You need to get through Carb flu to do SP as your body wants the carbs. Smile

GlitterandSequins · 25/01/2015 10:17

I think part of what helps me with sp is finding similar carb replacements such as singing swede or cauliflower rice, I also found that if I didn't use at least 1 hex b for bread it would be more difficult even though when I'm on EE I hardly ever use it for bread.

dexter73 · 25/01/2015 10:21

I must get some singing swede! I might feel a bit mean eating it though Grin!

BabsUnited · 26/01/2015 07:32

Weigh in for me today. Feel like I've done ok this week, even was pretty good over the weekend which is my usual downfall. We had takeaway last night, Turkish, but I made a massive salad while DH was out picking it up so I ate chicken shish (so just chunks, griddled), loads of my salad and a tablespoon of onion salad that came with it. Oh and a pork chop. Felt pretty lean and healthy so I feel happy I made an ok choice. And one small glass red wine.

I made a delicious SW friendly red Thai curry on Friday with white fish and seafood which was lovely. DH didn't like it cos it 'didn't have enough coconut milk in' but it had half the can Hmm But everything has to be full fat etc with him which is difficult. Was a bit pissed off as id had a tough day but still cooked a nice dinner for us both...yet he moaned! Ha, sorry, perhaps I should post on the relationship board instead

Worryingwombat · 26/01/2015 22:07

You have a good moan in here babs!! I certainly do!!

How did weigh in go!!

I am feeling good today! Went to the gym this morning played squash for 40mins with hubby! And then we went in to the full gym for a workout!

B weetabix
L speed soup
T burgers (no bun) with a sw salsa dressing and salad yum!!!

piggychops · 27/01/2015 00:19

Total disaster this week. Started off ok but went downhill as it wore on. Weigh in tomorrow and dreading it Sad

piggychops · 27/01/2015 09:04

Well that wasn't quite as bad as I thought. No loss but no gain either. ( am doing it online).
I know what went wrong. I started off guessing Syns each day and I stopped the food diary. It all descended from there. I also wasn't eating enough fruit and veg.
It doesn't take much to throw things off does it?

There are no meetings near me that I can get to, but when I do it properly it works! I just have to keep recording everything.

piggychops · 27/01/2015 09:48

Some Nando's stuff is on the Syns calculator. There's a flame grilled chicken breast for 3 Syns.

BabsUnited · 27/01/2015 10:13

I really wish they had more chain restaurant type stuff on the syns calculator. It can't be that difficult. I am desperate for a noodle soup from Itsu, a proper one with udon noodles from the shop. But I don't know the syn value. I know you can put calories in and approximate that way but I don't think that's accurate, because in theory all the ingredients should be free (it's grilled chicken breast, loads of veg like mushrooms/beansprouts/green beans etc, then udon noodles (which will be oily), and then the stock.

Yet whenever I put things like 'asda strawberry yoghurt' into the syns it brings up every other brand instead of asda Hmm Angry

BabsUnited · 27/01/2015 10:20

Am impressed piggychops that you can do it online! The fear of those scales at Group each week spurs me on when I can feel myself weakening

piggychops · 27/01/2015 13:13

DH and the children are really supportive so although I weigh myself in private, I tell them my loss/gain each time. DH is shedding a few pounds with me so that helps. He just seems to have far more willpower than I do!

piggychops · 27/01/2015 13:18

Babs sometimes it's easier to feed the nutritional info into the Syn calculator, then keep a note for future reference.
I've decided to Syn everything not free, and write it in big black marker on the packet. It's hopefully going to be a stark reminder before I eat.

calzone · 27/01/2015 19:59

SYNSALLOWED on FB is fabulous for SW syns. SmileSmile
