Hello everyone

I have had some problems recently but to look forward and remain positive I have decided to tackle my weight problem

I join sw last week I was terrified and even more ashamed when I.stepped on the scales 22stone and 3 lb I was mortified!!!!!

Anyhow I went through the plan for week one and I had my first weigh in yesterday and lost 5.5lb :)

I was so happy ?? I found this section of mumsnet tonight and thought I could use it as a diary and to get feed back on my menus!

Plus loads of hints and tips!! Oh and recipes

Today I had
Scrambed egg on 2 slices of wholemeal toast

Jacket potato with diced ham sweet corn and beetroot

Apple

Slimming world recipe spag bol
Made with Quorn

10 cal.jelly and 2 hi light bars

Xxx

I got my new pack today and while 'free foods' (pasta/potatoes etc) are allowed you are encouraged to stick to S (speed) and P (protein) foods to boost weight loss

I can't see how it is massively different from the extra easy plan to be honest but going to try it this week and see if I can kick start myself back on track.

Setting myself the challenge to lose 1 stone by the end of Jan and any extra help is more than welcomed!

MisForMumNotMaid · 30/12/2014 07:48

Thanks for the clarification.

I put a message on my groups facebook page last night saying the info was now on the Slimming World website but it looked a bit lacking in potato, rice and pasta. Are they still allowed, or do they get syned?

I got a slightly snotty response from the consultant saying that facebook isn't the place for discussing the plan i should attend group to do that.

I think I might seek out a new group. Previously we've had that facebook isn't the space for any negative thoughts. Only positive posts and photos of syn free food. It just about killed a quite active facebook group. What ever happened to support.

She's now taken down the thread that I posted on.

Worryingwombat · 30/12/2014 09:24

Bloody hell mis! She sounds miserable!!

Who are you ment to have a discussion about the plan with others if it is banned from the Facebook group!! Stupid!!

We have a great group but out Facebook tends to stick to meals and pics of meals that's why I started posting here to have a good gossip and a frickin winge when I need one!! GrinGrin

I do enjoy the group. The consultant confesses that she doesn't like or particularly do Facebook. Its the second group I've gone to and is a good laugh. Some lovely people and I particularly like the honesty. I so often hear other people say things about their eating and think 'yep, thats me'. It makes me feel less of a failure for getting so out of control with eating.

We've got about four regulars who are at target plus/ minus a few pounds. Its really interesting how they too have to work at maintaining. One lady dropped 4lbs the week after reaching target. She took a couple of months to stabilise bouncing between big losses and gains. Sort of testing the waters in how to eat.

Maybe my consultant felt that I was taking the edge of her big new plan announcement. The thing is there isn't a group this week. Just a weigh in so not much chance to ask any questions. I'm quite capable of cutting my nose off to spite my face so I'll wind my neck in and stick to the current extra easy plan for this week. Maybe up the veg a bit as that is slipping back and carbs are probably a bit up.

I love the thought of going all out for a stone loss in January but thats only four weigh ins so it would be doubling my average losses.

GlitterandSequins · 30/12/2014 11:05

That's a bit cheeky not letting you ask questions when there's no group this week, I didn't stay for group yday (I find it quite boring to be honest) but have read through my new pack and I plan on staying to group next week when people will have had chance to look at it and think of any questions.

There's no mention of potatoes, rice and pasta being syned that I can see just that you should aim to be filling up on veg and proteins wherever possible.

CoconutAmericano · 30/12/2014 17:15

That is ridiculous misfor! Some people don't like talking in big groups and would much rather chat online about the plan, meals (syn free or otherwise!) etc. The leader sounds very bossy. It's her group, her rules lol. I'd find another group!

Worryingwombat · 30/12/2014 18:54

Ok 1/2 a lb on Hmm

Not bad for 3 days of stuffing my face!! Grin

Reading new book now will be following the SP PLAN till next weigh in

OP posts:
MisForMumNotMaid · 30/12/2014 19:12

1/2 lb is a small glass of water. Clothes thickness variations can amount to 1/2 lb. its bloomin cold today too.

I think thats a fab draw a line under it weigh in. Three days of laid back eating a few more of on plan eating and basically you've maintained. Thats the end goal for all of us isn't it? To be able to indulge and master reigning it back in to be basically stable.

If mines 1/2lb on Friday weigh in the sonic boom you'll all hear up and down the country at 10 am ish is me shouting with joy from the stadium roof top.

P.S. Thank you all for the support about my consultant. It was good to vent a bit. She's gone back up in my estimation because she messaged me this afternoon to apologise that shes removed my post (and her response) because she didn't want others to get confused about the plan without having full access to the info. I think she probably typed it late last night maybe even after a glass or two and has reread it this morning and realised it was a bit snippy.

CoconutAmericano · 30/12/2014 19:48

Well that was decent of her misfor. We'll let her off so Grin

well done wombat that is seriously good considering the time of year. Half pound is nothing!! You are so restrained. I feel like I am in a constant battle with myself. Angel on one shoulder, devil on the other Hmm

Worryingwombat · 30/12/2014 23:49

She is forgiven mis!! (For nowGrin)

Thanks guys I did feel shocked and had the paranoid feeling that others were thinking how much must she have bloody ate to put on at her size!! (Yes I am been stupid!!)

So on the SP plan from tomorrow just ordered a handheld vegetable spiralizer from e bay it makes veg like courgette and carrot in to spiral pasta type stuff thought it might help with pasta been off the menu on the SP

also makes so good looking salads!! Will let u know if it works!!

Coconut what is that gizmo called? I like that idea!

MisForMumNotMaid · 31/12/2014 16:10

£1.23 delivered, from Amazon apple corer slicer. I'd guess quality would vary quite a bit. There's a good grips one for about £4.

I've just seen the spiralizer things. I'd be sitting on my hands avoiding hitting buy if I weren't using them to type.

MrsPepperMintonCandyCane · 31/12/2014 16:29

Thank you Mis

Wombat i'll have you know turkey bums are considered quite a delicacy in some parts of the world, rather fatty though!

Are you having two healthy B's a day ding SP?

dexter73 · 01/01/2015 11:51

Beans and egg is fine as long as egg isn't cooked in oil.

Happy New Year to everyone as well!
