Ken - I stir fried in olive oil fry light.

KittyOShea · 21/06/2016 22:15

Emily you look amazing! What a flat belly!! Fabulous change Star

MamOfTwo · 21/06/2016 22:16

Thank you so much for the advice! I do like onion and garlic but find if I eat too much I get terrible stomach cramps. Not a fan of chili - my husband loves it and puts raw ones in his salad, yuk! Will definitely try out the alternatives mentioned. Love this thread!

KittyOShea · 21/06/2016 22:16

Positive that's a fantastic loss. Well done!

Aspergallus · 21/06/2016 22:16

WI night for me...
1st week 3.5
2nd week 4
3rd week (tonight) 2

So 9.5 in total so far.

Are there any tricks or magic to keeping it going and avoiding a slow down or plateau at this stage?

ALemonyPea · 21/06/2016 22:35

Looking good Emily 👍

Aspergallus, I've been on SW 10 weeks now, lost every week, I just plod along and hope for the best every week. Mix fruit and veg up and don't eat same stuff all the time.

Inspirational woman at my SW meeting this morning. I'm in awe of her courage. She was at group last week, had a mastectomy Wednesday and in today less than a week later, and lost. Lots of wet eyes in group today. Left feeling very motivated as if she can do it, so can I.

EmilyK83 · 21/06/2016 22:59

Thanks ladies! Progress pics every week definitely make me want to stick to it even more!

Well done Positive and Asper, brilliant losses both of you!

Nomore - I started at 14st 9, now down to 10st 10.5 (I'm 5"6).

Lemony, that's amazing - such a positive attitude from her! We have a similar story in our group - a lady who started at the same time as me in Jan who was diagnosed with ovarian cancer a few weeks after she started. Still came along to group in between her hysterectomy and having tests to make sure it hadn't spread...and apparently she even asked the surgeon how much her womb weighed (jokingly) so she'd know if it was worth going to group the next week! Really admire people who live with such adversity but are still so determined to make the best of life.

Feebot2001 · 21/06/2016 23:02

Had WI tonight, 2.5 off so got my half stone award. Chuffed with the loss, had been camping at the weekend so had been off plan, but tried to make sensible choices instead of mindlessly eating anything I fancy.

B - Morrisons low fat Sausages (2 syns), eggs, Tomatoes, Mushrooms, Onions

L - Ham Salad

T - Mushroom omelette

Snack - Square crisps (5 syns)

Start going to the gym with my husband in the morning. Should be interesting we are both terrible at getting up and going once the alarm goes off

EmilyK83 · 22/06/2016 08:25

Brilliant, well done Fee!! That's great news!

So, worked out that my pizza and garlic bread last night were around 40 syns. I never try and calculate weigh day evening meals, but will reduce my syns accordingly over the rest of the week!

Today's plan (and day 2 of the scan bran challenge):

B - scan bran porridge (HexB and HexA) with sweetener, apple and cinnamon - it's actually quite nice!
L - miso soup (2), chicken, celery, radishes, pickles
D - stir fry with noodles, cabbage, broccoli, baby corn, spinach and salmon

A few chocolatey syns this evening...

WingDefence · 22/06/2016 08:41

Morning all - love the pic Emily!

So my cousin and aunt were super encouraging about my weight loss last night :) Then they kept asking whether I could eat pasta (yes...) and served up a huge portion of creamy cheesy mushroom pasta. Which I couldn't not eat! Plus two glasses of wine...

But back on plan today. Have frosted shreddies (roughly weighed) for breakfast HexB with milk part hexa and I grabbed a crumpet with marmite too (no butter so 5.5). My meeting today has lunch at the end so I can avoid that, pop out and buy my own and then just the train food to navigate again.

Hope you all have a great day.

emwithme · 22/06/2016 09:30

Emily you look bloody amazing.

Just been doing my normal plodding on here. WI tomorrow - and it's my anniversary weigh in. Do you think I should treat myself to Cake Grin actually I'll be having fish and chips because of voting

My actifry arrived yesterday! Haven't unpacked it yet because the minute I unpack it I will need to use it and I haven't got any spare potatoes (and I've planned this week's meals without it). I have informed DH that next week we will be living on chips. You'd think he was a 6 year old the way he grinned!

Today's food:

Breakfast: Brekkie muffins
Lunch: Tuna pasta salad, apple, pear, satsumas
Dinner: Cottage pie, cabbage, carrots
HEA: Milk
HEB: Hifi bars

KittyOShea · 22/06/2016 09:33

Weigh in for me this evening so fingers crossed!

Today is another SP day so menu is

Before Weigh in:

B- breakfast muffins, grapefruit
L- salmon and egg salad, fruit, salad dressing (2 syns) hi fi (1/2 hexb1)

Hexa- milk in tea, syns- 1 sugar, 2 salad dressing

After weigh in:
D- prawn and crab chilli linguine (but with courgetti instead of linguine) and lots of veg

Remaining hexb1- another hi fi hexb2 toast x 2 with dinner

Other syns - 4 butter (on toast)
Total syns- 7

Phew that was complicated! Going to do one more SP day tomorrow then a few extra easy with a flexible syns day on Saturday for DHs birthday.

EmilyK83 · 22/06/2016 09:45

Thanks ladies! And good luck for tonight, Kitty!

calzone · 22/06/2016 09:48

So did my weigh in last night, 4.5lb off this week, got my 1.5st award & slimmer of the week.

Since I started 6 weeks ago (5th weigh in) I am down from 17st3lb to 15st9lb.

Dreading the week when it all slows down!!!!!

nomoreheroes · 22/06/2016 10:23

Wow, some great weight losses there, well done all! Here's hoping your good fortune rubs off on me, I haven't been very good this week, quite a lot of bread, butter and peanut butter but even so, the scales this morning dropped down under 12 stone for the first time in who knows how long - maybe 2 years? No chance it'll be like that at WI this evening but I will take any loss tbh honest!

Emily, how do you make scan bran porridge? Have googled but can't find. I have never had scan bran but I do love really dark rye crispbreads like the knackebrot you get in Ikea, or even dark Ryvita. I know many people say scan bran is like eating MDF but I think I could give them a try!

ALemonyPea · 22/06/2016 11:01

Well done Gadget!

Im in a good mood today. Bumped into friend Ive not spoken to in a few weeks and she complemented my weight loss. So feeling good.

I am thinking of joining a gym, but a pay as I go one rather than a proper membership as hard to squeeze time in, especially with the holidays coming up.

B: Fruit, peanut hifi bar (HEB), yoghurt
D: some sort of salad, with HEA cheese, 3 syns for salad cream
T: chicken chow mein

Not sure what to spend the rest of my sins on, might have a packet of pufts.

froubylou · 22/06/2016 12:11

Haven't made it to wI this morning. Boiler leaking so engineer been here since 9am. Pfft.

It's another day to get the flab off I gained on holiday. Will have to go tomorrow night instead.

B. Coffee
L. Hm veg soup
T. Sw fry up with peck sausages.
HeA in coffee, hifi for B choices.

EmilyK83 · 22/06/2016 12:42

Nicely done gadget!

Nomore - I made it up! Broke up the 5 scan bran and soaked them in about 200ml of my milk allowance in the fridge overnight. This morning I mushed them all up, added sweetener and cinnamon and bunged it in the microwave till it was hot. Then topped it with bits of chopped apple. Made it far easier to eat, but it was tough going by the end...think these 5 days really could be a challenge! Three to go after today...

houseeveryweekend · 22/06/2016 12:45

got group tonight ate a loaf of tiger bread last night because my DP brought it back from the supermarket because 'i had to get it it was only 10p' :-( ....... i also have stick to plan rigidly otherwise i wont be able to fit into my wedding dress which is two sizes too small. Wedding in three months. Have already lost 3 stone but now theres all this added pressure am really struggling

nomoreheroes · 22/06/2016 12:49

Thanks Emily - I think I might buy some tonight at class cos I'm crazy like that! When I was googling I saw loads of recipes for cakes etc made with scan bran. I rarely eat cake, so if I was going to I might just have proper cake and syn it, but it did give me ideas for breakfast. Maybe grated carrot would be nice cooked with the scan bran porridge? Or courgette? Or frozen berries? Ooh, the possibilities are endless!

Kenworthington · 22/06/2016 13:17

Well despite my terribly badly behaved week I lost 1lb which is more than I deserve to be frank Grin God knows how I clawed that back maybe it was being good for three days before the will power flew out the window and the fun flew in!

EmilyK83 · 22/06/2016 13:21

Well done Ken, that's brilliant!

Yep nomore - I was going to use grated carrot but turns out my carrots have gone all floppy...mission aborted! Was also thinking about synning some mincemeat to dollop on the top for a Christmassy flavour...definitely endless possibilities!

I might leave out the mushing tomorrow, see what it's like as an alternative to bran flakes...

Feebot2001 · 22/06/2016 13:22

Scan Bran Porridge sounds interesting.
Emily, you look fantastic.

Hubby out tonight with work so just me for tea. Part of me wants a takeaway, but the sensible part reminds me that it would undo my hard work!

B - Slimming World Quiche

L- Rainbow Salad with ham

T - Salmon Skewers with Stir Fry

Snacks - Fruit and a 2 finger kit

My dog seems to be a bit off colour so we aren't getting out as much as I want the last couple of days. He just seems quite tired, and very unlike him not to be interested in my lunch or the postman.
Will attempt to watch to the beach if he seems up to it and hope he perks up

EmilyK83 · 22/06/2016 14:10

Thanks, Fee! Nice willpower for tonight - being home alone is always tricky as cooking for one seems like so much effort! We always try and make sure we have some frozen portions of batch cooked stuff (normally chilli con carne or pasta sauce) in the freezer for those sorts of times, saves a lot of hassle!
