Hope Calzone doesn't mind me starting the new thread- we've run out of room- eek!

Me new thing for this week has been cauliflower rice. Filling, doesn't taste too bad with strong flavours like chilli or curry but boy does it stink!

Well done losers

I might have to try that pepper pot. I love pork.

Shocking about that £150 Calzone. That's a lot of money to lose.

I had baked oats this morning for my breakfast. I think I've found a new breakfast food, it was like a hot blueberry muffin.

EmilyK83 · 19/05/2016 08:37

It's beef, nomore - used 400g of stewing beef, ended up lovely and tender! Sure chicken would work well too!

waitingforwombat · 19/05/2016 08:56

Hearing about everyone's breakfast is making me hungry! How do you do baked oats lemony? I tend to switch between porridge and overnight oats as its the only thing that keeps me full, so baked oats sounds like a good one to add to repetoire!

Mw appt this afternoon, so my "weigh in". Fairly sure it will be a loss, but just aiming for not gaining too much in next 22 weeks!

nomoreheroes · 19/05/2016 09:04

Ooh, beef pepperpot, now that does sound nice Emily! I used to make beef goulash and beef paprikash but haven't made it in a couple of years so that's given me some inspiration for dinners...

Also intrigued by baked oats...

emwithme · 19/05/2016 09:05

Nervous nervous nervous. WI in half an hour. Do you think if I allow myself to puke, I'll weigh less? I have no clue why I'm so nervous this week...have followed the plan 100%, even kept a food diary. Didn't go over 15 syns on any one day, most days between 5 and 10.

So why do I feel like I'm about to take my A Levels again?

EmilyK83 · 19/05/2016 09:38

Hope it went better than you expected, Em!

maygirl · 19/05/2016 09:58

Good luck em!
Had baked oats today too, I make it the night before and eat cold rather than get up earlier to bake it!

B baked oats with mixed berries heB and 1 syn
L sw quiche and salad
HeA Milk in drinks
D out with family for DH bday, will go for chicken shashlick with salad and 1 popadom with raita. Small piece of his cake.
Will have to be good with syns rest of the week, apart from Sat when we're out just the two of us .

ALemonyPea · 19/05/2016 10:32

Baked oats recipe. I used vanilla Activia as don't like muller lights.

ALemonyPea · 19/05/2016 10:34

Pressed enter too soon. They take 35 minutes, so not the best thing to make if you're in a hurry. I was up early this morning though. Don't forget though, cooked fruit is syned. I put 50g blueberries in for 1 syn.

B: Baked oats, orange and strawberries
D: SW quiche and salad
T: gammon, sweet potato chips and salad. Will make mustard sauce with philli for hea.

nomoreheroes · 19/05/2016 10:55

Thanks Lemony, they sound nice. Do you ever make them without adding the fruit at the baking stage? I know that cooked fruit is meant to be synned but I must admit I don't unless it is something like apples where it takes a tonne of them to make a small amount. For example if I throw in a handful of frozen berries to my porridge for the last minute while it is cooking to warm them through, I am not prepared to accept that they need to be synned - it's not like they miraculously increase in calories or I use any more than if they were fresh. Feel free to ignore me however, as this is just a "tweak" that I am comfortable with. Smile Aren't I the rebel?! Grin No SW consultant would let me away with it I am sure!

ALemonyPea · 19/05/2016 11:04

It's the first time I've made them, I suppose it'd be ok without the fruit. You can't add them after as its like a cake when done. I don't mind the silly 1 syn for the fruit, I rarely eat my syns. Didn't use any yesterday.

froubylou · 19/05/2016 11:29

Morning all

Baked oats sounds nice! Might try that next week.

My new scales arrived yesterday. Feel much happier with them in thee house. It's silly but I feel anxious when I can't track my weight myself. They measure body fat and water and give you your bmi as well which is useful. Will be interesting to track water retention over the month.

B. Coffee
L. Dunno yet. Possibly salad. Possibly soup.
D. Baked cod, new potatoes and veg.
Not thought about b choice or syns yet. Probably g and t later. Possibly some saucer on the fish.

Really determined to get my 1/2 stone next week. Then it's not too far off to go down to the next stone and should drop my bmi into overweight rather than obese. Which is pretty important to me right now.

randomer · 19/05/2016 16:52

head is mashed.....5 day break...didn't keep to plan and did drink too much...however nothing like the major face stuffing sessions I used to have. No ice cream or cakes.
3 lb gain.
It's madness

Squashybanana · 19/05/2016 19:04

Hi all! I tried quinoa made with almond milk breakfast, with candarel and raspberries. It was edible! I don't like using both my HE at breakfast.

So today;
Breakfast quinoa and raspberries with 1/2 heA milk
Lunch ham salad roll (wholemeal roll HEb) with pop crisps (4)
Snacks pear, banana
Bowl of rice pudding made with other half heA milk (I was starving!!)
Going to a works do tonight. Turkish restaurant so will stick with grilled meat and salad.
Drinks tea, coffee, diet coke, water.

EmilyK83 · 19/05/2016 21:26

Well - we didn't do a prawn stir fry in the end tonight. We did the Mongolian beef from the Two Chubby Cubs site - beef, soy sauce, ginger, garlic, chilli, spring onions plus sugar and cornflour (synned). Definitely one we'll be making again - was sweet and sticky and spicy, and 9.5 syns for the whole recipe, which supposedly serves 4. It doesn't, though - this was a third of it...

Twinklestar2 · 19/05/2016 21:33

Thank you may girl for the wraps info Smile

I'm going to make an effort to plan my meals and post them on here as I'm getting lax!

So tomorrow's menu is:

Aldi blueberry wheats and skimmed (a and b)

Chicken salad for lunch and a pot of m and s quinoa salad (5 syns)

Dinner meatballs and half courgetti/half spaghetti

Fruit and yoghurt to snack on.

ALemonyPea · 19/05/2016 21:45

I'm out tomorrow night for my sons birthday. We ar going to a Thai place, can't wait!

Workingmum34 · 19/05/2016 21:54

Can someone explain flexible sins for me? Haven't dared do it yet as I am not sure I understand.

emwithme · 19/05/2016 22:43

I lost half a pound. Half a fucking stupid pound. I was on plan 100%. Did a food diary and everything. Didn't cheat once. Half a fucking pound. Well pissed off.

However, I am keeping on keeping on and am doing another food diary this week.

Today's food:

Breakfast: Breakfast muffins, cherry tomatoes. Lemon drizzle cake (2 syns). If you can't have cake for breakfast after a shitty WI, when can you have cake for breakfast.

Lunch: Tuna pasta salad, apple, pear, 3 x satsumas.
College break: Lemon drizzle cake (2 syns)
Dinner: Tuna steak, Jersey potatoes omnomnom , asparagus tips and mushrooms. Apple, pear.
HEA: Milk
HEB: Hifi bars

Workingmum Flexible syns is just when you say (for example) "On Friday night I am going to have 50 syns" and stick to it, then carry on with the plan on Saturday morning; rather than going mental on Friday and not counting anything, then thinking "fuck it" on Saturday morning because you've gone way off plan on Friday night and then having a curry on Saturday night because you were off plan all day too, and then Sunday (etc etc). You are acknowledging that you're having more syns than your daily allowance but you're not going to beat yourself up about it for the rest of the week.

EmilyK83 · 20/05/2016 06:57

Em - it's still half a pound, at least it's still a loss!

In our group, if someone's disappointed with a slow down in losses, our consultant recommends that they switch things up a bit - try eating different foods and different healthy extra choices to see if it helps?

EmilyK83 · 20/05/2016 07:33

So...I have my brother and his friend staying this weekend, and they're both vegetarian - and pretty much almost vegan. That's dictated tonight's meal - and means I need to rack my brains for something for tomorrow night too!

So today will look like this...

B - fat free cherry yoghurt with strawberries, half HexB dried apricots and half HexB pistachios

L - the last of the leftover Caribbean pepperpot stew

D - Indian sweet potato and dhal pie

No idea about syns as yet - skinny latte as my HexA...

emwithme · 20/05/2016 09:17

I had a sneaky weigh this morning...it's showing 3 lbs down from yesterday. FFS, why couldn't that have happened yesterday? It's almost as if my body's saying...heh, nope. Oh well, I'm in the running for SOTW next week then Grin

Today's food:

Breakfast: Muffins
Lunch: Tuna pasta salad, cherry tomatoes, apple, pear, satsumas
Dinner: Cottage pie, carrots, green beans.

I really need to get my head into "work" mode but I am so tired I just cannot...

ALemonyPea · 20/05/2016 11:33

Half a pound off is better than on Em. Don't forget, if you get weighed at night you'll weigh differently in the morning as you've not had the food and fluids consumed over the day.

I'm so ill today, think I have a chest infection in top of tonsillitis. Don't have any appetite and meant to be eating out tonight. Just want to crawl into my bed.

B: SW quiche and orange (forced it down)
D: Tuna salad (or nothing)
T: Out at Thai place

EmilyK83 · 20/05/2016 13:00

Feel your pain, em - weighed in at 11st8.5 on Tues (0.5lb loss) and the scales are now saying 11st6! Hopefully we'll both have nice big losses next week...

Hope you feel better soon Lemony!

justamo · 20/05/2016 16:48

It sounds like you are all going great guns. Well done. I'm feeling a bit 'meh' I've lost my way a bit. I'm in that awful feel tired - eat sugar- feel tired circle. I know I need to plan and write down what I've eaten but I just can't seem to motivate myself to do it, consquently I've put on 1lb this week - surprised it wasn't more.

Please kick me.
