Hi cowboy. I have the egg muffins warm- 40 seconds in the microwave reheats them nicely. I usually do bacon mushroom and onion ones and tomato and basil. Eating some now as we speak!

ZylaB · 08/12/2015 08:49

Hi! Egg questions :)

Can I have a recipe for the egg muffins please? And do they freeze? I'm thinking they may go down well for the 10 month old as well as me :)

Scrambled eggs...I used to make lovely scrambled eggs, wi lots of butter! What are you guys putting in them, just milk?

Pisghetti · 08/12/2015 08:59

I just use eggs and season them well. They're not as nice as lovely buttery eggs but needs must... I tried whisking quark in. It gave them a better texture I think. I usually have cheese on top as a healthy extra so that makes up for a lot Smile

I make egg muffins by frying the veg I want in them in fry light, dividing them into a silicone muffin tray then pouring over beaten eggs (I'd use 8 for six muffins) - interested to see what others do and good call on using them for the baby! Know what we're having for breakfast now....

B - egg muffins with onions, mushrooms, red peppers and spinach on the side
S - 2 x hifi bars HeB, advent calendar choc 2 Syns
L - roasted asparagus and leek pasta 1 Syn
S - yogurt and satay mad
D - tarka dahl with cauliflower rice

Pisghetti · 08/12/2015 09:00

Err satsumas - I like satay but wouldn't say I'm mad for it.

ZylaB · 08/12/2015 09:23

Oh..today's food..

B...2x hifi light bars (hexb)
L...mixed veg soup and fruit
S...lemon and poppy seed cake from graze box (4 syns)
D...jacket potatoes, salad and cheese, ham and cheese (hexa) omelette.

I mentioned the graze light box at group yesterday and that some of the boxes are on the syns online and others aren't, but used 20cals = 1 syn, she said that wasn't official and shouldn't be using it. Hmm :( I think if anything doing that would overestimate the syns because it doesn't take into account any calories coming from free food does it?

What are you cooking the egg muffins on pis? And do they freeze? I've got a normal muffin tin, hoping spraying it with fry light would work.

blondiep14 · 08/12/2015 10:17

3 off!!

Pisghetti · 08/12/2015 10:20

I haven't tried freezing them, they'd keep for a couple of days in the fridge though. I cook them in the oven for about 20 mins on 180C.

20 calories per Syn is a perfectly good calculation. I doubt the company line is to encourage it as it means anyone can work it out without paying membership fees Wink

Pisghetti · 08/12/2015 10:21

Make that 25 minutes - not quite set yet....

OrianaBanana · 08/12/2015 12:53

I use the SW quiche recipe as I can get the 'cheese' hit from cottage cheese without the calories. Apparently you can't freeze them but I can eat 4 a day quite easily Smile

Question - if I'm doing an SP day is it bad form to eat sushi (5syns) because the rice is part of the fee food allowance - ?

OrianaBanana · 08/12/2015 13:40

B - Satsuma, coffee (with HExA milk all day)
L - sushi (2), diet cola, pear
D - bolognese with plenty of speed veg
S - apple, caramel hi fi (HExB), Roses sweets x 2 (5), tea

Can't decide whether to make this an SP day but I suspect I've buggered it up with the sushi so I think I won't, I'll have pasta with the bolognese sauce and skip the extra HExB.

KittyOShea · 08/12/2015 14:11

Egg muffins-
Fry light the muffin tray. I fry bacon pieces and put them with mushroom and onion in the muffin tray. Put tomato and fresh basil in the other half.
Beat6 eggs with 2 tbsp milk and salt and pepper. Pour over the top. Oven at 180 for around 15 mins. Makes 10 small ones.

They usually keep a couple of days in fridge. Haven't tried freezing them.

KittyOShea · 08/12/2015 14:12

Well done blondie Smile

maygirl · 08/12/2015 18:27

Oh and one taster choc in hotel chocolate while Xmas shopping. Was tiny, but worth it! will allocate 3 syns .

maygirl · 08/12/2015 18:45

Not sure about the sushi Oriana, guess you'd need the old red day syn value! Or try working out the syns as if contains no free food on the calculator?!

cowboylover · 08/12/2015 19:17

Well done Blondie!

That's great they warm up so quick so would be ideal for me in the morning, I'm always running around like a headless chicken so if I can't get it ready in under a min and eat in the car I don't usually have time!
