Hi all - glad to hear of some good losses! I'l catch up properly when I'm back on my laptop but I've had a better day today.
L There was a salad going spare in my meeting today (ordered for a gluten free colleague who didn't want it) so I left the avocado and had just a tiny bit of the hummus but the rest was plain salad, carrots, rocket, cherry toms, peppers and celery which I followed up with a plate of fruit.
D made a better choice on the train tonight. Pasta and poached salmon and I left the lemon oil dressing off. Delicious. And I've had a stressful day but said no to the peanuts!!

Nicely done Wing!!

nomoreheroes · 22/06/2016 19:09

Back from weigh in with 2lbs off! Can't actually believe it considering I had so many syns all week but I obviously made up for it with low syn meals and keeping on the move as much as possible. Maybe I over calculated my syns? Whatever, I'm just delighted! 2.5 lbs to my first stone. Onwards and downwards then!

KittyOShea · 22/06/2016 19:12

Congrats heroes. That's a great loss.

I lost a pound. Slightly disappointed as I have been on plan and with SP days too but hopefully it'll show up next week. 2.5 to go to target. Hoping I can do it in a week with sister's wedding the week after...

Kenworthington · 22/06/2016 19:44

Well done everyone! After my whinge about my group the other day I'm trying another one next week. I've text the leader and she seems nicer so am hopeful I may even bring myself to stay for the meetings. I know from doing ww it's really the only way. Bloody leader woman didn't even speak to me today just took my card and held out her hand for my (dh's) hard earned cash. So depressing. She talks to everyone else and texts then when they lose. But not me! I've no idea what she thinks I've done to upset her!
Anyway today for me was
B coffee (pre weigh in!)
Then hi fi choc Orange bar

L 2 eggs and mushrooms cooked in Olive frylite
D ginger like and coriander chicken fillets (baked) with brown rice and tesco healthy quinoa and edamame stir fry thing (from frozen section- lush), broccoli

S iced skinny americano and sweet/salty popcorn and a banana later

Am stuffed as a big stuffed thing!

EmilyK83 · 22/06/2016 21:39

Well done nomore, that's brilliant! And Kitty, it's still going in the right direction - fingers crossed you'll hit target next week!

Ken, hoping that you find next week's group easier and more helpful!

emwithme · 22/06/2016 22:05

Well done gadget Ken and heroes

I am not holding out much hope for WI tomorrow morning as I came on this afternoon. Ho hum fucking hormones getting in the way

maygirl · 22/06/2016 23:54

I maintained, disappointed as had a good week, totally on it, no meals out, and not a drop of booze, which I normally blame when I don't lose. Pound away from next stone bracket too, really wanted to get there this week.

Well done everyone, well jel of the losses!!

Hope new group better Ken, my first was rubbish, consultant never responded about food diaries and never gave me my half stone certificate. Admitted to never getting back to anyone by text- was only available in class.

waitingforwombat · 23/06/2016 07:20

Need some sw wisdom - been invited out for Thai - any low syn choices/hidden high syns to avoid?

KittyOShea · 23/06/2016 07:29

Wombat I'm not sure with Thai. I know that coconut milk is high syn so avoid the curries etc but not sure what a good option is!

Last SP day this week for me

B- porridge, cinnamon, fruit
L- salad and last of the egg muffins (4 syns for dressing and a little feta)
D- leftovers of crab and prawn courgetti with salad

Hexa- milk in porridge
Hexb1- porridge hexb2- 1 toast, 1 hi fi- I'm being a rebel and splitting it Grin
Syns- 4 lunch, 2 sugar, 2 butter, 2 milk so 10 in total

EmilyK83 · 23/06/2016 07:35

Hi waitingfor - best bet is to go for something stir fried with noodles or steamed rice - coconut milk-based dishes will be really high in syns...

ALemonyPea · 23/06/2016 09:36

Definitely go to a different group Ken, she sounds a nightmare and shouldn't be running a group of she can't behave professionally, regardless of what problem she seems to have.

I think I'm due on, had a raging craving for chocolate last night, went to bed at half 8 to make sure I didn't fill my face.

SP day for me today

B: scrambled eggs, mushrooms, cheese, melon, orange
D: chicken salad, hifi bar (1 HEB), 3 syns for salad cream
T: beef stir fry 2 syns for oil

Snacks: hifi bar (2 HEB)

nomoreheroes · 23/06/2016 09:36

Morning all - wombat I think Pad Thai noodles would be fairly low. Also soups such as tom yum (hot and sour). I've had whole steamed fish in Thai restaurants before, which is really light. Sweet chilli dishes probably not too bad either. Mmmm, love Thai food!

Trying overnight oats for breakfast this morning for the first time. Not sure I like the look of them, may warm them up a bit as I hate cold porridge!

B: Overnight oats, frozen berries, banana (0.5 syns for yoghurt, had no syn free ones)
L: Salad with ham and cottage cheese
D: Either chilli or spaghetti and meatballs, haven't decided.

Will try to stick to some syn free snacks like fruit and ham as I got rather carried away last night after weigh-in with treats!

maygirl · 23/06/2016 10:02

Thai I usually go for the whole fish too, usually comes on a bed of crunchy raw salad veg. Or spiced grilled chicken if I'm sharing with DD, just don't eat the skin!

EmilyK83 · 23/06/2016 10:16

Today's plan - day 3 of the scan bran challenge...

B - scan bran (HexB), beans, tomatoes, spinach, eggs, Quorn patty (0.5)
L - miso soup (2) and salad (if I want it - breakfast will be more of a brunch)
D - sausages (1) and mash and veg

Skinny latte as my HexA.

Finished yesterday on 10 syns, aiming for the same again today...

WingDefence · 23/06/2016 10:52

Morning all - Emily I have a fuck ton of scanbran in my cupboards because I bought it from holland & barrett and had to buy a lot to get free P&P! Grin So very interested in your challenge progress...

So I'm going to try to make burger for the first time ever tonight. Trouble is I'm worried about actually making them burger-like and not fall apart as I've tried to make meatballs once and they just did not want to form into little balls.

Has anyone got any foolproof advice on making burgers please?! (Don't say buy a burger press! Confused)

EmilyK83 · 23/06/2016 11:33

Ha!! Will keep you posted Wing! One thing I've learned so far is that it's far easier to eat when you have something liquidy with it!!

Burgers...my advice would be not to add onions, as that makes them fall apart. To be honest, I don't even add an egg! Just the meat and whatever seasoning you want (and use more salt than you think you need). Cook in a frying pan or griddle pan - I do mine in a dry pan and make sure it's nice and hot before I put the burgers in. Don't be tempted to move them before they're ready to be flipped either, as they're more likely to fall apart...

No need for a burger press at all (waste of money...) - just make sure they're pressed together nice and tight!

maygirl · 23/06/2016 16:55

Lol for burgers I do the opposite! I add onion, grated veg, egg and loads of seasoning but I bake on high rather than try and fry/grill and flip. So I don't need to turn till they are nearly done and stuck together well, rather than turning when half raw/half cooked. When have the time it's also helpful to make them up and chill in fridge for a bit before cooking.

Today B , scrambled eggs, beans, tomatoes 1 syn for 0.5 tsp butter

Miso soup 1.5 syn
L 2 ryvita speed heB, feta heA, tomatoes
Milk 3 syns
D salmon with pak choi, noodles, courgette and carrots , soy sauce
Biscuit 5 syns. Extra cheese 3 syns with cucumber

froubylou · 23/06/2016 19:16

Hmmpphhh

Made it to wI eventually tonight. 1.5lb on for a weekend away. Sigh

Back into the above bracket and feeling pissed off.

But back on it today.

B. Coffee
L. Was lazy and had left over heck sausages after an apple.
T. Gammon, mash potatoes and a fuck ton of veg. A bit of sauce too.

HeA in coffee. Heb will be hifi bars. Syns in sauce and g and t and 2 for sausages.

WingDefence · 23/06/2016 20:36

Oh arse frouby. I'm sure you'll lose it again next week.

Today B weetabix (DH did a shop while I was away and bought zero fruit. I was not impressed.)
L big ham salad, 30% salad cream (not measured but 1-2tbsps)
D chilli and rice. Yum.
Have been so busy today with work I didn't get a chance to snack until my kind friend bought me over a bit of her freshly made flapjack. Counting it as all my remaining syns :)

emwithme · 23/06/2016 20:47

Oh bugger Frouby that is shit.

Well despite being 100% on plan, because I came on last night, I only lost half a buggering bastard lb. I know that it could have been far worse so am just holding out for it to show next week.

Today's food:

Breakfast: brekkie muffins
Lunch: Tuna pasta salad
Dinner: Fish and chips (post-vote tradition) eaten on the beach. Pleased with myself because rather than drive to vote and then on to college, I walked (half hour each way) so that's some of the calories/syns burned off. However, it's very blustery here on the Somerset coast and I think my right ear is going to be giving up sand for the foreseeable future.

HEA: Milk
HEB: Hifi bars

Buttwing · 23/06/2016 20:48

Oh gains are just so bloody annoying!

I got weighed on Monday night and since then I've had the worst sugar cravings that I've caved into in the evenings. Anyway my period turned up today unannounced! I'm actually relieved as it explains me hitting the biscuits!!
So tonight I decided to busy myself so I don't eat crap and I've accidentally bought four pairs of shoesBlush at least my feet are thin

B-fruit and yogurt
L-curry and rice
D-chicken, salad, corn on the cob and caponata

2hifis, s milk, wafer bar(5) mini curly wurly(3) 8 olives(1)

EmilyK83 · 23/06/2016 21:06

Frouby, you'll easily have that off next week! And Em, should show in a great loss next time!

Butt...are you sure it's 1 syn for the olives? I thought 8 = 1.5 but I might be wrong...

Didn't eat a huge amount of my tea as I'm stuffed from the scan bran at lunch! BUT!!! I made a scan bran tiramisu for tomorrow (day 4 of the challenge) and I'm kinda excited to try it...

Broke up the scan bran and soaked it in coffee, amaretto (3 syns for 25ml) and sweetener till soft. In a separate bowl, I mixed quark with sweetener and vanilla, then I layered them alternately, and topped with 1 tsp of cocoa powder (1 syn). Hoping its good - will find out tomorrow!

Buttwing · 23/06/2016 21:09

Emily I always thought 1 but you could be right!
That tiramisu looks amazing! If it tastes good you might tempt me to eat cardboard scan branWink

Hulababy · 23/06/2016 21:13

Not been here for a week or so, but still seems to be going well.

I did my end of week 3 weigh on Monday - lost just over 10lbs so far which is good. Have 4 weeks till my holiday - goal is to lose a stone for the holiday, so fingers crossed. Will have another stone to go after that - but thats my first goal.

Have trained myself to like gin and slimline tonic as a lower syn drink, so been outside working with a glass this evening :)
