New to sw - anyone else joining in the new year?

Well.

After a very embarrassing 20 minutes on dd's new just dance game on the xbox one (which recorded my pathetic attempt and played it back to me Blush ) I was gasping for breath and completely aghast at the size I have reached.

I have text my nearest slimming world consultant and will be going to my first weigh in on Jan 6th.

I'm stunned at how bloody fat I am - really really upset with myself.

I am planning to do this too! Well done on takings the first steps :) I'm 3 months post baby and feeling unfit and heavy.

Well, most of my weight gain was prior to giving birth, so don't have an excuse either!

Me and DH are starting together but I'm not not sure when, probably Jan 2nd.

Go your dh! Grin My dip could do with going too, but won't entertain going to meetings, so I'm going to try and adapt it a bit for him to do it at home.

I am joining please lost 3 stone last time however bad habits are creeping back in and my aniexty disorder is back :( I always end up losing the threads so need to keep an eye on them better this time.

Hi All - planning on starting on the 2nd Jan. I probably have half my body weight to lose so I'm in it for the long haul but hopefully this time next year, I'll be on my way to being healthy.

I'm in, hopefully starting on the 2nd. Managed to lose 2 stone on it 2 years ago (half of what I needed to lose) but it's all crept on again. Chomping at the bit to start though have a house full of chocolate and wine !

I am rejoining this week! I have tried everything and SW is the only thing that really works for me. Pre-baby I lost 7 stone on it but have put on 3.5 since getting pregnant, down to bad habits and laziness. I am going to get back there!!!!

Ladies, can I just say well done to those who are going to join? I joined in February last year and was SO nervous walking into that room for the first time - I was looking in wondering if I was at the right door when my lovely consultant came out and said, "Are you looking for us?" before gently dragging me in when I said I was! Grin

I've lost 1 stone 11lbs so far and have about 4 to lose in total. I just wish I'd joined earlier! I was 23 when I joined and spent my late teens in jeans and baggy hoodies because I was too big to wear the lovely clothes my friends did :(

I hope you all find success with the plan and enjoy it - the groups really help me as the atmosphere in ours is fantastic and our consultant is ace :)

Getting more excited about it the closer it gets :) is there anything we can do before we start? Any essentials we should stock up on? Any advice?

My best advice - go in with an open mind. You're going to be told stuff that completely contradicts other diets, but just trust in the plan and it'll all start coming together :)

Also, if you don't lose or don't lose a lot on your first week, don't panic - some people might lose a pound their first week or 2, but then drop 2 or 3 the next.

good luck everyone joining. ive lost 2st1lb in the past 11 weeks on sw it's been my saviour. am hoping that a week away hasnt had too bad of an effect tomorrow but im on my way home now and back on track Grin

I am going on Thursday. I've had a really shitty year - I lost my dear dad in the summer and have put on weight over this year and I was already massively overweight:( I need to lose 6 stone:(

SW worked for me years ago when I'd had dd2 and lost weight easily on it so am hoping the same will happen this time although it's probably going to be slower as I have so much to loseSad

I haven't really felt ready to face the fact that I am massive but I really hate my body and I am 45 and am fed up of being frumpy and dressing in what fits rather than what I really like!

Those of you who have lost lots of weight - how long has it taken you? I am really hoping I can lose at least 5 stone in the coming year. Do you think this is achievable?

Can I join you? According to my home scales I weigh 14stone 13lbs, that puts my BMI at 36 Blush. My first meeting will be on the 6th. This weeks is tonight which I'm a bit gutted about as it's too short notice, DH is marathon training and already decided he wants to go running.

I'm rejoining aswell, not until the 9th though. Dp needs to lose a bit aswell, he definitely wouldn't go to meetings so I'll just be weighing him at home and serving him the same meals I have.
I can't wait to get back into it, I have about 3.5 stone to lose.

I am going start going to a group and doing SW properly in the new year, I had been doing it quite frankly half heartedly for a few months in the latter part of this year and it does work I bet it works really well if you do it properly

I have at least 4 stone to lose, baby weight but my youngest is 3, so really just greed now. But I was once slim and I want to be again...

Glad to see this thread is getting busy! Good luck to all new starters - it's hard, but we're making steps in the right direction which is what counts.

I have a LOT if weight to loose, about 8 stone I think, which is a whole person Shock It's daunting but I'm determined this time.

I have downloaded the slimming world app, the couch to 5k app and will be joining my fitness pal - if anyone wants to share usernames that would be good!

The slimming world app has a 6 day meal plan so you have an idea of the kind of foods you can eat.

I hope you all keep posting here and that we can start sharing our successes!

I'm going to join too. First meeting will be next Tuesday or Wednesday and I'm petrified!
I've probably got at least 5 stone to lose. I've turned into a fat, lazy lump and I get out of breath just going upstairs.
What is SW like? I've never done it before. I did WeightWatchers about 10 years ago and lost nearly 3 stone, but haven't tried anything since.

I'm in please! I intend to start mid january, joining my mum who has lost 2st in just over 2 months. (she's amazing)

My baby was born 5 weeks ago and at worst my hope is to not pile on more weight whilst breastfeeding. Ideally I want to go from size 18-20 to the 12-14 of pre baby days.

It's good to know that there's a few of us! Good luck!
