Ava - choc Quark?? Where might I get this? Preferably now this minute but if necessary I'll wait until tomorrow!

EmilyK83 · 29/03/2016 22:44

Hollandaise was 150ml fat free yoghurt, 1 or 2 tsp lemon juice, 2 egg yolks (but I'd use 3 next time), 1 tsp mustard powder. Mix them all together in a heatproof bowl, then place over a pan of simmering water on the hob and cook, stirring, for around 15 mins or until it thickens. Season with salt and pepper to taste!

maygirl · 29/03/2016 23:01

yummy cooking going on here! Was planning on doing the burger in the magazine this week but might need to swop now too!
Get well soon Basin . Hope you're ok Oriana. Did you weigh at a different group if its a different day? People at my group have complained about differences in scales between groups.

B Beans on toast HeB with a frylight egg on top, apple HeA milk in coffees
L mainly melon and yogurt, a bit of pasta+ veg but hadn't cooked enough and had to let DS have my portion!
Swimming with kids, more melon and some mango
3 mile soggy run
D salmon, roast med veg, broccoli, carrots, sauce 2 syns
grapes

Weigh in then meal out with the girls tomorrow night. Will probably have a salad.

Excited as managed to get on and nearly zip up a Karen Millen dress that I haven't worn since 2008 and is my real target! It wouldn't go past my thighs before. If I can wear this dress again and fit into my wedding dress I'll be very happy!

AvaLeStrange · 29/03/2016 23:05

Thanks Emily.

Flossy - it's just a tub of quark with a sachet of highlights or options hot chocolate, a tsp of vanilla extract and powdered sweetener to taste mixed in. I like the Bournville one.

Flossyfloof · 29/03/2016 23:06

Great thank you! I must have this tomorrow!

calzone · 29/03/2016 23:17

Ooh that sounds great - bet it would be nice with raspberries.

Twirlywoooo · 29/03/2016 23:28

Can I join you all?

I started SW two weeks ago, first week loss was 6.5lb. I've managed to ignore the chocolate this week so I'm hoping for a loss when I weigh in tomorrow.

obrigada · 29/03/2016 23:45

Joined SW this evening and weighed in at 12st 8.5lb. My goal this week is to lose 3.5lb. Hope it's ok if I join you all on your journey?

Not TOTM but a different group so I'm hoping at least some of it is the scales. I'm back on it today - if it was the scales maybe I can get an amazing loss at my own group next week as I have more than a week to claw it back. I'll try for 4 SP days in the mix too.

B - bran flakes (HExA and HExB) satsuma
L - Itsu noodle pot (1 syn), quorn sausages (1.5 syns), apple, pear
D - aloo gobi from last night with butter beans (it was from a takeaway so I'll count the rest of the day's syns to be safe), runner beans, possibly rice if I need it
S - fruit, carrot sticks, muller light if necessary

EmilyK83 · 30/03/2016 07:58

Good luck with weigh in tomorrow Twirly!

Obrigada - we're weight twins! I weighed in at 12st 8.5 yesterday, down from 14st 9 in Jan.

Today's meals will look like this...

B - fruit and yoghurt

L - jacket potato with cottage cheese and salad

Skinny latte as my HexA

D - Diet Coke chicken with rice and veg

Cereal bars for my HexB (I'm now addicted to the Asda healthy banana and toffee ones), and Syns in Easter choc. Went slightly over Syns yesterday, but less than I normally do on weigh day...

Flossyfloof · 30/03/2016 07:59

Oriana did you weigh at a different time? I am usually at 5.30 but weighed in a couple of weeks ago in the morning. From losing I lb a week I went to a loss of 3 1/2, then of course put on the week after when I weighed in at 5.30 again. Had lost that last night. I don't think you're supposed to but I sneakily weigh at home in the morning, which I think gives me a better idea - same time, same conditions, no clothes.
For once, I don't feel a great desperation to lose it all within a couple of days. I can definitely see that there is a difference on the scales. Can't really see much in my clothes as I have large boobs so tops and bras are the same and my stuff tends to be stretch and floaty anyway.

AvaLeStrange · 30/03/2016 09:51

Morning all and welcome Twirly & Obrigada!

TOTM for me, 3 days late and just after getting home from weigh in - grrr! Am hoping this is going to guarantee me at least 1lb bonus loss next week. Was going to have a crack at starting C25K today but feel like I've been kicked in the back by a horse so will just stick to my DIY plans once I get up

DH has agreed to Harvester instead of Jimmy's, so today will look like this:

B: poached eggs & smoked salmon, milky coffee (HexA)

L: Hummus, crudités, sweet chilli ryvita minis (4.5 syns)

Snacks - fruit & HiFis (HexB)

D: 'Skinny Chicken' & salad - keeping my remaining syns in reserve in case I fancy FF dressing/potato salad/coleslaw but will try to resist. Won't be drinking.

We're going to the cinema afterwards but I'm not a big fan of snacking whilst film watching so should be ok.

thelionsleeps · 30/03/2016 10:23

Feeling good here and the sun is shining which nakes everything seem better. Some really good losses here. I'm really hoping for 3lbs or more this week which will get me to 13 stone or below. I'm 40 tomorrow but determined to stay on plan.

Menu today
B - weetabix and milk
L - baked pot with baked beans and cheese and salad on the side.
T - homemade breaded chicke with carrots and green beans. Need to work out syns for breaded chicken but should be too much.
Snacks already - banana and mueller light cherry.

AvaLeStrange · 30/03/2016 10:37

Happy birthday for tomorrow lion Flowers!

If you're thinking of breaded chicken you might like to give this a try - its syn free as you make the coating with cous cous instead of bread and really tasty.

Made it when DD had a friend round a couple of weeks ago and he's been nagging his mum to make it ever since!

Alfieisnoisy · 30/03/2016 11:43

Finally rejoined SW last night after trying WW and absolutely HATING all the pointing.

I lost three stones with SW two years ago but regained it all and more. I am counting that as a dress rehearsal for the main event now though. I have a very disordered relationship with food and am hoping that with this eating plan AND working on my relationship with food by a diary of some kind I can finally get to grips with my weight. I have a great deal to lose. I am 50 now and I cannot continue like this as I will set myself up for an unhealthy old age.

Another reason that this is very important is my 13 yr old son who has autism and who is overweight too. He has no stop button when it comes to food and so I need to help him make much healthier choices about what he eats. I took him to join with me last night so he has the Free2Go booklet and we will see the GP as soon as possible for permission to follow the plan. I know this wont be an issue as for teens it isn't about counting too much and he gets extra A and B choices plus there is very little restriction . The group leader said he wasn't on a diet but it was about helping him make healthier choices and maintain his weight until his height catches up. She was great with him actually as he treated her and the group to a full demonstratin of autism in action Grin Blush

In the meantime I have to take him on a fairly regular basis for height checks and adjustment of any advice by the GP.

SW are the ONLY club to offer anything for overweight youngsters so he and I will be looking at stuff together. I am going to make him a chart with healthy extras in so he can count them off...he gets three of each a day but not measured although I will do this as if left to his own devices a loaf of bread just disappears Hmm.

AvaLeStrange · 30/03/2016 12:30

Welcome and good on you Alfie.

My DD is 11.5 and is doing Free2Go with me too. She had lost 3lb in 6 weeks but put 2 back on at WI last night.

As you say though, it's about making healthier choices while they grow. She is tall for her age and the top end of her healthy bmi range, but suffers with anxiety and self medicates by comfort eating in secret.

I just want to be able to trust her with a dining card when she goes to high school in September without having to nag about what she's eating or threaten her with packed lunches tbh. Also hoping to stave off any issues when we go uniform shopping. She doesn't like wearing anything too tight or structured around her waist which is fine with fairly relaxed primary uniform, but her new school is 'proper' blouses rather than polo shirts and they are only allowed to wear one specific type of skirt from the uniform shop. She's been in smart jersey skirts and trousers for the last three years and I remember from my own school days how uncomfortable uniform can be if its a struggle to get the fit right.

FannyGlum · 30/03/2016 12:32

I'm having a bad week. Easter weekend and all the chocolate and now I'm ill. No real idea what is wrong, some kind of virus. So I've been eating cereal and toast, whatever is quick as standing up for too long makes me nauseous.

Argh, I was only half a pound away from half a stone too.

justamo · 30/03/2016 13:13

Happy 40th for tomorrow Lion. Intending to stay on plan on your birthday has seriously impressed me.

Alfie - well done you and your ds. I love the approach taken 'he is maintaining his weight until his height catches up' that's made me Smile if only I could grow another 3 inches or so!

Fanny - hope the lurgy passes quickly

I'm a sucker for a bargain and couldn't resist a packet of mini malteser bunnies reduced to 37p in Waitrose. I have a 10% off card too so I bought 3 packets! At 3 syns per bunny I'm hoping they will hit the evening chocolate craving spot.

My first WI tomorrow morning, hopefully I'll have lost. I've definitely eaten less rubbish than normal but I haven't been on plan all week.

Linda131963 · 30/03/2016 13:43

Not been on here recently , great to see everyone making so much progress . Ava , l remember you having concerns re your daughter starting high school . Have you checked what is available at her new school , sure the catering manager would be able to give you some idea , without making a big thing about it . Hopefully there will be some great options , l am a catering manager at a secondary school and l do frequently deal with parents concerns re food choices available . The uniform concerns , l too to this day hate anything tight around the waist ! I was always apple type , never really had much of a waist and l remember my school uniform well ! Hope it all goes OK XXX

Hay135 · 30/03/2016 13:53

Happy birthday lionThanks

I've got 2 1/2lbs to loose to get my 2 stone award I really want to get to 2stone but I have a afternoon tea and cocktails afternoon/ night out on sat and my plan to be extra good the beginning of the week to help is failing food just keeps popping in my mouth Hmm

To be fair to myself I have an ill 3 year old who hasn't slept well for a week so I think I am craving sugar to beat the tiredness!!
I've had 6 1/2 syns already and it's only lunch time Blush

AvaLeStrange · 30/03/2016 14:01

Hi Linda.

They have a great a menu - sandwich thins, pasta/salad pots, yoghurt, fresh fruit and a 'Teppan Grill' for hot food which seems to be largely based around grilled meats and rice/noodles with various sauces, so there are plenty of healthy options.

It's DD's self control I worry about as they offer all the usual treats too and she's not a big fan of fruit which is tricky from a snacking POV.

They use a cashless biometric card system though, so we will be able to log in and see if she's making good choices most of the time!
