How bizarre Fruitloops. I was thinking of you earlier and wondering whether I should private message you to bring you back into the fold.

4lb for all of Dec and a good chunk into January really isn't something to be ashamed of. I think you had an active social life planned for December. Have you enjoyed yourself?

Worryingwombat · 09/01/2015 18:46

FRUITLOOP!!!!! happy to here from you!!!! Welcome back and massive congratulations on going back to group!!!

The line has been drawn under it now!! 4lb is nothing to gain and I bet will be off quickly!! Grin

Aaaah I love you guys!

Thanks for the lovely welcome back Grin

I am back on it with a vengeance and am starting the new year with a bang!

I had a lovely December thank you, and was worried i'd have put on a lot more than 4lb so i'm not too sad about the gain. How are you all? I see you've been doing very well! Did you stay on plan over xmas?

oneowlgirl · 09/01/2015 19:40

Welcome back Fruitloops - I put 10lb in total on in December Blush but I did have a great time & was all my own doing, so can't complain.

Back now & on plan & what was good in group this week was because of the launch of the new plan, it's like I've re-joined, so no embarrassment!

WOMBAT - fantastic news - not just beating that 19st barrier, but smashing it! Well done & great news on the health front!

Good luck for the weekend everyone as that's when I struggle as I like my wine too much & then go completely off the rails!

GlitterandSequins · 09/01/2015 20:16

I also put on 10 lb in December and at last weigh in I was 3.5lb heavier than when I joined! Stuck to SP plan this week though (barring a few muller lights!) and hoping for a fairly decent loss on Monday to spur me on.

Wombat that is great news on all counts well done you!! Grin

oneowlgirl · 09/01/2015 22:18

I am -1lb on my joining weight now but this is me back on track! I haven't tried the SP yet - not sure I could do it really as I like my pasta & rice too much! I'll stick to regular plan for a couple of weeks & if it's not moving then I'll try the SP.

Good luck for this week Glitter & let us know how you get on with SP.

Worryingwombat · 09/01/2015 23:26

Thank you glitter and oneowl! I am still on a high from it all!!

Fruitloops - I had a 1/2 gain over Christmas and now weighed yesterday with the 5 1/2lb loss so I am very happy Grin

I stuck with sp for a week and I am doing it again this week really enjoying it! Not missing the carbs and my intake of fruit and salad has gone up nicely!! Good luck with it this week Smile

GlitterandSequins · 10/01/2015 09:12

I don't weigh until Mon but will share the results. I agree that I haven't really missed the carbs and upping my protein intake and the extra hex b choice has kept me feeling full.

Going to go back to EE for a couple of days after weigh in (purely for a couple of easy jacket potato days!) and then maybe try and alternate.

MisForMumNotMaid · 10/01/2015 14:08

Wombat have you seen the advice on slimming worlds own web page about doing more than 1 week on SP? I think you're meant to have 2 healthy A's as well as healthy B's after week 1.

ChippingInLatteLover · 10/01/2015 14:56

It all sounds massively confusing!

I wonder if that's, in part, why it works? Keep you soooo busy working out what you can and can't have, you don't have the time or inclination to actually eat Grin

I think I'll stick to low carbing.

Well, I say 'stick' what I actually mean is start again on BOOTCAMP on the 20th Grin

Worryingwombat · 11/01/2015 10:31

Our consultant on this said to add an extra heA or a yoghurt a day as I don't have hot drinks I won't use more milk and I don't really eat cheese so I went with the yoghurt!

Today I am full of cold!!

B weetabix and milk
L veg and lentil soup
T cottage pie
Filling - quorn peas leeks and onion
Topping - carrot and swede mash

ChippingInLatteLover · 11/01/2015 10:34

CoconutAmericano · 11/01/2015 17:29

Ah welcome back fruitloop Smile i gained 4 lbs over Christmas too. no shame! But im back on the wagon again < sigh> and staying focused! Had a few drinks last night so having a syn free day today to balance it out. Having a quorn spag Bol for dinner. Nice alternative to beef. See you're having it tonight too wombat Smile

MisForMumNotMaid · 11/01/2015 20:09

Tough day today. Went to Tesco and they had a rack of lamb for £1.28. I couldn't leave a bargain like that on the shelf. Neither could I leave the 1p pack of 8 KitKat Chunkys.

Been swimming, came back famished. We've eaten the lamb. It was beautiful i cooked it without trimming then trimmed to serve so not SYN free but sooo tasty with a drizzle of mint sauce. We had it roasted carrots, mini corn and wedges.

The KitKats have been commandeered by the children (fortunately). I've got a batch of low syn meringues in the oven but they're not drying out very well in this damp weather.

calzone · 11/01/2015 20:21

Mis.....low syn meringues?

Tell me more. Smile

MisForMumNotMaid · 11/01/2015 20:34

3 egg whites, 90g sugar, 10g sugar substitute sweetener, vanilla essence. Whisk whites till stiff peaks, add vanilla essence, add sugar and sweetener whisking in a spoon at a time. Pipe onto a tray as small kisses. They're in the oven at around 100 for two/ three hours then the oven gets turned off and they're left to cool.

The whole batch is 18Syn (the only syns being the sugar). Today I piped 90 kisses so less than 1/4 syn per kiss.

GlitterandSequins · 11/01/2015 20:54

Oooo I will definitely have to try the low syn meringues! I have discovered that lemon curd is only 2.5 syns per tablespoon (which is more than it sounds!) and have been having it on toast (using my hex b) as a kind of topless lemon meringue pie!

The random combinations we discover in the name of weight loss eh! Smile

MisForMumNotMaid · 11/01/2015 21:19

Theres a lovely syn free DIY lemon curd. Goes well with the meringues, very much like lemon meringue pie. Even better with meringue and a batch of syn free icecream.

If you google slimming world lemon curd you'll pull up loads of recipes.

Basically its a couple of eggs, a few heaped spoons sweetner, zest and juice of a lemon. You whisk it all together and then put it in a bowl over gently simmering water and gently whisk till it thickens. Once thickened you take it off the heat and stir in some quark or low fat fromage frais. It lasts a good few days in the fridge (if you don't eat it straight away).

Dowser · 12/01/2015 09:06

My cousin lost 20 stone with SW . In fact he would do a couple of days of the Dukan diet and then the rest SW.

I'm doing Mfp at the moment but might switch to SW in a couple of weeks time. It's good for when you are away from home and having to eat more so you can make better choices.

I haven't read all the thread wombat. Can I ask how much you have lost since starting your journey?

fruitloopsandfruitshoots · 12/01/2015 11:08

I have the best breakfast recipe! I am attempting the SP plan this week to see if I can get some good results this week Smile

Raspberry bocker glory

30g porridge oats
As many frozen raspberries as you like
100g quark
1/2 sachet of options hot chocolate

Mix the hot choc and quark together, and basically layer it with the oats and raspberries and leave in the fridge overnight for the oats to soften.

SOOOO yummy! Raspberries are free, quark is free and oats are HEB Grin I ate this 2.5 hours ago and i'm still stuffed!

Would be a really nice pudding too I think. Yum yum yum.

fruitloopsandfruitshoots · 12/01/2015 11:09

P.S- I AM BACK ON IT! Grin

MisForMumNotMaid · 12/01/2015 13:31

That does sound good. I've got quark in and instant low fat hot choc (i'm sure I could work out a half sachet equivalent)

Might nip to lidl for some frozen berry fruit. Always looking for filling easy breakfasts to vary things from bacon, egg, tomatoes, mushrooms and beans.

I'm coming round slowly to the idea if doing SP next week. I feel i'd probably have more syns, but may just preemptively be making excuses.
