Well done Welsh!

Had my weigh in tonight - lost 2lb. I'm happy with that.

Today's food has been:

B - porridge (HEA+B), summer fruits, coffee with 2 sugars
L - bowl of chilli
D - chicken, rice (flavoured with garlic, onion, red and yellow peppers, paprika and turmeric), kale and leeks, and mushrooms, courgettes, onion, chopped tomatoes.

I've treated myself to a creme egg ice cream lolly (11 syns and worth every single one). I can still have my options drink before bed too.

Husband and I both agree we feel so much better since I started SW. Much less groggy and tired, more clear headed.

stumblymonkey · 29/02/2016 22:05

Wow Welsh....that's loads!!! Well done!

I worked out I had 30 odd Syns on Sunday. Eeek! No more puddings for me again!

Been good today:

B: Porridge with banana
L: Apple, clementine, muller light
D: chilli and sweet potato wedges with green beans

Syns: Sugar for tea (3), Hi-fi (3)

KittyOShea · 29/02/2016 22:19

Wow Welsh. Well done. That's bloody amazing FlowersStarGrin

emwithme · 29/02/2016 22:28

Well done Kim Katenka Mutley and Welsh

Just plodding along sticking more or less to the plan here. Sundays are always a flexible syn day - I have fried eggs done in oil (because DH you can't do a decent fried egg in frylight), then a full roast with the potatoes done in with the meat, gravy made with meat juices and proper yorkshire puddings. It's worth it for my sanity. People keep going on about "gravy" made from blitzing an onion in an oxo cube, FFS, just have proper gravy and count the syns.

Today's food:

Brunch: Bacon, scrambled eggs, beans, mushrooms, tomato.
Snacks: Iceland meatballs, cottage cheese, grapefruit fucking thought it was an orange and peeled it mindlessly, was nice though, satsumas, apple, banana
Dinner: Cajun chicken breast, rice, roasted courgette/red onion/peppers done in garlic frylight. Apple, banana, satsumas.
HEA: Milk in coffee
HEB: Hifi bars.

I'm hoping to lose 1.5 lbs this week - this will get me to the wonderful weight of 14 st 3.5 lbs - aka 199.5 lbs. Been a good three and a half years since I was last under 200 lbs.

Kim82 · 29/02/2016 22:28

We'll done on the losses Welsh and Luna.

AvaLeStrange · 29/02/2016 22:44

Awesome news Luna & Welsh StarStar

em your gravy & grapefruit comments made me LOL!!!

Hay135 · 29/02/2016 22:57

Well done Luna and Welsh

I lost 1lb this week prob better than I deserve after sat night and got my 1 1/2 stone award so happy Grin

Focused now did an sp day today and meal planned sp days until Thursday but may try to extend to the full week if they go ok. Just need to think before I eat.

I set an interim target that i wanted to achieve for my birthday but I have 3 and 1/2 weeks left and 8lbs to go. I'm not giving up but also trying to brace myself for the fact it might not happen and make a more realistic target of getting there (and more hopefully) for holiday at the end of May.

cowboylover · 29/02/2016 23:11

I know exactly what you mean Em!
I admit I have always like gravy granules anyway and not ever made the 'proper' stuff but sometimes I hear the recipes people do and think is it really worth the hassle?! Probably not!

Ended the day with no Syns which is really usual for me and cut down on my portion sizes, drinking more water so I hope so a good result Thursday.

Our local leisure centre has been closed a few weeks after a flood so I am really looking forward to getting back in the pool and sauna on Wednesday evening.

EmilyK83 · 01/03/2016 08:00

Well done Hay!

Today's going to be full of Syns! Have an overnight stay at a gorgeous mansion house nearby, including dinner and breakfast (and even better, it's free as I'm reviewing it for my website!!), so it can't be helped.

But...I weigh this morning, so still plenty of time to pull it back afterwards!

Today will look like this:

B - nothing - never do on weigh in morning

L - salad and chicken

D - 3 course meal - no idea what the menu is yet.

Going to save my healthy extras and my syns for tonight to try and minimise damage...

Buttwing · 01/03/2016 08:24

I ended up going out for a last minute dinner last night. I didn't drink we went for Indian food, I was reasonably good but probably went a. It over Syns.

Today is secondary school allocation day and small wing got a place at the girls grammar we had everything crossed for. Pleased and proud does not even come close to how I'm feeling today!!!Smile
We are having a celebratory dinner of steak and chips (dds favourite) she's gutted as she's off ill today so can't gossip with her friends about who's going where. (Probably not a bad thing!)

I also became a granny last week (I'm 38Grin) as dsd became a mum for the first time. So having a very good week.

EmilyK83 · 01/03/2016 08:43

Ahhhh congrats Buttwing, amazing news on all counts! Sounds like the syns are thoroughly deserved Smile

BasinHaircut · 01/03/2016 08:44

Good week all round it seems! Well done everyone.

luna me and DH have said that same. We are finding it so much easier to get up in the mornings since doing slimming world. W

We are also doing 2 x exercise classes eac per week which must help but cutting out the shit really does make a massive difference to just how we generally feel. And we didn't eve think we ate that bad!

Today will be:
B - weetabix and skimmed milk
L - leftover syn free pulled pork and BBQ sauce, rice and SW coleslaw.
D - steak, stir fry and egg noodles
Sn - banana, satsuma and rice Krispy cake (3syns)

stumblymonkey · 01/03/2016 09:22

Aaah...buttwing...what a lovely week!!!

I weigh in this evening so will see what damage I did with my 957 Syns dinner on Sunday.

B: Porridge with banana
L: Leftover chilli with sweet potato wedges or jacket
D: Trinidadian beef hotpot from the SW recipe book with green beans.

Snacks of fruit and muller light

Syns: Hi-fi (3), sugar for tea (2-4)

EmilyK83 · 01/03/2016 11:18

Yayyyyyyy!!! 3lb off, so now overweight rather than obese, according to my BMI. So happy!

And got Slimmer Of The Week too, so won't need to buy fruit for a while!!

BasinHaircut · 01/03/2016 11:44

YAY Emily!!! That's amazing. To go down to overweight must feel great.

Shall we do a little straw poll of how much we (on this thread) have lost collectively in 2016? Just add your weight to the amount posted by the last person and we can add it all up. I'll start. I've lost 14lbs.

So that's a total of 14lbs. (Next person add your loss to this and post the new total) Smile

emwithme · 01/03/2016 12:09

Excellent week, Buttwing, Long may it continue.

Well done Emily I have another 10lbs to go to be overweight.

I have lost 11.5 lbs so far this year, this means the total is 25.5 lbs

Kim82 · 01/03/2016 12:15

We'll done Emily and what a lovely week Buttwing.

Emily's post made me check my BMI and I have also dropped down into the overweight bracket instead of obese. Yay!

I've lost 21lb so far this year which means the total is 46.5lbs

FannyGlum · 01/03/2016 12:44

Well done on the losses, Emily, luna and Welsh!

I need some ideas for breakfast. Pre-slimming world I always had cereal, usually all bran or porridge. I have successfully done overnight oats, but I don't like them much, I couldn't stomach them this morning.

I also drink lots of tea, so would prefer to keep my HexA milk for that. Added to that I don't have very long in the mounting as I have to get myself, a 6 year old and a 3 yr old ready and out of the house by 7.30am!

Any ideas?

Hay135 · 01/03/2016 13:22

Well done losers!

Just checke my BMI and not only am I no longer classed as obese it's 27!! So not to far in the over weight bracket so happy 😊
Quick breakfasts I have alpen bars or hi fi bars and fruit.
HEB of toast with quark and marmite or beans
I have just started making my porridge or weetabix with half water and half milk and add strawberries or blueberries and it actually tasted ok! I have heard people making it with just water but I haven't been brave enough to try it Blush

Carriemac · 01/03/2016 16:34

7 lbs off, hit a bit of a plateau but am encouraged by this thread to really try for march

longlivetheking · 01/03/2016 16:40

2 off so only a half off after last week's gain but at least it's a loss Grin

Katenka · 01/03/2016 20:04

Well done everyone.

I caved and had some of ds birthday cake yesterday. Was delicious. But then I felt sick. Seem to not be able to tolerate very sweet food recently.

Today has been

L - squash, chicken and cheese

D - squash, chicken and mange tout.

I really need to go shopping Shock

Katenka · 01/03/2016 20:05

I have lost 14lb so that's 60.5lbs

Kim82 · 01/03/2016 20:16

I've had takeaway for tea tonight and have eaten nothing but shite all day. Tomorrow will be different...

lunatrick · 01/03/2016 21:24

It's a great feeling isn't it Basin? I'm halfway through my uni course and had been blaming my age for struggling to understand things as quick as the other students (who are mostly nearly half my age), but I'm actually finding it easier to concentrate now. We never ate too badly before, always plenty of veg, but too many puddings and tubs of Ben and Jerrys (which I saw on offer in Tesco earlier and managed to walk away from)

I thought I'd give quark a go today, seeing as so many others use it. Eurgh, ruined a decent jacket potato. I'm also tempted to try cottage cheese because it looks tempting, especially with all the different flavours. I've tried it so many times over the years, wanting to like it, but I think it's just not going to happen.

Todays food:

B - porridge and summer fruit
L - omelette (with courgettes, onion, mushrooms, bacon) and loads of salad
D - jacket potato, salmon and roasted med veg and tinned toms

Long day at college tomorrow, having to avoid those vending machines again - going to take a lot of willpower because it's my 2 least favourite subjects tomorrow.
