Whoop whoop indeed!! Xmas Grin. Really, really pleased for you!

2 stone lost is fabulous isn't it!! Can you feel it/see it? Or rather, the lack of it?!

Definitely have Christmas off and enjoy it, remember, this is about 'recovery' and looking after yourself as much as it is weight loss! Enjoy, enjoy!

Merry Christmas and a Very Happy New Year!
X

Worryingwombat · 24/12/2014 09:18

Hi chippingGrin
No I can not see it my husband says he can! But been so big and short (5ft 3in)anyway I did not expect to see much!!

Clothes wise I have gone from a 30/32 to a baggy 26 Smile

My consultant at Sw has suggested to do all my measurements to keep track of non scale victorys!!

Feeling full of energy though!!

Congrats Wombat - really well done Grin

MisForMumNotMaid · 24/12/2014 13:00

Congratulations Wombat 2st. Best present you could get yourself. I lost 2lb too.

I'm already purple planning. My appetite is far smaller though. DH and I polished off a bottle of Aldi mulled wine under the stars last night. It was really nice.

I'm off plan/ stopping counting till midnight boxing day, then back properly on plan.

My next weigh in isn't until friday 2nd so I want a full new plan synopsis report on Tuesday Grin, i'm no good at surprises.

Have a fab Christmas every one.

ChippingInLovesChristmasLights · 24/12/2014 16:08

It's brilliant that you are feeling so full of energy!!

I couldn't see it when I'd lost it either, just the scales and my clothes told me it must be so. Everyone kept remarking on it when I'd lost that much. Lovely. Now I've found it all again, no one has been brave enough to mention it! but you can see the double takes in people I've not seen for a while. I can see it's there again and boy can I feel it. Grr. I was so determined, don't know what happened. New year, new start.

So thrilled for you though! You enjoy it!

oneowlgirl · 24/12/2014 17:19

Never done SW before.

Anyone up for a quick run through and top tips.

Am hoping to lose 3 stone by May. Smile

TIA

oneowlgirl · 26/12/2014 22:54

There's a new plan in January Calzone, so we'll all be learning that together Smile

calzone · 26/12/2014 22:56

Ok.....new stuff for all then? Smile

Is it low fat, low sugar?

Worryingwombat · 26/12/2014 23:05

Hi calzone

Welcome Grin the current plan works on a non diet format it's more about a life style change and it is very easy to follow

Veg and fruit are free mostly
Rice potatoes and pasta all free
Red meats Turkey chicken fish all free

Most fruit and veg and speed foods
Some foods are super speed foods like mushy peas and baked beans

You have a health a choice like milk or set portion of cheese per day
And a healthy b choice like bead or cereals all listed in the book

Everything else is counted as Syns you have between 5 and 15 Syns a day

You should never be hungry

Check out some of the menus on the slimming world website they do a 7 day free menu also have a fab list of recipes

As you now know the new plan books are out from today Grin get mine on Tuesday the plan is ment to be easier and have bigger weight lossesGrinGrin

To save u some money WOMEN magazine are doing a voucher for free membership or 1/2 membership I think in the next issue (saw it on my groups Facebook siteGrin)

Best of all have fun with it enjoy it and join us on here keeping each other going Smile

Great Wombat! Thanks. Smile

So can I have weetabix, fruit and skimmed milk for breakfast?

Rockchick1984 · 28/12/2014 04:52

Hi all, mind if I jump in here with you? I did slimming world after I had DS and lost the baby weight, DD is now nearly 10 months and I've still got 2/3 stone to lose Blush so going back to group I think. Starting it without class, as I've still got the books, but I'm intrigued about the new plan!

Wombat 2st in 8 weeks is inspiring!!

calzone you can have that for breakfast if you use the weetabix and milk as your A and B choices so that will be it for bread/cereal and dairy for the day unless you use some of your syns. I never found it to be worth it as I like having milk in my coffee or a bit of cheese on my dinner!

MisForMumNotMaid · 28/12/2014 09:10

An alternative for breakfast is to have very low fat yogurt or a muller light on oats with fruit. If you mix oats/ wheetabix with the yogurt and fruit then leave it overnight its really quite nice, and bulks up.

An alternative is slimming world pancakes. If you soak oats in yogurt overnight then add an egg and fry in frylight or a light spray oil its a little like american pancakes. A tablespoon of honey or a little sugar and lemon is only a syn to finish it off.

It leaves you with milk/ cheese allowance to have with drinks/ food.

rockchick One of the magazines is doing free joining in January so if you wanted to get the new pack it would only be the £4.95 class fee.

Worryingwombat · 28/12/2014 10:50

Welcome rockchick!

It's a great group of people on here and a great support!!

Glad to be back on plan yesterda!! Felt good Grin

B scrambled egg and beans
L Sw veg soup and 2 slices of small wholemeal bread
T mushy pea curry GrinGrinSmileSmileSmile

Back on track and feeling positive Grin

OP posts:
calzone · 28/12/2014 16:28

I love mushy peas!

What is mushy pea curry? SmileSmile

MisForMumNotMaid · 28/12/2014 17:17

Onion, mushy peas, baked beans, 2 tablespoons curry powder. Either blitz or leave lumpy. Its good as a near instant sauce either to pour over chicken or dip slimming world chips in.

oneowlgirl · 28/12/2014 18:08

A tin of baked beans & a tin of mushy peas?? How do they go together? Sounds horrible, so will have to try it!! Grin

Rockchick1984 · 28/12/2014 19:28

Is salted popcorn really awful syns-wise? I've been good all day but DH and I are watching a film later and he's come home with a huge bag of salted popcorn, I really want some Confused

MisForMumNotMaid · 28/12/2014 20:13

It really depends what type of popcorn. Basic salted appears to be about 2.5syns for 11g. But a (v.small) crisp bag sized amount is more like 5.5 syns. Butter popcorn like butterkist is double that.

If you've had a low syn day a small bowl is not so bad. Cutting back only works longterm if you also live a little and don't feel like you're permanently depriving yourself.

I see it as either or.

So for me a treat is either a small wine or a small bar of green and blacks or a bag of salt and vinegar french fries. Some people are very good at depriving themselves but after six months at group now my observation is those who are too strict and don't ever have syns/ flexi syn days, are those who fall hardest off plan and then disappear from group.

Oh and the slimming world curry is revolting to look at. Its the halloween mix of orange from the beans and luminous green from the mushy peas, yet somehow after a good mix its like chip shop curry sauce. Its cheap, quick and convenient.

GlitterandSequins · 28/12/2014 20:47

Hi all,

Mind if I join the chat?
Been back at SW a while (3rd time to join) and determined to stick with it this time!
I tend to lose a stone and then think I will be ok on my own but then lose all motivation and undo all my hard work Blush

Still at nearly 3 stone off in total but have easily got another 3 to lose.

Excited to find out more about the new plan at group this week!
