Well.

After a very embarrassing 20 minutes on dd's new just dance game on the xbox one (which recorded my pathetic attempt and played it back to me Blush ) I was gasping for breath and completely aghast at the size I have reached.

I have text my nearest slimming world consultant and will be going to my first weigh in on Jan 6th.

I'm stunned at how bloody fat I am - really really upset with myself.

Confused

Hello can I join?
I started sw last Monday. been amazed at myself how well I've done with green plan. not gone over 8syns on any day. more energy but my trousers are still feeling as tight as a week ago don't think I've lost a think perhaps even put on :( weigh in tomorrow will tell me, can't wait :/
IF I haven't lost hopefully my consultant will tell me where I went wrong, as everything that past my lips is on my food diary which I'll hand in, and I've been weighing my hot choc, porridge, measuring milk... well see.

how are you all doing? A ny losses so far ir weigh ins coming up?

jimmijam · 05/01/2014 19:54

#castle# iI can't find fromage frsis anywhere either. Does yogurt taste the same?I used quark. in my lasagne instead, want sure the sound of yogurt in it#

#chloeb# yay, another shift/ night worker! since I starred working nights I put on most of my weight. meals during the day are the same plus I'm eating at night. many people don't understand I grab a couple of hours sleep here and there during the day around the children and don't get a pproper night sleep during the day. doesn't help I know but we do what we have to.

I took s photo of the scale reading on my phone. without looking back at it I may have gone off the wagon. cannot believe how much I weigh without seeing it

FirConesAtXmas · 05/01/2014 22:34

Just to say, tonight we had the chicken tikka from the jan magazine. You grill the marinated chicken and peppers, then add them to a fresh curry sauce, so it might be a bit if a faff for mid-week after work, but it was delicious so will definitely be making it again.

Castlelough · 05/01/2014 23:45

Loving hearing how people are getting on with the SW recipes Smile.

Golden and Fruit I am bm for my sister at the end of April and I am currently a size 14, while the other three bms are 8-10 argh! Need willpower of steel!

Have had a bad weekend. Ate out, spent a long time at the hospital with DMiL and ended up buying a sandwich.
And a banana.
It has been syn, syn, syn.

New day tomorrow, new me. Grin

jaabaar · 06/01/2014 05:58

Jimmijam
From age frais you can find in the cheese section, I used to look for it under whipped cream etc!

FirConesAtXmas · 06/01/2014 07:59

Castle new day! new start.
Good luck today Smile

jimmijam · 06/01/2014 14:36

I've been liking for it with the yogurt# thanks I may take a look later when I go for the paper ( late I know but I was working last night, not long got up :) yay to sleep after a shift!)

made a nice lasagne yesterday, quorn mince, quark &50g light philly ( counted one portion as syns as I ate less tan half the lasagne), 60g cheese (heb as are less than half the 60g that was evenly sprinkled on top), pasaata and loads of veg.

going to do mushroom stroganoff in a bit. we eat around 4-5pm so will be before weigh in. Perhaps not the best thing!

PsychicPaper · 06/01/2014 14:48

I start tomorrow.

Getting married in 12 weeks, then plan on TTC

I am a size 26 now, so a lot to lose! Can I join?

jimmijam · 06/01/2014 18:10

woohoo first weigh in.4lb off! :) 1st 2lb to go :)

littlemefi · 06/01/2014 19:53

Had my first post-Christmas weigh in and only 1/2 lb on, thank goodness! Then did a big SW friendly food shop, and picked up a SW book for £3.99 in Sainsburys for some new food ideas- a fast food one.
I tend to stick to the same stuff a lot for evening meals so plan to be a bit more adventurous.

jimmijam · 06/01/2014 21:10

eating different foods keeps you going I think, I've heard it also helps with weight loss.
well done! you'll have to let us know if the book is any good x

Badlands · 06/01/2014 22:22

Well done jimmijam that's a great weight loss! You must be really pleased!

We should keep a tally of total losses on this thread perhaps?? I think thus far it's just you with 4lbs.

I have been on plan today with 3.5 syns (am saving up for Friday night) with a big run on the way home so feeling quite pleased with myself.

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 06/01/2014 22:33

Aaw that's a brilliant weight loss Jimmjamm, I can only hope for half that! I'm loving the online recipes, I pop in the search box what I have in my fridge and it tells me what to cook :)

jimmijam · 07/01/2014 15:20

my consultant daddy's if you have less than 5syns a day you don't lose as much weight. so if I have had less then.I make it up with a small.hi fi bar or an.extra hot chocolate :)

thats a good.idea, hopefully the loss will soon start adding up
good idea everything :)

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 07/01/2014 15:23

I agree, we should have a tally of losses :) it would be were motivating :):)

Castlelough · 08/01/2014 01:06

Thanks Fircone today was my best day yet, only 3 syns. Although, reading the thread this evening, perhaps I should have been naughtier!

I made the SW Spaghetti Bolognese thus evening. Usually use a jar of Dolmio, as DH hated my homemade sauce on the one occasion that I tried to make it myself. BUT tonight... he loved it! I did leave it simmer for extra time til it reduced down and thickened nicely. It was delish! And not much more faff than using a jar: tin of tomatoes (I whizzed these up in blender as DH very fussyHmm), knorr beef stock pot, Tbsp Worcester sauce and I added a good squirt of tomato purée and herbs, mince, shallots, and I left out the mushroom (DH Hmm)...

I also googled SW soup (syn free) and made a good batch of Potato & Leek and stirred in some shredded leftover baked ham from Sunday dinner. Yum! That's lunch sorted for the rest of this week and into next week.

Going to try SW chips tomorrow and a SW marinade for chicken wings/thighs too...

Welcome Psychic! Smile

Jimmijam wow 4 lbs! I'll be lucky if I manage 1!

Steffanoid · 08/01/2014 06:57

castle if yoir dh is fussy with tinned toms buy passata instead similar price and its sieved tomatoes so no lumps its amazing stuff!

al88 · 08/01/2014 18:20

Well I went to my first meeting last night. I currently weigh even more than I thought so I've got an awful lot to lose. Shock Blush
I've managed to stick to the plan today and have been swimming too. I'm going to meal plan for the week and do a big shop tomorrow.

AandAmom · 08/01/2014 18:25

Starting tonight, have never been to a slimming class in my life and a friend was supposed to come with me but has ducked out........nervous x

Revenger · 08/01/2014 19:19

Hi all. Anyone mind if join in?

I joined SW for the first time this Monday. I've done WW in the past with variable results so I'm hoping this will be different.

I'm doing the extra easy plan. I'm very dubious if I'm honest. I can't see me losing any weight with all the food I am eating. Does it really work? I guess I'll find out at the scales next week.

I think what I really need is some good recipes to get me started. I'm finding things quite confusing at the moment but at least I feel full Smile.

Castlelough · 08/01/2014 20:10

Welcome AandA and Revenger!

I'm sure recipes are on the SW website but I have just been entering into the google search engine eg Slimming World spaghetti carbonara....so if you are looking for something fast google a recipe (say of something you usually cook) on your mobile phone! Wink

I made SW chips and am shocked that DH LIKED them. He said he preferred them to the ones from the deep fat fryer. Now this is Shock Shock as he is such a fussy eater and won't eat 'oven chips'! Personally, I thought they were fine, edible. Could happily eat them, but not a patch on 'real' chips! But I suppose we have to make compromises if we want to lose!

Castlelough · 08/01/2014 20:12

Thanks Steff I'll look out for passata!
It's terrible that I feel the need to cater around DH and his finicky eating, but I do most of the dinners here, so it's great if I don't have to cook two dinners!

FirConesAtXmas · 08/01/2014 20:32

Reporting in after 1 week and first weigh-in.

4lb loss! Yay.

Feeling happy Grin

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 08/01/2014 20:34

Well done FirCones that's great!

My first weigh in tomorrow

Steffanoid · 08/01/2014 20:44

keep up the good work people. stick to it.

I find fitting in with picky eaters difficult I find frozen mixed veg very helpful especially if you have a meal that's lacking in them you can get everything, carrots, cauli, broccoli, diced onions, peppers all prepared for you.
you find the passata with the tinned toms usually in a carton.
sneaking veg in is definitely something that needs to happen sometimes
