Today's plan:

B - fruit

L - sandwich with whatever I buy when I go shopping

D - Iceland lamb in minted gravy (free!) with potatoes and veg.

Latte out as my HexA, Syns will be chocolate Smile

Flossyfloof · 07/03/2016 08:02

Morning, I am on my second week and lost 1lb last week, having had one bad day ( went out for meal, knew I was going, set menu - ate it!).
This week I have followed the plan, not gone above syns, in fact mostly around 7-8 syns - get weighed tomorrow and doesn't look as if I have lost anything,
I am not really going to the loo, normally go every day or at least every t days.
Please can someone give me a bit of support? I know I can do it, I am finding the plan easy to follow but I am so disappointed!

BasinHaircut · 07/03/2016 08:14

flossy hang in there! You might get a surprise at weigh in!

Are you having a third speed food with all meals? I find it's really easy to slip out of the habit of eating enough speed.

longlivetheking · 07/03/2016 08:22

Try not to weigh in between Flossy. You should only worry about your group scales I think! I've banished mine to the back of the airing cupboard as I have no idea how accurate they are.
I bet you'll have a bigger loss than you think. Keep up the fab work Thanks

Flossyfloof · 07/03/2016 08:29

Thanks I am feeling a bit tearful to be honest, not like me at all, I am a toughie, I think it is because I have tried so hard. I feel as if I am spending hours preparing food. Yes, thank you, I am having lots of speed. Got in a bit of a muddle over a couple of things (really by assuming, ie that grapes are speed) but genuinely eating loads of extra veg. Have had some potatoes a couple of times. No bread. I am not familiar with the plan, have read a lot about it though.
I honestly think I am doing it right and am counting syns, had a hifi bar most says but no cheese and no chocolate, which are big downfalls for me as a rule.
Thank you xx

When I did SW years ago, I found all the pasta was stopping me going to the loo. It did effect the weight loss. I have a stomach condition which was diagnosed during this time. Drs advised reducing the amount of pasta. After eating pasta I did become bloated and noticed I couldn't go to the loo as much. I reduced how much I ate and only had whole wheat. Weight loss picked up then.

I am not saying don't have pasta. But is there something you eat a lot of that could be stopping you going to the loo.

Flossyfloof · 07/03/2016 08:35

Thanks Katenka. I haven't had any pasta, I love it but I think I would be tempted to have too much. Loads of fruit ( not usually a fruit eater), yesterday I had leek, courgette, tomatoes, carrot, a couple of small potatoes - honestly nothing untoward that I think might be stopping me. Lots of yoghurt for breakfast, oats, couscous ( half a packet) . I have a big appetite and am really trying to watch portion size too.
I have until tomorrow evening before weigh in!
Positive vibes for Flossys toilet habits please.

KittyOShea · 07/03/2016 08:43

I find eggs make it harder for me to use the loo if I have them more than 2 days in a row. Are you drinking plenty of water?

In the meantime coffee and prunes may help!

BasinHaircut · 07/03/2016 08:45

Are you eating enough floss?

Sounds silly but sometimes you need to just eat a bit more. If you have drastically reduced the amount you are eating then you might not need to poo as frequently. Your body may also go into starvation mode and hold on to fat.

Just theories though, I'm quite new to it all too!

Just keep on though, a pound off is still a pound off. Do that per week and this time next year you would be almost 4st lighter.

Flossyfloof · 07/03/2016 08:55

Thanks,no meant to say I did have eggs last week but not this week so far.
Last week when someone asked if they might not be eating enough the consultant was quite dismissive. Honestly I don't really think that is my problem. I am eating very differently but enough!
I have tried every bloody thing under the sun , with the exception of Atkins and Weightwatchers, I do feel a bit disheartened but really appreciate your help, thank you.

OrianaBanana · 07/03/2016 09:02

Eggs are apparently binding flossy as are bananas. Do you drink coffee? I found in my first week I was quite gassy Blush because of all the extra fruit and vegetables. Drink lots of water, if you are eating quite a bit of fibre it can help.

Today back on plan 100% with some SP days after a rocky weekend.

B - oat crisp (HExB1), skimmed milk (HExA), coffee
L - ham and speed salad, Pepsi max
D - smoked haddock in (half fat) creme fraiche and chive sauce (counting 1 syn for 2/3 tbsp cf, 2 for more milk and 2 for some butter) with broccoli, cabbage, carrots and broad beans
S - apples, satsumas, cherry tomatoes, probably hifis (HExB2), h/b egg if I'm hungry

Flossyfloof · 07/03/2016 09:04

I know I don't drink enough water, I will try, thank you.

Katenka · 07/03/2016 09:07

I drink about 3 litres a day. I find I am going more than ever. I get it by drinking free cordial with hot water. Not keen on cold drinks

Does your consultant take your food sheet?

BasinHaircut · 07/03/2016 09:12

Ohh kat hot squash! I do that too, especially at work as my office is freezing and I've been known to drink so much tea to keep warm that I end up being sick!

Katenka · 07/03/2016 09:24

basin it's lush isn't it?

Just got weighed. 2.5 off that's 16.5 in five weeks. Only 9lb to go until I am at the target I set myself for my holiday in May.

I will have another stone to lose after that but will worry about that when I get back.

Mummyme87 · 07/03/2016 09:36

Well done basin.
Flossy, don't be disheartened. You may be surprised tomorrow at weigh in.

Thank you everyone for your well wishes and congrats. 😀

KittyOShea · 07/03/2016 09:49

That's great katenka- well done!

Katenka · 07/03/2016 10:00

Oh god the annoying man is back. He has gone on about how he has put 5lb on and it's be totally worth it.

He is listing all the stuff he has eaten. Confused

BasinHaircut · 07/03/2016 10:00

I think you mean well done to katenka mummy, because I've had an awful week!

Well done katenka that's awesome!

I have another target after my weekend away too but I fear I'm going to have to reach the old target again first! Never mind, only a few pounds hopefully.

Kim82 · 07/03/2016 10:01

Morning all. Well done on the loss Katenka.

I've not been to group this morning but weighed myself at home. I have had a bad week and awful weekend as I was away at a wedding and my scales show a 7lb gain!!! I knew I would have gained some but 7lb in just one week?! That's bloody horrendous!

I'm fully back on plan from today and will be doing a week sp to try and get some of this weight back off. I feel so disappointed that I've done so much damage in just 7 days.

BasinHaircut · 07/03/2016 10:26

kim that happened to me in the week after a couple of takeaways and it nearly all came off a day later. Must have been bloating and water retention. Try weighing again in a couple of days.

SnookyWookyWooWoo · 07/03/2016 12:28

Hi all...new to thread...hoping to get some new ideas and share some of mine.

Wondering if anyone knows whether turkey drummers are free on sw if you take off the skin?

Thanks all

OrianaBanana · 07/03/2016 12:51

Turkey drumsticks, plain, not the breadcrumbed ones? Then yes, although opinion seems to be divided as to whether you have to take off the skin before cooking. Personally I don't bother. Smile

Katenka · 07/03/2016 12:55

Turkey drumsticks are without the skin. Personally I roast chicken and turkey with the skin on and take off before eating.

If I am cooking chicken legs in a marinade, I take the skin off so the meat gets flavoured and cover in foil.

Turkey drummers (the Bernard Matthews type with bread crumbs on) aren't free with or with the skin I think.

AvaLeStrange · 07/03/2016 13:04

Chin up Flossie. I only lost 1lb in my first week and was terrified of getting on the scales again as I didn't feel like I'd lost anything - came away with a 5lb loss and Slimmer of the Week.

I was winging it a bit to start with and tbh it is worth sitting down and really reading the booklets and having a good look at the website to familiarise yourself with the plan.

I also have a Tuesday evening weigh in so I take my main meal to work for lunch, and have a salad & yoghurt at about 5pm before group at half 7.

Also up my water intake after the weekend!
