Thanks for all the support everyone! He had he second testing today and they have confirmed dyspraxia as well they are doing blood tests just to check and rule out any enzyme or thyroid problems but he has been now referred to OT and the children's development unit.

I am been punished for eating that huge butty yesterday!! I have never felt so bloated I am in pain!! It was the first lot of bread I have had in over 3 weeks and my stomach is not happy!! I thought I had been bloated before but it is nothing compared to this pressure pain!!

I have weigh in tonight so not happy and hope this bloat goes down!!

Welcome babs!! You will get some amazing support on here!! Just think how close you are to target and think of what you have achieved in a short time! Lots of the other ladies on here have said it is harder to lose weight when closer to target ranges and you can do it!!

Stick with it even a slow loss is better!! Think how great you will feel by the summer!! Grin

We are all here to support each other!!

Can not believe how many posts this thread has!! We will be having to come up with a group name soon for thread 2 GrinGrinGrin

Hello Babsunited, welcome. 3.5lbs is 3.5lbs. Its a loss, its the right direction. Its one hell of a lot of fat. Do you have one of those revolting 1lb moulded fat blocks in group?

I'm a bit off a weight loss plodder, slow and steady. I don't seam to get enormous losses, but neither do I get massive gains (mines gone on slowly over the years).

Today was a 1.5lb loss so I'm finally below my Christmas weight and feel like I'm back on the losing curve. I hit 12stone exactly and at 1.66m i've decided to move my first target to 10st12 (25 BMI) so that its in reach.

I've got 9 weigh ins/ 10 weeks until I have a short break with my husband to Venice and would dearly love to get to within 3lb of my new target so i could set my target at the upper end (and stop paying) before I go. So my new weight loss plan is to lose 13lb - 1st2 lb in the next 10 weeks. Thats a consistent 1.5lbs a week loss which I haven't quit achieved over the last few months so I need to consciously up my speed foods and water intake.

We're then away a lot over Easter, May, July and August so my plan is to maintain, attend group without having to pay so long as I'm maintaining. Spend more time toning up and then rethink about the last stone I'd like to shift between September and December.

BabsUnited · 22/01/2015 15:46

Oh I like that idea Misfor - DH and I are going away for our anniversary in May and I've just worked out for me to get to (just under) target by then, I need to lose 2lbs a week. That's achievable I think. But then 15 weeks is a long time Blush

MisForMumNotMaid · 22/01/2015 16:29

Wombat i'm sorry I cross posted with your earlier. I got distracted mid post and when i returned and posted yours appeared before mine. I wasn't ignoring you, honest.

Butty bite back. Love that. Its certainly one way to stop excess white bread consumption. Bloating is no good, i hope it doesn't effect things for you tonight. The thing is your exercise levels have been really high this week and so a bit of excess water retention is possible due to hot muscles from being used in ways they're maybe not so used to. What ever happens, my money is on about a 3lb loss, its all going the right way. You've lost a phenomenal amount and know you can and will do this, one week at a time.

How does your son feel about diagnosis for dyslexia and dyspraxia?

fruitloopsandfruitshoots · 22/01/2015 18:55

I lost 2lb. I'm not that happy as i've been really good AND doing SP so think I deserve more, but oh well. At least it's a loss I guess! I was hoping for at least 4, but never mind. I think I may forget SP and just go back to EE, although I do quite like having the extra HEB. I am weighing in on Friday next week instead of Thurs because i'm away on business next week, so at least I get an extra day- although the trip will probably mean being offered wine and excess food, so going to be a bit of a minefield!

MisForMumNotMaid · 22/01/2015 19:13

fruit if ever anyone needed a bucket if ice. You've lost over half a stone in two weeks! Thats an amazing amount of weight. Just think thats best part of 4 bags sugar. Imagine gorging on 4 bags of sugar, one after another until your done. Doesn't it make you want to gag?

This is that old balance of living and weight loss, which every one has to fathom for themselves. When I was about to go on hols in the summer a friend of my sis, also doing slimming world, said to me don't forget to enjoy it. She said 'picture yourself on the scales when you get back. What loss would you need to have to justify the halo you'd have crafted for yourself if you resist all temptation whilst away?' My answer is probably 7lb plus. Its just not achievable by me. The counter to the question is what weight would you have to have gained to make you fall right off plan and give up? The answer for me is there isn't a number. I know that I need this. I know there will be blips but its an eating style for the long term. I relaxed, I maintained.

So doing EESP do you feel its a big sacrifice and compromise on your eating? What weight needs to be reflected on the scales? 4lb plus? You could probably get that if you do it one week a month and relax a bit the other three four weeks and plod along with 1 - 3lb EE losses (they quickly add up).

fruitloopsandfruitshoots · 22/01/2015 20:41

You are totally right mis, I was just really hoping for a bit more this week, but you are right, 2lb is very good, and over half a stone in 2 weeks is definitely a big success. I think I will do what you suggest and do EESP properly for one week a month, and then relax for the other 3 a bit. If I carry on at 2lb a week, then I will be where I want to be by mid-May, which is achievable.

We can do this! Grin

Worryingwombat · 22/01/2015 21:52

Only lost 1lb Hmm

Still a loss but I have been exercising and eating well!!

Bit gutted as I would have liked more but I just knew tonight! I felt like I had not lost!

wombat. DS is DS. His diagnosis hasn't changed him from the boy he was the day before it. It's just now he can get help with stuff. Try not to be too upset. I know quite a few people with one or the other and they're all doing really well for themselves.

1lb is shitty when you've worked hard but when I'm being good I weigh daily. I do it because it helps me to see the fluctuations and accept them. I do BOOTCAMP low carb, so official weighing days are Mondays. During the one week I can be up and down by as much as 5lb, but the scales on 'weighing day' might be the same as the previous week. If I only weighed that once I'd feel I haven't achieved anything, whereas seeing the daily fluctuations you can see that 'stuff' is happening...

Also, sometimes you'll be losing inches, but not 'weight'.

Chocolou · 23/01/2015 19:03

Help!!! After posting about my couple of bad days/meal outs I feel like ive lost it completely.
Today I had 2 ripples and I don't know why. I'm so cross with myself. I hate being 12 stone but I keep sabotaging it. How do I get my motivation back and stop myself making silly choices.

MisForMumNotMaid · 23/01/2015 20:05

Chocolou we're at the same weight point and i've been hovering at this point and just above for a while, determined to get things moving.

I'm meal planning this week, ensuring I have my 1/3 speed, snacking on good fruits (i love ripe strawberries for instance) and building in syn treats so it doesn't feel to arduous. I'm about to tuck into a mini green and blacks Angelsea sea salt bar.

Its important to accept whats been. You can't change it, don't dwell or you'll depress yourself and then comfort eat.

So i'm guessing in this next week you'll have one or two events where there might be temptation? What about the rest of the time, because its the bulk of days that makes the biggest difference?

What food excites you? What do you want to try? Can you afford to do a proper big shop to get some good stuff in like steak and chips, low fat mince for burger in a bowl, nice pasta, smoked salmon, cottage cheese?

MisForMumNotMaid · 23/01/2015 20:10

Wombat this fat images link is for you you need to get yourself a tape measure and note your body measurements each week at weigh in. Scroll down to the end images and look at the size difference between 5lb fat and 5lb muscle. A no show on the scales could really show on the tape measure, which
I've always known, but the image really shows.

Worryingwombat · 23/01/2015 22:19

Thanks for the kick guys!! Mis those photos really brought it home!!

I will be getting a tape measure and doing my measurements on Monday!

Today I have started well for this week keeping motivated!! 5lb to lose to my next goal of 3 stone off!!

Today I have...
B weetabix and milk

1 hour of aqua aerobics

L speed soup!!

1 hour of fun roller blading/skating with the kids!! Had such a good time we are going back tomorrow as well!! Grin

T ham, mushroom, pea and onion frittata with salad

2 Alpen bars

1 bowl of yoghurt sweet treats!Wink

Ok yesterday at weigh in a lady spoke of her sweet treat been frozen yoghurt!

She uses Vanilla and chocolate muller (free) puts Small spoon fulls on to backing paper and freezes!

Makes them like little chocolate buttons!!

So tried them tonight and they make loads from one pot and last ages!! Feels like a really sweet treat or dessert!! Grin

Now I have been wanting to try the new muller chocolate fix yoghurt but at 5 Syns thought they were a bit much but I will be getting some to try this with as you could have a 1/2 portion (as they make loads) for 2.5 Syns!!!Grin

OP posts:
dexter73 · 23/01/2015 22:35

You can just put the whole pot of yogurt in the freezer for a couple of hours. It is really good, just like a tub of ice cream (well near enough!).

MisForMumNotMaid · 24/01/2015 07:08

In the interests of science I will be making muller buttons and frozen muller.

GlitterandSequins · 24/01/2015 09:48

Oooo oooo Wombat that sounds lush! Got a fridge full of mullers so will be making some shortly!! :)

piggychops · 24/01/2015 11:13

chocolou you sound a bit like I was. If you have a binge you think "oh well, I've blown it for today. I'll start again tomorrow"
I found a solution after raiding the fridge of cocktail sausages one day : calculate the Syns you have just eaten. It's often not as bad as you think and you can pull it back by adjusting what you have for the rest of the day.
I haven't been ravenously hungry so far, but when I get twinges I try to remind myself that it's ok to feel this, and hunger isn't necessarily a bad thing.
It's worth googling images for 1lb of fat as it's more than you think volume-wise, so if only 1/2lb comes off one week it's still a good thing.Smile

Worryingwombat · 24/01/2015 11:23

My fridge has space!!!!Grin

That's cause all the mullers are in the freezer GrinGrinGrinGrinWink

Wombat.....are Muller Lights on offer anywhere? Smile

I love them with oats.

Linzdreamz · 24/01/2015 19:54

Calzone yes, I got it from Sainsburys today, six for £3, even got skinny cuppochino :)
Thank you for whoever mentioned the Syns allowed page, otherwise I wouldn't have get any of those. I was never a fan of yougurt, may be because, I din't feel the need to, with all those fab Icecreams to choose instead :)

Chocolou · 24/01/2015 20:30

I got weighed today and it wasn't as bad as I thought. Only 0.5 gain. Am back on track again fingers crossed.
I'm just about to do my Charlotte Crosby DVD.

I went shopping with a girlfriend yesterday and caught sight of myself. It's the first time I've really thought I looked fat. Big kick up arse moment.

CoconutAmericano · 24/01/2015 20:38

Hmm frozen mullers ya say?! I might just have to try that! I am 10 st 8 lbs now. Only 4 to go!!! I had a blow out yesterday due to job interview stress but am totally back on track today.

wombat a loss is a loss my dear. Hope you're ok in yourself following your son's diagnoses x

MisForMumNotMaid · 24/01/2015 20:53

Look what I'm snacking on..

They're lovely. Thanks for the oh so complex recipe, kicking myself for not thinking of this sooner Grin
