Well i'm thoroughly pissed off Sad I maintained. Despite being ill all day and not having eaten anything! I do have af so was expecting a small loss, but was not expecting to maintain.

Well done for all the losses! Especially for wombat-slimmer of the month, whoop!

MisForMumNotMaid · 27/11/2014 20:42

I've got to admit I kind of embarrassingly enjoy the stickers and certificates. I wonder if I should put myself a reward chart on the wall alongside the DC's?

Wombat another fab big leap forwards in weight loss.

Chipping you're, as always, full of thought out wise words. I do want to live. I'm feeling more confident with myself now and I've allowed my weight to be a barrier to too many things in life. I need to strike the balance but ensure that I enjoy the frankly rare moments out too.

We've decided to decorate the house for Christmas on Sunday as DH is working late most of next week and most of the houses round us are well on the way to being decorated. I think i'll make a small bowl of mulled wine without sugar and a vat of mulled black current juice for us and the DC to enjoy warm for when the wine evaporates without a trace.

Worryingwombat · 27/11/2014 21:04

Yes I have turned in to a child againmand love sticking the shiny stickers on my book!! :)

Aww well done wombat!! Slimmer of the month, I'm impressed Smile. You are flying it, keep up the great work! You must be on a high.

misfor a loss is a loss so be proud of losing weight this week.

fruitloop period week doesn't count Grin. Well it certainly won't for me! You didn't gain, so happy days! If I can maintain when bloated and craving carbs i will be ecstatic lol

MisForMumNotMaid · 27/11/2014 22:46

Fuitloops your body is saving all the loss for slimmer of the week next week. Loss or maintain previous week needed. If you've stuck to it, it will show on the scales at some point soon - unfortunately bodies just doesn't realise that you're meant to be at your weeks lowest at what ever time weigh in is on a Thursday. A glass of water can weigh a pound so it shows how a little retention can make a huge difference on the scales.

Worryingwombat · 27/11/2014 23:39

Fruit loop - sorry u have been unwell today our body's do retain a lot of fluid when we are ill!
And a maintain is good!! You just continue on this next week and I bet the weight drops off by next thus!! X

CoconutAmericano · 29/11/2014 14:39

Hope you're enjoying York wombat. I admire how prepared you are for the trip!

I discovered a nice syn free hummus, thought it might be handy as a lunch idea. It's basically a tin of chickpeas, a large clove of garlic, some lemon juice, three large roasted red peppers (i used jarred ones) some chilli if you fancy it for a kick and some seasoning. Whizz it up. Delicious! I added some water but i needn't have. I made pasta, stirred through the hummus and also some chopped smoked salmon and red onion. So tasty. I wouldnt eat it if I were meeting someone with all the garlic and red onion but if you are staying home it is yum Smile

CoconutAmericano · 01/12/2014 12:47

Omg Aldi cup shots are revolting. The chicken is tasteless and the spicy sweet and sour smells like vomit. I havent tried the mug shotz yet because I don't usually eat this sort of thing but I said i would try thrm since they're syn free. My god, awful stuff! Maybe the mug shot are better?

CoconutAmericano · 01/12/2014 12:55

Im laughing here because despite my having to hold my breath eating that soup cause it smelled so awful i still ate the feckin thing!! I can honestly say it was the worst thing i have ever eaten Shock

Worryingwombat · 01/12/2014 15:00

Don't say that coconut i have just bought some of them today!!!! Lol

I have well and truly fallen off the wagon Sad After 4 days of feeling poorly, and two days of eating quality street and haribo...I fear the wagon has charged ahead and I don't know how to get back on it. This always happens, I do so well for two weeks, then I have a blip and a blip turns into the end of my diet.

I can't attend my next two groups because it is my DH's Birthday so we're going out for a meal with his parents, and then next week is my work xmas party- so in my head this seems to mean I can eat what I want because I won't know about it for another two weeks?!

WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME?!!!

I am a mess.

What do I do?! I even got a massive tub of quality street on Saturday Sad I am still ill too (sickness bug has turned into a cold!), so getting back into the diet now is going to be near on impossible.

I am a failure at diets.

tabulahrasa · 01/12/2014 15:23

Jump back on the wagon...ignore what you've done in the past few days and just do what you were doing before you fell off.

Are there any meetings near you on other days of the week? You can go to those instead of yours if that would help.

dexter73 · 01/12/2014 16:45

I agree with tabulahrasa - get back on plan and go to another meeting. Eating chocolate and sweets won't make your cold any better so give the tub of Quality Street away!

oneowlgirl · 01/12/2014 17:21

The analogy my consultant uses for when we've had a bad day is that if you dropped your phone on the floor, you'd pick it up & check it's ok, not smash it to pieces - so that's what you need to do. Back on plan & find another group to go to for the next couple of weeks (& don't feel bad - just let it go!)

MisForMumNotMaid · 01/12/2014 17:25

Fruitloops I try not to think of it to much as a diet. Its more a way of eating for the majority of the time. Theres not an end date to eating this way, just a few more syns potentially. By not having on and off the diet it helps me relieve the pressure.

What have you got in thats easy? Jacket potatos with beans/ pasta bolognese/ Omlettes/ cans of soup - lots are healthy b's (if you've not got any in the freezer).

So the next few weeks you've got some good stuff going on Xmas Envy its up to you whether you enjoy your nights out and roughly maintain or throw in the towel between times and gain back any you've lost in the previous few weeks.

What motivated you to start SW? What do you want to weigh at
Easter, next Summer Holidays, Next Christmas? These are times to aim for, excepting you'll still be living in between.

In my early days I wanted big loses every week. Now I'm looking at the longer game and living. I'm learning to enjoy the odd slice of birthday cake on peoples birthdays and glass of something to go with it. I'm realising that 2lb loss on a 100% on plan week is good and actually if I plan in all the birthdays and commitments I can aim for and achieve a stone between Summer/ Christmas then Christmas/ Easter then the last bit Easter to May bank holiday I'll get to my target and not be forever avoiding living and feeling guilty for having any pleasure in food.

Stop beating yourself up, you're the only one who suffers through it. Oh and find another group to pop in and get weighed at even if you don't stay. Being weighed draws a line under anything bad and allows you to move on. You can find an alternative group by typing your postcode into the slimming world website.

Lecture over.

CoconutAmericano · 01/12/2014 17:57

Oh wombat let me know how you get on with the cup shots! Grin

fruitloop misformum is right. Don't think of this as a diet. Diets are doomed to fail. This is a lifestyle change (most of the time). We will always have our "purple days". Just find that bloody wagon and climb back onto it girl!! In fact I think it's stopped at a red light so off ya go!
Sure this weekend i had half a large dominos pizza (albeit a thin crust with light mozzerrella) two chicken wings and half a garlic pizza bread Blush went to toen i did Shock Cant even imagine the syn vslue of that lot lol but sure i found my wagon the next day and got back on. Sometimes you need a blow out. If you're still not feeling well maybe you need comfort food. Spag bol, dirty big curry, sw chips? Big mac in a bowl? Just a few ideas.. Believe me i will be coming on here in the next week or two feeling like quitting and eating crappola. We are all in the same boat x

tabulahrasa · 01/12/2014 18:03

"I try not to think of it to much as a diet. Its more a way of eating for the majority of the time. Theres not an end date to eating this way, just a few more syns potentially. By not having on and off the diet it helps me relieve the pressure."

Yep, don't think of it as a diet you're doing until x.

If you've had a few days of eating stuff you know isn't great for you, you just balance it out a bit (obviously you can't just eat salad or nothing and carry on losing weight, lol) work in better stuff and cut out the chocolate to an ok level again.

I've been doing it just over a year, I've absolutely had days where I've had something on that I know I can't make up the syns for, I've had Christmas where yes mostly I'm on track, but I refuse to have slimming world versions of things like mince pies and I've been on holiday and eaten out nearly every day.

So yes I've had times where overall I haven't lost for a few weeks because I'm losing a gain, but I've still lost 6 stones in that year.

If you concentrate too hard on the short term it's easy to go - I've mucked up, stuff it, if you go easier on yourself and just accept that sometimes you won't eat right it's easier to get back on track.

demoska1 · 02/12/2014 05:49

I am new to MN. I had a fantastic October and kept to plan. I lost 10lb. Had a wobble the beginning of November and totally fell off the plan sad
I'm back to where I started....but yesterday I pulled my socks up and started again. I need to lose 2 stone. Losing weight will help me medically as I have arthritis and am recovering from emergency spinal surgery....long story
Either way..I would also like some support and motivation from folk doing the plan with out attending a group.

CoconutAmericano · 02/12/2014 15:57

Hi demoska and welcome aboard Smile i lost 2 1/2 stone last year, put about a stone back on, I'm trying to nip it in the bud before i put the whole lot back on, so you're not alone having lost and then gained! It feels awful when you're clothes start getting tight on you again, really horrible Sad. Im hoping to glide into my "skinny" skinny jeans by Christmas but sure, we'll see Grin

I am gutted. I wasted 4 1/2 syns today on one tiny packet of m & s count on us crisps today. I really thought they would be only 1 or 2 syns since the pkt is small and they're baked but noooooo, 4 and 1/2 feckin syns!! So not worth it Sad. Ah well, onwards and upwards.

How is everyone?

CoconutAmericano · 02/12/2014 15:58
