Well.

After a very embarrassing 20 minutes on dd's new just dance game on the xbox one (which recorded my pathetic attempt and played it back to me Blush ) I was gasping for breath and completely aghast at the size I have reached.

I have text my nearest slimming world consultant and will be going to my first weigh in on Jan 6th.

I'm stunned at how bloody fat I am - really really upset with myself.

Evening everyone. My SW cannelloni is in the oven.

I think the current weight loss tally on the thread is 8lbs. That's ALREADY over half a stone and most people haven't even had a weigh in! Go, thread team!

Welcome to everyone just joining the thread.

Castlelough · 09/01/2014 01:55

Go you Fircones Grin well done! Grin

Am weighing in for the end of Wk1 tomorrow. Praying I am down something, anything. It hasn't been a wonderful week, tbh I'm not sure what to expect...I'm definitely being better than I WAS but not as good as I need to be....on the bright side I didn't eat a single crisp (my weakness) and never even thought about them!Grin

Castlelough · 09/01/2014 01:56

Badlands how was the SW Canneloni?

Goldensunnydays81 · 09/01/2014 11:35

Well I haven't really stuck to plan I hurt my back from New Year's Day and then on Tuesday ds had his tonsils out and we stayed in hospital the night so was just a bit rubbish but have started off this morning and going ok so far am going to go and do a bit of cooking now to stock things up :)
Well done on all the losses this week Grin

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 09/01/2014 12:07

Just had first weigh in, 3.5 lb loss :):) be back later to catch up properly!

Badlands · 09/01/2014 14:01

The cannelloni is very good, had to cook it for an extra 10 mins as it was a bit too al denote for me after 20. But would recommend.

I think it's 11.5lbs down across the thread now. Well done all!

fruitpastilles · 09/01/2014 14:12

Finally joined today so am on it properly.

B - banana
L - bacon, egg, spaghetti hoops, mushrooms and tomatoes.

D - will be - chicken, boiled potatoes, cabbage, peas and gravy (syns)

Hea and heb will be cheese on toast for supper and I'll have a few quality street chocs to use some syns later.

Can't wait for next week now to see how I'll have done Smile

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 09/01/2014 14:55

Have just had the most fun shop at tesco I've had for a long time :) trying to lose the weight on my own I was always second guessing my choices (or giving in to the reduced section naughty stuff) but I've filled my basket with free/low syn stuff (using the app to double check) and I've loved it :):) Had a bit of a mare in the cafe though, had planned to have jacket and beans for lunch while we were there but it was only doing sandwiches and cakes Shock I didn't know what to do so I just had a Brew am absolutely starving now, off to find some free stuff to eat!

Hope your DS is ok Golden

Goldensunnydays81 · 09/01/2014 18:49

Well today has gone ok I think

B toast and satsumas
S apple
L jacket with beans 1 tbsp soft cheese and big salad
S muller light yoghurt
Dinner 3 quorn sausages + slimming world chips and salad

He a milk
Heb toast

So has gone okayish today and I am feeling positive about it!! Oh and have made a massive pot of minestrone for the next few days Smile

Going to do a big tesco soho too and stock up on some syn free goodies!! And lots veg!!

Hope everyone has a good day.

MadMadamMim · 09/01/2014 20:02

Hi all sounds like everyone's doing well so far! Well done everyone :)

I can add my HUGE loss to the group total... Having been PERFECT all week I've lost a WHOPPING...

1.5lb
Confused Shock Sad

Oh well, a loss is a loss. I stayed to group, and my consultant recommends I syn more - I've been averaging about 5 syns a day (everyone gasped when I said that!) so bring on the treats this week!!

Is anyone else doing dry January as well? I'm finding it tougher than i thought I would, but pretty chuffed I haven't hit the bottle yet!

Badlands · 09/01/2014 20:40

My day has been

B apple and banana (late!)
L wafer thin ham, small whole meal roll (HEXB) and packet of pastrami and tomatoes
S lots of fruit (avoided all the chocolate workshop nibbles, hurrah)
S when got home HEXA cheese, breadsticks (5 syns), couple of slices of ham
D leftover beef Bourgogne and mashed swede, prob yoghurt for pud

Ran 6.5km home

I think with madmadammim excellent loss we have a thread title of 13lbs. One more for the stone, ladies.

Badlands · 09/01/2014 20:40

or *total, even

Castlelough · 09/01/2014 21:14

So happy to report a loss here! Weigh in this evening! I'm down 1.5 lbs. Smile

Aiming for more next week, and will be adding in exercise too....

Castlelough · 09/01/2014 21:15

Ooh that gives us a thread stone! Grin

jaabaar · 09/01/2014 23:29

Lost only half a pound today..... And was good all week!
Uffffffff....

jaabaar · 09/01/2014 23:31

Mad madam

I think I must eat more syncs then... Barely get in 2 a day mostly zero.... Thanks for that tip!

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 09/01/2014 23:31

Well done Jab a loss is a loss!! So we're up to 1st 1lb :):)

FirConesAtXmas · 10/01/2014 07:25

Fantastic weight losses everyone. Over a stone and we are only a week in.
I wonder where we will be, together, by the end of January?

I need to get organised today, get next weeks menus sorted, then hit Tescos for a big weekly shop.

MadMadamMim · 10/01/2014 11:02

jaabaar I'm going to experiment this week aiming to eat ten syns a day every day and see if that makes any difference. I don't really understand why it would though- I thought the syns were there to make maintaining easier once you're at goal. we'll see. In theory we'd still lose doing that so at least I won't feel so cheated next week if its another half pound or pound!

First day of a new week for me- off to Aldi in a minute with meal plan and shopping list in hand! Grin

jaabaar · 10/01/2014 17:20

madmadam
I'm doing the same, 10 syncs. Also I have to be very strict about my healthy a and b....

MadMadamMim · 10/01/2014 18:12

Yeah my consultant said something interesting kind of in passing last night- if you don't have all of your healthy extra b (the dairy one) you should count the syns of it. I didn't get a chance to question it. Anyone got any ideas if this is true? I never finish my milk...

Goldensunnydays81 · 11/01/2014 13:25

Hello everyone

Well going to add my weigh in for this week
3lb lost Grin

Think this will prob be my best week well it has been half a week really but was with ds in hosp and didn't really eat properly there so that prob helped a bit!!

Have just got to up the exercise now and get more organised!

Has anyone tried the baked risotto? Am going to give it a go tonight.

Well done everyone on their losses! Hopefully we will have a fab January with lots of weight loss.

Badlands · 11/01/2014 18:22

So we are down by 1st 4lbs in total. I have joined properly today now with the online membership swapped over etc so had my weigh in, and hoping for a loss next week. My scales are registering a loss this week but I'm not counting it. Cycled there and back too, fortunately no rain this week!

We are tucking into SW cheesy ham and potato hash and it's lovely, and free + HEXA cheese on too.

I have an app called 'Paprika' which is great for meal planning, recipe storage/pulling recipes straight off the internet (all the SW ones work to transfer directly to the app and I can just look through the ones I have tagged with 'slimming world' when I am planning) and also you can make shopping lists from the recipes you have chosen for the week. It's really helping me to plan ahead. I don't think it was free, but it's worth the price I think.

jaabaar · 12/01/2014 22:56

Madmadam

I was doing the same.... Not finishing my milk. Loss slowed down and donsultant said the same. If i do not finish my milk or cheese etc it must be counted as sins. So it is double wrong.... You didn't have your choice a, which is bad plus u got more sins.

She was very insisting that we have to measure exactly. Not over not under not guessing.

She said if u drink skimmed milk and don't finish it switch to semi skimmed or full fat which are reduced quantities!

BlueBelle09 · 12/01/2014 23:51

Hey guys room for another? Started last Wednesday, feeling more motivated after reading this thread & knowing I'm not alone. Have prepared free chicken soup for lunch the next couple of days, hopefully that'll keep me on track until I get weighed
