Hope Calzone doesn't mind me starting the new thread- we've run out of room- eek!

Me new thing for this week has been cauliflower rice. Filling, doesn't taste too bad with strong flavours like chilli or curry but boy does it stink!

A small loss is still much better than a gain!

B. Coffee
L. Subway salad with a blob of lo fat mayo
T. Indian takeaway. Will probably be over on syns with the g and t I will have but we are out to a farm place with the dcs tomorrow so will walk it off a bit.

Really need to get my lunchtime meals sorted out for next week. Fed up of soups and salad. Am off bread so rules out a sandwich. I might make some tomato and veg sauce for pasta for one day. Or a nice big veg chilli.

maygirl · 20/05/2016 19:50

Feeling the same after maintaining this Wednesday, after being on plan and several SP days. Then yesterday was DH's 40th, so we ate out at an Indian . Didn't have a starter, dessert or booze, and chose a grilled prawn dish with plain rice , but today felt so fed up and had a big slice of bday cake.
Today
B nothing,
L banana +Apple
S mango. Choc cake many many syns
D roast chicken broccoli and carrots
Sharing wine with DH 10 syns
Bad day for me really. On the verge of quitting group as just getting upset hearing people talking about how much they've gone off plan then weighing and losing loads more than me ! And paying every week and making hardly any progress .

Self pitying post alert!

EmilyK83 · 20/05/2016 20:37

Just - chuck all your food diaries in here each day, may help you stay on track!

Frouby- how about making extra evening meals and having leftovers for lunches?

Sorry to hear that may. You never know, that cake might kick start your metabolism and get you losing next week...

emwithme · 20/05/2016 21:07

Lemony I stood on the scales almost precisely 24 hours after my pre-WI-weigh-in-at home (what, you mean you don't all do that Grin ); my scales weigh 1.25 lbs heavier than group so I adjust for that. I have just weighed now (because I had to move them to run the bath) and I weigh less now than I did yesterday morning at WI. But, at least it's a loss and I'm going for the basket of fruit next week!

I also downloaded MFP today so I could track calories as well, am going to still do SW but just logging what I eat on MFP too so if there's something where I'm going ridiculously over calories but not syns, I can see where it is. The last time I did SW I had a bit of a Muller Light (Toffee) habit; sometimes I was eating 5 a day, which although they're syn free is still an extra 500 calories I was throwing down my neck without thinking. I have come in at around 1400 calories today, which is about right (according to what they say anyway).

Does anyone know where you can get 5% fat pork mince? There's two recipes in this month's magazine that look fabulous (including a pork and apple burger that DH says he fancies trying) but the leanest pork mince I've found is 8% fat in Waitrose. I have access to all supermarkets so don't mind where it is, I just want to find it!

MamOfTwo · 20/05/2016 21:41

Oh dear, I know I have gained but should I still go to group tomorrow morning? So tempted to miss it but that way lies a slippery slope. Deffo won't stay though: "MamOfTwo has had a gain. Do you know why?" Me: "Well, it could be because I have eaten All The Food". Must get back on plan. It's just so hard sometimes though, isn't it? Sigh.

emwithme · 20/05/2016 21:56

Definitely still go to group, because if you're anything like me not going to group would mean you continue to EAT ALL THE THINGS.

36mum · 20/05/2016 22:32

I've been trying to walk more to help lose extra pounds, I broke my own record today. Does anyone else record their movement like this?

Em - our Asda does 5% pork mince too...

Nicely done 36mum! I have a fitbit and I'm slightly addicted...

justamo · 20/05/2016 23:47

Impressive mileage 36mum. Is that general out & aboutness or have you done a dedicated walk?
Emily you are right. I need to post my diaries be they good or bad. Here's today...
B - yoghurt & muesli (hex b)
L - chicken Kiev, sainsburys be good range but still 9.5 syns, new pots, green beans, spinach. Satsuma
T -3 laughing cow triangles (hex a), carrot, celery, spinach leaves, boiled egg, satsuma
Snacks - Alpen light (3 syns), rich tea fingers (4), slither of chocolate cake (??? Syns -say 8?) 1 square Cadburys medley (2.5)

Drinks - tea (using hex a), black coffee, 1 can Pepsi max

Estimate today's syns to be about 27. Going to bed feeling hungry.

Buttwing · 21/05/2016 07:13

Morning all I've had a bit of a mixed week this week but a good day yesterday and I'm full of good intentions today.

Smallest child woke me up at 5.55 little monkey, I came downstairs and bastard cat had caught a mouse and was chasing it round the living room not what I needed at that time in the morning! Anyway I managed to rescue mouse set him free, bastard cat is now giving me evil looks (nothing new there !!)

I'm also starting to potty training dc3 so I'm confined to barracks today which is always tricky as I pick at things I shouldn't!!!

IamNotDarling · 21/05/2016 07:43

Newbie here. 1st week WI 4lb down but it was mainly water weight lost from stopping meds.

I'm working away for a week next week and won't have access to a fridge to prep food and will be eating out at night boots meal deals and pret for lunch. Will try and make healthy choices.

Following week I'm on holiday but could go for a WI near the place I'm staying. Not sure I want to though.

Should I go or just wait a fortnight?

ALemonyPea · 21/05/2016 08:14

Ah sorry Em , though you had weighed yourself in the pm, then again in the morning.

Darling, in those circs, I'd just wait, but also try to be as good as possible.

I'm so annoyed with myself. Ended up going for Italian rather than Thai last night. I had deep fried calamari, a creamy pasta dish then came home and ate 5 biscuits even though I was full. Could kick myself.

Back on it though, feeling slightly better today.

calzone · 21/05/2016 09:11

I need a day on plan today.

B.....fruit, yoghurt
L....bacon, eggs, mushrooms and tomatoes
D....turkey burgers, wedges and salad

HEB.....bread roll
HEA....skimmed milk.

No syns.

I can do this.

ALemonyPea · 21/05/2016 10:30

I didn't even really enjoy it either. Should have just stuck to plan.

Onwards and upwards though.

B: Bacon, scrambled eggs and mushrooms
D: ham salad, melon
T: swordfish or salmon, jacket potato, salad, cheese from hea, garlic bread from HEB

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

MamOfTwo · 21/05/2016 10:47

I was brave and went to group - gain of 3lb. Gah. Can't make next Sat as so determined to lose 4.5lb by next WI to get my stone. Glad I went today even though it was bad news as it has made me determined to focus. Food diaries, new magazine and meal planning a-go here...

ALemonyPea · 21/05/2016 10:55

Well done for going. It helps with motivation, rather than giving up.

maygirl · 21/05/2016 12:16

Well done for going Mam, always good to get the new mag isn't it!
I got a Garmin a couple of weeks ago for my bday to map runs, not realising it also counts steps, so have been getting a bit addicted too to the step count! Also estimates calorie burn. Worked off 1066 in gym this morning in a tough 2 hr session but on active days walking but with no gym my calorie burn is quite low, telling me I need to eat much less to start losing again!

Will start tomorrow though as out again tonight continuing DH 40th celebrations. Had a look at menu and are healthy choices I can make, but will share a bottle of wine

B porridge heB with spirilized Apple and berries .Milk heA
Banana at gym
L 2 heck sausages 0.5 syn, mushrooms, tomatoes, beans, bacon, egg
No more bday cake!

D out , think will have salmon and veg, wine syns.

MamOfTwo · 21/05/2016 12:26

Thanks, guys. Have already planned dinners for this week. Thinking about getting a Garmin or Fitbit - at the moment I only have a basic pedometer. Would you recommend a Garmin Maygirl? Bit confused by all the options out there! Would probably just use it for step counter and calorie rather than runs as am not a runner.

froubylou · 21/05/2016 15:43

Afternoon every one.

Whoever said up thread to save a bit of tea for lunch the next day I sometimes do but usually don't really fancy it again. Am going to make a veg chilli tomorrow I think. Can have it with rice or a jacket or just as is. An easy way to get loads of speed in!

Today might be a bit of a write off. Been out for the day with the dcs. Had a jacket and cheese for lunch but no one can be bothered to cook tonight so will be a takeaway of some description.

EmilyK83 · 21/05/2016 18:03

Ugh. So tired today! Normally I'd just have a nap, but my brother and his friend are staying - they're out at the moment and I need to let them in when they get back.

Went to a vegetarian festival today, so have avoided having my healthy extras and syns in the hope that all the samples I ate when I was there are accounted for...

B - strawberries and yoghurt

L - rice, salad and dhal at the festival, with lime pickle

D - will be prawn stir fry

Need sleep...

ALemonyPea · 21/05/2016 18:15

Not sure if it's a good discovery or not, but, the biscuits I had last night were Border chocolate oaties, and are only 3.5 syns each. They are lovely, and 2 would definitely fill a sweet tooth gap. It's a win win for me as I love biscuits.

Buttwing · 21/05/2016 19:28

Gah my good intentions went to pot! Why is it so bloomin hard to stick to healthy eating when I'm knackered!!

Fill bought the kids a big packet of liquorice allsorts, of course the kids don't like liquorice but mummy does!

B-fruit
L-baked potato and beans
S-large bag of liquorice allsorts Blush
D-chicken salad

peachypips · 21/05/2016 19:59

Wahhh !!! Another week with no loss. I am beginning to think that this isn't working for me. This week I'm going to try:

  1. Drinking 2 litres of water per day;
  2. Not eating carbs at lunchtime, only at dinner;
  3. Going to the gym three times instead of two.

I'm so fed up! In three weeks I've lost one pound in total.

EmilyK83 · 21/05/2016 20:17

Peachy - not sure how many syns you're using but may be worth adjusting either up or down to see if it makes a difference?

Gah...brother and his friend are off out for vegan pizza tonight. All this talk of pizza's made me want one... Hmm
