Hay - only aim for more if you think it's realistic. I'm aiming for 10 stone - started at 14st 9 in Jan, and currently at 12st 10. 10 stone would put me in the healthy bmi bracket (which is something like 8st 3 to 11st), but I come from a family of curvy women so I'm not sure I could go any lower - and not sure if it would suit me if I did! Will decide when I get to target.

Maybe once you get to target you could reevaluate - see if you keep on losing or not. If you end up hovering around the same weight despite being on plan, maybe that would be a sign that you're at the weight that's right for you? Go with the flow, see what happens! Smile

BasinHaircut · 25/03/2016 08:39

hay I started wanting to lose around 1.5stone. Believe it or not this doesn't actually change my dress size. I'm a 12 now and will still be a 12 at the end. It will hopefully open up a few different styles to me, as my weight is always in my arms and arse so some clothes are currently avoided, but I'm 5ft 9.5ins with a broad frame and so a 12 is fine.

Sixpencenonethericher · 25/03/2016 08:57

Morning had my second weigh in and lost 2

KittyOShea · 25/03/2016 09:01

I started at 13 stone and bursting out of a size 16 (I'm only 5 foot 2). I'm now 9 stone 7.5 and fitting into mostly 12s and some 10s. My target is 9 stone (I should be between 7 and a half and 9 and a half for healthy bmi) and a firm size 10.

KittyOShea · 25/03/2016 09:02

Congrats six Flowers

Sixpencenonethericher · 25/03/2016 09:05

Thanks x

OrianaBanana · 25/03/2016 09:41

Well done sixpence!

I'm aiming for 10 stone - well inside a normal BMI for me which will probably be a size 10/12 and depending on how that goes might aim for the middle of 'normal', about 9 stone 8 I think which might be size 10 - but as my dress size doesn't change much it might not be, I'm not really bothered. I can't see me getting into the '9 stones' as I don't remember my weight ever ever being that, the lowest I remember was 10 stone 4 many years ago - and I was trying to diet of course.

B - experimental scotch egg (1 syn), coffee (HExA), strawberries
L - salad nicoise minus the olives so free, chicken drumsticks, other scotch egg if it's nice (1), fruit, Pepsi max, coffee
D - ocean pie from yesterday with broccoli and carrots
S - hot cross buns with butter! Will have to work out the maximum I'm allowed and eat that! Grin Love them and haven't eaten any yet.

EmilyK83 · 25/03/2016 09:47

Mmmm hot cross buns! I bought a pack of the Aldi Essentials ones for this weekend - they're 7 syns each, seemed the lowest I could find (without buying mini buns, which are pointless...)

KittyOShea · 25/03/2016 09:51

B- porridge, yoghurt, raspberries, cinnamon
L- scrambled eggs and mushrooms
D- prawn and crab linguine

Planned syns- 2 sugars for coffees, 1 hi fi (3)1 slice of toast and butter (6)

EmilyK83 · 25/03/2016 13:39

Weird day today - leaving for the in-laws and we were supposed to have gone already. Thanks to dp we're still here. Food's a bit messed up as a result!

B - raspberries

L - will have a late lunch when we stop at the service station, something low syn from M&S to eat en route if I can find something that suits!

Skinny latte as HexA en route too.

D - no idea. Some kind of salmon dish, which I'm assuming I'll be able to eat as MIL is also doing SW. But staying as low syn as possible till then just in case she decides to have a weekend off for Easter!

Gruffalosgrandma · 25/03/2016 14:36

Help. I need ideas for breakfasts that I can just grab.

KittyOShea · 25/03/2016 15:13

Overnight oats- 35g porridge oats mixed with 0% yoghurt and fruit and left in fridge the night before

Or actual porridge in microwave with a half and half milk and water. 2 mins. Then add cinnamon, 0% yoghurt and fruit.

Fruit and yoghurt if you want to save your hexb

Egg muffins- cut up bacon/ mushroom/ tomato/ mushrooms- whatever you fancy and fry in fry light. Spray a muffin tray with fry light and put your veg/ meat at the bottom of each hole. Beat 6 eggs with a splash of milk and salt and pepper. (A laughing cow triangle added in bits between them is also delicious) This should make around 8-10 muffins. Cook at 200 for around 15 mins until risen and golden on top. They keep in the fridge for 3-4 days and can be microwaved in the morning in 30 seconds.

The muffins and overnight oats take a wee bit of prep the night before but are quick, tasty and filling for breakfast.

randomer · 25/03/2016 15:15

lost the plot totally yesterday....big style

KittyOShea · 25/03/2016 15:18

It's only one day randomer. As my consultant says draw a line under it and start again. One bad day won't hurt your progress too much. Feeling guilty about it and continuing off plan will. Flowers

Gruffalosgrandma · 25/03/2016 17:17

Thanks Kitty, going to try the overnight oats tomorrow.

randomer · 25/03/2016 17:32

thanks kitty.....I thought maybe I will turn this on its head and think what do i miss and how can i still have it?
little snacky things like crackers and cheese
something sweet
wine
bread
so do i economise early in the day by having fruit for breakfast? one thought.
I bought some of those little tiny cheeses 20grammes each.
mm what else?

maygirl · 25/03/2016 20:52

Started off well today but ended up off plan/ flexi synning
B baked oats with raspberries 1 syn + heB , heA milk in coffees.
Hard 10 mile run, my half marathon is very soon!
Other half of my chocolate bunny eaten recovering in the bath! Bliss! 7 syns
L veg soup with SW wedges to dip instead of bread, and 2 heck sausages 0.5 syn .Had a free dinner planned but then was round at DMs and she offered to get us all an Indian, kids were so happy, they love curry. DH very happy, loves curry and he wasn't paying lol! Chose tandoori fish, veg curry and rice, salad and a poppadom . So probably had whole weekends syns but just getting back on it as normal tomorrow.

EmilyK83 · 25/03/2016 21:26

Randomer...maybe save syns for the evening as treats? So none in meals, then have a square of cheese, a small glass of wine and low syn sweet snacks (eg Mikados 0.5 each, flumps 2 each etc)? I rarely have Syns in meals and saving them for treats in the evening seems to stop me going off plan...especially as I'm often too full to have all of them so have fewer syns than expected!

Dinner at the in-laws tonight was baked salmon with lemon, parsley and garlic, boiled potatoes, carrots and salad (no dressing). All syn-free, thankfully. Just had an Alpen Light (1/2 HexB) and a hot choc (1.5) taking me to 3.5 for the day so far...may have some choc later but still have 1/2 HexB to use so might be a V low syn day today!

calzone · 25/03/2016 22:28

B....eggs and beans

L....salmon with salad (5)

D.....cottage pie with vegetables
Fruit salad and ice cream (20)

Am away for the weekend and trying so hard but being over generous in counting syns.

OrianaBanana · 26/03/2016 09:16

I've definitely had success saving my syns to the evening. I have something relatively high syn like a flake (7) or a double gin (6) and slimline tonic with ice and lime fixed in my head as a reward if I don't go over a certain amount of syns by the evening (say, 3). It stops early synning which inevitably for me leads to over-synning. I have real difficulty when I have no syns left in the evening.

Yesterday I ate too many hot cross buns. Of course. The rest are frozen and today is an SP day, with my first attempted run for a long time.

B - 2 small toasts (HExB) with butter (2) and marmalade (1), coffee (HExA), satsumas
L - bacon egg sausage (1) tomatoes and mushrooms
D - have some turkey steak to use up so maybe turkey and veg curry with cauli rice.
S - speed fruit and hifi (HExB2)

Buttwing · 26/03/2016 09:33

Hi all just thought I'd pop my head on and say hi, I've not been doing great over the last few weeks I'm planning to go back to group on Wednesday. A few weeks ago my dc4 was in hospital with dreadful rash and last week my dd who's five was taken into hospital by ambulance, at one point they thought it was meningitis but it turn out to be pneumonia. We are home now and she's much better but in all honesty food was the last thing on my mind and I've just eaten rubbish.

I've had a quick read through the thread and everyone seems to be doing brilliantly! Hi to all the newbies and I shall be back on Wednesday when I've faced the scales!!!Smile

randomer · 26/03/2016 10:13

butt....that sounds very stressful. Not the time to be worrying about syns and such like.

I can see the sense in saving up the little buggars to have at night but I'm wondering if i might be better incuding them as I go along do the deprivation/binge scene doesn't kick in

EmilyK83 · 26/03/2016 12:18

I swear by the logic that if I've made sure I've eaten enough for dinner, I can have a few syns in the evening and I'm unlikely to binge as I'll be full...seems to work but that might change!

We've only just eaten breakfast - really late start at dp's parents' house! Today will look like this...

B - satsuma, 2 poached eggs, rasher of bacon with fat cut off

L - probably just fruit or something as it's so late!

D - Diet Coke chicken with rice and salad

HexB will be Alpen Lights (actually - one Alpen Light, one Asda banana and toffee cereal bar which I found out yesterday counts as a HexB and they're actually pretty good! May get a skinny latte in town later for my HexA, as we're going shopping...

Sixpencenonethericher · 26/03/2016 17:05

I've lost the plot yesterday I ate half a large galaxÅ· Easter egg and 2 bars of Galaxy duo and today I ate the other half and a Galaxy duo. Bar
Tmrw we are having take away so. Looks like back properly on plan Monday

ChessieFL · 26/03/2016 17:25

I'm really annoyed. Two weeks ago I was 1.5 lb from target. Then I put on a pound, but that was expected as I'd had a bit of a bad week. Today I weighed in - and put on another half pound. I did go out for afternoon tea last Saturday but have been really good since then - no more than 6 or 7 Syns per day, sticking to salad with no dressing when I had a meal out, virtually no chocolate all week. I've also done more walking than normal as I've been off work. I weighed midweek and had lost a pound, but that had gone back on this morning with no reason. I feel really disheartened, got so close to target now it's slipping away again. I wouldn't mind if I'd eaten loads of chocolate!

Oh well. Today I had fruit salad for breakfast. Lunch was at wetherspoons and I had steak with salad, no dressing. Tonight is Chinese and will be having beef in black bean sauce and half a portion of egg fried rice. I have had 2 Cadbury eclairs, a chunk of chocolate, and a couple of DDs chips at lunch so will be around 25 Syns if I don't have anything else.

Lunch tomorrow is roast at MILs but plan to be good the rest of the week. Fingers crossed for a loss next week otherwise I really will be pissed off.
