DCs being sick is awful isn't it :( Well done on moving into a new scale bracket frouby!

justamo · 13/06/2016 16:58

Well done Frouby & Wing. Interesting reading about being a target online member. I'm pondering switching to online but wondering if it's worth it. I've been offered a job which would mean I can't get to my current out of town group. The only group I could go to is in the evening in my village but that would mean I'd have to fess up to Dh and people in real life might know me! Dh thinks going to a diet group is a waste of money, his attitude is 'eat less, move more'. If only it were that easy.

I'm tired today and have hit the self sabotage button. I've not been near the biscuit tin for weeks but have made up for it today. Ham salad for dinner which should help mitigate the damage. I could easily go to bed right now but I'm playing netball later which will then mean I'll be too hyper to sleep ...ggggrrr.

Kenworthington · 13/06/2016 17:35

Hu all please can I join in? In on week 3 of sw, lost 2lb first week (though in all honesty I think I actually just lost my jeans from the week before), and 2.5lbs last week. Weigh in is weds morning. Thing is I just cannot STAND the consultant, she's so so rude, and I've genuinely not much in common with any other members there either. I don't know why. I mean presumably we are all there to lose weight right but I dunno it's just a really odd group. Thing is I can't even change and go to a different one as the same consultant runs all of them! She told me off last week as I didn't understand how to fill in my sheet properly, so she asked me if I needed help and I said yes please and she just talked to me like I was stupid , really slowly as if I was totally dense. I felt so cross I just went home. Anyway with the help of a friend I've worked it out. Anyway it's all going ok til today when I'm bloated as anything and feeling really constipated Blush. I prob need to drink more water. I'm eating fruit til it's coming out my ears. What else can I do?? I need a clear out before weds mornjng WI otherwise I'm going to have put on fgs. Sorry for tmi

EmilyK83 · 13/06/2016 20:12

Well done frouby!

Hi Ken! That sounds like a bit of a nightmare... Would say it's worth persevering and seeing how it goes!

Definitely advise drinking plenty of water - bear in mind that lots of fruit is full of fibre which is great in terms of helping you "go" but it needs lots of water to help flush it out!

Off to pub quiz tonight. Planning on sticking with Diet Coke...

ALemonyPea · 13/06/2016 20:26

Decided not to do an SP day as missed lunch so wanted something filling for tea. Had rice with fish and veg, job done.

Ken, are there any other groups you can go to?

WingDefence · 13/06/2016 20:36

Ken that sounds like a pain - the leaders can make or break your success sometimes. Perhaps give it a go for a few more weeks and then think about changing groups if possible, if at least to find nicer members?

After my great loss I've gone a bit crazy and managed to eat over 40 syns... In my mind I think 'it's right at the start of the week so I will be fine' but I have just opened a bag of salted pistachios from christmas that are out of date, eaten a fuck ton of them and feel very annoyed with myself!

Might go and brush my teeth to stop the munching...

Colourfulpast1975 · 13/06/2016 21:00

Anyone for a completely syn free pudding ??

Do you deliver Colourful? Grin

Kenworthington · 13/06/2016 21:08

Thanks it's (quite literally) a pain in th arse! Will pour in some more water and see if that helps.

There's about 6 groups in the City and she runs all of them! This is def the easiest time wise. I don't think I'll be making friends there, it's like I've got 6 heads. Also the leader woman is quite significantly overweight (as am I onv otherwise I wouldn't need to go)- however as the total newbie it would be nice to see people a lot slimmer than me who've successfully lost loads of weight through doing it already. I'm the thinnest there AND I need to lose 4 stone ShockConfused I'm not even joking, I was hoping for some really amazing inspiration from the group, instead I'm having to find my own!

Kenworthington · 13/06/2016 21:12

Oh god that post makes me sound really bitchy am honestly not, I think I just hoped for more from the group. But the threat of the shame at the weigh in is making me do it, just can't do it at home on my own. But it would be nice to have the support of the group but I just don't think its going to happen Sad

ALemonyPea · 13/06/2016 21:19

I know what you mean Ken. There are a group of old ladies who come to my group and they either stay the same, put a pound or so on and occasionally lose weight. I think they come just to socialise. They should just go to a coffee shop and spend their £5 on cake.

I hate the night before WI. I really want something to snack on, I have 7 syns left, but want a good loss tomorrow.

froubylou · 13/06/2016 21:44

Ahhh ken groups are a bit hit and miss. My old group was lovely. Leader very knowledgeable and supportive and everyone very friendly.

I moved house and the new group I go to is a bit different. I can't take to group leader. She doesn't know how to speak properly in public, doesn't motivated me at all. The group is a bit odd as well. There is a coupLe of nice members though.

I don't tend to stay to the meetings. I have a toddler who hates it and isn't afraid to say so.

But I have still lost 11lb in 7 weeks. Without group support. You just have to take from it what you need. I find this thread more supportive than group but need to get weighed somewhere else every week or I won't do it.

nomoreheroes · 14/06/2016 09:14

Morning all, been a busy few days so haven't posted but have been trying so hard to stick to plan, I swear! Visited my mum at the weekend, brought some of my own healthy faves with me (quark, berries, salad etc) and mum is also familiar with SW so managed to make the right choices. I won't deny, there was some wine, but maybe a bit less than normal.

Weigh-in tomorrow - I lost nothing last week so I am hoping for a pound or two this week - my randomly up and down scales are showing a loss of 4lbs which I don't believe but I live in hope!!

SP day today:
B Porridge (hexb1), milk (hexa), apple
Snack Berries and flavoured quark (1/2 syn), apricots
L Tuna salad, bread, chicken Bovril if I get the munchies desperation
D Sausage (syn free) and bean chilli, loads of speed veg, butternut squash chips

No more syns if I can avoid them as I went over twice at the weekend. Grin

ALemonyPea · 14/06/2016 09:54

1lb loss for me. I'll take that as was off plan Tuesday and had cake on Sunday.

maygirl · 14/06/2016 10:11

Well done lemony , frouby and wing :)

I had to switch SW groups for similar reasons, they can be so different!

Today butternut squash pancakes, sweet freedom 1 syn, berries
HeA milk in coffee
L ratatouille
Fruit
D chickpea curry, rice, spinach, salad
Late dance class, will have heB after that
Have great day everything!

maygirl · 14/06/2016 10:12

*everyone

EmilyK83 · 14/06/2016 11:02

Well done losers!

Stepped on the scales naked this morning at my mum's - they may not be accurate but the number had a 10 at the front rather than an 11! So maybe I need to weigh naked at group tomorrow Grin

Not sure what to do today, food-wise. Will be picky bits from the fridge for lunch, will head to Tesco in a bit to see if there's any nice easy low-syn stuff I can cook for myself and my mum tonight. Can't be bothered to cook properly...

WingDefence · 14/06/2016 11:28

"Well done losers!" Grin

Well new day, new start after my pistachio pig out last night. Unfortunately a close friend of mine, who lives in Mallorca, just popped round with one of the baked specialities called an ensaimada. It's like a cross between a pastry, a big white roll and I think it's made witth lard Hmm. Still, couldn't turn it down when she's brought it all the way from Mallorca for me!!

Definitely need to go as syn-free as possible for the rest of the week. Which is going to be difficult with lunch out for my mum's birthday on Friday and the village Queen's birthday celebrations this Saturday...

WingDefence · 14/06/2016 11:28

(Not the village Queen, the village's celebrations for the Queen's 90th birthday. A week late for various reasons.)

Mariqui · 14/06/2016 11:48

maygirl how do you make butternut squash pancakes?! Sounds good.

Buttwing · 14/06/2016 12:35

Wing I had to smile at village queens birthdayGrin

Hi all everyone seems to be doing so well! Congrats to all the losers.

I'm still plodding along I couldn't get to group this week so I'm trying to be really good as sometimes this sends me off the rails!

B-coffee no time for anything else
L-bacon and tomato omelette with beans, a yogurt,a banana and A hifi bar. I was starving after no breakfast!
D-stepson coming over so making a big spaghetti bolognese for everyone.

WingDefence · 14/06/2016 13:28

Oops forgot to post meals so far.
B 2 weetabix, HexA milk, sliced banana (low on speed fruit at home)
L (ish) ensaimada
D slow cooker beef & ale stew, plain rice, lots of veg

DDad has booked a lovely local foodie pub for DM's birthday lunch on Friday and I've looked at the menu already. Glad to see that there are a few dishes I think I can make SW friendly eg steak and other fish and meat dishes. I love SW!

maygirl · 14/06/2016 13:42

Butternut squash pancakes, SP
mashed butternut squash, about 150g approx
Whisked with 2 eggs
Sweetener if u want. (I added sweet freedom afterwards to drizzle over)
Fry small amounts like scotch pancakes in frylight, flipping when top starts to set.
Serve with speed fruit, quark/ yogurt
They are quite soft to flip, need to really let the base set first or it turns into butternut scramble! I bake some squash the night before if using the oven, or you can microwave chunks .

Mariqui · 14/06/2016 15:18

Great, thanks!

Kenworthington · 14/06/2016 16:37

Hi argh I feel like I've prob totally shagged up for weigh in tomorrow. Though I ddi purchase some size 14 jeans today which pleased me (ignoring how stretchy they are). Accidentally scarfed down a bloody prawn Mayo sarnie on the go which was a total error and waste of Syns for today. So goodness only knows what am going to have for dinner tonight. I don't beline for one second I've lost anything this week. I've even not had a drink since last thurs which is a loooong time for me. Being more aware of what I'm eating made me notice how Badly it affects my guts Sad I love the wine but it clearly does not love me back.
