Hope Calzone doesn't mind me starting the new thread- we've run out of room- eek!

Me new thing for this week has been cauliflower rice. Filling, doesn't taste too bad with strong flavours like chilli or curry but boy does it stink!

Solina, if you can, hold off buying the countdown until the end of the month. From 28 May to 12 June (I think..it definitely starts in the last week of May) if you buy a 12 week countdown, you get one of the new tracker/journal things free.

I knew I hadn't done well and the scales showed it...gained a lb. Not sure where from, think it may be fluid retention; am feeling ridiculously pudgy and bloated at the minute. But I'm still 2 1/2 stone lighter...

I have taken a food diary and am going to fill that in. See where syns are sneaking in, if I can. Otherwise, the culprit is 2 litres of diet coke (!) at the rugby on Sunday. At least it wasn't cider, eh!

Not sure what's happening for dinner today. Got college tonight, and might (if they sort their IT issues out) have an assessment, if not, it's on to the next module.

ALemonyPea · 12/05/2016 11:47

Well done Solina! That's a great first loss.

I bought the 6 week countdown in my 2nd week, because I knew I'd waver and not want to return, which I did in week 3, but gave myself a virtual slap and cracked on. I'll be buying another one when this one runs out.

Been to my friends house this morning, usually we have cake, but she is lovely and supportive and bought strawberries and meringues, so just 3 syns rather than the 10/15 we'd usually have.

B: fruit, meringue nest (3 syns)
D: bacon, scrambled eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes, ciabatta (HEB)
T: SW sausages and mash, veg, gravy (2 syns)

justamo · 12/05/2016 14:26

Fantastic start Solina, well done.

3lb off for me today Grin SP seems to have done the trick. I have relaxed the plan / munched on chocolate in celebration. getting back on it with salad for dinner.

EmilyK83 · 12/05/2016 14:28

Well done just, that's brilliant!!

VodkaIceAndLemon · 12/05/2016 15:32

I had a rubbish day yesterday Sad PMT munchies kicked in big time. But thankfully it only lasted one day, and I feel better today. But omg, sooooo much crap consumed in 12 short hours!

Buttwing · 12/05/2016 16:08

Wow solina that's an amazing loss!

Ok day so far-

B-melon and mango
L-chicken salad
D-chilli, rice and salad

Em I love the aldi chocolate benefit bars they are much nicer than alpen lights!

ALemonyPea · 12/05/2016 16:33

Basin, I don't how you manage without a kitchen, I'd not be able to diet as I'd be using it as an excuse to get take always every night.

calzone · 12/05/2016 21:11

DH found a photo of me which ds didn't recognise!!

Great first week Solina!

SAS logging again this week!
B yogurt, tsp st dalfour 0.5 syn kiwi, banana, melon. HeA milk in coffees
L wholemeal thin with chicken, grated carrot and kohlrabi and free dressing
Snacks pineapple, plate of beetroot, lettuce and cold chicken
D left over pulled pork padded out with leftover baked and kidney beans. Brown rice, broccoli and peas
Only 0.5 syn today . Most unusual!

froubylou · 12/05/2016 21:36

Evening all

Bad day yesterday. Chinese for tea. Whoops. But I made it as sw friendly as possible.

But today has been good.

B. Coffee
L. Museil and yoghurt, heb
T. Lamb tagine and rice.
S. Banana and an apple.

Plus did a long walk.

Syns. 2 x g and ts (8), probably 2 in the tagine from honey and dried apricot.

My taste is really changing. I had beans on something the other day and they tasted really sweet. It's surprising how sweet stuff is when the have massively reduced sugar. I am also much, much less bloated without bread and other 'white' carbs. If my loss slows, would definitely be happy doing sp a few days a week I think.

emwithme · 12/05/2016 21:38

Wow Calzone that's amazing. You really do look like a whole different person!

So, I had the assessment at college (finally). Usually after an assessment I go for fish, chips and curry sauce but I really want to see a loss this week, so I went to Waitrose and bought food to cook instead Halo

Today's food:

Breakfast: Fruit & yoghurt
Lunch: Bacon, eggs, beans, mushrooms, tomato.
Snack: Apple, pear, satsumas
Dinner: Salmon, jersey potatoes, steam bag with kale, peas, edamame beans, sprouting broccoli, spiralised carrot. Mint sauce (1.5 syns)
Snack: Bag of Sour Cream Proper Corn (4 syns)
HEA: Milk
HEB: Hifi bars

BasinHaircut · 12/05/2016 21:58

lemony I do have a kitchen, I am being slightly dramatic Blush

It's just chaotic, messy, dirty and shit right now because all of the prep is going on before the old kitchen gets ripped out and the new one goes in next month. We have been resorting to takeaway too often though.

EmilyK83 · 12/05/2016 22:07

Wow calzone - what a difference!!

Em - impressed as your restraint! How did the assessment go?

Solina · 12/05/2016 22:33

Thanks everyone!

emwithme I have been told to wait by the consultant plus I am kind of broke at the moment so cant get the countdown just yet anyways!

Week 2 started ok, I am within my syn limit. Im struggling to eat S free food though. Not because I dont like any of it, I actually really love fruit and veg. Its just a habit I guess. Bit better today as I had salad instead of jacket.

So today I had:
B - fat free fromage frais, blueberries and strawberries and 2xalpen light HeB
L - egg and potato with salad + 1tbsp salad cream 2.5syns
D - pasta with mince, onion and some sweetcorn + 30g cheese HeA
Snacks - melon, ice lolly 2.5 syns and rye bread at around 6 syns + lurpak 1tsp 2 syns

calzone · 12/05/2016 23:01

Plan for tomorrow

B.....overnight oats
Snack.....peach
L....Linda McCartney sausages and mushy peas
D.....rack of lamb on BBQ.

emwithme · 12/05/2016 23:14

Emily I think it went well...most assessments are computer-marked with instant results but this one (excel module of L3 Accountancy course) is marked by our tutor so will know within 4 weeks or so. I came out feeling really positive which is good.

I am a bit astounded at my restraint, too. But there was no parking outside my preferred chippy, and I needed to go to the supermarket anyway (no bread for DH's sandwiches for tomorrow) so I thought I'd be a good girl Halo . Plus, it was really shit seeing a gain this week (after I've been saying I've only gained twice so far since Christmas, I had to see another one, didn't I) and I don't want another one next week.

waitingforwombat · 13/05/2016 07:52

Wow, some really encouraging losses this week - and calzone your sw mag material now!!

Totally agree with froubyloo - feeling so much better without loads of white carbs, still having pasta and rice etc, but replacing with 1/3 speed. Feel loads less sluggish. Also cutting junk helps my mood long term I think (need to remember that when I think I need chocolate binge!)

I think I'm beginning to plateau at 16 weeks, which I know is expected, but need to work out how to keep motivated, and make sure I don't cheat too much - weight gain needs to be baby, not cake!!!!

EmilyK83 · 13/05/2016 09:03

Keeping everything crossed for you, Em!

Today's plan:

B - fruit and yoghurt
L - jacket with salad and cottage cheese
D - SW sausages and roasted butternut squash with sage

Skinny latte as HexA, an Alpen Light and a Benefit Light as my HexB.

Finished yesterday on 10 syns...and I've had an amazing morning this morning! i had a target pair of trousers in my wardrobe from when I was 16 - a US size 9, don't know what that translates to! Tried them on this morning and they do up!! Still quite tight, but I don't care - put a smile on my face!

ALemonyPea · 13/05/2016 12:07

Great restraint Em.

Calzone, how does the diet differ when you reach target? Do you get extra syns, or extra healthy extras?

Emily, well done on the jeans. US Sizes are 4 sizes below UK, so 9 would be UK 13, or just nearly a 12 in my books.

B: ham and pease pudding rolls, pear
D: prawn and brown rice stir fry, plenty of speed
T: salad at my dads, dreading it as no idea what he has made.

Going to make myself a cheese toasty later for my HEA and HEB.

Notsofabflab · 13/05/2016 12:34

Oh wow! I had the deluxe Mac n' cheese outbid the 'Best Loved' recipe book and it was bloody gorgeous!

I know this sounds so very cliche but I didn't think dieting would taste this good!

Am I getting the third of a plate of speed food right in this pic?

Slimming World Support (5)
ALemonyPea · 13/05/2016 12:49

That looks lovely. Think I will buy that book next week.

Speed looks fine. I always bulk mine with pickles like you have.

randomer · 13/05/2016 13:12

can I ask for some help...we are going away on Saturday for 5 nights self catering in Yorkshire. I am a very very slow loser so do not want to come back to a gain.
I have got my head round the plan but still struggle with the concept of being allowed to eat after 40 plus years of binge and starve.
Suppose I just carry on with the plan on hols? Sorry for stating the obvious!

OrianaBanana · 13/05/2016 13:13

Lemony I'm still here! I still go to groups, although that's partly because I'm on a countdown. Lately I haven't been able to stay because my DH is working and I have DS (and it's his bedtime) but that's not really a bad thing as my weight is all over the place (up and down) and I haven't announced the pregnancy yet (only 9 weeks) so I don't know what I'd say in group.

You are allowed an extra HExA and HExB, but to be honest I've been off plan because I've felt so sick and tired - I'm usually in bed if I'm not at work - so I've just been eating what I fancy/can find. I've no energy for meal planning, and thinking about food makes me feel sick. DH 'cooks' but this mostly involves some sort of ready to cook meat in a foil tray from the supermarket (eg hunter's chicken) with potatoes. I went up 2.5 lbs the week before last, then lost 1lb.

I am hoping (and my pregnant consultant says this is what happened to her) that when the sickness wears off I will get back on it and limit my weight gain.

Thanks to SWing for the last year though, I got a 'normal' BMI on my notes at the booking in appointment (just), hooray!

waitingforwombat I'm really not thinking about my weight anymore and I think I will call target when my countdown runs out, then announce pregnancy. That means I don't have to pay for the time I go during pregnancy and there's no pressure to lose weight particularly. The emphasis (when I can think about food again) will be on healthy eating. Where possible! I'm not going to beat myself up for slipping though.

OrianaBanana · 13/05/2016 13:14

Just to add as my DS was 10lb 6oz at birth I am now being monitored for GD during this pregnancy - so another reason to eat healthily!

ALemonyPea · 13/05/2016 13:37

Randomer, pack some things you can snack on that are low or zero syn, have a zero syn breakfast that will be filling for the day, so you're not tempted with goodies, and try make healthier options. It's a holiday though, so don't let the diet take over.

Glad you're doing ok Oriana, sorry I couldn't remember your nn, and was on the app so couldn't scroll back. You're doing well though. There is a woman who sees the same consultant than me, but different time, and she is nearly full term and maintained throughout. Im in awe.
