Hash browns are only 3 Syns for 2. Well worth it too.

I love love love mushy peas. I could eat them several times a week. Yum.

I got up at 6.45 am for body magic running today with a friend. It nearly killed me but I felt pretty good.

Calzone are those chips??? They look like fries...

AvaLeStrange · 01/04/2016 20:05

I'm not a mushy pea fan either, but you could have ordinary ones.

This was my dinner - mango & lime chicken, wedges and an amazing salad.

DH went to Costco yesterday and Brough back a huge bag of salad made up of shredded red & white cabbage, carrot & broccoli with a sachet of salted cashews and dried cranberries & sweet onion dressing. I bulked it out with literally everything else in the salad drawer and it's only lasted us two days.

I'm going out to buy ingredients tomorrow so I can recreate it myself.

Your food all looks amazing!

Unintentional SP breakfast and lunch, so done an SP dinner too! Courgettes with a pasta sauce made from passata, garlic, onions, red pepper, mushrooms, celery, bacon, Worcester sauce, herbs and chilli powder! I put my HexA of cheese on top after I took the pic!

Lovely cooking going on, so many meals to try!

I make soup with any on the turn veg and broccoli stalks. Had a lovely slightly curried soup today for lunch with a slice of bread, decided on a SP day as had already had Grape nuts and yogurt for breakfast with fruit
Dinner was Bolognese with butternutsquetti, half He A cheese, other half in milk. Wine 6 syns, kettle bites 4.5 syns ,
Snacks Alpen light 3 syns, melon slice ham.
Making some baked oats to have cold in the morning .
I have a half marathon this weekend and fighting an urge to overeat and leap off the wagon as I know will be burning lots of calories.

Loulou2kent · 01/04/2016 21:28

Have to try those. They sound amazing! Thanks for the recipe. All those things are on my shopping list! Smile

Sounbelievablydull · 01/04/2016 23:26

Please someone talk me down just rushed to the freezes and stiffed ice cream
Know I'm sabotaging myself just need reality checks

Katenka · 02/04/2016 07:53

soun sorry I missed talking you down. Was asleep.

It's one night. Just get straight back on it today.

Do you know why you are self sabotaging? For me evenings are always worse. I save my Syns for them and have my HEB if they are hi fi bars.

BendydickCuminsnatch · 02/04/2016 08:19

I sabotaged myself yesterday. This is my pattern, and I don't know why! What is wrong with me! I had a good week and yesterday would have been fine too, except I had a couple of biscuits at baby group and I should have known I wouldn't be able to handle it. I need to have a zero tolerance policy on treats. Went on to have more biscuits and a hot chocolate, then went to the shops and got 2 kitkat chunkies and a packet of Jaffa cakes, then had a whole Hawaiian pizza for dinner and a microwave chocolate fondant thing 'because I'd already ruined my day'.

My conscious mind is like 'don't do it', and really really wants to stick to the plan, but my subconscious mind is like 'buy and eat, buy and eat!'. I am disgusted with myself and ashamed I ate all that!!! I don't know why I have these compulsions, it's not like I was starved as a child or had any trauma. The only thing I've recently twigged is that i started sneaking chocolate and eating it in the loo (at home) after school when I was 7 and we'd moved house (and schools) 3x in a year. So that was stress eating I think. But I'm not stressed currently, I'm just weak! I feel very sad and I'm NOT going to let that mean I eat!

Got my gym induction this morning and that always motivates me so we will see.

Katenka · 02/04/2016 08:26

I am not a fan of memes but I saw one once that said 'if you dropped your phone and the screen cracked, would you then jump on it until it was in pieces? because it's was already cracked.....that's what you are doing if you keep on eating because 'you have already ruined your day'

Something like that. I always think of it, when I have had a bad day and tempted to carry on.

Stopping also makes me feel like I have a little bit of control back over it too.

EmilyK83 · 02/04/2016 08:32

Agree wth Katenka - I save my syns and HexB for the evenings so I feel like I can pig out - it's worth doing! And buy really low syn treats so I can have more of them...the pic attached is from last night - all 15 syns plus two cereal bars for my HexB - I didn't get through it all!

EmilyK83 · 02/04/2016 08:34

Soun - if you're craving ice cream, it's worth getting in some mini milk ice lollies - they're 1.5 Syns each and definitely help to curb cravings - and because they're so low syn, if one's not enough, you can have more! Or Asda do a healthier chocolate frozen yoghurt which tastes just like really rich chocolate ice cream - it's 5 syns for a quarter of the tub...

FannyGlum · 02/04/2016 08:36

That's a great thought Katenka I'm going to use that!

Lost 0.5lb, which is utterly amazing considering I've not really been in plan. I've been ill and only eating what I can so lots of toast and cereal. But maybe didn't eat much overall (except for 2 easter eggs).

Apart from at the moment cos of Easter, I never have 'treats' in the house.

That's half a stone for me now!

randomer · 02/04/2016 10:04

Bendy our relationship with food can be damaged and complex. The older you are ...the worse it is ( god help me). Just keep trying

BendydickCuminsnatch · 02/04/2016 10:17

That's really good saying Katenka, I have heard that before. It's so true. Why is my phone more important than my body? 😄 Argh.

thelionsleeps · 02/04/2016 10:41

I had a similar day yesterday bendy. Went to a baby class and as it was the end of term everyone had brought cakes and things. I only had a couple of bits but with me it is like the sugar monster is released. Went and did a bit of food shopping after and even got a reduced easter egg for 30p as thought that is it now the day is ruined. I love that phone analogy - I think for me I'm best not having anything sweet and use my syns in other ways at the moment. I bought a 4 pack of crunchies last week and they went in 2 days.

Hey ho we live and learn. Determined to go for a run this weekend and the sun is shining which spurs me on.

Have a good weekend everyone.

EmilyK83 · 02/04/2016 11:06

Nice sunny day here too, love it!!

Need to go and do a big food shop today, so we've done our meal plan for the week... This is today:

B - fruit

L - boiled eggs, crudités, cottage cheese, ham

D - cottage pie with a swede and carrot mash topping, plus veg

Skinny latte for HexA, cereal bars for HexB. Off out for a pub crawl with friends tonight, going to try and stick to Diet Coke so I can use my syns on sweet treats when I get home...

AvaLeStrange · 02/04/2016 11:08

Sorry you've had rough days lion & bendy - it's weird how those cravings can strike and be so uncontrollable.

I am lucky that I'm on Easter hols at the moment and I find it so much easier to control my intake when I'm not at work. Normally I have breakfast at 7, lunch at 12 and dinner at 6, so inevitably get the munchies mid morning, mid afternoon and in the evening.

At the moment I'm tending to have a substantial breakfast/brunch at 10-10.30, a snack at about 3-3.30 and dinner at 7. I'm also redecorating DD's bedroom so I'm upstairs away from food and occupied which makes a huge difference.

On which note I need to crack on with the rest of my wallpapering.

Have great days all.

Flossyfloof · 02/04/2016 12:15

Bendy, we say that you have 21 meals in a week, so if you go off piste for one mesk, you just get back on next meal. One bad day out of seven, sounds as if you are going to have a good day today though! Having a biccy isn't the crime of the century but it is really annoying!
My friend made me some lollies with fruit and fromage frais, if ice cream is your thing they might help? I usually freeze my yoghurt too, for an hour or so before I eat it, lasts much longer and feels mor like a treat.
I try to save my syns for the evening too. Something like an Alpen or Hifi bar waiting for yu later might give you a bit of strength?

BendydickCuminsnatch · 02/04/2016 12:23

Flossy that's a good idea, I do get through a lot of yoghurt so might try freezing it for treats :)

Gym induction was exciting and I felt a bit like my old self again! :) going to go tomorrow morning as I was anxious to pick the baby up from crèche (first time I've left him with strangers!) so didn't work out after the induction.

Today food was/is:
B: banana and yog with tbsp honey (2.5 syns) early early morning, then 1 slice toast (HE) and scrambled egg around 10.

L: salad with bacon :)

D: most likely something using steak from an SW cookbook.

Thanks for all the support! Really appreciate it especially as I'm an online member so no group or consultant.

Have a good rest of the day everyone :)

maygirl · 02/04/2016 12:47

Its really hard isn't it? I'm aware when I'm self sabotaging but still do it sometimes. I'm finding 2 books helpful in changing my mind set and patterns, Eating less by Gillian Riley, and The thin woman's brain by Dilia Suriel. They are in agreement with the SW philosophy, losing the guilt and self loathing around food choices is key .

I want to get to a place where it's not that I have will power of steel and avoid eating certain foods forever, but like a naturally thin and healthy person I feel less bothered about food, can eat something if I feel like it, enjoy it guilt free and move on with my day without it making me feel I've blown it or triggering a binge later!
My DH is naturally thin and he has such a different relationship with food. Trying to learn from him too!

maygirl · 02/04/2016 12:52

Know what you mean about getting back to the gym after babies Bendy! Do you have any Buggyfit classes near you too? It's lovely when the weather's nice to exercise with your baby and likeminded mums!

BendydickCuminsnatch · 02/04/2016 13:32

may the gym does a buggy fit class, that's a good idea, I'll look into it! DS is 10 months already (I am still having physio after his birth so only just been given the OK to start exercising again) and very mobile but generally likes the buggy so it could work out!

I will definitely look up those books, I definitely need to change the way I think about food. Currently my day is divided up around meals - after breakfast it's 'what shall I do before lunch', after lunch it's 'what shall we do until dinner time', ya know? I totally want to be 'less bothered about food'.

Eek I am just kind of realising I probably do have some bigger food issues than I thought! Given I'm having such a hard time controlling myself :(

justamo · 02/04/2016 13:53

I feel for you lion and bendy I'm an all or nothing kind of girl too. I keep going over on syns but I'm comforting myself that I'm eating so much less than before. If I have a biscuit I'm managing to stop at one and not hoover up the packet. I'm in the early golden stage of SW though! Having said that I'm hoping that my self control will continue. I've signed up for 12 weeks which is keeping me focussed; I hate wasting money.

katenka I like the phone analogy, I'm going to remember that one.

Whilst I'm feeling positive that I can improve myself I've added another challenge and decided to attempt the 30 day shred for the 30 days of April. My flabby butt is feeling it today.
