Wow well done Kat, that's awesome! :)

KatieT12 · 22/02/2016 09:55

Do your consultants text you a lot? I think it's lovely how much she has messaged so far Smile

Katenka · 22/02/2016 10:19

Thank you. Grin

Katie in the first week I got a hand written letter through the post welcoming me and giving some encouragement. I loved it.

Our group has an fb page and the consultant is on there several time a day answering questions or posting information.

She hasn't text but is always contactable.

sleeplessinmybedroom · 22/02/2016 10:28

Well done Kat. I didn't notice the new thread. I thought the old one was quiet.

KatieT12 · 22/02/2016 10:40

I think it depends what you circle on the sign up sheet, as to how they contact you Smile

Yes, we have a Facebook too!

EmilyK83 · 22/02/2016 10:50

Great news, well done Kat!

OrianaBanana · 22/02/2016 11:10

whyis, strictly if you blitz fruit you have to syn it.

Today is an SP day:

B - porridge (HExB) made with water and a bit of skimmed milk (HExA and in teas and coffees throughout), sweetener and coffee
L - quark and salmon pate (lots) with lemon and black pepper (yum), red pepper and carrot sticks. Clementines, apple
D - cottage pie with carrot and swede topping.
S - Lemon whirl (4 syns) and I'll try and stick at that. Maybe some speed fruit

Kim82 · 22/02/2016 11:10

Well done Kat, that's great! I've put 0.5lb on this week which is better than I thought. Back on it fully this week.

Katenka · 22/02/2016 11:22

This question is slimming work related but not weight loss related.

How do you get through groups with people that frustrate you. I have aspergers so it may be that.

But there is a man at our group who comments every time the consultant talks to someone. He tells them they are wrong or why they haven't lost weight. Never in an advice kind of way in 'you need to do this, or its wrong'. Today he claimed that wine shouldn't be synned or effect weight loss as its 'sugar and fat free'. I disagreed with him and told him alcohol turns I sugar and sugar is added to make wine but he kept saying 'my research shows that's not true'.

I just want to shout 'shut up!' But don't. He also you uses the phrase 'where women go wrong with weight loss is...' Feel like it's underhand sexisim and he thinks he is there to guide the way.

Sorry bit of a rant, but any advice is welcome. He is starting to put me off staying to class. Class ran over 25 mins today. Mainly because he was banging on.

Katenka · 22/02/2016 11:23

kim well done for putting it behind you and cracking on!

Kim82 · 22/02/2016 12:15

Could you have a word with the consultant Kat and say it is putting you off staying for group, I'm sure other people will be saying the same and see what the consultant says. That's worth a try maybe?

My menu for today doing Extra Easy SP is:

B - none as I was out at group

L - 2 x ryvita (1st HEB) with fat free chilli and grilled pepper cottage cheese, an apple, Greek muller light (0.5 syns)

D - chicken wrapped in bacon, broccoli, cauliflower, sprouts and cabbage

Sn - strawberries, orange, alpen light bar (2nd HEB)

HEA - milk in cups of tea

I have a hair appt this afternoon and I'm going to walk there and back rather than drive, it's around 30 mins each way so that'll be today's exercise.

Katenka · 22/02/2016 12:17

Thanks Kim, I didn't know if that would be a bit akward. But it might be worth a try.

A school friend an her husband goes and I know they both feel the same, maybe other people have spoken to her.

Will try that thanks.

BasinHaircut · 22/02/2016 12:48

Oh god Katenka that would drive me insane! Definitely say something as the group is for everyone, not just this guy.

OrianaBanana · 22/02/2016 13:03

Katenka definitely talk to the consultant as they should be keeping the group on track and need to know if people are upset.

I'm working up to telling mine I feel frustrated every group because there's a knot of friends who chat away throughout group amongst themselves and it's very annoying/offputting. A visiting consultant pulled them up on it which was good; I think ours feels rude doing so but it's just not on.

Katenka · 22/02/2016 13:13

Yes I will have a word.

She does try and shut him up. But he just talks over her. I can see she is getting annoyed.

Maybe saying something will push her to do something.

He is also quite snarky about her behind her back and slimming world as a whole. Don't know why he goes.

oriana that must be really frustrating. Thanks for you. Smile

KatieT12 · 22/02/2016 15:30

Syn free ice-cream, oh my life - incredible!

maygirl · 22/02/2016 16:30

He sounds like a nightmare Katenka. Well done on the weigh loss!
EE SP day again,
B 2 poached eggs, heB toast, 35 g avocado (3.5syns) , salad leaves and tomatoes
Apple
L veg soup, heb2 4 ryvita, heA 4 cheese triangles
D will be leftover meat and lentil Bolognese and cauliflower mash again .
Exercise 40 mins walking .
Might have a quark and berry dessert if hungry tonight.
Milk syns in coffee 3

annatha · 22/02/2016 16:34

kat he sounds like an arse! A few women at my group chat through the whole thing, there isn't really a point to them staying. I was breastfeeding DS at group last week and they were openly discussing it about 3 metres away from me. Nothing bad but saying how "it's meant to be the done thing these days" and how it helps lose weight but they don't like the idea of it. I grinned manically at them and they stopped talking Grin.

katie syn free ice cream?? Yes please!

whyistherumgone · 22/02/2016 17:09

Thanks oriana :)

I'm getting irritated by him just by reading your posts kat I hope she can do something about him.

Also syn free ice cream? You might have just made my life!!!!

KatieT12 · 22/02/2016 17:12

The ice cream is lovely, give it a go!

AvaLeStrange · 22/02/2016 19:03

Thanks for the link Kate - will probably try that this weekend.

Kat - he sounds like a nightmare. You should send him along to my group - our consultant takes no sh*t whatsoever. I actually got a telling off last week for referring to myself as a 'heifer' GrinBlush!

why is keep plugging away - it may even be a 'hangover' from the previous week before you started and you may find you drop a good amount next week. A lot of people at my group have said they've experienced similar.

emwithme · 22/02/2016 19:08

Kat I think I'd have to say something. Out loud and probably inappropriate - but then again, I'm the absolute opposite of a shrinking violet.

I'm meant to be at college tonight but am at home with my cold instead. DH is still cooking though, he doesn't get away with it that easily.

Today's food has been a bit "here and there" - slept through alarm, so got up late, and then had to sit around at the empty flat for 3 hours waiting for a man from the Council to do a pre-leaving check (and tell us what we need to do before we hand back the keys in a fortnight).

Breakfast: Lol nope
Lunch: Left over steak (from Saturday night) and a punnet of cherry tomatoes!
Snack: Iceland meatballs, apple. Mugshot.
Dinner: Cajun chicken breast, rice, salad.

Hifi bars (HEB)

AvaLeStrange · 22/02/2016 19:09

Forgot today's menu:

B - Greek Muller light & a pear

L - Jacket potato with cheese (HexA) & beans, diet Pepsi (Spud u like - hopefully syn free-ish!)

D - chicken breast with Nandos seasoning, salad & jacket wedges (parboiled and sprayed with Frylight so syn free?). Also made a syn free dressing with fat free yoghurt, lemon juice & Nandos seasoning which was really nice.

Couple of syns from milk in coffee I guess, and going to have a fun size bag of Maltesers (5 syns) whilst watching the X-Files later.

Yeah, that would be me tbh 'Oh, congratulations Mr Big Mouth, I didn't realise you'd taken over as our new consultant!' Grin
