Thanks Salty and Hay :) I'm not giving up - I'm definitely feeling better, besides the small weight loss, which is more important to me. I'm actually managing to concentrate more when studying for college, and it's not taking so long for me to understand it - I've made very good progress this morning, feeling like I've turned a corner with this particular assignment! I was getting very frustrated because my brain felt like it was encased in fog, was very vague and just 'bleurgh'.

I had the correct amount of porridge this morning and didn't notice any difference in quantity when I ate it.

I really need to drink more water, more anything! I just don't get thirsty though, so I forget. I've got an app on my phone to remind me, but I turned it off when I was in college and left it off because it annoyed me. I'll turn it back on for today.

Good luck Emily and anyone else weighing in today.

lunatrick · 23/02/2016 11:55

Ooops, X post! Well done Emily!

emwithme · 23/02/2016 11:57

Well done Emily

deli1976 · 23/02/2016 13:19

Well done Emily*

longlivetheking · 23/02/2016 13:41

Blush 1.5lb on after a not very on plan half term. I'm struggling today as really need to go shopping. I may have also fallen in to some chocolate when I got in from weigh in ChocolateCake

EmilyK83 · 23/02/2016 14:14

Thanks ladies!

Longlive - that's not bad at all if half term wasn't really on plan!

longlivetheking · 23/02/2016 14:24

Not really, you're right.

Initially I was disappointed as I thought I'd had almost all meals on plan, but when I properly thought about what I'd eaten, it's not too bad. Plus I needed a wee so sure that's the .5lb, right?! Grin

BasinHaircut · 23/02/2016 14:46

Emily that's great!

emwithme · 23/02/2016 15:01

Well I've reached the box that has my SW recipe books in, so I'm meal planning for the next week. Think I might start small with something like Diet Coke chicken - there's no point cooking some of the more "out there" things because DH won't eat them! He really is a "meat and potatoes" bloke, his favourite SW meal is my cottage pie (which I cook pretty much to the recipe my mum taught me years ago).

Today's food:

Brunch: Bacon, scrambled eggs, beans, mushrooms, tomato
Snack: Iceland meatballs, apple, satsumas.
Dinner: Salmon fillets, new potatoes, carrots, green beans.
HEA: Milk in coffee
HEB: Hifi bars.

Welshloser · 23/02/2016 15:31

Hoping someone can help, I have just started slimming world and am paranoid about whether I am doing it right or not!

This is what my first day looks like:

B - scrambled eggs (2), yellow pepper and onion (lightly sautéed using fry light) - this is all free I think?
Snack1 - Hifi bar (hexb) and apple
L - Large salad - lettuce, pak choi, radishes, cucumber, cherry toms (speed foods) and tin of tuna in spring water. Strawberries and melon and fat free yoghurt.
Snack 2 - 2 light laughing cow chees (hex a)
D - Rump steak and veg (SP recipe from magazine)

3 cups of water, 1 squash and a pepsi max.

does this sound right??

Thanks in advance :)

AvaLeStrange · 23/02/2016 15:46

Sounds alright to me Welsh but I've only been doing it for a fortnight myself. V.envious of your steak - it's weigh in for me tonight so I has my main meal at lunchtime and have a somewhat half arsed salad for tea Confused.

Em my DH is a fan of proper bloke food too, so I have stocked up on ready meals for the nights DD and I are having lighter meals. Next three nights are ok though as am doing Cajun pork with sweet potatoes & veg tomorrow, Thai chicken curry on Thursday & beef bourginon on Friday.

Not sure he's eating with us Saturday as he's playing cards and will have a kebab later in the evening, so will probably do Pasta 'n' Sauce with added lean bacon & free veg for DD & I, then roast gammon on Sunday, so a nice easy few days (subject to the timing of my BIL replacing my kitchen flooring Hmm)

Sorry! Phone can't make up it's mind whether it's posting or not.

Welshloser · 23/02/2016 15:55

Thanks....it feels like a lot of food for a diet, but I guess all good food :) I hope your weigh in goes well.

I'm only on day 2, really want a loss week one though!

Katenka · 23/02/2016 16:16

welsh how much water are you drinking. How big are the cups. You need at least two litres.

The rest looks fine but are you having any Syns?

KatieT12 · 23/02/2016 16:16

I'm 5 lbs lighter so far and joined Thursday, pretty chuffed! Aiming for half a stone for my 1st week! Fingers crossed Smile

Welshloser · 23/02/2016 16:18

Katenka thanks for reassurance :)

I've drunk 750ml x2 bottles of water plus a further 500ml in a glass this morning. 1 x glass of squash roughly 500ml and a can of pepsi max!

I had a pre booked afternoon tea this Saturday so I was planning on saving the syns for that (consultant said you could save them up)???

Welshloser · 23/02/2016 16:19

KatieT12 that's amazing - what are you eating? As much as me? Less?

KatieT12 · 23/02/2016 16:25

Welsh - thanks Smile just read your plan and it sounds about as much as I'm having! I don't have too much, I don't ever go over 5 syns and I know some people say you should eat at least 5, I don't see why!? Anyway, sounds good what you're having... I'm not doing any exercise either Grin but I suppose I have quite a bit to lose and I think that is a big factor!

KatieT12 · 23/02/2016 16:27

Welsh I also took my own food to a meal out, that was tough... I sat with them and then ate it after! I go on holiday in 5 weeks though Confused

KittyOShea · 23/02/2016 16:39

The syns are part of the plan too. You should have 5-15 every day. SW is a sustainable lifestyle not a diet and fat is a necessary dietary requirement. Also the syns mean you are more likely to stick at it as nothing is forbidden which can make you feel hard done by after a few weeks.

I find 7/8 syns is my optimum although I'm sure this varies for everyone.

Welshloser · 23/02/2016 16:47

Kitty have you ever saved syns consultant seemed to think that was OK? I will definitely be having syns on a normal week, I just wanted to minimise damage by not eating them through the week :)

Katie - sounds fab I have a hol in 4 weeks its not a hot weather hol but it would be nice to be at a point where my family notices a change by then!

KatieT12 · 23/02/2016 16:47

Well, I may have syns in a few weeks, but probably not before my holiday. There's enough food to be allowed. I'm not purposely going to eat fat, if I don't want it. I sometimes use a syn on ketchup and that's enough.

KatieT12 · 23/02/2016 16:49

Welsh - ah, where you going? I'm going to Spain Sad I've been big all my life and have gone there, I'm so used to not doing the stuff that involve a swimming costume/sunbathing, I'm kinda just used to that. I enjoy the hotel, etc. Grin maybe next year I'll be getting a costume on and getting in the pool! If only I had started earlier Sad

Welshloser · 23/02/2016 16:51

Don't worry KatieT12 I am sure even if you lose a few lbs you will feel better, I know I would :) I used to be a really healthy size, but have put on about 6-7 stone since then and feel horrible and unhealthy......really hoping this works and I can stink to it!
