Yes I've saved on occasion Welsh. And still had a loss. Our consultant says if you have 50 in a day in one week (50! Big night out I'd say Wine) then expect a maintain. Any more and expect a gain.

Katie of course you must do what's right for you Smile but the syns are part of the plan. I tend to use mine on extra milk or ryvita or a hi fi bar or glass of wine. That way I don't feel like I'm being deprived. I also take 1 sugar in my first cuppa of the day to get me going GrinBrew

KatieT12 · 23/02/2016 17:01

This is irrelevant, but just looked on my group's Facebook and someone has got their 7 st certificate today, wow, yes please Grin

KittyOShea · 23/02/2016 17:02

That's amazing! Our highest loser has lost 8. Really inspirational to see that.

Katenka · 23/02/2016 17:20

Yes you can save them up. Though I wouldn't recommend it all the time. Can leave you feel deprived the rest of the week.

But if you plan it in and have it to focus on it should be ok, especially in your first week.

I don't have the full 15. The reason I asked is that I have known people not have them, at all, but they usually end up having a binge.

KatieT12 · 23/02/2016 17:30

I don't think everyone has a binge if they don't have syns. Maybe if they're really trying their hardest not to have syns, but that isn't the case with everyone

BasinHaircut · 23/02/2016 17:48

In my first week or so I struggled to use any syns. Even now I mainly use them in meals rather than for treats. E.g if I'm having a risotto I want to use wine and butter in it, so they are my syns.

I have had the occasional binge though, in the form of takeaway. That is my downfall rather than chocolate, crisps, cake etc. I don't feel deprived in a normal day though and if I do have a takeaway I know I can sort of 'recover' through reducing syns from meals in the following days rather than having to restrict treats etc.

That's just given me a thought for the other thread Katenka....

Katenka · 23/02/2016 18:35

katie no not everyone. But the people who I know who never have Syns haven't stuck to it. Especially long term.

annatha · 23/02/2016 18:47

My consultant lost 8 stone, and there's a few women on the social team who've lost 5-6 stone too so good to hear from them. Just had syn free bacon cheeseburgers for dinner. I love this diet!

sleeplessinmybedroom · 23/02/2016 18:49

Well done to all the losers. I need another medal today. I went out for lunch and had a jacket potato with sweet chilli chicken and no cheese or coleslaw. I'm a bit disheartened though because I just had a sneaky weigh and have put on 1lb.

KatieT12 · 23/02/2016 19:03

Wow, 8 stone! My consultant has lost 3, she's fab

skyeskyeskye · 23/02/2016 19:27

I am struggling a bit with feeling hungry sometimes and then all I want to do is grab a kitkat or something!

I lost

W1 - 2.5
W2 - 2.5
W3 - 1.5

so just missed out on the half stone award. W4 weigh in is tomorrow, so I am hoping that I have done it. I am trying to eat fruit when I feel hungry but there is only so much fruit you can eat I find. and sometimes no matter how much fruit you have, it just isn't satisfying. :(

Just cooking potatoes with bacon and baked beans for tea. All free foods and will hopefully fill me up.

EmilyK83 · 23/02/2016 19:40

Keeping everything crossed for you skye!

My Syns vary...sometimes I save them (I review restaurants as part of my job, so need to fit SW around it!), sometimes I don't. This week I used all 15 almost every day and still lost 2.5lb, but seems to be a different optimum syn number for everyone!

Today's food:

B - never do on weigh day! I weigh at 9.30am...

L - chicken tikka slices, cucumber, 1 cheese slice (counting as part of HexA), peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes

D - SW moussaka off the website - it's in the oven now, and interested to see if it's anything like the one I used to make! Sure it won't be the same without lamb mince though. Cabbage on the side.

Milk in coffees/teas as the rest of my HexA, and will be Alpen Lights for my HexB. May make dessert again - fruit, yoghurt, crumbled Alpen Light and mini meringues (1.5 Syns for 2) - will see how hungry I am after dinner!

Now to watch the football Grin

BasinHaircut · 23/02/2016 20:27

Today's menu was:

B - porridge with skimmed milk
L - leftover roast dinner (couple of syns for gravy)
D - wrap (9.5 syns) rice, veg curry, cucumber salad, chicken.
Sn - grapes and banana

So on plan but high-ish syns. Shouldn't have had the wrap really but DH was having one and I just thought 'ohh go on then'!

Tomorrow we are having smoked fish florentine for dinner and probably weetabix for breakfast. Im not at work so I might make leek and potato soup for lunch.

calzone · 23/02/2016 21:06

B.....quinoa porridge with fruit and yoghurt

L....chicken and cauliflower rice
Apple and banana

D....prawn cocktail, panfried Jerusalem artichokes, cabbage and bacon

HEA....milk
HEB.....hifi bar

Kim82 · 23/02/2016 21:14

Well done on the losses everyone. Today's menu (extra easy sp) has been:

B - alpen light bar (1st HeB) and strawberries

L - wrap made from 3 eggs and filled with mushrooms, tomatoes and baked beans, Greek muller light (0.5 syns), hula hoop pufts (3.5 syns)

D - 2 ryvita (2nd HeB) topped with scrambled egg, cress and cucumber sticks

Sn - apple and orange

HeA - milk

I'm finding the sp plan really filling, I didn't think I would as I'm a complete carb fiend but it's much easier than I thought it would be. I just hope it shows a half decent loss if I keep it up for a full week.

Hay135 · 23/02/2016 21:26

Katie I think Syns are need to sustain the plan long term. I have done SW in the past and had an attitude of no Syns I can have enough but eventually it gets hard and motivation starts to waiver then you stuggle to stick to it and that's where Syns make you feel less deprived. This time I have decided it's a life style change not a diet and as part of that I can have some treats (can you really imagine going the rest of your life without a treat). I do think it's a difference in short term vs long term goals. Don't get me wrong sometimes I still stuggle and find it hard to stay on plan but I would be worse if I could have no Syns.

Skye good luck for tomorrow!

I've just got back from my meal out and ended up having a carvery. Meat will be free as I removed the fat/skin was but the veg had loads butter in it and a honey toast parsnip snuck on my plate Confused. Gutted I didn't think about potential butter in veg first never mind just gonna say that's all my Syns for the day and then keep my Syns for the week limited to 5 a day a planned and hope I haven't done too much damage sigh Blush

KatieT12 · 23/02/2016 21:29

Hay I have said a few times that I will use syns when I want them Smile I'm not aiming for no syns, I just don't want anything with syns right now... I have used syns for some ketchup, but I don't drink tea/coffee, drink alcohol, like butter... So there's nothing 'little' I can really use my syns on!

KatieT12 · 23/02/2016 21:36

Does anyone have 'fat' related stretch marks? Sad or is it just me?

lunatrick · 23/02/2016 21:54

B - porridge (HEB+A) with summer fruits

L - leftover roast chicken, new potatoes and salad

D - Chinese chicken curry (with loads of onion, mushrooms and peas), rice and stir fried veg (mangetout, baby sweetcorn, onions, mushrooms, peppers, with fresh chopped garlic and ginger) - I used the Goldfish curry paste concentrate, used the SW calculator to determine the syns. Worked out at 13 for 50g of paste. I didn't even have half of what I cooked, so I'm calling it 5 syns.

Am getting to grips with portion size too. I WILL have a bigger loss next week! Oh, and lifts are out again, so lots of flights of stairs to walk up, so a bit of cardio there :D

Well done Ava, that's brilliant!

tabulahrasa · 23/02/2016 22:13

"Does anyone have 'fat' related stretch marks? or is it just me?"

I'm covered in them, from both pregnancies (got them in different places, yay, lol) from being overweight too probably...they're not any worse from losing it.

I'm back on it today after weeks of being off and I'm 8 1/2 lb over target Blush

KittyOShea · 23/02/2016 22:14

Well done Ava Flowers

B- porridge, raspberries, yoghurt and cinnamon
L- pea, ham and courgette soup, fruit
D- chilli con carne with tons of veg and sweet potato SW chips

Syns- 1 sugar, 3 hi fi, 3- 2 ryvita

KatieT12 · 23/02/2016 22:15

Amazing Ava well done!

I have them on the back of my legs, only appeared this year!!! Sad not going to even be able to get my legs out on holiday

Linda131963 · 23/02/2016 22:24
