Ooh you've got to be in the running Wombat. We didn't have a vote. I'd guess all the groups would vote at a similar time so no doubt we'll be doing that sometime in March.

Today I had a self indulgent hour making chicken thigh chorizo sausages. They're amazing, cheap and syn free!

I used 2 packs Aldi chicken thighs £1.99 for 750g skinned and boned (1200g meat bashed about and cut up to a course texture in the food processor)
2 teaspoons cayenne pepper
2.5teaspoons garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon mixed herbs
1 tablespoon mild chilli powder
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon paprika
1 tablespoon salt
3 tablespoons red balsamic vinegar
Chicken stock cube made up with 100ml cold water.

I've used collagen casings off Amazon but they would hold together without a casing. I know some people make sausages by using a thin cut bacon medallion as the skin/ wraping.

anothernumberone · 27/02/2015 21:39

Wow mis they look great. What do they taste like?

MisForMumNotMaid · 27/02/2015 21:55

Initially they taste like a mild chilli/garlic/ herb sausage, very full of flavour, but they leave quite a warm kick, really good aftertaste. They don't taste chicken like which is very odd.

We had them with pasta arrabiatta the pasta was part of the #trieditfree Tesco Orchard food trial programme I've been doing. Great excuse to cook something new (and free always goes down well). My husband pinched one of the sausages whilst it was resting and said 'these are nice, where did you get them', so i was rather pleased with that.

I'm feeling motivated to get cooking again this week and try a few more adventurous dishes. I brought some of the giant pasta shells that there are in the finest range (i had vouchers for two free packs) i thought i might try stuffing them as a lunch time treat/ snack. A sort of wrap/ pastry alternative.

anothernumberone · 28/02/2015 16:02

Sounds fab Mis. My lot love sausages they would be a good alternative.

calzone · 02/03/2015 22:28

Where are y'all???????

SmileSmileSmile

MisForMumNotMaid · 03/03/2015 13:10

I've found my spiritual home on the confessions of gluttony thread. Admittedly i don't think I quite qualify as most glutenous but theres solidarity in realising that in having the odd binge I'm not alone.

I will not link because its all gateaux and choc eclair talk, makes me salivate just thinking about it.Cake

Have you found your coccyx yet or was yours not lost? My bum padding has reduced to the point that if I plonk myself on a hard chair it hurts.

anothernumberone · 03/03/2015 20:32

God I would never last on that thread mis I am only ever back up on the wagon so I can fall off a thread like that and I would never get back on.

Worryingwombat · 03/03/2015 20:44

Hi calzone Grin I am here! How you getting on!

Mis- I will fight the gluttony thread for you!! Lol but I can not set foot in there! I might crumble with talk of cake!!

I am so tired from all the excercise I have done this week!! Shock Really going for it ! Want a good lost this week! I want to be in touching distance of that 4 stone award!! And ready to get that 5 stone award by the end of the month!! I have high hopes! Game on!! Xxxx

Wombat that is amazing. I have had to take the battery out of the scales. I kept checking my weight and it keeps fluctuating and giving me the rage. I have been doing really well sticking to my version of plan and I exercising left, right and centre so I have decided to work towards longer rather than shorter term goals code for the fecking weight is coming off so slowly

Worryingwombat · 04/03/2015 21:50

Today I have had a massive body magic day!!

1hr gym work out
1hr body combat class
1hr Sh'Bam class

L chicken salad
T chicken and tuna salad ( was having omelette but could not be bothered to cook!!

Snacks 2x Apple 2x alpen bar 1 muller light yoghut xxxx

calzone · 04/03/2015 22:22

Goodness Wombat! Am knackered reading that!

Lost 2.5lbs tonight making a total of 20lbs. SmileSmileSmile and I got my 10% award thing.

B.....weetabix, banana, pear, sk milk.

L....muller yoghurt

D....SW grill up with hash browns. Smile

MisForMumNotMaid · 05/03/2015 12:47

2.5lb off got my 4.5stone award. Just 5lb to my 5stone and target. Three weeks max to get there.

Well done Calzone 20lbs the loss is really ticking up. Do you have a target?

Booked a meal out for mothers day at a local curry house next Sunday so figure i need to have a fairly disciplined week this week to compensate.

Been to Aldi and Lidl today. I've purchased chicken thighs and lean pork chops (5% fat) to make lots more healthy sausages.

I also acquired three packs of Waygu burgers I've always wanted to try them. I thought how bad can a burger be I'll just syn it. 44% fat! They're 280 cals per 100g and 150g per burger so 420cals or approx 21 syns before bun and sauce! Even if i give them to DH and just have a bite to try thats like 5 syns. I just can't get my head round it.

calzone · 05/03/2015 18:18

Mis.....am going for gaunt! SmileSmile

Have never been gaunt. Ever.

Just kidding.

Am away at Easter in Cornwall for a week so want to maybe get to 2 stone if possible. Wink

Will not be on plan in Cornwall.......

Would love to be 11 stone......am currently 12 St 10lbs ish. We will see.

MisForMumNotMaid · 05/03/2015 19:34

4 weigh ins if you break up good friday/ Easter weekend. Focused 2lb/ week but doable if you're not dragged out on too many life events.

I believe there are rumours afoot that Easter is going to be a scorcher and its going to be like the med here, we should all plan to get to the coast. Cornwall sounds like a good plan. So does being of plan. I will be too at Easter.

My DH is off a week earlier than the children so I have a three week holiday period first week a few days in venice, second the excesses of Easter Day and I am having a whole Easter egg all to myself for the first time in years, third week will be days out and about with the DC's no doubt involving junk food.

I hit 11st 2 today. I'm 5ft5.5 so just getting towards the healthy range in NHS BMI terms but to my shock Slimming world BMI calculator is now saying I should be aiming for 23 BMI, which is another stone.

I realised after my bath this evening that I have quite distinct collar bones now. Not really seen them for a good few decades. Its quite odd. Forgive the wet hair, i'm slobbing about whilst the children settle.

my 22.3 stone mission! :)
anothernumberone · 05/03/2015 20:21

Mis looking good. The NHS BMI calculator tells me to go to 23 too boo hoo. I am 11 0.4 and 5 5 I am so looking forward to clearing my first stone when that stubborn 0.4 is gone.

Worryingwombat · 06/03/2015 13:03

What an amazing loss! Well done you must be thrilled! Is that 4 stone in 4 months?

Worryingwombat · 06/03/2015 16:29

Hi Dexter! Yes just a bit over 4 months I started the first week of November Grin

So chuffed at the loss this week! No idea were it came from!! Lol I like to aim for around 3lb if I can! But I have been under that a number of weeks

So this was very surprising!!! And very welcome!! Grin

It was so funny as i realised I was only half a pound off my 4 stone I said awwww on the scales and the weigh in lady's were like don't worry next week is your week for it! So our consultant over heard and was like why the sad face what's happened (think he thought I had put on!!) I said no I've lost 5lb so he was like well bloody scream then!! So I said yes but only a half till my 4 stone and he said awwwww !!!!GrinGrinGrinGrin

Was funny at the time!! So excited yet a slight disappointment at having to wait to hit the 4 stone marker!!!! Lol Grin

MisForMumNotMaid · 06/03/2015 17:10

Happy Birthday Wombats DH.

CakeCakeCakeCakeCakeCake

5lb. Bloomin amazing. As you say it all catches up and you know you've been good without the mega losses. Still half a pound short, like me last week 1/2 off my 4.5stone. Its so frustrating.

Did you hear about the biggest looser thing that was voted on last week?

Worryingwombat · 06/03/2015 18:17

Mis- hubby's says thanks for the birthday wishes!! Grin

Our greatest loser in our group was a lovely lady who has been going since May last year she lost 4stone 5lb Grin

Next year it will be mine!!!! Lol GrinGrinGrin
