Well.

After a very embarrassing 20 minutes on dd's new just dance game on the xbox one (which recorded my pathetic attempt and played it back to me Blush ) I was gasping for breath and completely aghast at the size I have reached.

I have text my nearest slimming world consultant and will be going to my first weigh in on Jan 6th.

I'm stunned at how bloody fat I am - really really upset with myself.

Confused

Can I join you please? I have joined a group but only gave the time for weigh ins. Hoping online support will inspire me.

I have 3 stone to lose Blush

Weigh in tomorrow. I gave stuck by the diet but don't feel any different!

Badlands · 13/01/2014 08:58

Welcome bluebelle and essexgirl . Good luck with your weigh ins, fingers crossed for you (and adding to our thread total!!).

I made this homemade sausages and colcannon recipe yesterday from a recipe from good to know www.goodtoknow.co.uk/recipes/513442/homemade-mustard-sausages-and-colcannon

There are quite a few recipes on their which are free - search for slimming world and they all come up. The kids scarfed it up too!

Good luck all with sticking to the plan over the week, I will be doing my next weeks meal plan this evening and then doing an online shop for Friday to get it all organised.

Revenger · 13/01/2014 23:44

First weigh in tonight and I lost 2lbs Smile.

Feel a bit mixed about it tbh. On the one hand, I'm absolutely astounded to have lost at all given the amount I have eaten Shock. It just does not compute. I feel like it's a fluke and I won't lose next week. Otoh, I feel a bit disappointed as with previous eating plans I've lost 6lbs in the first week which further adds to my feeling that I won't lose again Hmm. Can anyone relate?

I guess this relates to my unhealthy attitude towards food and weight loss. I should be aiming for slow and steady and learning new habits. Would be nice to get a big loss though.

I'm going to keep going with it. I've bought a recipe book this week which I hope will help as I've literally been scouring the cupboards trying to think of something to make and invariably end up having a jacket potato as I can't think of what to make with what I have in. And I'm also going to start shredding as well I think.

Good luck everyone!

Badlands · 14/01/2014 08:29

Well I say a loss is a loss is a loss! If you lose 2lbs a week that's a stone by the end of Feb! Well done.

Thread total 1st 6lbs so only 1lb to make the stone and a half.

Yesterday for me

B fruit, yoghurt, quark, muesli (HEXB)
L salad, ham, chicken, pastrami, bresaola (2 syns)
S fruit
D spal bol, cheese (hexa) salad, muller light, fruit, mini choc biscuit (4 syns)

Run 5k on the way home

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 14/01/2014 13:28

Hi everyone, Revenger it is a loss and it is a marathon not a sprint, that's what I keep telling myself anyway! The steadier I lose the more chance I have keeping it off.

I had a near miss today, I was out and starving (busy morning forgot to bring snacks) and about to go and get something probably chocolate and lots of it, just about to walk into the shop and walked straight into my group consultant Shock That stopped me!!!! A bit :( I nearly caved though.

FirConesAtXmas · 14/01/2014 19:39

Ooh today has been hard. Stressy day at work, feeling cold and dd has just broke some glass in the sitting room - aargh. Really want to reach for some of the Xmas chocolate that's in the house.

But instead, I'm posting on here. No calories and a safe place to vent.
But I still want chocolate!!

Badlands · 14/01/2014 20:31

Well done Fircones and everythingisticketyboo for resistance in the face of temptation!

I am eating SW chips cooked to the recipe for the first time, and using the chip mesh I luckily wipin at my group raffle last week and they are amazing!!! Would recommend.

FirConesAtXmas · 15/01/2014 22:37

So the dreaded weigh in today, lost a modest 1.5 lbs, would have liked more, but it's still less than I weighed last week.

So I think that makes our combined total 1 stone 71/2 lbs.

FirConesAtXmas · 15/01/2014 22:39

My sw consultant has just listed that she had 162 members through the 2 classes she runs this evening, her biggest ever!

BlueBelle09 · 15/01/2014 23:26

Lost 6.5lbs tonight at my first weigh in, absolutely delighted with that, it should definitely give me the motivation to keep gong with it

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 15/01/2014 23:45

Bluebelle that's bloody amazing!!!

FirConesAtXmas · 16/01/2014 06:59

Oh well done Bluebell. Smile that's fantastic.

And brings the thread total to 2 stone Grin

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 16/01/2014 09:32

New thread total, 2

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 16/01/2014 09:35

Sorry try again Blush new thread total 2 stone 1.5lb :) not as much as I would have hoped but I have still lost so I'm happy :):) my personal loss is 5 lb in 2 weeks.

Badlands · 16/01/2014 09:43

Well done Fircones! And well done Bluebelle! Great losses and the thread total over 2 stone already, that's the weight of a toddler gone.

My weigh in is Saturday morning so only today and tomorrow to do. Ran 6k last night on way home and got best average pace since before I was first pregnant (6 years ago!) so that gave me a boost.

I have 4stone to lose so hoping to put a dent in it on Saturday, even if a small one Grin

Bluebelle anything you think you did well this week to share?

MadMadamMim · 17/01/2014 10:07

Morning everyone - how's it going? Some fantastic losses I see! I weighed in yesterday and lost two pounds! I must admit I feel really positive about it, because I don't feel like I've been really saintly (I had three chocolate bars over the week!) so it's good to still see a loss. Plus it's my TOTM so maybe next week I'll see an even bigger loss! Fingers crossed!

3.5 pounds down, 41 to go!!! I make that a thread total of 2 stone 3.5 pounds! Grin

Badlands · 17/01/2014 20:49

I'm doing OK madmadamim, how're you? Well done on two more pounds!

I am about to fill in my last meal on my first weeks diary and I think it is a thing of beauty! Have really stuck to the plan this week so hoping for something off tomorrow at my weigh in (9:30am). Am not eating great bowlfuls of pasta in an attempt not to hold on to lists of water tonight!

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 17/01/2014 21:52

MadMadamMim your fabulous loss takes us to 2st 5lb, well done all of us so far!!!

jaabaar · 17/01/2014 22:49

jaabaar · 17/01/2014 22:51

Hi

FirConesAtXmas · 18/01/2014 08:14

Well I'm feeling rather pleased as we had friends over for dinner last night and I gave them a lovely beef in red wine casserole (1syn) with masses of super free veg and roast sweet potatoes.
Followed by sw recipe chocolate mousse (5 syns each but I only had half) and an impressive looking but really easy raspberry and vanilla terrine (1 syn).
Drink wise I had a very small dry martini & lemonade, and just 1 small glass of wine.
So prob 9-10 syns for the whole thing, but it felt very indulgent, and there's leftovers I can freeze for midweek!

Steffanoid · 18/01/2014 08:27

fir cones, a terrine sounds lovely. will you post the recipe?

brilliant losses everyone, each day is a new one stick at this and you will reap the benefits Smile

Badlands · 18/01/2014 13:45

Hi all hope Saturday is treating you well! I weighed in 2.5lb down on the scales so I am very pleased!

Have done a quick full thread tally as I think there was some double counting somewhere, with Jaabaar's loss (well done Jaabaar!! Great to have a loss) and mine we are bang on 2st 7lbs.

Hope you all have great weekends and stay on plan!

Shaxx · 18/01/2014 19:12

Hello everyone. Can I hop along please?

I really need to lose 2 stone and sw always seems the easiest diet to follow. I did it 2 years ago and liked it.

I'm not going to the group as there isn't one that fits in with my pt hrs locally.

Today I had banana, Satsuma and yoghurt
another banana as I was in a rush and it was 2pm and I was hungry
late lunch was pasta with tomato and mushroom sauce
dinner was rice with chicken and spinach curry.

I feel like I've eaten too much today! I know sw doesn't specify portion sizes but I do think my pasta at lunch was too much. I was really hungry and tend to overeat when I am. Is it wishful to think that it didn't really matter or do people think it actually does?

MadMadamMim · 18/01/2014 19:38

Hi everyone and welcome Shaxx Grin it's so cool we're at two and a half stone already. I made weetabix cake yesterday and have been pleasantly surprised but that terrine sounds nicer Wink I went to Holland and Barratt today and got some scan bran so going to try a raspberry and chocolate scan bran cake tomorrow. I'll let you know how it turns out!
