I'll check now...

Oh god I really hope it tastes nice. If not it's such a waste of good amaretto... Wink

nomoreheroes · 23/06/2016 21:34

Evening all...quick question while I do my online shop...struggling for inspiration for dinners this weekend. Have visitors to cook for...bit fed up of curries and tomato based sauces. If anyone has any nice ideas or can recommend a SW recipe I would be very grateful. Smile

KittyOShea · 23/06/2016 21:37

Heroes I did the angel hair pasta with crab (I just googled) this week. Was delicious. I added prawns and stir fried some leeks, mushrooms and tenderstem broccoli to go with it. So good I had the leftovers today.

Congrats hula. That's a great loss in no time at all

nomoreheroes · 23/06/2016 21:46

Oh thanks Kitty, that does sound nice. I've decided on some sort of greek lamb with greek salad, maybe griddled Mediterranean veg and also pitta breads for the non slimmers. I'd rather have feta with my syns and wine Crab might be one for Sat night. Ta!

EmilyK83 · 23/06/2016 21:51

Well done Hula, that's brilliant!

KittyOShea · 23/06/2016 21:52

Ooh the Greek lamb sounds amazing too!

I bought the Mediterranean magic cook book last week. Have only tried the paella so far which was lovely. Planning to try lots over the summer hols when I've a bit more time to experiment.

nomoreheroes · 23/06/2016 22:49

I'm not a great one for following recipes - I just use cubed lamb steaks and marinate them in garlic, lemon and dried oregano before frying them on a really hot pan. Ooh, must make syn free tzatziki too!

calzone · 23/06/2016 23:23

Am definitely trying the scan bran tiramisu this weekend. Imagine eating the whole thing!!!!

B...HEB frui nfibre, fruit and vanilla yoghurt
L....meatballs and spaghetti

Today:

B - scan bran tiramisu (HexB and 4 syns) plus melon
L - probably a salad, may not be hungry...
D - chicken tikka masala, rice, salad, poppadum (2)

Finished yesterday on 10.5 syns, aiming for 10 today...

What a weird day today is eh?

I've been awake since 4 (not because of the EU) so shattered now, I'm sure I should be eating my tea by now.

Despite being up early, I am just eating the first meal of today, and no idea how I managed it, but have bought no fruit in my food shopping, managed loads of veg though. Will pop to Aldi later.

B: nothing
D: Deli box noodles, orange, hifi bar, yoghurt (not in the mood to cook)
T: Lemon and parsley salmon, veg stir fry and rice

Snack: bit of cheese (HEA), something from the free Graze box, all looks good. Anyone want a code for £5 off first order?

EmilyK83 · 24/06/2016 11:49

Definitely a weird day, Lemony - I'm trying to stay off Facebook as much as possible, lots of arguing and fear and I don't want to fall out with anyone!

Definitely worth checking syns with the Graze box stuff, some of them are higher than you'd think...

KittyOShea · 24/06/2016 11:55

Today's plan

B- porridge, yoghurt, cinnamon, raspberries, grapefruit
L- salad, yoghurt, fruit (2 syns for dressing)
D- chicken curry with veg (1 syn for flour)

Syns- 2 lunch, 1 dinner, 2 milk, 3 hi fi 8 in total

MammyHester9116 · 24/06/2016 12:16

Hi!
I started sw in Monday and lost 3lbs this week! Smile and I blow my sins on Wednesday by having a cupcake at my mummy group and a bread bun for lunch! Shock

Please can someone explain what a sp day is?

TIA

ALemonyPea · 24/06/2016 14:26

Yes I've checked all, and mostly between 4-6.5, nothing higher. Have gone for the light option.

EmilyK83 · 24/06/2016 15:17

Ahhhh ok! It's only because someone in my group got stung by them the other week!!

Non-scale victory this afternoon - just had to go and exchange the size 12 bikini bottoms I bought the other week for a size 10 before my holiday in a week and a half. Whoop whoop!

ALemonyPea · 24/06/2016 16:42

Nice one Emily! I've also bought some new clothes today in a size smaller, but definitely nowhere near a size 10 😄

EmilyK83 · 24/06/2016 18:02

Thanks! And a size smaller is still a size smaller, it's still a victory!!!

ALemonyPea · 24/06/2016 18:28

I've bought some feta cheese as fed up of cheddar for my HEA. What can I add to make it less bland? Was thinking of just chucking it into my salads and doing some sort of dressing, to move me away from salad cream all the time.

froubylou · 24/06/2016 18:40

Evening all

B. Coffee
L. Jacket potato with cheese and salad at soft play
T. Curry from takeaway and boiled rice. Friday tradition.

Will also have a couple of g and ts and hifi bar for B choice.

Buttwing · 24/06/2016 20:06

Hi mammy and welcomeSmile

Sp days are basically reducing your carb intake so no pasta, potatoes, rice etc you also can't eat a lot of fruits, you can only eat food with an s or p symbol next to them in your sw book. In return you get an extra heb.

Sorry that's not very clear! I hope you can understand what I mean!! I'm bone tired today!

So tempted to eat chocolate tonight (no surprise there!) the children have ran bloomin rings round me all day and life is so ridiculously busy at the moment I feel like I'm flying by the seat of my pants continuously. Anyway onwards and upwards (or should that be downwards?!)

B-fruit and Greek yogurt
L-bacon poached egg, spinach and mushrooms
D-sw Shepards pie ready meal with beans and red cabbage

2 hifis, s milk, chomp(3) rich tea (2)

Emily can I just say SIZE BLOODY 10!!!! Whit woo!! That's amazing!!Check you out miss slinky, I think I would have done a little dance right there in the fitting roomGrin

EmilyK83 · 24/06/2016 20:44

Lemony - feta's lovely in omelettes (especially with roasted red peppers!) and yeah, salads too. It goes really well with lamb too, maybe Greek-style kebab skewers with lamb marinated in lemon juice and herbs and grilled, then in a HexB flatbread with the cheese?

Butt, I honestly can't believe it, I may have text a fair few people to tell them the news, haha!! So bloody chuffed! Weirdly though I don't feel like a size 10, if that makes sense?

Still a 12 on top. Boobs refuse to shrink and a FF is starting to look ridiculous :-/

ALemonyPea · 24/06/2016 21:00

Thanks for the suggestions. Don't eat lamb so that's a no go, but might try it with chicken or beef maybe.

WingDefence · 25/06/2016 07:52

Morning all. Haven't caught up with the rest of the thread unfortunately but wanted to share my NSV - I managed to fit into a size ten top last night (I did look very booby though! Grin) for a meal out!
Went for a salmon & sweet potato fish cake for starter then steak with plain new pots and a side salad (came dressed but was tiny so not too worried). No bread roll, no pud, just a fruit juice and tons of water. Had a great night and felt very happy that I had stuck on plan :)

Love SW!

EmilyK83 · 25/06/2016 07:58

Yay for NSVs Wing - that's brilliant! Better feeling than the number on the scales sometimes! Smile

emwithme · 25/06/2016 08:15

Well done Emily Lemon and Wing you skinny minnies Grin

I am up at "fuck-me-why-does-this-time-exist-on-a-weekend" as my builders are due any minute to do some snagging. I am going to use the time I should be sleeping to do a couple of practice assessments for my college course - final assessment is on Thursday. Actually, right now I am nursing a coffee in an attempt to be human and watching referendum coverage that I taped the other night.

We unpacked the Actifry last night and I am very excited to be having proper chips today. I know I had chippy chips on Thursday but I haven't had proper-at-home chips in YEARS.

Today's food:

Breakfast: Bacon, eggs, beans, mushrooms, tomato. Bucket full of coffee
Lunch: Something light and easy, possibly just a mugshot or something to keep me going. Breakfast and dinner are going to be HUGE
Dinner: HM burgers, proper chips Grin and salad.
HEA: Milk
HEB: Not sure if I want hifi bars or a wholemeal batch^ with my burger. Will decide later how the chocolate cravings are going.

^I grew up in Coventry. A bread roll is a batch. I cannot call it anything else, and have now converted my Somerset-born-and-bred DH to that. One person at a time...
