemeal rolls, wedges and corn on the cob,
Hot dogs made with low syn sausages,
Or I always find spag Bol goes down well.

EmilyK83 · 27/06/2016 12:29

Weigh in tomorrow, scales looking promising for my 4 stone award tomorrow...going to be super good today!

B - melon and green tea
L - picky bits from the fridge
D - baked peppers stuffed with chilli con carne and rice. May syn some cheese for the top too...

Skinny latte as HexA, Alpen Lights as HexB, as always!

Finished yesterday on 12.5 syns, aiming for 10 today...

WingDefence · 27/06/2016 13:10

Thanks Emily and best of luck for WI tomorrow!

May when I have a large crowd I do something similar to Emily but with jacket potatoes, huge chilli (v easy to make SW friendly), bbq pulled pork (I do in the slow cooker), coleslaw (which you could buy and syn or miss, or make your own), baked beans, grated cheese (again syn/hexa or miss out). Everyone helps themselves.

Re motivation although I STS this week I had a huge NSV as I got baptised yesterday at my church so had to wear leggings and a long shirt and in all the photos I look really slim and my face does too and I'm so happy! After the conversation we had a week or so ago about how dressing the same can hide our progress, I've tried some of my old smaller clothes and have definitely been getting more compliments because people can see it more.

PositiveAttitude · 27/06/2016 13:22

Congratulations on your baptism WingDefence and good luck to everyone going to WI tomorrow. I am not too hopeful that I have done very well this week. I had hoped to be able to get my first half stone award, but that might have to wait a week.

I love reading your menu ideas. I think I might be trying the chicken in coke tonight with veg and new potato, but that depends on what time I get back from visiting my mum in the nursing home, which will depend on how she is today.

ALemonyPea · 27/06/2016 13:34

Congratulations on the NSV and baptism yesterday Wing.

EmilyK83 · 27/06/2016 14:01

Thanks Wing, and congrats on yesterday - both the baptism and the NSV!

EmilyK83 · 27/06/2016 14:24

Just bought a size 10 vest in Asda! Grin
