Hi Roller, for SP meals I like Aunt Bessies frozen carrot and swede, 0.5 syns per 100g, quick to microwave a portion for me when the rest of family having carbs. Also SW chips with celeriac, cooked alongside the family's potato ones. I also have a spirilizer and make courgette or butternutsquetti if family having spaghetti. Cauli rice and cauli or celariac mash. All served with meat/fish or pulses for the P and usual side dish of speed veg/salad too. quark with grapenuts cereal and fruit for breakfast or a pudding if not already had my HeBs . Eggs and veg or porridge and fruit usually for breakfast. Also 10.5Ibs in ~8 weeks is good weight loss when you're near target! You are doing better than me Envy

Oh buggeryfuck, I've just had "lunch" starter of milky bar followed by main course of half a pack of biscuitsSad

I'm just soooo tired I've no idea what's up with dc4 but he's just not sleeping, he got up at 2.30 this morning and fell back to sleep at 6, 45 mins before I had to be up to get the others ready for school.

Oh well need to pull myself together and get back with it don't want my moment of weakness to ruin the day/week.

Hi, I hope it's okay if I join in! I am hoping to start doing SW from home next week. I'm spending this week learning about how it all works, slowly getting there and I have started doing a SW friendly meal plan so I can get everything I need for my next food shop.

I have a couple of questions if you ladies don't mind.

First of all, if something is 'syn free' does that mean you can eat as much of it as you like in one day? So like hypothetically speaking you could eat four Muller lights in one day? Not that I would of course!

Secondly do 'speed foods' count if they're in something, like grated carrot and chopped onion in a bolognese or chilli? I struggle to eat a lot of veg as a side and I'm not a fan of salad, but if I hide it in certain dishes I don't notice.

Annnnd finally, is pasta syn free? Does it matter if it's whole grain or not? What about rice?

I'm hoping to get an optimising good book off eBay which should help me out a lot. Looking forward to starting my journey, it seems doable even for fussy eaters like meGrin

Hi Spud. Yes free food can be eaten freely and as much as you want. Cooked speed vegetables in food still count. Grated carrot is actually a great way of stretching pasta sauces and curries. Haven't done it for a while - must remember that. Dried pasta is free, rice is free. I choose to measure mine as I'm a poor judge of portion size. Doesn't need to be wholegrain unless that's what you want.

BrewBrew butt I feel your pain. We're in the throes of another leap here. Annoyingly it's me that can't get back to sleep after a feed. So frustrating! Biscuit and muffin in booby group this morning. Eek!

B: overnight oats HeB with natural yogurt and Black Forest fruits, satsuma
S: mini muffin and triple chic cookie (10 Syns)
L: Quorn sausages, boiled potatoes and broccoli
T: leftover free creamy pasta bake
D: homity pie made with swede instead of potatoes HeA

Thank you Pisghetti, I think I'm getting the hang of it all now. Dp is up for it as well (although he was a bitHmm when I tools him he'd have to cut the fat off his bacon), so hopefully we can support each other.

Hi Spud and welcome.

Pasta and rice are free. The main thing is that one third of your meal is speed food and that can help avoid too many carbs as you're filling up with speed.

Back on plan today.

B- berries and yoghurt
L- Ryvita (hexb) tinned salmon and mayo (1/2 syn Mayo) and cucumber, oranges, yoghurt
D- chicken and veg risotto

Syns- 1/2 mayo, 2 sugar in tea (plus hexa used for milk in tea) and hi fi (3). Will prob have another hi fi later.

Planning on SP days tomorrow and weds to try to make up for weekend- weigh day on weds. Trying to lose another 1/2 stone for Christmas.

Pisghetti · 17/11/2015 08:55

May your breakfast sounds nice! Do you bake the apples before or after adding the raisins? The one time I've tried it, the raisins dried out completely and were like little bullets. I was lucky to get out of that with my teeth intact Blush

B: overnight oats HeB made with cherry yogurt and Black Forest fruits
L: leftover SW homity pie HeA with spinach and mushrooms dry fried with garlic and Linda M sausages
D: not sure yet - mum's cooking. She's being helpful and not serving cheese in pastry while I'm on SW Smile

Hi, is it ok if I join? (Waves at pis)

In June/July I managed to lose half a stone which gave me motivation to lose weight properly. Joined slimming world towards the end of July and have lost another 2st 6.5lb in the 16 weeks I've been there. Obviously I'm thrilled, I'm down 3 dress sizes and the thinnest I've ever been as an adult. However I've got at least another stone and a half to go to get me into a healthy BMI, I know I can do it, but some extra support and ideas would be great because I think it's going to take a while!
