gymboywalton love the user name, i'm a year on from where you are. I joined mid May last year and I'm now around 5 stone down (a bit of post holiday fluctuation). I hit 25 BMI in Feb/ March.

I'm 41 in a few weeks and have spent most of my adult life in size 16-20's.

What amazes me still about slimming world is I'm eating more than I ever have. I'm sat typing nibbling on an individuall wrapped lindt excellence chocolate and seasalt square, something I eat most days and I don't feel guilty. I have every confidence the few pounds up I am from last weeks indulgences will be gone next week. I have every confidence I can eat out for my birthday/ fathers day enjoy myself and still wear my nice new to me clothes.

Who knows whats on the road ahead but 43 is not too old to change or discover a new you. One day at a time starts now.

FrancesNiadova · 03/06/2015 07:42

Hi Wombat, I'm just popping in to see how you're doing, (I posted way back on page 1). You look wonderful! The sw group I go to are doing a bag up your old big clothes for cancer research, you could stick your dress in there if your group are doing it.
Keep going til you reach your BMI, you'll feel so much better for it. Good luck, keep going, you're looking amazing! Star

lugo40 · 03/06/2015 09:03

Wow I'm so glad I stumbled accross this group!!!! All your stories are really inspiring and your photos and achievements are incredible. I joined on Saturday with my husband, he has 2 stone to lose so is just doing it to support me really and I weigh in at 19 4 so my goal is 11 stone which puts me in the overweight BMi group but I would be able to have Ivf at least.

I'm so worried it's not going to work :-( any tips? Have you lost every week?

Thank you for sharing your story

Lucy x

gymboywalton · 03/06/2015 21:32

thank you for the welcome-i have joined slimming world today! will let you know how i get on

lugo40 · 06/06/2015 14:06

5 1/2 pounds off in my first week. 101 1/2 to go. A good step in the right direction though

MisForMumNotMaid · 08/06/2015 13:59

Lugo great first loss, congratulations. Hopefully this week puts you to under 100lb to go. Its all psychological stuff and double figures will no doubt feel more achievable.

gymboy its that first step thats the hardest - just getting to group. Well done for signing up. Now just one step at a time and don't get beaten by those inevitable off plan meals we all have. Just pick yourself up and carry on. No punishment or self loathing allowed - thats how diets fail.

I've had some amazing food in france over the weekend and I was shocked to only be 2lb up on my home scales so back onplan today, enjoying the sunshine and a lovely long walk to school/ nursery and home.

I'm making a big batch of elderflower and rhubarb jam dread to think how high the syns would be considering i tipped in an entire bag of sugar for the flowers and rhubarb to steep in.

PlayingHouse · 08/06/2015 21:26

Really appreciate your support on Instagram Thanks

First WI tonight - 8lb off! Shock Grin

MisForMumNotMaid · 11/06/2015 13:32

8lb off, fab start playinghouse. Took me four weeks to get to 8lb.

I'm delighted to have a maintain this week. Its been three weeks since my last official weigh in. In that time I've been on a cruise, been to Euro disney and had several meals out. Think this is one I got away with. Now I just need to try and not get complacent.

wombat i found you on Instagram and clicked follow. I must confess I haven't really worked out how instagram works yet though.

PlayingHouse · 11/06/2015 13:57

Thanks mis Smile . I've sent you a PM with my Instagram name - although I've hardly posted any pictures yet.

It's great for seeing what everyone else is eating and getting inspiration.

I keep scoffing my food before I remember to take a photo Blush

Fantastic, that's an amazing loss, how you have changed your life around. Well done you

MisForMumNotMaid · 21/06/2015 20:02

I feel quite green eyed at our 6 stone certificate, thats my ultimate goal. I've not weighed in this week. I hit 41 this week, my Dniece and Dnephew turned 8 and of course today was fathers day. Many many cakes have been consumed and today we had a very tasty five course curry with flowing wine.

Its been a fab week but time to reign things back in. I'm going to try to avoid the scales and accept the ups and downs a little more. I know
I can be comfortably in target again by next proper weigh in.

I need to get back into target and then get to the bottom end of it in the next six weeks. In September I'll be back to being a paid weight loss member to hit that last stone and join you at the six stone certificate Smile

Congratulations. You've worked hard for it and deserve it.

Worryingwombat · 27/06/2015 20:01

Thanks so much skinny and mis Grin

I had a maintain this week Hmm but grumpy about it! But just need to get back to the gym and get my ass moving

Having a tough time as waiting for some hospital tests for my husband and it is putting a lot of stress on us at the moment Confused that is not helping me as food is still my comfort!! (Always a fatty me!!Grin)

Hi wombat!!!!

Focus on the dress........Grin

calzone · 28/06/2015 22:23

I need to tell you my white sauce recipe.
I could not do a good one and yoghurt and eggs just doesn't do it for me.

Basically, boil a cauliflower in stock til soft. Fry some garlic in fry light and blitz together with some of the stock til you get the proper consistency. That is it!!!

You then have a jug of hot garlicky white sauce which you can use for Lasagne, Macaroni Cheese.......Tis amazing!!!!

lugo40 · 29/06/2015 07:56

I've now lost 13 In 4 weeks. I'm pleased but still have about 93 to go in order to qualify for Ivf :-( struggling to be positive

Heartgirl · 29/06/2015 08:36

Hi wombat and all you inspiring people on this thread. Over the last couple of days I've read the whole thing (after joining SW last week) and I've had so much encouragement and inspiration from you all. I have five stones to lose. After developing a heart arrhythmia last August I stopped exercising (my brother died when exercising in 2011 and I have the same issue) and I put on the two stone I lost four years ago. Still have had my heart fixed now by open heart surgery on 2nd March and now recovering. However I've never done well with diets. I get to the midpoint, feel better and then drift. I'm 53, it's my silver wedding in September and is love to get down to my wedding weight (10st11) - not by Sept obviously! I've never tried SW before but I have to say I love the plan so far and I'm picking up loads of tips. It's just hard to believe I'll get there because I never have. Hope you don't mind me joining at this late stage! PS wombat you look amazing and I would keep that beautiful dress for posterity.

Worryingwombat · 29/06/2015 23:59

Thanks calzone!! I will keep focused!!

Heartgirl I have cried reading your story then!! You have been through so much! I promise you will love Sw the food is amazing Grin totally here for any support you might need! Smile

Well 1 lb off for me today

After taking in a lot of advice from people I think I am limiting my Syns to much I have only been having 1 or 2 per day Shock

Need a rethink!

This week I aim for changing up my meals more

Checking portion sizes

And having my Syns!

Let's see if that wakes my body up!! Grin

OP posts:
MisForMumNotMaid · 02/07/2015 22:00

Another 1lb down is great.

Just a thought but are you effected by the heat? I know I bloat a little/ retain water when its hot. My sis visibly swells (puffy ankles etc) it throws the scales. Plus its hard to keep fluid levels up in this weather.

1-2 syns sounds a lot like a strict diet rather than living and eating the plan.

I started weighing what is a portion (rice/ pasta packet side) to see how it compared to what i ate and was quite surprised. I carried on cooking the same amount (double/ trebble portions) but just plated up 2/3 with the option to go back for more if I still fancied it. Most of the time i didn't.

Weight loss eveness is hilarious. I quickly lost my bust and dropped to a 32 chest/ now debating if it should be 30. My hips were still 44. I was officially a weable. That made me a 10/12 top initially with flabby arms and 18 bottom.

Glad to hear you're investing in you and some new clothes.

I haven't been to group for three weeks, I'm a slacker. I'm just over top of target due to yet another blow out weekend with DH (his birthday) Its going to have to be back into target by next week or I'll have to pay at group! No more birthdays for three weeks now. Just an end of term night out to the local curry house as a possible high syn meal but not so high it'll blow anything. I'm going to try not to drink anything for July as my resolve disappears after a large wine and things spiral. Four weeks to get to bottom of target before my holiday.

hstar1995 · 04/07/2015 10:10

1lb off hereGrin bit disappointed as only needed to lose another pound for my 2 stone award, so need to up my game next week to get it! I think possibly I eat too much pasta, I know packet pasta etc is free, but I've had it 3 times this week so may need to cut back on that ð???

MisForMumNotMaid · 09/07/2015 14:35

1.5lb off on last weigh in, four weeks ago, with a big non registered fluctuation in between.

I'm so relieved to be back on target in the middle of my range. Its taken a rediculous effort to stop feast and famine eating.

I'm going to try not to comfort eat after yesterdays budget. So many good hard working families I know are going to be in crisis. I went to a transmission meeting at my DS's new school this morning and we're all one income or no income families severely effected all with disabled DC. It makes me so annoyed.
