I lost 2.5lbs tonight, that's 1st 5lbs all together in 7 weeks and I got slimmer of the month. Hoping to get my stone and a half award next week. I've never stuck to a diet for this long before.

EmilyK83 · 01/04/2016 08:27

Well done em! The goulash will be on my meal plan for next week...

Nicely done sleepless!

Eating a quick breakfast of fruit and yoghurt before the joys of a smear test at 9.40. Lunch will be picky bits from the fridge, dinner will a pasta bake with bacon, mushrooms, sweetcorn and a quark-based sauce, plus a salad...

katenka · 01/04/2016 08:38

Dr personally I find that big losses don't last that long (for me at least). So it may not be a huge issue in a few weeks.

My skin is definitely getting tighter and going back. Even my saggy mum Tum. But I do exercise and started moisturising religiously after every shower or bath. Really massaging it in. My skin is going back though, so I think it's helped.

Buttwing · 01/04/2016 08:45

Hi everyone I faced weigh in on Wednesday night after about 3 weeks of completely losing the plot. Well I say faced weigh in actually I took the cowards way out and didn't look! I also asked my consultant not to tell me but I know it's about half a stone. I just didn't want to leave group feeling depressed and would have probably taken comfort in more biscuits!
I woke up yesterday morning with a horrible tummy bug (I'm so sick of illness in this house!!) so spent 24hrs getting very acquainted with the loo! Feel much better today and on the plus side I'm hoping its kick started my weightloss!!!Grin

EmilyK83 · 01/04/2016 09:06

Well done on going, Butt - must've been tough but you did it! And hope you feel better soon!

randomer · 01/04/2016 10:16

posted but it hasn't shown? Any ideas for batch cooking please? So far I've thought of meat balls and curry.
People with slow loss....mine is pathetically slow too but I console myself with thinking a loss is a loss and it woul have just been mounting up and up.

EmilyK83 · 01/04/2016 10:38

Randomer - how about chilli con carne, stews, pasta sauces (freeze without the pasta), lasagne, meatloaf?

AvaLeStrange · 01/04/2016 10:41

There was a Thai curry in the last mag that was good. Sweet & sour, chilli, bolognese sauce?

I love salmon, so I buy it when the have whole or sides on offer, remove the skin and cut it into greedy decent sized portions, then freeze them inndividually in zip lock bags with a couple of tablespoons of whatever marinade I fancy. Just defrost and pop in the oven wrapped in foil to bake.
Would work for other fish & chicken & pork too.

randomer · 01/04/2016 11:05

mmmm nice tips thanks folks

Sixpencenonethericher · 01/04/2016 12:09

Well done losers , I had my third weigh in lost 3 that's 11 altogether but it was helped along by a lovely bout gastric flu

EmilyK83 · 01/04/2016 12:19

Well done Sixpence - and hope you're feeling better!

Just waiting for my hard boiled egg, then this will be lunch plus afternoon snacking...

Thanks Emily
Sixpence theres nothing like a bit of gastric flu to help things alongWink

B- nothing
L- baked potato, beans and ham
D-chicken casserole with added veg and mashed carrot and swede

I almost always make extra when I cook things, bolognese, chilli, curry, shepards pie, casseroles anything really.
I make a basic pasta sauce which I then freeze defrost in the microwave then add other things bacon chilli is good also prawns or mixed frozen seafood are favourites in the wing household.

Nonna buttwings pasta sauce-

2 tins chopped tomatoes
1 tin of tomato purée
One small onion
Few sprays of frylight/7 spray of olive oil
About a dessert spoon of Italian mixed dried herbs
Salt and pepper
Empty tomato tin full of water

Chop onion and brown
Add everything else
Cook on a low light for an hour and a half.

Dead simply and really tasty easy to add extra hidden veg for kids.

Just wondering if anyone who goes to class has gone to a different class because they have been away/missed usual class ? I got weighed today at different class expecting a gain , been away ! Had a loss , just wondering how accurate scales are ? Not celebrating the loss until l have been to my usual class on Monday ! X

trinitybleu · 01/04/2016 13:36

Resisted all biscuits whilst having coffee at a friend's this morning, even the Party Rings! What is wrong with me? Grin

Need a foolproof beef burger recipe. Mine are always a bit blah ....

My pasta sauce (that freezes fab) is 4 red or yellow peppers, an onion, a potato and 2 carrots with a carton of passata, garlic clove, oregano and a slug of balsamic. Add any other veg you have knocking about. Cook for 20 mins or so, blitz. Multiply up for the freezeand also works well in the slow cooker.

OrianaBanana · 01/04/2016 13:49

Linda if we have a certain consultant covering our class with her own scales we always lose loads then put most of it back on the next week with normal scales Wink. I am convinced hope that my 1.5lb gain last week was partly at least due to different scales because I went to a different group...

EmilyK83 · 01/04/2016 14:09

Trinity - I do mine with beef mince, egg (number depends on the amount of mince...), salt and pepper and dried mixed herbs. Sometimes add a splash of Worcester sauce too for a bit more flavour!

AvaLeStrange · 01/04/2016 14:22

The like the sound of Worcester sauce in burgers.

I usually use a generous amount of Schwartz steak seasoning and a dollop of Dijon mustard. Try not to add anything else but with extra lean mince a bit of egg is probably not a bad idea. Might have to do burgers next week.

Linda131963 · 01/04/2016 14:53

Oriana , thanks for reply , convinced scales were wrong and now more convinced ! Not wrong prahaps but different ! I will know on Mon when l weigh in at usual group ! I will update ! X

Flossyfloof · 01/04/2016 15:31

I know I shouldn't have done but I weighed myself today and seem to have put in a couple of lbs. hoping I can pull back before Tuesday night.
I have only had pasta once but this week gave had potato in soup and also wedges. Would that make much difference, do you think? Not had many syns at all, I never go above 10. Don't need to lose loads and always lose slowly - but I really don't want to have put in next weigh in!

BasinHaircut · 01/04/2016 15:48

randomer do a big shoulder of pulled pork in the slow cooker, make the syn free bbq sauce and mix, then freeze into portions. Freezes well, I reheat in the oven in a silicon baking tin and it stays nice and tender but goes crispy on top.

Bolognaise, chilli, shepards pie filling all freeze well.

I also frequently make veggie curries (with all of the 'on the turn' veg from the fridge/veg box) in he slow cooker, just chop it all up, throw it all in. That freezes really well and is basically all speed. Has the added bonus of making sure nothing goes to waste.

Loulou2kent · 01/04/2016 16:08

Ohhhh yay, can I join. Joined up last night & got a real shock when I got weighed ShockConfused need to really lose two stone by mid June! I'm very overweight. I have 6 stone to lose Blush. Never been this big in my life & yesterday I looked in the mirror & didn't recognise myself!

trinitybleu · 01/04/2016 16:39

Done worcestershire sauce, balsamic, mustard, all sorts - never taste like the do in the pub! OH reckons it's the lack of fat and lower salt. Maybe just egg yolk and add plenty of salt this time? Plus mustard etc.

calzone · 01/04/2016 18:49

Ooh thanks Calzone - you've just reminded me that there aren't that many syns in hash browns.

I know what I'm having for brunch tomorrow now Smile.

justamo · 01/04/2016 19:51

All these food ideas and pictures had me licking my lips until Calzone's mushy peas. There's not much I don't like but mushy peas might be top of my list of hates. The colour, the texture ... eek!

Fairly good day today but some snackage has crept in which has taken me over syns (again) however it is still much better than how things used to be.
