I've made veg crisps and lovely dips too but when I'm stressed etc nothing can beat Doritos. It seriously is an addiction I struggle with. I really need to shift this extra weight. I'm feeling down on myself badly atm. No confidence in clothes, looks etc. I've had 3 emergency c-sections, surgery on my spine, bladder, bowel. I've deficiency in all sorts such as vit D and zinc despite being active and out doors a lot. I've got Carpal tunnel syndrome and am waiting to see what the specialist will do despite wearing the splints at night (very sexy!) bit fed up tbh.
Sorry for the vent.

tabulahrasa · 04/12/2014 14:22

There's some things I just can't replace either Smile I just buy limited amounts of them so that's all I can eat, lol.

I quite like Doritos too, but they're something I can work round...it's chocolate I'm bad for.

For crisps I just buy wotsits, skips or ringoes and they do me...but low syn chocolatey things just aren't the same as actual chocolate.

I don't have health issues, but I would have had weight related ones pretty soon I reckon, my knees and back were getting dodgy...they're so much better now I'm only a couple of stones away from target - not that I'm saying your health is to do with your weight, but, you will feel a bit better in general, honest, it really does make a difference.

demoska1 · 04/12/2014 14:40

I love chocolate too. I don't buy any biscuits, choc, crisps etc because I know if they are in the house I can't stop myself!
My health issues are just bad luck I think. I was in spain for 3 months so vit D should not have been an issue. I'm on meds to help with my arthritis and pain killers for my back and leg. I'm lucky tho as I woke up one day in June and was paralysed from my waist, down my right leg and had little feeling in my bladder and bowel. I had emergency surgery and was in hospital for 2weeks. I'm up and mobile now although still have some limited movement in my hip and leg. Just glad the rest got fixed as I did not want to be wearing a nappy!
My challenge now is to shift at least 2 stone. I look scrawny at 9 stone despite only being 5'2".

Worryingwombat · 04/12/2014 16:45

Mis - HUGE congratulations slimmer of the week!!!!!! Well done you for reaching that 3 1/2 stone off goal!! :) so pleased for you

Demoska - I am.battling health problems too I have epilepsy depression vitamin d deficiency and benign intercraninial hypertension (BIH) I found out on Tues that I need surgery for a shunt to control the BIH

I have been given till April to lose more weight to see if this improves the condition if not surgery will happen that month but I look as a positive either way as every lb lost will make my surgery and anesthetic that bit safer!!

Wow I can not believe we have filled a 1/4 of this thread!! I know your saying about the thread 2 name perhaps we should make up a group name as this thread is about a few of us not just me anymore :)

Weigh in at 5:30!!!!!

demoska1 · 04/12/2014 17:04

Wombat...I'm sorry to hear that you are struggling too with health issues. It's s**t isn't it?
Onwards and upwards! I'd like to have a SW buddy to keep me motivated and I'd like to think I can spur others on too.
Today I have had 2 big bowls of super soup.. I've not eaten anything else and I don't feel hungry. I've had milk for my cuppa. Not sure what to have for tea yet.
Good luck for your weigh in.

ChippingInAutumnLover · 05/12/2014 09:49

Wombat...how did you go last night? Not sure if you didn't update because you didn't do so well, or if you are still celebrating?!

I love the pic your mum sent you, it's perfect!!

Hope you are ok x

CoconutAmericano · 05/12/2014 12:07

Well wombat how did the weigh in go?!

Can i just say i bought some fat free yogurts in Lidl this morning and the lemon cheesecske one is divine. Omg, it's one syn but totally worth it.

my 22.3 stone mission! :)
Worryingwombat · 05/12/2014 22:34

My message has got lost again!!!! I have posted twice now!!! :(

I had a good weigh in 3lb off :) and slimmer of the week again!!! Lol

Have made a good plan for this week I want that 1 1/2 stone award next week!!

OP posts:
MisForMumNotMaid · 05/12/2014 22:42

Fantastic. So glad it was a good loss. At some point we all have weeks that we don't get the weigh in we deserve but its good that that hasn't happened and you're back posting.

1.5stone award looming. Thats wow territory. At this rate you'll be a cover model in the SW magazine come Summer addition.

When my internet is a bit slow, usually when i have loads of windows open, if i click post then open another window the post doesn't load (even though technically it should) then when the thread refreshes the upload fails and the message is lost.

Worryingwombat · 05/12/2014 22:54

Oh god I could never be in a magazine I hate having my pic taken!!

I am lucky to have lost every week but I think as I have so much to lose it will keep going for a while before I Plato

Well I bloody hope it does LOL

I am on track with my active minutes to get my bronze body magic award this coming thu Smile been using the Fitbit band to tack how I have been doing and I have been getting on the treadmill too

ChippingInAutumnLover · 06/12/2014 00:52

Bugger about your posts.

I have to wait for it to post on the iPad. If it doesn't I copy the text, refresh the page, paste the text and resend. Bit of a faff. Never have this bother with my trusty ancient laptop!!

Congratulations on your loss this week!!

Just because you have a bit to lose, it doesn't mean you won't get weeks when it just won't show on the scales, sometimes our bodies are 'doing stuff' and even though it's all working on the inside! it doesn't show on the scales. So when you have one or two of those weeks, you just have to be patient!! Most people except seemingly me seem to get a big drop afterwards.

demoska1 · 06/12/2014 09:46

Congratulations wombat!
I had a wobbly day yesterday. I took my parents out for the day and I ate cake. Not a small piece either. Was a silly decision as I'm having an IBS flare up atm.
I'm back on track today and WI on Monday. Hoping its good.

oneowlgirl · 06/12/2014 10:04

Well done Wombat!

I had a bad night last night food & drink wise (but a great fun girls night!) but plan to get back on track today so will hopefully minimise the damage done!

Worryingwombat · 06/12/2014 15:27

Chipping - each week I panic about having a lull as I worry people would look at me thinking why has she not lost anything!!!

I am really wanting my club 10 for the new year! That takes me under the 20stone mark at 19st 13lb Smile

OP posts:
demoska1 · 06/12/2014 16:16

Wombat...you are doing brilliantly.
Xmas can be a tricky time as folk tend to wave all sorts of temptations in your face. I too am determined to loose or maintain over the festive period. It's a tough one at times. I've had speed soup for Brunch today, cleaned all the windows upstairs inside and out so been quite active. I have had a small piece of chocolate but will count that out of my syns. Not sure what's for tea yet!

Worryingwombat · 07/12/2014 23:20

B none busy running about with kids party's and things (not good!!)

L harvester!!! Yes I ate out!! I had the simply chicken with jacket potato peas and beans and from the salad bar I chose carrot beetroot onion lettuce and sweet corn with the low fat vinaigrette dressing I think 1 sun?? No pud !!

T super speed soup yum
Snacks yoghurt alpen light bar

Not too bad a day

Also did 2 20 minute sessions on treadmill Smile

ChippingInAutumnLover · 08/12/2014 03:40

wombat

If anyone there thinks 'I wonder why she didn't lose any this week?' They only have to look in the mirror...no-one is there because they're perfect. They're also very dim if they don't understand the concept that weight loss isn't linear.

I understand that you have goals you should see my notebook!! but I am really worried that you are placing too much emphasis on the destination and none on the journey. You are finally in a place where you can let the weight go...sit with that. Be happy with that achievement! it's of far greater consequence than the scales!!

I'm really worried that when you have a flat week, or god forbid, put on a lb you are going to beat yourself up over it. It's normal, it's natural. Also, for me is hormonal! I can 'gain' several pounds when my period is due. It's one of the things that is easier to see the trend of when you weight daily.

I clunked down the losses like you are...but when they stopped it really, really hit hard. If I can't be an example which I clearly cannot!! Wagon avoider that I am! please let me be a warning!! Xx

CoconutAmericano · 08/12/2014 14:23

Well i wrote yesterday off! And it started so well! But then i took dd1 to a birthday party. She didnt want her hotdog so i very kindly polised it off for her Blush.

Then we went to a christmas fair so i had to have the obligatory mince pie. It would have been rude not to! Anyway we were out in the freezing cold for 3 hrs so to warm up we ordered chippy . Donor kebab and chips plus a glass of wine . Oh sod it, Im back on track today Grin

Worryingwombat · 08/12/2014 23:13

Thank you chipping I know what you mean and I think that is what worries me waiting for a bad week and how I will feel (let's say my emotions are still hyper sensitive)

I have to keep positive and think there is no shame in no loss or a gain like they say in group

I am really starting to enjoy this journey and it has allowed me to reflect a lot on when and why my habits started

I want to enjoy each little section and mini goal I set like the club 10 I can not focus on how much I have to lose in total (10st 11lb) as the number just seems impossible!!

I think after club 10 I will be just aiming for each 7lb each little sticker Smile

Thank you for your advice and I will listen I can not thank you and the other joining me on here enough for all your support

In mumsnetty hug x

ChippingInAutumnLover · 08/12/2014 23:21

Coconut. Did you enjoy it? That's what counts. Life is for living, some days we pick optimal Heath, others enjoyment. Especially when you have kids, it's not good for them to see their Mum 'eating differently' and worrying about her weight. It sounds like you have a good balance, so yep, today's another day!

WombatFlowers. We'll be here when the bastard scales are lying!! you have a flat week. X

Worryingwombat · 10/12/2014 15:54

Lol chipping!!

Well today has been ok it is the day of doom tomorrow weigh in day!!

L speed soup
T chicken tikka curry yum x

How's everyone else doing ? Xx

OP posts:
oneowlgirl · 10/12/2014 19:04

Im off to weigh in now - scared!!

oneowlgirl · 10/12/2014 19:28

I lost a half pound - woohoo! Actually very pleased as had so many syns every day - stayed on plans for meals but just ate mince pies & drank wine constantly in between! (Think it helps that I've worn the lightest winter clothes possible!)

Good luck for tomorrow Wombat! Smile

MisForMumNotMaid · 10/12/2014 19:37

Lol at on plan except the bits in between the on plan bits. Congratulations on the loss.

I have excelled myself this week. I've managed to spend the last three days with a stomach bug. I'm the only person I know who eats their way through sickness. I've just about stuck to pasta, jackets and actifry chips though.

I think its going to be a loss tomorrow as I've been on plan all week. But who knows it doesn't all follow.

I need to find some energy because i'm almost out of fruit, nice meats and yogurts. If I don't get some good stuff in the jars, packets and frozen pizzas i have are going to becon.
