Hope Calzone doesn't mind me starting the new thread- we've run out of room- eek!

Me new thing for this week has been cauliflower rice. Filling, doesn't taste too bad with strong flavours like chilli or curry but boy does it stink!

Twinklestar2 · 30/04/2016 07:30

Ooh can you share that kfc chicken recipe? Looks lovely!

EmilyK83 · 30/04/2016 07:45

Ooh enjoy your afternoon tea, Helen!

Twinkle - sure! I use this one:

fatgirlskinny.net/syn-free-kfc-style-chicken-fakeaway-slimming-world-recipe/

For my coleslaw, though, I just use a bag of coleslaw mix from Asda and mix it with fat free natural yoghurt and lemon juice...

Rupeomatic · 30/04/2016 09:28

Morning all. What a briiliant idea for coleslaw Emily. Mayonnaise doesn't agree with me so I have avoided coleslaw for years, but had never thought of making it with natural yogurt. Guess what I will be having today Grin

Lost another pound this week, so 8lbs in 4 weeks. Slower than some but I am really chuffed.

Buttwing · 30/04/2016 09:35

Well done rupe!
Em that chicken looked so good I will be trying that!

Well I was a bloody angel last night when I went out for dinner, I had no starter, steak, salad (no dressing) and a naked baked potato! I had a teaspoon of dds chocolate fudge cake which wasn't actually very nice!
Today is dds party and we (and five 11 year olds) are going to pizza express. I really love their pizzas so it's like torture but I'm have a chicken pasta thing which has 6 syns. Then the girls are having a sleepover so lots of chocolate and crisps about!!

EmilyK83 · 30/04/2016 10:40

Well done Rupeo - nice steady losses! And the coleslaw really does work. Feels nice and light and not overly creamy - I don't put that much yoghurt in, just enough to coat.

Butt, I'm amazed at your restraint!! And in a way I guess that it's good that choc cake wasn't very nice...I'm like that with takeaway pizza now, over indulged a few weeks back on a treat night and felt so ill the next day, it's really put me off!

ALemonyPea · 30/04/2016 10:50

Well done Rupe.

I think I'll try coleslaw mid week. Looks lovely.

Lovely and sunny here today, think I'll drag DC out for a walk

B:Ryvita with philli and ham (hexa+b), fruit
D: prawn salad
T: SW salt and chilli chicken, with brown rice. My friends make this and looks delicious.

Going to try not have any syns today as christening tomorrow.

MamOfTwo · 30/04/2016 11:33

EmilyK, that looks so satisfying! 3lb off for me this morning, got my half stone award and 9.5lb off in total. Very pleased. I did stay to the meeting but she kept mispronouncing my name and also everyone was chatting amongst themselves when consultant was talking which annoyed me! I am finding this thread very useful, thank you all!

EmilyK83 · 30/04/2016 12:18

Well done Mam, that's brilliant!!

Yeah the talking in group annoys me too - just think it's really rude, especially when it happens when the person the consultant's talking to is upset about a gain or maintain!

maygirl · 30/04/2016 12:34

Wow great losses today!
Lemony Calzone invented a speed white sauce using cauliflower!

Boil cauliflower in veg stock, til soft. Drain it but keep the stock. Blitz with a handblender til smooth adding the stock as you go. You end up with a jug of sauce which you can add cheese to. We use this now for lasagne and macaroni cheese .

Off for lovely weekend staying with huge group of friends and all our DCs, we are all taking turns to cook, so will be off plan from tonight . It's also my birthday over the weekend . Soup next week sounds like a good idea to undo the damage! In my slim days I always ate soup for lunch 😄

ChessieFL · 30/04/2016 12:36

1 lb off today, got my 3 stone award and reached my final target!! So pleased, have been nearly there for ages but couldn't quite get there! It's my birthday on the 11th so I can enjoy a meal out without worrying too much.

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 30/04/2016 12:47

Inspired by the burrito bowls, just had a burger bowl - big bowl of salad leaves, red pepper and tomatoes chopped up, two sliced Quorn burgers on top, then finished off with chopped gherkins, a teaspoon of chilli relish and some grated cheese.

It was lush. Would have been even better with some jalapeños.

ALemonyPea · 30/04/2016 12:52

Well done mam and congratulations Chessie on reaching goal.

My aim at the minute is to get my 10%

Will give the cheese sauce a go, sounds lovely.

EmilyK83 · 30/04/2016 14:13

Well done Chessie, that's brilliant!!

Just been and done the week's food shopping, so this is today...

B - a skinny latte (HexA) (oops)

L - smoked salmon, scrambled eggs, toast (HexB)

D - seafood jalfrezi, rice, poppadums (2 Syns each), pickles (need to check syns). Might make a dal too, not decided yet...

Chocolate froyo for post-dinner synnage...

froubylou · 30/04/2016 14:48

Afternoon every one! That's fantastic Chessie, I bet you are chuffed to bits with that. I would be!

Will try the cauliflower sauce one day next week. We usually have steak night at the weekend so will add peppercorns to make a pepper sauce.

Haven't eaten yet today. Will make up for the curry last night. Tea is salmon, new potatoes and salad. Syns will be a bit of coleslaw on the salad, a g and t and maybe another g and t. HeA in drinks and heb I haven't decided yet. Might have a slice of bread with my tea.

EmilyK83 · 30/04/2016 16:08

Had bread with lunch as my HexB. First time I've had bread in a while. Definitely wasn't worth it, and now I'm sulking!

emwithme · 30/04/2016 16:24

Well done Chessie

Well...I came on yesterday (which explains the tears over the bloody lack of fish-and-chips on Thursday, FFS, I've been having periods for over 25 years now, you'd think I'd learn to recognise the symptoms ) - five days early (boo hiss).

Breakfast: Breakfast muffins
Lunch: Tuna pasta salad, lemon drizzle cake (2 syns), apple, pear, satsumas
Dinner: Cottage pie, carrots, broccoli

Today's food:

Buttwing · 30/04/2016 20:37

Gah my halo has slipped!!

Was all good at pizza express chicken pasta thingy with no cheese so I reckon 4 syns (6 with cheese) sparkling water, no pudding and a n americano.
Then got home and to "reward" myself I fell snout first into a box of rocky road. In my defence period is due any second....

randomer · 30/04/2016 20:40

just eaten a kind of mousse thing from M and S......quite nice. OMG its full of cream and a zillion syns.

EmilyK83 · 30/04/2016 21:13

Oh. My. God. This stuff is AMAZING! Perfect for a chocolate fix...and only 15 syns for the whole tub! I was restrained and had 1/5 of it for 3 syns...

peachypips · 30/04/2016 22:36

This is great for tips- so glad I joined. Need to get myself some of that EmilyK!
I'm struggling to day with not having fat. I have managed to stick with it, but yoghurt mixed with eggs as a lasagne sauce didn't go down well with anyone for dinner! There was a revolt amongst my boys.
Am also due my period so am starving and eating every bit of fruit in sight.
Well done Chessie- I dream of that day. Only two stone to go Sad

calzone · 01/05/2016 03:33

Peachy , you must try the cauliflower sauce for lasagne. Yoghurt and eggs won't cut it here either.

HelenF35 · 01/05/2016 08:54

Well yesterday was a write off. Afternoon tea, cocktails and shots! ShockWineCake

Back on it today!

Happy May everyone. Just reviewing my April goals and setting my May ones.

30 day shred - managed 20 days in April, will try and better this for May
Weight loss - 4lb - disappointed by this, I was hoping my first month at SW would be more impressive but then I've not stuck to plan and have hoped for miracles. Trying to decide what to set as a goal for May. Definitely aiming for my half stone award but wondering if I should aim for more. Maybe half a stone but that is going to be a lot of work and I'm not sure I'm cut out for that. Hmmm.

Food yesterday:
B - carrot & weetabix muffins with quark topping & raspberries - cake for breakfast is a winner!
L - boiled egg, ryvita, cheese, salad
D - Diet Coke chicken, frozen milky bar dessert & strawberries (4.5 syns)

All was looking good until wine & my body weight in chocolate happened Blush

Today's plan
B - hifi bar
L - rice salad, fruit
D - pork, veg, apple pie & custard
