Prof - I use quark as a sour cream substitute for my burrito bowls, works really well! And the BFree wraps aren't bad - bear in mind that they'll be surrounded with lots of lovely sauce and fillings too, you'll barely taste them I reckon.

Birthday today! But sticking to plan...

B - fruit and sweetened quark with an Alpen Light (half HexB)
L - Subway salad (3 syns for dressing and olives)
D - KFC style chicken, SW chips, beans and SW coleslaw

Dp is going to attempt to make a low syn lemon drizzle cake (8 syns for the lot) as my birthday cake - could be interesting! Skinny latte as HexA, second Alpen Light as a snack

tabulahrasa · 10/06/2016 08:32

I use quark all the time instead of sour cream, it's great.

I hated the bfree wraps though, they had a horrible texture.

WingDefence · 10/06/2016 09:37

Happy birthday Emily! And well done on losses etc.

Just a quick post as I'm at soft play with DD (body magic?!). I'm going to Aldi for the first time afterwards and I know lots of SWers swear by it. What should I buy? I've seen some salmon things on Instagram for 1.5 syns but what else? Thanks in advance!

Buttwing · 10/06/2016 10:08

Wing I love aldiGrin

Fillet steak
They just started doing 5% mince
Any meat
Aldi muller Greek style flavoured yogurts are free and really good
The fake muller lights are not free!
Cold meats are all really good
Fruit and veg are fab
Their benefit bars are Allen light copies the chocolate and fudge one is really nice
They do a mixed bag of mini curly wurly, crunchies and chomps all under 4 syns
Fresh king prawns are good
I buy the little pots of ice cream sundaes they are around 7 syns but are amazing
Mini milks 1.5 syns I think
The activia yogurt copies are nice and free.

Ermmm can't think of anything else. I swapped from Sainsburys to aldi a bout a year ago and I save about £70 a week (family of 6 plus dog and cat) I love it!!

Well done em and justso! And happy birthday Emily Flowers

B-fruit and yogurt
L- baked potato beans and bacon
D-chicken madras and rice
D-

WingDefence · 10/06/2016 10:32

Thanks! Yes the benefit bars were definitely something I've seen - I'm bored of the alpen ones!

EmilyK83 · 10/06/2016 10:37

Thank you!

I second the Benefit light bars - they're more substantial than the Alpen Lights too! Love their Super 6 fruit and veg deals, and they have some sweet shop ice lollies that are v low syn (can't remember how many but check the 20cal to 1 syn rule on the pack)

Also, they do packs of small pieces of meringues, fudge pieces and honeycomb pieces (in 3 separate bags) - each is 1 syn for 5g, for which you actually get a decent amount - great topping for sweetened quark/natural yoghurt with fruit for pudding!

WingDefence · 10/06/2016 10:55

Brilliant - thank you! Where would I find those Emily?

ALemonyPea · 10/06/2016 11:17

Happy birthday Emily.

I tend to do. It's of my shopping at Tesco, but do go to Aldi when I'm feeling poor every now and again. Their meat is really good, free range chickens are something like £4.

Busy day today, backwards and forwards all day.

B: Fruit and Alpen bar
D: fajita chicken pasta salad
T: Pork chop, potatoes, veg

WingDefence · 10/06/2016 11:48

In Aldi - zero benefit bars and none in the store either :(

WingDefence · 10/06/2016 12:32

Got a decent haul in Aldi but no benefit bars and I forgot those little bags of sweet toppings! DD was very happy with a pair of pink trainers Grin

WingDefence · 10/06/2016 13:21

Oh and B muller light and strawberries
L salad, no dressing and 2.5 heck Italian sausages so counting 1.5 syns.

froubylou · 10/06/2016 14:10

Afternoon all

Am going to burst. DD is still off school nut feeling slightly better so rook her and ds to soft play and for some lunch. It's a lovely pub, much nicer than your usual soft play venue and does a mean carvery.

So that's what we all had. To be fair it was probably best thing sw wise to have. Had a fuck ton of veg, Turkey and gammon and a roast potatoe. Ds had my yorkshire pudding. And I had gravy but not much.

So not many syns but it was very filling. Was hoping ds would fall asleep on the way home so I could have a snooze but he didn't. Ffs lol.

EmilyK83 · 10/06/2016 16:16

Thanks Lemony!

Ss Wing, only just come back to check the thread - otherwise would've replied! Hope you're happy wit your haul!

Glad DD's feeling a bit better frouby, sounds like that lunch was well deserved!

maygirl · 10/06/2016 16:34

Happy birthday Emily!
Out for meal with school mums later, so been saving my syns. Going to have fish/seafood and veg or a salad hopefully.
B arla protein quark 1 syn and heB grapenuts
L bean salad , Apple, satsuma
HeA milk in coffee
Grapes to keep me going now until late dinner!

WingDefence · 10/06/2016 20:15

Oh I do love a carvery! Not many places round here that do them but where we lived previously was ten mins from a Toby. Yum.

D was lasagne. I was going to make it SW style for the first time and DH took over (he normally makes our lasagne). He wasn't happy that I told him to use a tub of quark (which I mixed a dollop of FF cottage cheese into plus two slugs of milk to thin it a bit) as he couldn't get why that would be much healthier than a normal white sauce of marg, flour and milk Hmm In the end we all liked it except DS who kept saying it tasted of lemon ie sour which I'm guessing was the quark? I think next time I'd use two tubs as it wasn't enough sauce but it still tasted lovely.

Got some syns left though. Made some banana muffins earlier for DS's beavers camp and ate the smallest one so counted it as 1/4 of a Starbucks one which was the nearest I could find on the planner!

Anyone watching the Football?

Colourfulpast1975 · 10/06/2016 21:31

I lost 2.5 pounds !! Yeah me ! I have made the cauliflower pizza for lunch but the base broke...do you know what I have done wrong ? How thick does it need to be ?

ALemonyPea · 11/06/2016 11:15

Well done Colourful. No idea about the pizza, I thought mine was soggy in the middle. Next time I was going to use less egg.

At my nephews birthday party today. Going to have my dinner before I go so import be tempted to eat sugar laden goodies. There will hopefully be fruit there though, so all good.

B: fruit and yoghurt
D: ham and egg salad
T: chicken paella. DH normally adds chorizo, but he will add it at the end after taking my portion out.

froubylou · 11/06/2016 11:25

Well done colourful! Great loss.

B. Apple and coffee
L. Dunno yet. Possibly ham, mushrooms and eggs done in oven (experiment)
T. Steak, roast new potatoes and salad.

Trying to be really good this week as we go to.filey next Friday for a long weekend.

maygirl · 11/06/2016 17:43

Well done colorful my base has broken before, its so soft

Was happy didn't over syn by a terrible amount when out last night. Had a spicy prawn starter as my main course with steamed veg side dishes. 3 glasses wine,
Frozen berries with a little melted white choc for dessert.
Today mega gym session, recorded 1208 Calories burnt on my garmin!
B porridge heB with yogurt and banana, maple 1 syn. Satsumas at gym
L jacket potato with coronation chicken 0.5 syn and salad
2 lindt chocs 8 syns , strawberries.
HeA milk in coffee
D will be roast aubergine/courgette/pepper and tomatoes with a lean lamb steak.
No more syns today.

ALemonyPea · 11/06/2016 19:25

I survived the party Grin. Had some chicken wings which I syned, and some fruit but that was it.

Keep forgetting to have my HEB. Getting fed up of Alpen bars.

emwithme · 11/06/2016 20:05

DH is away. I resisted the treat cupboard last night (by going to bed!)

SP day today:

Brunch: Bacon, eggs, beans, mushrooms, tomato
Snack: Apple, pear
Dinner: Salmon fillet with roasted mediterranean vegetables (pre-prepped by Waitrose for just 3 syns!)
HEA: semi-skilled milk
HEB: Hifi bars

Friend is coming over tomorrow lunchtime with her DS and we're going for fish and chips at the beach. Cannot wait...

waitingforwombat · 11/06/2016 21:31

Had my scan yesterday, 21 weeks and same weight as I was at booking, so feeling really pleased! Had a disastrous start to weekend with friend bringing moussaka round for dinner, and going out today to a friends and having key lime pie -oops! We are at a kids birthday party tomorrow, so need to avoid the nibbles! Do have a vat of ratatouille in the fridge for lunches next week though!

EmilyK83 · 11/06/2016 22:53

Well done Colourful!

Mixed day today. Skipped breakfast, had lunch out of a falafel salad box with hummus. Estimating 12 syns, but could be higher - no more syns apart from that.

Dinner was leftover KFC style chicken with brown rice and a combo of spinach and red onions.

Big day for the fitbit though - walked over 30,000 steps! And bought my first ever bikini! Grin

froubylou · 12/06/2016 09:04

Oops. I fucked up.

Had a really good day. An apple for breakfast, AlpeN bar for lunch and was looking forward to my steak and salad.

Dp invited next door neighbours around to watch football. I was so annoyed with him cramping my evening of steak and kindle I got quite drunk. I think I had 4 g and ts, then we started on the baileys and tia maria. Think I had 2 or 3.

And because steak was abandoned back into the fridge we had kfc. I had a rice box and no chips which was quite good considering how pissed I was by this point.

So food syns were fine but liquid syns were very very bad. Sigh.

And I have a hangover and really want a bacon sandwich on white bread. Fuck sake.

EmilyK83 · 12/06/2016 10:54

Go for bacon on wholemeal, frouby! You can be strong!

Gonna be an interesting day for me - spending most of it on trains - going back home for a week to visit my parents. So far I've had a skinny latte (HexA), 2 kiwis for breakfast, and my train snacks (we had barely anything in the flat) are a punnet of cherries, 2 cereal bars (HexB), a 0.5 syn jelly pot and a 4 syn pack of chocolate buttons.

Dinner will probably be a jacket potato with beans and salad.

Not doing very well on the speed food front today, but resisted the smell of the pasties at the station!!
