Hope Calzone doesn't mind me starting the new thread- we've run out of room- eek!

Me new thing for this week has been cauliflower rice. Filling, doesn't taste too bad with strong flavours like chilli or curry but boy does it stink!

I tried Skyr yoghurt yesterday. It is like a greek yoghurt, but higher in protein than natural yoghurt but with half of the sugar ( that is naturally occurring yoghurt in milk). I had some of the honey sort, 3 syns for a 450g tub but also have the natural one to try which is free. Like it a lot so will get it again.

EmilyK83 · 01/05/2016 11:10

Helen - that afternoon tea looks so good!

Lazy morning this morning, so we'll be doing brunch rather than breakfast...

B - bacon, scrambled eggs, spinach

L - may pick at a few bits out the fridge if hungry

D - chicken breast stuffed with quark, basil and garlic, with SW roasties, butternut mash, carrots and stuffing (5 syns)

Alpen Lights as HexB, skinny latte in town later as HexA...

HelenF35 · 01/05/2016 11:22

It was magnificent! I am cringing at the Syns though. Shock

Today's plan is:

Breakfast turkey bacon, mushrooms, beans and scrambled egg free

Lunch baked potato with tuna (mixed with low fat yoghurt and cheese (he) with salad free

Dinner chicken and chorizo casserole with onion, tomatoes, mushrooms and sweetcorn with cous cous 5 Syns

Snack wholemeal bread with lurpack lightest 2 Syns

ALemonyPea · 01/05/2016 11:42

Off to a christening today. So I've had a huge breakfast and have two alone bars in my bag so I will hopefully be good and avoid all the yummy buffet food. Hoping there will be some veg/fruit and maybe chicken that I can remove the skin from.

Hope everyone has a good day.

B: bacon, eggs,mushrooms beans
D: 2 alpen bars and something buffet like
T: roast chicken, jacket potato with cheese and salad

ALemonyPea · 01/05/2016 11:43

Alpen bars, not alone bars haha

lonerboner · 01/05/2016 12:28

Epic Fail today - due to extreme tiredness.

A McDonalds cheeseburger happy meal.

Winner!

OrianaBanana · 01/05/2016 12:49

Next time get the chicken nugget happy meal, 15 syns if you have a free drink Smile

Buttwing · 01/05/2016 14:23

This feels like the longest week ever, dd1s sleepover is over and I'm back home after taking dd2 to a party. I. Knackered and craving chocolate so I'm going to get some of that yogurt from waitrose it looks good.

B-strawberries

L- bacon egg and beans

D-roast chicken and all the bits.

Fil has been in the lakes and bought us a huge cartmel sticky toffee pudding which is like heaven in a bowl!

PebbleTTC · 01/05/2016 14:35

Hi I joined yesterday and I am hungry!
Breakfast porridge and strawberries
Snack 2 boiled eggs
Lunch syn free sausages, bacon, eggs, potato cubes and beans

Any suggestions of something to eat to fill me until dinner

cece · 01/05/2016 14:38

I am thinking of joining my local slimming world. I have lost 2 and half stone on my own but seem to be stuck. I really don't want to be cooking different meals/food for me though - is it the sort of eating that I can incorporate with normal family meals?

HelenF35 · 01/05/2016 15:09

Cece I never cook different meals for the rest of the family. Lean meat and pasta, rice, cous cous and potatoes are all free you just need to add 1/3 of a plate of speed veg (most veg is speed) you only count fat/dairy/crisps/sweets etc. It's very easy to follow.

HelenF35 · 01/05/2016 15:09

Well done on your weight loss so far!

OrianaBanana · 01/05/2016 16:25

When I had the initial talk I thought I was going to be forever consulting my book and making special things. Then I realised that most of the dishes I make now could be SWed by eg not using oil to fry, adding extra veg. We eat more healthily on the whole as a family which is good, but I tend to give DH and DS extra cheese, garlic bread or/and pudding. Not at the same time.

cece · 01/05/2016 16:51

I already eat a lot of veg so sounds doable.

I think I will give it a go. Thanks.

EmilyK83 · 01/05/2016 17:17

Hi Pebble - make sure you're having your 1/3 speed at every meal - will help keep you full too!

Snacks - how about carrot sticks and SW hummus, or tzatziki made with fat free yoghurt, cucumber and garlic? Or hardboiled eggs, slices of ham, pickles, fruit?

PebbleTTC · 01/05/2016 17:41

Thanks, I think it's my body putting up a fight! I had a yogurt and that kept me going! Preparing a stir fry now!

ALemonyPea · 01/05/2016 17:45

The only thing I could eat off the buffet table was pickled onions Sad

Came back starving, so had some ham with pease pudding, and a packet of chilli su bites before my tea. 6 syns in those bad boys, but they filled a gap. Tea was lovely, I practically inhaled it. Thought I'd bought some natural yoghurt, but was vanilla, so sw coleslaw was abandoned.

EmilyK83 · 01/05/2016 18:58

That's so restrained Lemony!! I think I'd have cheated at the buffet!! Booooo to the vanilla yoghurt too.

emwithme · 01/05/2016 21:42

I am Worse Than Useless with buffets. Fucking love the things. ALL THE THINGS. But then again, I like food generally. That is why I am fat.

Today's food:

Brunch: Bacon, eggs (I have properly cracked how to do fried eggs in frylight now and love it), beans, mushrooms, tomato
Snack: Apple, pear
Dinner: Roast beef, roast potatoes (a zillion), yorkshire puddings, carrot, broccoli, french beans, proper gravy. Followed by melon, pineapple, mango
HEA: Milk
HEB: Hifi bars

ALemonyPea · 01/05/2016 22:18

I do like a good buffet, but I a. Trying really hard to get my first stone, which will hopefully be this WI or next.

My friend makes SW friendly potatoes, going to try them as they look yummy. She puts cooked potatoes into a dish, adds oxo mixed with water to cover and roasts for 45 mins or until the liquid is gone.

ALemonyPea · 01/05/2016 22:20

Half my post is missing. Cover half the potatoes and spray with fry light.

Geepee71 · 02/05/2016 08:06

I've been doing SW chips and love them, last night I did some carrots the same way and will do butternut squash ones too later in the week, really tasty and filling.
Have been experimenting with different spice/herb toppings too.

HelenF35 · 02/05/2016 09:00

1.5lbs loss for me this week despite a boozy Tuesday and a boozy afternoon tea on Saturday. 13lbs in 4 weeks. Was hoping for a stone but with the weekend that was never going to happen! GrinWineCake

Donthate · 02/05/2016 10:09

Great thread. Can I join you all? I started SW on Saturday. Need all the tips I can get!

EmilyK83 · 02/05/2016 11:26

Mmmm love butternut chips Geepee - just have to be a bit more careful about burning with BNS!

Well done Helen, that's great!

Today's plan:

B - Muller Light and raspberries

L - jacket potato with tuna mixed with natural yoghurt and sweetcorn

D - tandoori chicken, rice, veg.

HexA for a skinny latte, HexB for Alpen Lights...
