Hi everyone,
What a brilliant thread to click on after my post-Xmas weigh in. I am feeling properly inspired by all your lovely stories and the pictures - amazing losses and well done to all!

In 10 months I have lost 17lb, but dropped 2, sometimes 3, dress sizes. I want the next 1.5 stone to disappear a bit quicker please so zero wine during the week for me. That's my plan :)

A few pounds have been gained during Dec due to work strife and general life rubbish affecting planning. But I am putting it all behind me and starting the NY with new resolve. About to have a full-on few days with friends staying and celebrating various birthdays I am managing OK with the food side.. it's just the wine... and the gin... and the prosecco Grin Wine

Today's back-on-track menu:
B: SW brekkie
L: Turkey curry (from the magazine, tasted better for doubling up the spices)
D: Some kind of hash using the last of the sprouts, carrots, ham and possibly an egg on top.

Heyheyheygoodbye · 30/12/2015 12:52

Blaaaaargh weigh-in tonight. I've been a 🐷 plus it's the first Star Week I've had since joining (thanks, wildly irregular cycle) so I'm anticipating at least half a stone on. Just NYE to get through though and then a clean slate moving forward Smile

PinkSmiles · 30/12/2015 16:24

100% on plan but the kids of testing my will power to the max. And the torrential rain is screwing up the plan to go out to escape the house full of Christmas treats. CakeBiscuitWine

overitalready · 30/12/2015 17:33

B - coffee

L - mugshot, baybel, banana, Apple, and a pear

D - Finally breaking my Diet Coke chicken virginity with mash and sugar snap peas

S - Cadbury snack

corshamcake · 30/12/2015 17:34

I have just enrolled today with Slimming World [yes, I know, I must be made just before the New Year celebrations!] but find it a bit confusing after the 'green' and 'red' days they had years ago. I understood that concept.

Does anyone have any tips for me to lose fast - without fruit or sugar?

corshamcake · 30/12/2015 17:36

'mad' not 'made'

Buttwing · 30/12/2015 17:55

Hello to all the new peopleSmile

I've just weighed and I put on 5lb which is fine and probably a bit less than I thought! Back on plan 100% now.

B-coffee

L-baked potato and beans

D- spag Bol with loads of veg in

I'm clearing out my wardrobes tonight to stop me picking!

blondiep14 · 30/12/2015 18:07

I need rid of all this food!! Too much temptation everywhere I look Sad

ateacupofgin · 30/12/2015 18:13

Hi Corsham no time like the present to sign up! I did this year the day before my birthday which is at the start if a 6 week long period of fdmuly birthdays ... Then Easter ... Fridges thought I was bonkers but it was the best decision for me.

SP is like the old red days, but tbh if get your head around EE. Plate 1/3 speed food with everything and have speed foods such as cucumber or cherry toms with any 'free' snacks you might have.

I am not SF but don't keep much fruit in the house as ds1 has complex allergies, but found it is easy to do without. I have FF yoghurt with cinnamon instead of mullers & try to snack on savoury quark dips and crudités.

There are folk much more knowledgeable than me on here who I am sure can advise better!

ateacupofgin · 30/12/2015 18:15

Family... And friends... Bloody autocorrect!

corshamcake · 30/12/2015 18:21

Hi Ateacupofgin, thank you for your advice. (Gin is my tipple too but with slimline tonic of course which I actually prefer.)

Do I have to choose which concept for each day (like 'green' or 'red' in the past or can I mix and match? (I love all protein but also jacket potatoes with fat-free yoghurt and/or baked beans.) Can I mix and match protein with jackets?

corshamcake · 30/12/2015 18:22

Hi Buttwing, thanks for the welcome! (How do you insert an emoticon, please?)

PinkSmiles · 30/12/2015 18:29

Today has been:

B: fruit salad (half an apple, 2 plums, blueberries, satsuma) with quark.

L: Slimming world sweet potato curry with cauliflower 'rice'

D: bolognese with 'courgetti'

Was not impressed with courgetti and don't think I'll be doing that one again. I've not had any snacks today Shock and going out for a walk when the kids are in bed for some Christmas damage limitation, and avoiding the wine, cheeses and chocolates!!! Hmm

PinkSmiles · 30/12/2015 18:30

Corshamcake - on the app I use on the iPad, there is an emoticons button just above the keypad. Hope that helps? Xx

overitalready · 30/12/2015 18:36

Diet Coke chicken = way overrated

KittyOShea · 30/12/2015 18:39

Weigh in at 730 so will see how I go.

B- porridge, fruit, yoghurt, cinnamon
L- scrambled eggs with bacon and mushrooms
D- leftover chilli with rice and glass of wine (will be after weigh in so 9 if I stay to group- am always ravenous!)

Syns- 2 sugar, 2 milk, 3 hi fi, 5 glass of wine.

I weighed myself earlier (I know I shouldn't) and seems to be a maintain which I'd be delighted with. Will be interesting to see if my scales are right).

This week coming in will be tougher for me as am out for a meal with DH tomorrow for new year in my favourite restaurant, then out on big night out with friends on Saturday.

Welcome to all the new people Smile

TwoTonTessie · 30/12/2015 18:59

Evening all Smile
I am back on plan and have lost 2lb of my 5lb gain so far. I felt a bit better after hearing about a whopping 11lb gain in a week Shock

PinkSmiles · 30/12/2015 19:01

Wow!! 11lb gain in a week is impressive! Grin

Heyheyheygoodbye · 30/12/2015 20:02

You guys...I put on 9 pounds.

NINE!!! POUNDS!!!

That's in ten days rather than a week, and it is Star Week, and I had a whopping 4.5lb loss last weigh in...but still! Christ almighty.

Well, there's a wake-up for me. Onwards and downwards!

Wibblewobble100 · 30/12/2015 20:17

11lb on... That's impressive.
I have 1.5 lb on. Have to say I'm massively relieved. I can get that off next week😄
What are star weeks? A couple of people have mentioned them and I've not heard the phrase before.

blondiep14 · 30/12/2015 20:21

HeyHey, I'm impressed Grin

I'm supposed to be back on track, but fell in to some fecking mince pies earlier. Careless eh?!

Need to clear out all of the excess goodies asap

Heyheyheygoodbye · 30/12/2015 20:22

Wibble it's an annoying twee phrase for being on your period. Despite knowing it is annoying and twee I still find myself using it!

KittyOShea · 30/12/2015 20:48

2lbs off Blush and got my 3 stone award Grin

This week will be harder with 2 nights out and quitting smoking...

TheImprobableGirl · 30/12/2015 20:48

I'm starting in the new year! I used to be a svelte 8st, however 2 children, 5 years and lots of Wine later I am 13st 8lbs according to my not-very-nice scales this morning! I am 5ft 2 so this sits quite heavily! Aiming to lose 3.5/4st overall- to get back somewhere just under 10st and maintain between 9-10st

Feeling really motivated and have a group lined up to start next weds! Are there any sign up offers or anything? I'd prefer to pay in advance if it's any cheaper as well, any tips?

Last time I did sw (8 years ago!!) I had red days and green days but I hear it's all about speed now! Also how much is it to buy the books etc with up to date free food in etc

KittyOShea · 30/12/2015 21:03

Hi improbable.

I was very similar to you (without the excuse of babies was just food and wine on my part)

I am 5 foot 2 and my starting weight was 13 stone. I'm now 9 stone 13 and a half in less than 6 months.

Not sure about offers at the minute but there seems to be one in bella pretty frequently.

You'll get all the books about the plan when you start up. Takes a week or two to get your head around it but pretty easy after that. I haven't bought any of the SW recipe books but there's lots of recipes on the website and people share theirs at group and on here.

Good luck!
